I only go after cars or houses o can afford and negotiate a price within range of the price quoted. I have never got a car or a house after disrespecting the initial price metioned.

Totally agree with Steve.
If I have £250,000 to spend, I wouldn't be looking at 6 bedroom mansions.

Dortmund have always said £60m, we knew that was the ball park price before we even began negotiating, why waste everybody's time if we are not even going to spend anything like that on the player?

And if we are, why come in so far off the mark with £44m and disrespect the club and player, not to mention our reputation and supporters?

Jelfy, you obviously are missing the point made by Dags and myself. If someone wants or advertises something / someone for a certain amount, that you are well aware of beforehand, you don't waste their time offering amounts that don't represent anything close. If we had offered 57 mil, the deal would have been done. It is widely expected if we offer 53 mil, it would be close to completion.

We know what is the figure, whatever it is, why don't we pay it. I thought you would know that. Who is making a mountain out of a mole hill, its fact. We have lost out on many players in the past because we have messed people about and ended up with the booby prize. that's the point.

Hi guys, I rarely post on this website but I always find myself glued to you guys during transfer windows. Really appreciate your insight btw ED 002.

I have a little conspiracy that I thought I'd share with you guys.

I think that Aubameyangs inclusion in the squad for Dortmund is a hard ball tactic on their end with the message pretty much being "stump up the money or you won't get him".

Just wondering what your guys thoughts are on my theory 😂

And on another note, Ed 002 or any other Ed's for that matter, what do you think of our chances of landing Aubameyang? And whether you think it's likely a defensive signing will happen this window?

{Ed002's Note - Aubameyangadingdong is in the Dortmund squad as he is a Dortmund player. Whilst he remains so he is available to be picked. So there is no conspiracy. I cannot quantify the "chances" of the transfer going ahead but they want him and the truly vast amount of baggage that goes with him gone. Arsenal know that the two other clubs recently approached about him are not interested primarily due to the baggage so are happy to try to negotiate a lower fee. It should be doable although I suspect Wenger would rather have seen the efforts go toward Benzema.

Arsenal has already signed a CB this window. I explained to another poster who wants the entire defence replaced that it won't happen. They have continued to show aninterest in other CBs but it would be disruptive to try and make too many changes mid season. An offer for the first choice was rejected and a knee jerk buy of the likes of Evans as cover is not Arsenal's tyle. A late offer for N'Zonzi would not be a shock.}

Rearrange the whole defence!? Knee jerk at its finest. Monreal is our player of the season and Kos despite ageing is nowhere near a poor defender. Bellerin's been through a rough patch but is clearly improving. Wouldn't say no to Evans but not sure he's better than Mustafi really either.

I'd be less frustrated with no DM purchase if we kept Coquelin, but now we really only have Elneny as a DM - which Xhaka ain't. Ozil/ Wilshere/ Xhaka is terrifyingly open as midfields go.

Guys, total misunderstanding regarding the defence, Wire as you state Monreal, Kos, Bellerin, are very good tidy players and would get in most teams but its what's behind them as cover that worries me. Who have we got really got in the squad to step up and be reliable, maybe its just me being negative but the defence has been neglected for so long that its going to take a while to sort it out and eds must have thought i meant they all needed changing. A few world class CBs is required with 1 this transfer window and again looking in the summer.
And yes a Class DM is also needed.
