Just off the phone. Nothing much to add but it looks increasingly likely Theo is leaving.

We are looking at a winger AND a striker. Previously I stated that it'd be either or but after our lack of incision from those areas my source claims the club will take any opportunity to sign in both areas. One target plays for Shakhtar.

He maintains a big signing has already been completed.

Potentially four players if Theo leaves. Three if he stays.

Arsenal are looking to bring in a versatile defender who can play full back and centre half, as well as a defensive midfielder and another striker. The deal for a winger is with regards to Arshavin being sent out on loan or sold then he will be replaced. The most confident and concrete name I can confirm is Yann M'Vila who will sign for us this week. Josh09

I agree with ibster re: reliable sources such as AFCAMDEN stating that Theo talks aren't going so well....

Some saying Theo starting on the bench was a sign of contract stalling....I beleive it was a tactical decision by AW to tire the big ugly men from Stoke, then bring on both speedsters (Oc & Theo). Time will tell!

Rumors of Arsenal being linked with Bastian Schweinsteiger seem to be mainly focused on this site and a few rumblings on twitter.

With over 200 appearances for Munich and almost 100 caps for Germany, if there is anything in this then it would be a big signing for a special player. BUT¦

¦I just can't see this happening, Schweinsteiger is contracted to at least 2016 and is a key player of Munich.
Anything less than £25mil (silly money to Arsene) would not be enough to tempt Bayern.

I can confirm a 10 million euro bid has been submitted for Bayer Leverkusen's Lars Bender.

Chelsea never enquired about Bender, they were chasing A.Schurlle.
D is right though, B.Munchen were quoted Euro's25-28m hence their decision to pay that little extra in chasing Javi Martinez(Bilbao) instead, because his versatility to play CB also.
I'd be surprised if we were to pay big money for a player who is yet to prove himself on top stage regularly and also even though he is more versatile he is not as defensively sound as his brother Sven Bender (BVB Dortmund).
I'm not convinced if Scheinsteiger rumours are even close to being true or if we even need that outlay on his type, yes he's a leader but also a moody git and bloody expensive, if we were gonna spend big then Goetze would get my nod

AFC transfer dealer Richard Law spotted in Germany according to Twitter.

Putting this together with what I've been told about Schweinsteiger things are looking promising. I'll admit I trust my source but I'm still massively sceptical about this deal as there is no precedence whatsoever.

Positive news though.

Will call him after the game today for any possible updates.

PS. I broke this story but for some reason the other sign off I used never showed. Maybe something to do with it being all numbers? I don't know. Glad to see this fella Frank say the same. Makes me more confident. My name is Noel btw.

OMG, we have spent over 35M on forward players and we are totally useless in front of goal. 2 points from Sunderland and Stoke is just not good enough and if we do not spend big this week, then this season will be a write off before the end of August. On a positive note, the defence look solid even without 2 regulars. {Ed035's Note - I agree, our defence looks solid since Steve bould has come in but today proved we need a clinical striker, if we make only one more signing I would love it to be a top class striker..

Please god. That would be an amazing signing.

Yes, but when DB10 was misfiring, the rest of the team were scoring. At the moment, our shooting is pathetic. How many saves did Begovic have to make?? I can only think that we do not practice shooting in training.

I don't disagree that our shooting wasn't what you'd expect however when we brOught DB10, we had just sold our only goal scorer. Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed that RVP has gone however it was too good a deal to not sale him if he didnt want to play for us. The new players need a little time to bed in

Wenger interested in Cabaye, Ben Arfa as well as Tiote. Obviously wouldn't get all 3, but he would take any one of them. Cabaye & Tiote are thought to be the main targets though

Wenger to get the sack if he doesn't win his next game, genuine.

Can you see us paying Newcastle prices? Ben Arfa, Tiote and Cabaye surely £20m minimum each?

we being in tiote and mbiwa then I'd say we would have had an extremely successful summer window and I'm sure podolski and giroud will come good and tiote is perfect prem experience dm who would fit in great at arsenal plus Hes the perfect peak age to not effect our young dm's too much plus Hes in his prime

I think mvila would be better option. he passes ball much better than tiote and he would add strenght to our squad. i think aw sholud go for him instead of fellaini and tiote. mvila and mbiwa and we have almost whole france national team in our squad:)
