Following speculation throughout the press, the most likely transfers in and out of the club are as follows:
In: Samba, Melo, Benzema
Out: Squillaci, Denilson, Diaby, Rosicky, Arshavin and Bendtner
NB: Some other squad players may be sold, with youngsters also being loaned out.
Interestingly, there are strong rumours that Alex Song could be sold this summer - this is despite one of his best seasons so far in my opinion.
Best XI:
Szczesny
Sagna Samba Vermaelen Clichy
Melo Wilshere
Walcott Fabregas Nasri
Benzema/Van Persie (can be rotated)

FACT schweinsteiger is entering the final year of his contract at Bayern - says so on their website.
He has said himself before that if he did leave germany he would prefer a london life, as would his missis.
Bayern want bendtner and clichy supposedly, both of whom can be replaced.
We would benefit massively from a player like scweinsteiger in our mid field, especially if fab goes.
Wenger could do far worse. . . . .

Buffon has a cluase in his contract to do with Juventus relegation so he can leave for free!
25 May 2011 17:38:33
Just to fill a few people in a contracts. When Benzema signed for Real in July 2009 he signed a six year contract so he is not coming into his last year.
Also buffon's contract doesn't run out until 2013.

higuain will be a arsenal player on june the 1st forget these benzema rumours! !
25 May 2011 16:47:56
i hate to say it but nasri is off to man united in the summer for 20m he doesn't want to sign a new contract and AW has said if he and clichey don't sign a new contract they will leave.
also we won't be signing benzema that red nose fergie has beat us to it, he has been after benzema for along time and he doesn't want to lose out to a rival prem team
to the good news though and we will be signing hazard, unknown argentina kid, and falcao (money we get from nasri)
25 May 2011 16:12:00
Arsenal will buy a new spine to their team beginning at the back. Two central defenders will be signed, cahill and samba and a left back may be bought to replace clichy however I think wenger has faith in gibbs who I personally don't think is ready yet.
We won't lose nasri. He will sign a new contract soon but fab is on his way. I don't think that is necassarily a bad thing. He is obviously quality but his attitude has been crap this season and if he is here next year he will become a hindrance.
I read on here the other day that we may get scheeinsteiger for nick b plus cash. I think he would fit into our team perfectly and at over 6foot our mid field is crying out for someone like him. More likely w'e will get parker but would love de rossi or schweinsteiger.
If we could land benzema he would be excellent with van persie and being fed by a mid field of wilshere, schweinsteiger and nasri with song sitting behind would be awsome.

Time to shed some light on the Benzema Situation. .
I did some digging and found multiple newspaper sources directly linking the player to us:
'Signing [Karim Benzema] does not seem impossible, " says Wenger in the Sun and the Mirror. "He's a player that I like." Benzema only has a year left on his contract at Real Madrid and could leave for as little as £7m.'
'Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the 23-year-old, and while he was unsurprisingly not prepared to part with the £35million it took for Real to lure him from Lyon, he may be tempted at a knock-down price.'
However i have to say many of the sources suggesting this move are not the most reliable of newspaper *cough*The Sun/The Metro *cough*.
Despite this there has been links to Benzema in the past and there is truth in the facts that Arsene Wenger admires the player in a press conference. He has said
"Signing him does not seem impossible. He's a player that I like. He's a player who's at the top level in the world."
In my opinion Benzema would be an ideal signing for Arsenal this summer due to are lack-luster attacking play in the second half of this season and with Nasri potentially on his way out this would only damage our attacking finesse more.
Benzema would bring strength and finishing ability to our front line and would leave the gunners with two in-form strikers who can potentially score 20 goals per season each. I also believe from watching his style of play he would fit in nicely with the squad and of course with Van Persie. The added bonus of course would be i f Nasri stays and we obtanied the French duo that tear apart other international squads, on a regular basis, on the internationl scene.
So to answer my original question and shed some light on this rumour seems impossible at this time however some real intrest has been shown in the Madrid star. We can only sit a wait, nervously, as Wenger, as usual, is holding his cards close to his chest.
Any opinions on the Ed? {Ed001's Note - I am trying to remember Wenger ever talking up a player that he then went on to sign. My memory is not the best, but I just can't seem to think of an instance from the past. But he has shown willing to pay over the odds for a player he really wants, Arshavin for instance. It is a difficult one to call, but a lot will come down to if Wenger feels Benzema would be a regular starter or not, as Benzema is asking for first team assurances.}

Barcelona are training at Arsenal training ground. The relationship has been better lately between the two clubs.
Wenger seems keen on Benzema. Perhaps he is going to sell cesc and use that money to bring benzema.
Benzema and Nasri link brilliantly on the international stage.
Alvarez has been confirmed on US fox soccer as a player Arsenal FC (London) have signed - possibly a Denilson cover? He will not start but bench player for sure.
If Bolton Lower their valuation of Cahill, he could be an arsenal player soon.
But the Benzema to arsenal will be one big merry go round.
First Real or chelsea or Man City need to land Aguero
second Wherever Aguero lands eg. Chelsea then Drogba needs to move to Real.
Only then will they be open to a sale point.
Apparently its not mourinho who wants him out according to the papers, its madrid management. Basically he does not sell the shirts as much as Higuain, Ronaldo, Ramos, Xabi, Oezil, Di Maria, and may not do so with Benzema on the bench.
25 May 2011 10:02:20
the talk of Karim Benzema is getting a bit more believable. all this 30 odd million talk is rubbish tho. Benzema is about to enter the final year of his contract. call it a rumour or a hunch but i see that Nasri will LEAVE arsenal. he is in the same position as benzema in terms of contract. and as wenger has stated he will NOT let another Flamini situation happen. see where im going here?? would a straight swap between Nasri and Benzema be out of the question. We could certainly cope without Nasri and we certainly need a quality striker. and if this alvarez deal is true you have your nasri replacement.
with both these deals totaling ZERO pounds the kitty could go further with the defensive needs.
i believe this is the shortlist in order of preference
1 phil jones
=1 phil jagielka (both jones and jag to be bought in)
2 nevan subotic
3 Robert Huth
4 gary cahill (poor 2nd half of season has put him down the order)
if none of these happen expect a return in interest for brede hangeland
and in terms of the gk situation BUFFON on a free is a dstict possibility. the perfect teacher for szcysny
so
Buffon free
jones 10mill
jagielka 10 mill
alvarez free
benzema swap with nasri
5 players in, 20 mill spent. its got arsene wengers style written all over it

"mourinhio wants benzema but the real madrid president wants to get rid of him. if benzema stays expext higuain to leave united and arsenal could be possible destinations"
Actually Mourinho wants Higuain and wants to get rid of Benzema and the board want Benzema and would part with Higuain.
Either at Arsenal would be a good piece of business.

25 May 2011 05:44:54
Transfer update;
So denilson, bendtner and clichy definitely leaving. So who to replace them with.
Denilson already covered with the signing of ricky Alvarez but aw could bring in extra.
Bendtner to bundesliga or Italy were his play style is more suited, I believe that wenger will put his finger in his pocket and spend on benzema we must remember last year arsene made £24m bid for reina so it is possible.
Lastly clichy, he will go to inter or bayern for peanuts and I believe arsene will look at Baines (HG) or van der wiel.
Over movement; expect loads more youth bought in from around the globe.
Out possibles;
Nasri (no contract agreement??)
Arshavin
Fabregas
Ins including above;
Hazard (either this summer or next possible pre contract??)
Cahill and or samba
Possibly another midfielder with slot of technical ability to replace fab if he leaves.
Would love to see De Rossi but its unlikely.
