One purchase Arsenal will not need in the summer will be in the striking department. Van Persie will sign a new contract and Wenger will follow the path he pursued years ago with Thierry Henry and move Walcott from the wing to a central role. As a winger his final ball isn't great. What he CAN do is pass the ball into the net...

I think sturridge will come

I could not wait for Match of the day so had a look at the goals on footytalk with a foreign comentary, plenty of playbacks and it clearly show's Bale was not touched and he dived. RVPs goal was amazing as its going left and then bends, i am going to try that tomorrow with my plastic ball.
My live streaming let me down today so had to be satisfied with the radio commentary, nice to hear Pleat say we were the better team. Can't wait M.O.D is on soon, then i will be able to see it all on the big screen. Fantastic.

Where do you stream?

Is it an internet connection issue or is it the site?

I have a site I tend to use that is fairly reliable if the game is on SNWL (formerly Setanta) here in Canada.

James

James, I live about an hour north of Malaga and no i am definately not Malaga gooner. My connection is ok but sometimes slow so make's streaming freeze & plus break up.
The sites that i try are ATD, Ronaldo7 and Firstrow sports (which has now been stoped) but it's allways a bit hit and miss. James let me know if you have somthing better. Funny thing is i could get good coverage of the NFL games when thay were on.

fantastic result and game today- it was great to see (in the main) the fans get behind the team, even when 2-0 down- we could sense that something was going to happen, there was a believe amongst the fans imho that we could claw back (and some in the end). It was really the best atmosphere I've seen at the emirates for a while.

Not to take away anything from today's performance, but this summer is still going to be as important as it ever was- for me one great result doesn't paper over the cracks...otherwise that would kinda makes us like the spuds- average season, but hey at least we beat the spuds- we're bigger and better than that.

I don't think we're too far off...as other's have suggested 3-4 key/good signings will make us a force to be reckoned with again next season.

Believable22 Unbelievable0

Its ok saying that the summer is important, but unless we get a CL place, the players that we want will be that much harder to sign.Great result today,we watched it at our local, after the game we walked through town, and passed a pub that is known as the Spuds pub,It was dead,BRILLIANT!

liverpool cardiff ET is ideal for us. we have the early KO sat dont we.

hopefully liverpool dont score in it so they have to run there arse off.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

I am pleased the liverpool were pushed to ET. Looks like agger may have been injured.

Let's hope they celebrate a little too hard and are jaded by the 3rd!

Nonsence! hoping lpool are knackered so we can beat them, we can beat them anyway, based on there performance today there a very average team and still rely heavily on gerrard to give them something, if we play like we did today could be a goal fest for us

hope this is arsenals strongest team by the summer...

yhis ius a great team!!

Believable2 Unbelievable33

Samba just signed for a new club. and you should switch some of these positions mate.

Samba has signed for zenit mate

The same samba who just signed for anzhi?

Kos will retire a Gunner legend.....

so again....no

US Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I think our defense is alright. At most I would take another LB, but otherwise I am happy. Kos and Vermaelen are a good pairing.

What was evident today is that Arsenal need a quality CAM, to really spark the quick passing game. Rosicky played the best game of his arsenal career and we need a player with the class to do that week in week out.

Song Wilshire
CAM

Hazard was given a great reminder of why players come to arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

And no rosisky, yes he had a good game today but his time has come to move on in my opinion! I would like to see someone like Leighton Baines or Chrischito from Zenit at left back aswell, Gibbs/Santos arent up to much for me, defence today again majorley weak at times, Wiltshire will be like a new signing but need someone else incase hes injured, someone mabey with a bit of experience, i think RVP needs another striker to play with aswell not another winger, we have been lucky hes been injury free this year but if he hadnt been we wuda been screwed!! The Giroud boy would be a better signing, less money

Agree0 Disagree0

Even is samba weren't in Russia you couldn't put him ahead of Kos. Our defencive players are very goos individuals there just poorly trained. Pat Rice out!

Agree0 Disagree0

Samba is crap anyway he is wreckless hence why hardly any of the top clubs wanted him! a good left back and we'll be sorted keep vermelen and kosheil

Agree0 Disagree0

Podolski would be better then Giroud

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with most of the comments here. Our defence is OK, remember Gibbs has been thrown in at the deep end with Milan, Tottenham and a Sunderland side who had only lost once at home. He had a great second half, both attacking and defending. A fullback should never take priority, Podolski and Giroud for me as Podolski could replace Arshavin and Giroud could replace Chamakh. Potent is the word.

In Arsene I Trust.

Sorry mate but you missed Kos.... Silly if you don't think he's better than Samba...

4 signings to come in the summer, and we will finish in top 2. As for you spurs Boys with all your mouthing off,you beat us know and again but when it really matters we win. HA F--ckin ha GUNNERS 5 SCUM 2 and they were lucky to get 2. Well done Lads Very Proud Arsenal fan tonight.

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Nothing better than beating the spuds and to come back from 2 down seeing them dirty yidos with big smiles on there faces to nearly having tears in there eyes now to take third place from the scum. gunner gaz for life

Wenger will make 4 signings inthe summer, yann m'vila, eden hazard, podolski, vertonghen. he knows what we need and they will be brought. this would cost 55m but we will get 45 in sales. i believe RVP will stay.

Believable18 Unbelievable15

We'll be lucky to get 2 of them for 55 million

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not convinced we need all 4 of these signings. Frankly, I am not particularly interest in Podolski. He will be unhappy on the bench and does not have the workrate the premiership requires.

M'vila a great player, but with Song/Frimpong/Coquelin - we dont need him.

Vertonghen not needed either. We have good CB options in Kos, Vermaelen, Merts, Djourou - Miquel for CC.

For me we need a good impact striker (Giroud - wants to come) and we need a WORLD CLASS CAM.

If we can get a player that can regularly perform like rosicky did today, we will be unstoppable.

Hazard
Gotze
Belhanda
Diego
etc...

Looks like dumping Arshavin and playing Benayoun was a master stroke!
Just hope we continue like this the rest of the season.
Even Gibbs was solid

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Arshavin probably would have been benched anyway. sorry to say but no master stroke. just pure attitude in our game this time.

Stefan

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to say I think Benayoun is awful. Arshavin is only a close 2nd. I'm glad he was given a decent chance, but he was rubbish.

just noting something-7-1 result against blackburn and 5-2 result against s* both had something in common: Ramsey didn't play a single minute! He slows our play down with his fancy turns and bs. Rosicky and Benayoun are tanks and should definetely be bought/new contract(they're happy to be on the bench too).

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Problem Is Age Isnt On Their Side.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Rosicky has been playing well, but is still inconsistent from week to week. You can't blame it all on one player, Ramsey came on the other week and scored the winner, hardly slowing us down

Gunner89

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point, but as noted above, Neither Rosicky or Benayoun have the lung to burst week in week out ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not a fan of Ramsey either. I do this this is as good as he's going to get. He'll make a decent career for himself at someone like Everton or Newcastle, but not Arsenal. Sorry, but I do agree that Rosisky is largly past it and I think Benayoun was nothing more than some guy on the pitch on Sunday

amazing game, but honestly scared against liverpool at anfield next week. No RVP and no Arteta. Hopefully they lose now and have a massive confidence dip...

Believable3 Unbelievable6

No RVP and no Arteta?

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP will play - it was his fifth yellow

(i) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and 31 December (including any FTCM played on that day) in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: - One First Team Match

(ii) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - Warned as to his Future Conduct

(iii) If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the second Sunday of April in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering:- Two First Team matches"

Why no RVP and arteta next week

Rosicky Was Insane to day, someone finally took responsibility in the middle of the park for us. well done lad!
tbh i thought he's been good for us and getting slightly better, has had a couple bad performances aswell though, but i guess if the whole team plays bad you can't do much as just 1 player

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Rosicky is good. Often when team plays bad he is only one playing good or even trying to... doing his best, making effort

26 Feb 2012 15:52:51
Sagna, Rosicky and Benayoun all played really well. I'd keep the same midfield against Liverpool except change Walcott for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Believable11 Unbelievable16

Surely play on his new found run of form?

In Arsene I Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely after today Walcott will keep his place?! If it ain't broke don't fix it

Ed, are Arsenal still interested in Yann M'Villa? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Believable25 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2012 09:01:27
will gotze join arsenal {Ed002's Note - Possible more than probable. Dortmund have bought Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid and this will almost certainly result in Goetze being available in the summer. Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club although Goetze has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan - who I suspected were shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}

Believable14 Unbelievable3

Think there is more chance of arsenal beating AC Milan 5-0 in CL then getting Gotze...

Agree0 Disagree0

If we only ahve 55m to spend though I doubt it, although Stan Kronker has bullsh*tted just in time about how he'll give Wenger 100m to spend, right around season ticket renewal time.

Row Z

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a mate who is a doutmund fan,he says there is a chance of gotze leaving because the club is desperate to lower there debt.
the club want 40 million euros
but where will he go
i have not seen much of him but he thinks hes going to be the next huge thing, even more so than hazard.
jack the hat

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed,with the ffp rules is there any 1 out there who could afford gotze and what would you think would be the final fee with agents and wages {Ed001's Note - of course there is, there are a number of teams that are in profit. No idea what the fee etc is, why would it matter?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually think gotze may stay. BVB will probably win the league. They have shown profits for the year, brought in a quality player in Reus, made a 2nd signing as well. This club is probably matching his ambitions for the moment.

BVB are the Barcelona of Germany.
