It may seem fanciful but the fact representatives of Pep Guardiola have had contact with Arsenal officials, since July of this year is an open secret in Barcelona.

He is known also to be on very friendly terms with Wenger.

The board at Barca are playing with fire in constantly seeking to thwart Guardiola's signings, it's caused friction when the man himself justs want to be 'a coach, not a politician'.
He'll more than likely go to Inter next summer, but Arsenal have definately spoken to his 'people'.

At least that shows ambition.

Representatives of Pep Guardiola but not his agent
Jose Maria Orobitg himself, have met Arsenal officials twice since July, '11.

Discussions are not at anywhere near official level, but Guardiola is both the board's and Wenger's choice.

Guardiola has however been approached directly by Massimo Moratti with regards taking the reins next season.

The signing of a top quality centre half has become a tug of war, between Guardiola and the board.
He can buy if he wishes in January, but must raise the finance by selling.

How Do You Know This?

Agree0 Disagree0

Massamo Morati the Inter Milan president? WTF are you going on about?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ranieri just took over as Inter boss plus I don't see why Guardiola would want to leave Barca at all. Never mind coming to us....

Agree0 Disagree0

He HAs Said Himself He Is Not Being Challenge He Was Even Going To Leave Last Season Put Said Ill Do One More Season Then Go. If There Is Anywhere Guadiola Would Want To Manage Its Arsenal We Play A Very Attractive Style And HE Would Fnd It Easy To Work With Our Plays Compared To Working At Manu or Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I have heard the rumours about Guardiola to Inter.
It's common knowledge in Spain that Pep and the board are just about ready to call time on the relationship, but Im sure he'll choose Inter over Arsenal.
Pep and Wenger are apparently very close.

Agree0 Disagree0

I read this on Twitter from a reliable source but I doubt Wenger will go anytime soon unless he already has plans to leave. I know that Pep is not on good terms with the Barca board and Arsenal contacted him so there is a slight possibility. Was just thinking and will never happen but if when good ol' pat retires maybe Pep number 2. Would be amazing but wont happen

Agree0 Disagree0

..you gotta be kidding me.. instead of managing Messi, Cesc, Puyol... Pep will like to manage this lot :)

how much would we get for arshavin
rvp
vermaelen
we would get atleast 6o million

Believable8 Unbelievable21

10m for Arsh max, he's old, off form too.
RvP we could about 20-30m although I'd love to be able to say 40m+
Verm 20m .

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sold RvP and Vermaelen we would lose our two best players AGAIN and would become the laughing stock of football.

Look at the league table, we have much work to do to get back into the top4, and you want to sell RvP (main goalscoring threat and captain) and Vermaelen (only decent CB we have and vice captain)

Madness....

According to the thing I check every day, which is not at all reliable, the following is in the works:

We are considering a move for Valencia midfielder Parejo. 5m bid in January. If those are the sights we are setting ourselves then I am very disappointed. I know nothing about this guy but I do know it is high time our club put OUR money where its mouth is.

ALso being linked with......wait foooorrrr it..... lewis Dunk from Brighton.

The next one is interesting: it says we are looking to place a 15m bid for Jann M'Villa in Jan. Seeing as we had something like 25 knocked back I highly doubt this. What it also says is we will do it by 'using the remaining cash from the sales of Fabregas and Nasri' - sorry what? We're going to use 40m to make a 15m bid? Or is this implying that half our summer transfers were not funded by our original kitty but, just as I said they would be, allocated by the Nas and Fab money so the club can say it doesn't have any other funds....talk about mixed messaging! We act broke when we're doing business but we talk tough liek we have 100m sitting there for the rest of the time.

Anyhow make of that what you will.

Peace.

I believe Wenger's days are numbered at Arsenal. Italian contacts have advised me that Ancellotti is the prefered choice to take over next season.

Believable8 Unbelievable20

They Wont Sack Him

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes because Acelotti did so well at Chelsea with far better resoureces ....

Let's hope not Ancelotti like most managers at the top demands transfer fees, whereas at Arsenal no manager has ever or will ever get this

Hence why even though many people are angry with Wenger and our league start realise we are not the same as Chelsea in as much as we can't just chuck out Wenger and get another one.

CArlo helped broker the deal for santos so thier could be truth in it, i think we need a new manager now as arsena has taken us as far as he can and if results go against us today we could be bottom of the prem wish isnt going to be great going to whiteheart lane next sunday

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on, get your money on this one.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have also heard that Ancellotti is being considered. However the cost for Wenger to go is way way too much. (circa £18m)

from bbc:
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be out of action until Christmas as his ankle injury has not responded to treatment.

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Another TV5 type season long injury in the making.. why why us?
Ashish

Agree0 Disagree0

What is wrong with our medical staff?! as much as I hate to say it this would never happen at man u, barring hargreaves their players are never injured for this sort of time and yet we seem to get it every season. either it has something to do with our training methods or our medical team but whatever it is we need it sorted!

Agree0 Disagree0

We all wish Jack well, but I agree with the previous message, something has to be done with our medical team. We are getting far too many long term injuries and we seem to struggle identifying the real problem. We need Gary Lewin back from England!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we consulted some specialists regarding this injury. it's not our medical staff's fault if his ankle couldn't heal without surgery. but what i've heard his ankle was like this the whole summer and then got worse so maybe he should have seen specielists earlier. of course it's easy to say that now

Agree0 Disagree0

Me thinks its arsenals cost effectiveness measures coming into play ie no specialists if you don't "need" to..the board is probably more responsible than anything else

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on! seeing a specialist is costs pitance compared to a wages of the players, cost of transporting the team etc. The club aren't that stingy. Wilshire has said if he were more experienced he would have flagged it up rather than going on holiday - there is only so much any medical staff can do so please stop all this doom and gloom that it would never have happened at Man U etc!
