Ed is it true arsenal are interested in tarrabit from QPR?

{Ed022's Note - Adel Taraabt went to the "Nicklas Bendtner School of Modesty. For him to come out and say "Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in me" doesn't hold much weight with me I am afraid. Plus he's ex Spurs which wouldn't go down too well...}

I love Arsenal to be premiership champoin at the end of the coming season, but the acting of the board and A.W, Arsenal will be out of top four .

{Ed022's Note - Wash your mouth out young man! That defeatist attitude is strictly kept to the Spurs banter/rumour pages thank you very much!}

Arsenal are close to completeting the signing of a hot prospect he hasn't proven himself at senior level but has been scouted and was rumoured to be wanted by many clubs but mainly by Arsenal and Tottenham, he is set to choose the team that he is a life long fan of Gooner power

{Ed022's Note - Well just remember, you heard it here first folks!! I was actually debating deleting this but then realised how informative it is. So much so it had to be posted...}

No bids for gervinho yet? Ok i give up. I'm just gonna wait and see who Wenger signs up cos he alone knows who will be at arsenal next season. But i am convinced our trophyless run ends next season. Gunners for life {Ed022's Note - Yes, unfortunately, it seems no bids have been made. However, the player is keen and hes rated at about £11m which is a Wenger priced player. If Wenger wants him aboard then a deal should be done!}

hi ed just wanted to get your view on arsenal transfer policy and the effects its going to have on our future.
we are about to start our 2nd rebuilding process in 6 years with are ist 1 being a disaster in my opinion, ok we played good football but no end result.
we cant afford to buy average players any more if we want to reach the CL in the future

{Ed022's Note - I think we can safely say that the standard of players signed over the last few years haven't been up to scratch. There have been some gems admittedly. Vermaelen stands out for me. Lets be honest. Not many people know that much about him and he's turned into a monster at the back. Then there was squillaci and many people wish they'd never heard of him. Or seen him in anything other than a Spurs shirt. On a positive, I think AW has seen the error of his ways and will change his transfer policy this summer.}

hey ed , will we buy a keeper and how many players do you reckon will come and go 5? and what happened to a good defender this is where we lost the season to teams like newcastle sunderland etc.....west brom : )

pessimistic gooner {Ed022's Note - Third post of the night regarding a keeper. No, don't think we'l sign one. Defenders wise, lot of names, most of which will be smoke screens. I expect one English/PL experienced defender and one unknown from Europe somewhere.}

its okay talking about all these attackers and creative players but our undoing was defence and goalkeeper any news on this sort of signing wenger needs to get some experience and none fancy players and what about a keeper any strong links ed? {Ed022's Note - I don't know if Wenger will buy a keeper. We all know the way he is with his players loyalty wise. He feel it "kills" players chances by signing players in the same position as "his kids" I seem to remember he didn't sign Xavi Alonso a couple of years ago because it would "kill Denilsons career" (Wengers own words!) Lets be honest. That worked out wonderfully...}

{Ed009's Note - there is no reason why signings couldn't be announced, but I imagine that simply for the outside chance of a complication they wouldn't be. Imagine the Arsenal fans if Benzema was announced, something happened and you ended up with 12 year old Chilean prodigy Alfonso Gunta who was "looking to break into the first team". Not pretty, is it?}

Ed could that mean that we have potentially already signed someone, I did hear that AW is known to not announce signings till up to weeks after they have been completed...

wenger to make a 16 mil bid for gary cahill 10 mil for ryan shawcross

where did you get that one from ? I can imagine the Cahill one being true and I think that he would be a decent choice for CB, it's also fair to say we have been linked to him hundreads of times, but 16m is still steep. Shawcross.....I don't think so

Ed022
dissapointed by your comments regarding fabregas, if you want to motivate the guy, sell the s**t around him, not him.
He has played whilst injured, he has been forced to play as a captain which clearly he is not, however he is a great player and to lose him would undeniably weaken the team.
Wenger always threatened to build a team around him and never did.
He has become a scapegoat to many of the fans that are to in love with wenger
ike.

{Ed022's Note - Great response Ike. I like the fact you have voiced your opinion even if it disagrees with mine! I was saying I don't think his heart is in it with us anymore. Especially the fact he wanted to leave last summer and that fell through. Admittedly, he is probably one of our top two players (along with RVP). However, I feel it maybe best for him to move on. No one player is bigger than the club. Remember Wilshere is the man now!! Haha. }

plus I really hope we sign Mata, he would work really well in our squad.

ED please give us some good news you must have a couple of strong rumours that your keeping to your self

{Ed022's Note - As an Arsenal fan myself I know how frustrating transfer windows can be! I can tell you what I know and you can do with the info what you like! Arsenal will spend some of their transfer budget on the contract renewals (for Nasri and possibly Clichy.) There are a lot of names been mentioned but the FACTS are Arsenal have NOT bid for Samba, Gervinho or Cahill...yet! Also, Arsene has said he will only sell Fabregas a) at the right price and b) when hes got someone signed as a replacement. With £19m bids for Phil Jones being put in recently, I have told me to expect one player in the region of £20m-£25m being signed to placate the Arsenal fans. Names mentioned are amongst others are Gourcuff, Mata and obviously Hazard. However, with regards to this...Only Arsene really knows!}

Believable10 Unbelievable5

27 Jun 2011 18:42:38
Ed, i have heard that wenger can spend around 70m.
But you are thinking that we have no money? You said that we can't compete with liverpool, i know for sure that we have the money to buy mata for 25/30m. Why do you think that we have no money? {Ed022's Note - To be honest I think we have the money (and have done for a few years) the issue seems to be Arsene and the board wanting to construct a deal over several years, payments spread out, incentives for international appearances etc...which often wind other clubs up. Especially those who need to money to reshape their teams. This is the key issue I feel. However, Liverpool probably have a bigger budget than us with full backing of their new owners. As for £70m...? Ill believe it when he spends it!!}

We have drawn up contracts....this is I would suggest fairly advanced. {Ed022's Note - I have passed your email address and IP address onto the relevant parties as I am sure you have broken some data protection laws here...}

Ed- Do you think this person has made this up our do you think they are really panicking for their job.. Also in your opinion do you think their is a chance of Arsenal signing one of Falcao, Benzema, Eto'o or Higuain? {Ed022's Note - My solicitors have advised me to issue a "no comment" in relation to the validity of the claim. I will leave that to public interpretation. On the Falcao, Benzema Eto'o links. I think Villas Boas will take Falcao to Chelsea. I think Bezema and Eto'o are possibly but Eto'o and Song don't get on and cant see that being good for morale. Anyone remember Gallas and Nasri? Or Gallas and Toure? Or Gallas and a mirror?}

I have heard that Daneille De Rossi is looking to leave Roma and the club are happy to let him go as he only has one year left on his contract. Also after his red card for use of an Elbow against Bari De Rossi was angry that Roma didnt back him. Arsenal and Man Utd are said to be favorites to get him. Hopefully a bidding war doesnt happen otherwise we wont get him. Apparently Roma will be willing to accept 18million. {Ed022's Note - Depending on who Man Utd get will depend whether they go for De Rossi. I think Fergies two main targets are Sneijder and Modric. I don't know if Wenger is keen on him anymore. There was some interest in the past.}

ed's who is mata more likely to sign for out of us and liverpool if it was just between our two clubs? {Ed022's Note - Liverpool have the money to offer where Arsenal always try and get the financial package that suits them, which as we know doesn't always work. Just want to let people know that if any young player goes to Arsenal in a swap deal for Cesc Fabregas Barca will put in a buy back clause. Barca have started to put that in all their deals for younger players. They agree a fee at the time and they can activate it within 3 seasons.

HI ed, thinking alot about the cesc situation the last couple of days, and this is my opinion on the situation.
barcelona will only pay between 30 and 35 million for him and its just not on seeing as torres went for 50mil, bent 28mil, carroll 35 mil i think we should call barcelona and cesc bluff and put him on the transfer list and who ever puts in the highest bid gets him.45 mil plus.
we have to dig are heels in we have to start showing the likes of barcelona that if you want 1 of our players who has 5 years left on his contract you will pay what we want or forget it.me personally i would let his 5 year contract run out on the bench. we made him the player he is WHEN BARCELONA LET US TAKE HIM FROM UNDER THERE NOSES, i dont think he has done nothing to repay the supporters he was thinking he would win a cup last year and walk away a hero but it didnt happen.
I COULD LIVE WITH HIM AT CITY BUT COULD HE LIVE WITH IT HIMSELF? {Ed022's Note - He would refuse to agree terms with anyone but Barcelona. It would be stalemate. Its us, barca or no-one. Personally I think he will go to Barca this summer.}

Mata or Hazard?

Wenger wont sign both but who would you prefer.

I would rather Mata. He would cost £18m - £20m whereas Hazard would cost £22m - £25m. Hazard the next Ronaldo and Mata the next Kaka. Hazard will leave after 2-3 years for £50m or so but I can see Mata staying for 5-6 years. Mata is quick, good crossing, can pass very well and can beat players very well. Hazard is slightly overated.

Ins;

Mata - £20m
Gervinhio - £13m
Cahill - £17m
Samba - £12m
Alvarez - £12m
Chamberlin - £10m

Outs;

Fabregas - £40m
Bendtner - £10m
Denilson - £8m
Almunia - £3m
Squillaci - 99p

Paddy {Ed022's Note - I'd push for the whole £1 for Squillaci...}

Gervinho - 10 million
Douglas costa - denilson + 7 million
Outs:
Rosicky - 5 million
Denilson - part of a swap deal for Douglas costa
Cesc fabragas - 39 million + thiago alacantra
Squillaci - 4 million

You forgot GK mate

{Ed022's Note - Mata - Possible. Alacantra - No chance. Samba - Maybe. Cahill - unlikely at the moment. Gervinho - Yes. Costa - No.} {Also Shakthar have already rejected Denilson as any part of a transfer. We'd be very lucky to get £4m for squillaci!!}

ed what are the chances of mata sighning {Ed022's Note - Depends. Wenger is definitely keen. As usual if a deal can be negotiated (and we all know thats a big IF) then possibly he could sign. Liverpool were very keen but seem to have gone quiet. If they, or any other big teams get involved we won't be able to compete.}

Ed, do you reckon the Gervinho deal is complete because it has died down recently and I'm just wondering if Manchester city have pipped us at the post.

AR34 {Ed022's Note - Lille President Michel Seydoux came out today and said I have spoken to Gervinho and he wants to for Arsenal next season. A deal now needs to be formed between the clubs" He did hint that Arsenal HAVEN'T actually made a bid yet!!}

ED-should we just forget about hazard or can we still put him in our teams?

and also if barce do bid for fabregas is it true hat thiago might be in the deal or is it made up nonsense

{Ed022's Note - Thiago is being tipped by some at the Nou Camp for having more potential than Fabregas. That being said it would be unlikely for him to be involved. With regards to Hazard, I would love him signed but the deal has to be right for Wenger and at the moment, the price is too high. I might suggest the price will only increase with age/experience/performances so I would like Wenger to sign him up! NOW!!}

Apparently Wenger has been questioning N. Warnock about promising players from the Championship in an effort to bring more young improvers to the team.

Warnock is believed to have recommended Connor Smith (watford) and luke Williams (M'boro)

Both players are young and enthusiastic but inexperienced and so fit the requirements of the Arsenal Manager.

we all know Jenkinson has been signed for £1m, samba will follow suit in 2 days for £11m.
The deal for Alvarez for £12m is done and the £10m bid for Gervinho is close to being wrapped up, however the latter two deals cannot be announced til July 1st, when the international transfer window opens.
Expect further deals for Cahill, Chamberlain and possibly Scott Parker, though I think Spurs might get there first with Parker.
Denilson, Rosicky, Bendtner, Clichy and Almunia will leave soon, we'll have to wait for a suitable offer to come in for Squillaci, and I'm afraid that with the arrival of Alvarez, fabregas will finally be sold to Barca, for between £35-40m.
With Bellerin, Toral and possibly the German youth international striker (forgot the name) being signed, the young gunners are also looking solid after the likes of Aneke, Ozyakup and Miquel pledged their futures. I hope Bartley, Botelho and so on can do the same.
Neil.

Fist of all Barca is not paying not even 35mil euros for Fabregas. Chelsea and Manc.City will pay 40mil for him an double his pathetic salary(wich Arsenal is paying to world class player as Fabregas is). Parker is player with 2 more seasons to play at most(but how?). Alvarez unproven. About rest AFC already has too many inexperienced kids. As Mourinho said just boys.
