i have been told, that Manchester United will delay with the 3rd bid for cesc.

They are waiting for Arsenal to pursue suarez, and then will put a bid in for cesc which is likely to be accepted, leaving arsenal, unable to sign cesc.

hence granting them a clear move.

currently, Manchester United feel encouraged that cesc will join them, however they are extremely worried about wengers silence on the matter, besides the statement he said some time ago.

i just hope the new barca manager, comes out, says cesc is not for sale. end that debate, and allow us to progress aswell.

not sure if we will raise suarez bid.
not sure about bernanrd or fellaini or rami.

long TW indeed {Ed027's Note - 'unable to sign Cesc' we can sign both, if Cesc becomes available watch Wenger run to Barca and pick him up himself,

Believable13 Unbelievable32

If MU get a bid accepted Arsenal will snap him up for 25m, fact and their is no doubt about it,

Funny u should say not able to afford it because the reason fellaini hasn't been signed up is because Cesc's situation is 100% resolved yet, and would rather wait for Cesc. they could afford Fellaini Cesc and Suarez but AW doesn't think he needs 2 midfielders.

Agree2 Disagree0

Forget the so called 70 mil- arsenal have the money ++ they really want a player the money is there, don't you worry about that.

In fact, IF this is true (I doubt it tbh), it would be funny if they think arsenal are spent out, little do they know about our finances.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal always take 1 step forward and two steps back.

If Fabregas becomes available and Arsenal don't secure him AT ANY COST then it will be two steps backwards again

Fabregas > any current member of our squad

Even when we had Fabregas, Nasri and RVP we needed to strengthen our squad. If we get Fabregas back, we still need Suarez/Rooney, plus we need to strengthen further.

If Fabregas goes to United then nothing that Wenger/Ivan does will make up for that, even spending 50m on Suarez

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would arsenal be unable to sign him?

Agree1 Disagree0

We're in negotiations with Ginter
Bernard well its us or Porto
SUAREZ his camp are adamant Liverpool have backtracked on their word and a written contract releasing Suarez for 40m if they fail to make CL which they did.

Suarez will force a move and it should go through but it will take time. Lawyers and BPL board will assist in the out comings of this transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this is true.

i mean I hope moyes is stupid enough to think we can't afford him. even after paying 50m out on suare'

ive been told this. I have no idea, about it. been trawling through twitter and a few people saying the same, could be from the mail and sly update too.

i just found it believable, as wenger has said nothing about cesc. he did make a statement awhile back, but don't you find it strange that united, keep going higher and higher?

and I know we have the buyback clause, but if we spend 50mill of suarez ( not that we will just saying)

will we then have another 25 just for a position we have plenty of cover in? when we need to cover cb, cdm and gk?

i really don't want cesc at united. I hope the update I got is wrong. and I am totally 110% wrong.

for now ill still keep the faith that cesc will stick it out, and possibly just waste their time.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he is pleading for Barcelona to accept the bid, maybe he's trying to force a move back to arsenal, hoping that they'll pay the 25mil.

Ed that's one of the best replies I've seen on here all year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish barca ain't even paid arsenal for fab yet and if arsenal need emergency cash you don't need to worry just look who is backing us.

Arsenal have been set a deadline of next to meet the 50m according to the Telegraph, if we are brave we could hold out because no1 else seems to be interested. but that could end badly.

Believable20 Unbelievable10

Liverpool are making 20 mill on a player in two years. if they spent the torres money properly they would not be here.

now to get arsenal to fork out 50mill? I say chuck it. let them keep suarez.

they will still end up outside the top 4, mainly due to the saga that will continue.

next year his value could drop, if he ends up being frustrated and does something stupid, like bite someones ear off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Next what? Next year? Next full moon?

Agree0 Disagree0

If Arsenal had not been so stubborn with wage policy and spending quality players we would not be in this position having to spend 50m on only one of 3 tope quality players on the market (along with Rooney and Lewendowski). Higuain is good, but not in this bracket.

Noting that Rooney's wage will be 100k more than Suarez and Lewendowski is not Premier league proven. So Crazy animal Suarez is actually a fairly good option.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez is worth £40m, not £50m in my opinion. I would leave it and wait until the last few days and perhaps offer them Bendtner or Chamcrap as well. We should not be funding they screw ups (Henderson, Caroll). At the end of the day Suarez does not want to play for them and Real will not match our offer. Liverpool would be stupid to keep him.
Also after 6 matches with no Luis, Liverpoo will be near the bottom of the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want the player pay what the club is asking, don't try and skimp, Last season you got a great deal for Van Persie who was in the last yr of his contract. If you don't want the player for £50 million, then pull out. Suarez has got no class, and by playing his game Arsenal, are losing respect. Liverpool don't have to accept less than they believe the player his worth. I said well done to Arsenal on getting what they did for Van Persie. And I would say well done to liverpool in standing upto bullies.

we can't wait till the end of the transfer window to get a cheaper price for suarez because liverpool just keep him. Bid 50mil upfront with no ad ons and get him now

Just listening to Graham Hunter (journo based in Spain, usually knows his stuff)-

He was saying that RM have no intention of
making a bid for Suarez- right now they are determined to get bale this season and their money will be tied up with this deal (possibly the most expensive transfer deal ever).

However, if they fail to get bale and suarez hasn't signed for arsenal by then, they will then make a bid for suarez.

Basically, if arsenal are serious about signing suarez, they need to complete soon.

Believable43 Unbelievable14

No s**t Sherlock, that has been reported for the past several days

Agree2 Disagree0

Reports are stating that we have turned down an 8 million offer and we are holding out for 12 to make money on the 10.5 million we spend on buying him? Not sure how accurate. May Benard is not coming here that is why we are holding on to Gervinho for more money. Personally I think we should take the 8 million and run.
Canadian Gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

Agreed. Take the money and run!

Otherwise we'l end up with an Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh etc.

A non 1st teamer on high wages who barely plays a game.

Take the £8m and put it towards a transfer in!

Wenger did state in an angry exchange when he was under fire from supporters and media that Arsenal paid less than 10m for him. that's a rare admission from a man who never quotes prices paid or sold. Cash the chips. must be on a good 35-40k per week aswell. Hope it doesn't fall through. that's a large chunk of cash we have taken of the wage bill. Must be in the region of 250k - 300k per week. All we need now is to buy some quality players and promote a couple of the kids to the squad. km

Ed do you have any news regarding Bernard because his club just said he was leaving and so did he pretty much thanks in advance {Ed001's Note - I don't have anything new to add, he is of interest to a number of clubs, it seems he might be Napoli's next target, which is probably not what you want to hear after they got Higuain!}

This Napoli rumour is BS.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would Bernard 'the new neymar' want to play in Italy let alone Napoli. Higuain suits Italian football but Bernard has so much more to offer. Brasilian attacking players hardly have a good record in Italy lately. (Robinio anyone) and I don't believe Italy would be his first choice and he will certainly have some choices

Agree1 Disagree1

And brazilians have a good record in england?

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think he is arsenal bound

He has 5 offers believed to be Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Porto and Shaktar

This is what his agent said.

Bernard just said in an interview following his team's victory in the SA version of the Champions League that his future will be decided tomorrow. Local announcers at Globo television said he is set for Arsenal.

He played very well on the final, his team overcame a 2x0 deficit to win at home.

Us of course. So looks good to me.

Arsene wenger will try to sign Suarez by friday before Real Madrid uses the funds they made from Higuain to buy him. Arsenal may miss out on all their target.

Believable65 Unbelievable31

It will take longer than that. Even if he signs that is. Wishful thinking

Agree0 Disagree0

Just my opion but I don't think madrid want saurez looks like there set there signs on bale {Ed052's Note - They want both}

Agree2 Disagree0

Madrid can't afford both
30m on Isco 30m on the other DM 85m on Bale = 145m + wages can they really afford another 40-50m on Suarez --- Spain is skint {Ed052's Note - No they cant, that's why I don't see them getting Bale unless Ronaldo goes (or lots and lots of other players go). And Hig should finance a deal for LS}

Agree0 Disagree0

RM want Bale and cannot afford both. Higuain was not that vital for them Ronaldo is their main goal scorer. They will not buy Bale and Suarez and will not have a mass clear out to fund both. Who else would they sell? {Ed052's Note - There are a few other players. I expect them to offer a player, plus cash for LS}

Agree0 Disagree0

When has not being able to afford a player ever stopped Real Madrid from buying him? They are bankrolled by the provincial government in the Madrid area and the banks extend easy credit on a revolving basis. They owe so much that the banks are frightened to foreclose and get nothing back so they just roll the loans over for a 'steady interest income stream' off the back of shirt sales, gate and TV money etc.

Their iconic status means they can basically borrow and spend what they want, whenever they want. So much for FPP. Just another 'Sugar Daddy' club but with a regional government instead of an oligarch or Sheik splashing the cash.

CECEGUaW

Agree2 Disagree0

I think Arsenal are going to look to out-bid Real Madrid at any price and I think it will be massively down to stubbornness because of the Higuian fiasco.

I ain't complaining though!

P. S there's pretty much no chance of it happening by Friday!

Agree1 Disagree0

There is pretty much no chance of it happening at all.

Agree3 Disagree0

Sly Sports reporting that Real Madrid have withdrawn interest in Suarez, favouring to now use Alvaro Morata and Jese Rodriguez instead. I think they're going balls to the wall with a bid for Bale and won't be able to afford Suarez. I hope we get him, he'd be lethal at Arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree0

He'll come to arsenal. His first choice was Madrid but he's happy coming to us to get champions league and play under a manager who has a clue.
Rumour is that Madrid wouldn't offer more than £35m for him anyway.

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Morata and Rodriguez instead of Suarez! Interesting.

Agree0 Disagree0

I keep seeing reports that the latest bid is along the lines of £35m + £5m add ons.

My question is how does this activate a clause of £40m? I know the total is £40 but the add on's likley includes things like appearances etc so is no way a guaruntee that this will be paid. So they total paid would be less than £40m.

Just for example Messi has a reported 250m release clause, what is to stop a club offering £1m + £249m add ons based on various things that may never happen. I'm sure i'm just missing something so if anyone could explain?

Agree0 Disagree0

A release clause must be made up of a full transfer fee. E. g. £40m.

An offer of £35m plus add ons of £5m DOES NOT activate the release clause as they are stipulated and based on future events that may or may not occur. E. g. £1m for winning the champions league.

That is why Arsenal offered £40m plus a token £1 in order to activate the clause. However, there is some debate as to what type of clause it is.

A release clause can also be activated by an offer of (for example) £40m that is paid over installments, as the club will still recieve the total amount required.

Hope that helps? {Ed052's Note - A 'speaking clause' is what I've dubbed it!}
