Hi Ed’s any truth in the rumours that Barcelona want emery? And also have you heard anything about palacios from river plate thanks ed.

(b) Exequiel Palacios (CM) would be an interesting option but I am not aware of any approach from Arsenal to River Plate - who have been speaking to one Italian side about him recently. Previous Real Madrid interest has gone and an English side stepped back because they did not see the value at €20M and were concerned he would not be eligible for a Work Permit.}

Why would Barcelona want Emery? They can attract any manager in the world and Emery is second-tier at best.

It was an interesting report, to say the least, that Barcelona would want Emery, but he has a decent managerial record and has won trophies.
If Barcelona were to change managers, who realistically could they go for? Klopp and Pochettino have had decent seasons at their clubs, but could they be tempted away and in Pochettino's case he has yet to win a single trophy and I believe the Real Madrid job is the one he wants at some stage. I doubt Guardiola would return to Barcelona. It leaves a limited filed of top managers.
I believe Arsenal fans underestimate and underappreciate Emery, who had a difficult task, taking over the weakest Arsenal squad in decades, a fading team, who looked more likely to fall out of the top six than finish top four, which he missed out on by a point or two.
