It was a random french journalist that started this rumour with a tweet which he then deleted, just an attempt to get a rumour running, dad and agent were probably not even at the Emirates.

Yes news flash as none of you seem to have figured, matas dad IS his agent. he was there and this shoudnt be brushed off.

Unless his dad is a keeper, and thinking of signing, the rest is irrelevant. Last night only emphasised the problem we have. Yes, szczesny made some great saves, but tell me a keeper who doesn't. His first half flap at a simple cross, and second half rushing out the box to get a ball he never had a chance of we're the two most glaring instances of why we need a keeper so urgently. How can wenger not be prioritising this?

This has been reported in daily mail too. very exciting news and would be a great signing if we could pull it off. I think we need to strengthen other areas first but this would be a very welcome signing and a good sign of intention

{Ed022's Note - Just to stir the pot a little, Chelsea look like signing Porto winger Christian Atsu which might mean Mata is freed up for a transfer/loan. Let's hope Wenger doesn't let him slip through his fingers to Athletico Madrid...}

Interestingly Mourinho just stated that he would sell to PL opponents, so I wouldn't rule it out. I like Mata very much, it would be awesome to see him play alongside the likes of Cazorla, Wilshere, etc.

The ideal Mata Situation would be barcelona, where he could feature alongside messi and neymar in the front 3.

Jens and Jennings was at emirates as well but I don't think we will be signing them, mata would be great but carnt see it happening

News in that monaco activated kondogbia's relase clause, we are in for ozil, cabaye move is edging closer and hopefully we will get another striker maybe benzema.

There is no way we will be signing 3 more central midfielders

Just heard that Cabaye is in London. Arsenal Insider can you shed any light. Nows your time to shine :)

Honestly I hope so. I would love to see cabaye in a gunners shirt!

He's wanted to live in a world class city, play for a World class team.

all that remains is for arsenal to pay a world class transfer fee, according to pardew.

the word world class is so overused, I think every girl that gives me a tug over is world class at it.

according to the "newcastle chronicle" yohan cabaye has said he definitely wants to join arsenal.
not quite the defensive midfielder we are looking for but still a very good signing. will add more goals to our midfield and a very good taker of free kicks. up to you now arsene.

Im happy with this Rumor. The thing is, Even if Cabaye isn't the best player, he is very versatile and can play almost anywhere. In Arsenal the past couple of years, that is a very needed skill.

20 mil may be to much for Cabaye, but ehhhhh. *shrug*

I think that a bid of £16M would see Newcastle accept, perhaps another £2M in add on clauses.
