Question for the Eds, or anybody who can answer.

when managers are interviewed, they always say B*rclays premier league, as opposed to just premier league.

Do you think they get paid a fee to mention the sponsors name?.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - no dags, but they may be instructed to mention the brand as part of the sponsorship..

Thanks Ed

Its probably just dotting the is and crossing the t's dags.

we all know managers and players are trying to just talk to the press and give them enough to write about without creating to much attention (like keegan, holloway etc were famous for) because its generally unwanted. Hence most interviews sounding the same i'd guess "we really dug in a worked hard for the fans today" etc etc as oppose to "im absolutely shagged, and charlie adam has tried break my leg today so ill get him back in the return fixture". you get the idea :)

Agree1 Disagree0

Is that the same as just had a "Barclays." Can you get paid for mentioning that? LOL

hi Ed,
Is there any interest in Mario Balatoli? rumours are Milan are willing to sell him this summer?

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed025's Note - none whatsoever mate..

Basically due to our new sponsorship deal with Puma, there are rumors linking us to the him, Puma have suggested that we will get him at a cut price deal. as he has is also sponsored by Puma

Reading some papers today there are suggestions that Balotelli could be virtually a done deal for Arsenal or Spurs. This is a guess but I would say if he were to choose it would be a Champions League team for next season. I know we could do better I'm sure. But I wouldn't be over dissapointed after all the let downs we have had.
Then again I see Balotelli as more of a character than a top striker. Loic Remy is still looking like a target for us too.
Now that one baffles me as we could have had him ages ago along with M'Vila if my memory serves me right.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

I would love us to sign Balotelli, Remy & M'Vila. If somehow we could retain Sagna, Fabianski & Vermaelen. We would only be a couple of players off a team that could seriously challenge for the PL & CL. In my opinion these would be Paul Pogba & Caulker (good cover).
Of course this will not happen!

Agree0 Disagree3

My option of strikers would go something like.

Benzema
Morata
josip Drmic
Balotelli

Im not against Balotelli, I think he is a top class player, however i'm not sure if anyone can rescue him. he just seems too lost to fight for him.

his laziness will drive us nuts, however with the service he will receive from our midfield he could thrive.

in any event he should be out 2nd or 3rd choice, and also for a reasonable fee, as it will be a gamble if anything.

how time changes perception, few months back I was all over him to sign him up, now he's just proven he belongs in an asylum

Another query for our esteemed eds. Greizmann seems to have taken Draxlers spot as our preferred winger come striker target, is this about right?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst the kid has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea; and Manchester United and PSG having the player watched on more than one occasion.}

Should get both Greizman for left wing Draxler for the Henry role!

Hi eds,
With the rumours linking us to Balotelli, what are the chances that the real target is El Shawarry? We've apparently inquired about him in the past. I've asked here about him before too, as I reckon he is class and would slot in perfectly. Chances?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal and PSG would all like to strike a deal with Milan at some point but El Shaarawy is generally happy where he is and Milan have no intention of selling unless a very significant offer is made. Previous interest from Monaco and Spurs remains unconfirmed and Napoli dropped out of the running over the summer when they signed Callejon, as did Manchester City when they signed Jovetic. Do not be surprised to see an offer from Dortmund, or just possibly Chelsea if they cannot get another target.}

Just seen from the Express - slightly less unreliable newspaper - that Milan are willing to sell Balotelli to either Arsenal or Spurs. With the rumours of puma being willing to front some of the cash for this transfer I can only see there being one likely destination if this is true. Personally I still think that under the right manager that Balotelli will cool his head and turn into one of the world's best strikers.

Ed's any truth to this?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - he is available to anyone who wants him right now. Milan want rid. So far, the interest has been muted, shall we say. He is not playing well and causing issues, I know it is hard to believe of such a quiet lad, but he is, moaning and sulking, when he should be knuckling down and working hard.}
