Oh Valencia are ready, although reluctantly to sell their young star for a fee of £17.5 million and it is being reported that Arsenal have offered an amount that Valencia can accept. Valencia are not entirey enthusiastic about the move, but the technical secretary Bralui V zquez has refused to rule out the possibility by saying:

"We have a back-up plan in case Juan leaves. That's not just the case for Juan, though. We have a plan like that for every player. We have to be prepared if something happens."

Arsenal will bid about 18m euros and let him go or valencia will av 2 raise his wages for a large large amount which valencia demselves don't av.

Interested to know peoples opinion on this. Which paper do you find most trust worthy? If any.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

My vote goes to ...toilet paper.

Agree0 Disagree0

None. It's all guess work........ Arsenal tell potential players, to keep quiet until the deal is done. If they do not, the deal is off. Very clever, stops other teams trying to guzump them. Except Man city of course who want to buy everyone and Harry.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Guardian is usually the most trustworthy. Just stay clear of The Scum, The Daily Fail etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much money does wenger actually have to spend?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

About 2-5 mill..........

Agree0 Disagree0

According to the lastest accounts - He have available about 60m - Then what ever he makes from current sales - So if cesc goes and bentner that would take it to 110m

Agree0 Disagree0

He actually has a fair bit, because of his careful spending in past years, man city, man utd and chelsea all waste their money, massive signings that dont need to be made, arsenal however spend wisely and have plenty of money to enter a transfer marking splashing the cash

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 22:43:59
Am I the only one thinking Cesc would be more likely to stay with Mata signing?

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Mata in, Nasri out, Cesc stays - perfect solution

so a further bid for jagielka is being put together, lets hope it gets accepted. even if it gets accepted expect another cb arrival. not cahill (i dont think he has ever been considered) not samba as he is over priced. a bid for cash hungry birminghams scott dann will be made. he could arrive for as little as 5mill and could turn out to be the bargain buy of the summer.

i also believe if Mata does sign, Nasri will be sold for 20mill+ to either of the manc teams. theres no way wenger will let him walk away for nothing.

Arseal will buy Juan Mata for 18 million euros.

Arsenal will increase their offer for Jagielka - will it happen? i think yes but if not Samba will come.

Jose Enrique will also come in, he wants champions league and only Arsenal will offer that.

When Fab finally goes Mr AW will buy a late player, Benzema, just like the Henry deal.

This would be a good window for Mr AW and made all Arsenal fans happy...

If mata does sign before emirates cup will he play in it?

Believable8 Unbelievable5

If mata does sign (and thats a big if) then id imagine he would so he could be intergrated into the team ready for the newc game.

gary cahill is favourites to join us for 15 mil

Believable11 Unbelievable5

28 Jul 2011 22:02:40
According to guilleme balague in spain..the reason why mata can be had for 15 million is that he has a clause in his contract...its not a buyout clause.

So if arsenal match the 15 million...athletico have to pay him more money to keep him or close to 70K euros...and he expects them to not do it due to financial reason.

he also says no family members or agents were in london.
and arsenal are yet to submit a bid.

The speculation is that arsenal have made an approach and cesc future once agreed upon will turn their attention towards mata.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Mata plays for valencia

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 22:01:59
Been hearing the Mata story is false. The father (who is his agent) told Marca that we were stepping up our interest and that he was heading to London, but this is all a ruse to get Valencia to give him a new, lucrative contract. The dad doesn't want to go anywhere.

That said, if we smack 'im with a 20m bid, there's a chance we'll get our man. Wenger must decide if he's worth it so we can get on with buying some bloody defenders

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Well valencia dont have money. so its quite certain its a move they seek.

Apparently the Juan Mata 'entourage' all flew in for talks today. I'm the most pessimistic piece of work there is, but even I admit this speculation looks the most promising we've had for a while. Would be a splendid signing, should it be completed.

Just been reading some rumours on various sites about Arsenal being interested in LB Alvaro Pereira, having not heard of him before I dug around on youtube and saw some great talent.. granted all the clips on youtube are going to be his best bits but I would say he was worth looking into, definitely.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

He played in Romania, I am from there, and he was one of the best players in the league. But he is more of a left midfielder...he sometimes makes mistakes in defense, but very offensive and with a lot of grit. Would be a good option...

Arsenal are in personal contract's with Juan Mata(expect to be done by emitayes cup), Everton are considering Jagielka bid; if that falls through then Cahill WILL be signed and we also want a Lb- Jose Enrique i hope and Benzema would take us to Top of EPL

just a thought..if we are presuming fab is going and nasri is staying for 1 or more years and taking the central role he craves, would you rather we signed benzema up front or hazard out wide and push walcott through the middle?

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Hazard out wide n walcott upfront... hazard has amazing potential and is very young where as i believe as a ST walcott could surpass benzemas level

mata is not a replacement for cesc, cesc will be sold and replaced by eden hazard for a fee believed to be 15mil plus add ons increasing it to 20mil. before you say lille have already said they wont sell hazard and gervihno... the chairman also said that if a good offer came in then they will have to consider it.
a CB is definately going to be signed, jagielka is obviously the favourite but with a new increased bid between 13-15mil, it is likely to get rejected.
arsenal will them look to cahill, with also a bid in the region of 12-15mil, which should eventually get accepted... this may include a couple of loans aswell believed to be miquel and vela.
a lb is a possibility but doubtful.
also expect the sales of diaby, eboue, bendtner and almunia.
ryo will again be sent on loan as his permit is likely to get rejected (unfortunately).
likely squad:
schezny
sagna, jenkinson-RBs
verm, kosc, djour, cahill/jag, squall?-CBs
gibbs, traore, new lb?-LBs
song, frimpong-CDMs
nasri, wilshere, ramsey, rosicky-CM/CAMs
hazard, mata, arshavin, gervinho- LW/RWs
v.persie, chamakh, walcott, vela?- STs {Ed022's Note -

Believable9 Unbelievable12

'eden hazard for a fee believed to be 15mil plus add ons increasing it to 20mil' would not be a good deal for Lille, I expect whenever he is sold it would be for a minimum of £20 million, likely increasing to £25/26 million if a couple of teams are interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eden Hazard is not coming deal with it,

28 Jul 2011 17:06:27
My personal view on the best scenario that could possibly happen. Tevez is sold to Madrid we buy Benzema. Fabregas is sold to Barcelona we buy Mata. Nasri signs a extension as he is playing in his favoured position, Then we buy a defender and left back. My choice of left back would be Leighton Baines or Emiliano Izaguire. Centre Back Vertonghen or Jagielka. I would of also liked a cheap sub keeper with some experience to help Schzesney. Any suggestions for cheap keeper.

Schezesney
Sagna -- Vertonghen/Jagielka - Vermalaen - Baines

song Wilshere
Gervinho Nasri Mata

Van Persie and Benzema alternate.

Subs : Walcott, either benzema or Van Persie, Arshavin, Djourou, Gibbs , Frimpong, Sub Keeper.

Strong bench, Strong team. Or does anyone have a alternate formation i would prefer 2 strikers but who would you drop. I do feel Gervinho, Mata and Nasri would be immense,

{Ed022's Note - I amongst many others on here have been saying the Baines, Mata, Jagielka and Benzema foursome would ideally solve all problems currently. However a word of caution is (and these are rough prices) Baines £15m+ Mata £15m+ Jagielka £15m+ and Benzema £20m +. Would see us equal or break the clubs transfer record four times and spend roughly £65m. Can you honestly see that happening with Wenger and the board?}

Believable8 Unbelievable13

ED, they may cost £65m, but we should recoup Fabregas £40m, Bentner £10m & Eboue £4m. Total £54m, so the net outlay is £11m. We also have an outside chance of selling Traore & Squilacci as well However, if Wenger is to believed he stated that he wants to make 1 maybe 2 signings, one presumably a CB & the other as a Fabregas replacement, hence the Mata rumours, so I see no way Wenger will make 4 purchases.

{Ed022's Note - Net outlay of £11m...You mean we won't make or be in profit from a transfer window?! Shock horror!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am telling you ed we will spend over 70 mill this year i will even put money on it
mark wexford

{Ed022's Note - I hope you win the bet. I would be more than happy for those four signings to be made.. If anything i'd be over the moon! They're the signings I think EVERYONE wants to see. Seeing is believing though...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont forget clichy 7m and jet 1m.. bendy 10m eboue 4m fab 35m and then probably traore if another lb is signed...2m? thats nearly 60m recouped so even if you include gervinho and jenk 11m thats an outlay of roughly15-18m. even wenger could stomach that, surely

Agree0 Disagree0

We all need to stop dreaming, Wenger ain't gonna splash the cash history proves it. Probably 1 CB coming in now, Fabregas/Nasri will be forced to stay with both moving on next year to give Wilshire and Ramsey another year to bed in slowly.
Money they may lose for Nasri would be made up for by sale of Fabregas for £30m +

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really a rumour more of an observation rightly or wrongly Arsenal away day today at the armoury and again the number 4 shirt is on prime view in all the store now i am not that naive to think that we are not going to lose him at some point, but they will have to refund alot of shirts if they do sell especially if it is in as close a proximity as people say it will be.

Comments are appreciated but remember it is my opinion and judgement

{Ed022's Note - Why would they refund people's shirts? Everyone knows the situation and if they buy a shirt they do so at the risk of Cesc not being there. You failed to specify if the shirt had 4 on the back with Fab's name or just 4 on the back? In which case a name could be added later on...}

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Its not exactly the same as the Bendner situation he just made a random Bendtner decision... Its upto people to know what they are buying

Agree0 Disagree0

No1 in there right mind would want a CF shirt at the moment if people buy 1 it just shows how out of touch they are.

Agree0 Disagree0

I bought the Vieira redcurrant shirt 2 days after Wenger anounced in a press conference that Vieira would 100% be at Highbury that coming season, 3 days later he was sold. I phoned the club and asked for a refund since the manager had mis-led the fans - they said f*** off.

Just a note that this rumour "could" have some weight about it as a fan sued Reading FC when they sold Gylfi Sigurdsson and won so I wouldn't expect any club to potentially open themselves up to law suits and bad press.

ed i have a feeling were going to spend as much as 70 million on players this season even if nasri and cesc stay.
i think we will sign up to 4 more class players.
this is not a rumour more of a feeling..
what do you think ed
mark wexford

{Ed022's Note - I disagree on spending £70m even if Nasri and Cesc stay. Although I have been reliably informed by Dublin Gooner that Cesc will be leaving. If Cesc does go then I would suggest Wenger will try to appease the fans with a big signing.)

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Well if Dublingooner said it it must be true.... NOT

{Ed022's Note - I hope for the amount of abuse he will get his way that he's right!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly Dublingooner will start believing himself soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am very optimistic we will spend big money this year and i was 1 of the 1s who was calling for wenger and the boards heads 4 weeks ago, they no we have to spend to give us a chance of being able to compete next year if we fall behind it will be very hard for us to compete in the future.

Rumors starting around leeds Utd Henry Lansbury coming on a season loan, anythoughts? Also not in Germany with ure first team, a leeds fan, MOT.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

He was with the first team, He has played in a big tournament so is being rested Emirates Cup you will see the Lanz

{Ed022's Note - Personally I rate Lansbury and would like to see him given a chance. He is a gritty tough tackling midfielder. Oh and he's English! Give him a go but worst case, season loan at a mid to low end PL club.}

Own Coyle has confirmed that BWFC have had no offers for Cahill yet - if AW keeps flapping around like flapperhandski he will end up at one of the other big clubs

Ed - Do you think Coyle's valuation of £20m for him is realistic considering not many english players switch from one top club to another in the EPL, that is unless you are dumb enough to let his contract run down to one year lol

{Ed022's Note - I think I am right in saying Cahill is in the last year of his contract. Therefore I think that is why Wenger is haggling for a fee. If he can get Jags now and then Cahill for free in a year (or cheaper than now in January) then that is why he hasn't made a bid.}

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Cheers Ed,

Do you think Jag could still be on the cards, Everton always skint and surely Moyes needs a few more players to improve the squad his end too

{Ed022's Note - Jags is first choice with AW and I expect him to be an Arsenal player by the end of August...}

Agree0 Disagree0

If Wenger is interested in Cahill, I think he will go in late when Bolton will become keener to sell, rather than losing him for nothing next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would agree that Arsenal may make an offer of around £12 million for Cahill at the end of this transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has anyone realised that AW is building an all British back line again?
Jenkinson - signed
Jagelka - offer
Cahill - tracking
Gibbs - promoted
Baines - tracked
Bartley - being built up

Agree0 Disagree0

I said this ages ago (not trying to take credit just agreeing btw) Cahill knows that he will get his transfer even if he waits for Jan to swoop in for him. Coyle is playing hardball with his prized asset but the board will in the end force him to accept an offer or make him sign a new deal, BWFC havent got loads of cash, they are ok for a few bob, but arent rich by any means so common sense will prevail soon and AW will then make an offer OC knows the longer he holds out the more oportunities it gives other clubs to pay £17m for him, but no1 else will bid as they seem to maybe accept that he is AFC bound. Jags is AW first choice always has been so he will pay 15m+ for him on the nod and wink that cahill comes on a free if Coyle aint lent on to slash his price already.

AFC back line for 2012/13
Sagna, Jenkinson, TV5, Cahill, Jags, Gibbs, Baines, Bartley, Ozygupt

Forget Thiago Alcentara. It's not going to happen.

However, I would love for Arsene to take Javier Mascherano plus cash for Cesc. Another DM is badly needed as Song will be missing time for the ACN. Mascherano would be a huge lift to our squad.

Regardless, Cesc needs to be sold already. This ceaseless, "will he or won't he" speculation every summer is a huge, annoying distraction.

Matt from the States.

{Ed022's Note - Song will probably not be going to the ACN as Cameroon don't look like qualifying...}

Believable13 Unbelievable6

So you sell your best player because you dont want speculation? grow up and try and look beyond the media.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell Cesc because it's pointless to hold onto players that want to be elsewhere. I want players who are thrilled to pull on the Arsenal shirt, not ones who do so begrudgingly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Emmanuel Frimpong looks like he is going to be a good backup to cover DM.

Does anyone know whats happening with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. I think he would be a decent signing and would become a great player in a coupke of years.
Rumours have been saying that were close to signing Juan Mata for £15million. I think this would be a great signing because of the price.
But Arsenal need defenders and now Gael Clichy's gone I would rather see a new LB come in than Gibbs as i think he needs a couple more years to get there. Arsenal can score than goals but can't defend them, I think this was shown when we lost a 4 goal lead to Newcastle.
I think Arsene should consider Baines again or Jose Enrique, now that Enrique has shown he doesnt want to be at Newcastle.

Ed what do you think?

{Ed022's Note - In an ideal world we would sign Baines, Jagielka and Mata. Shopping done! However, we'l have to see what happens in the next few weeks.}

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Didnt he get injured and might miss the start of the season

{Ed022's Note - AOC injured his ankle in a friendly match on Wednesday. No timescale has yet been said for his return.}

Valencia will only listen to offers in the region of £17/22M.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 15:02:18
i dont know about the benzema rumours, but now i actually dont want him to come, i might sound crazy but we could put 25m to more use. we have plenty of strikers, dont forget theo is going to get his chance in the central role and gervinho will be there too, id rather purchase a centre back before any "big" signings, we must level out the quality of our team and our defence clearly isnt up to standards compared to our midfield and strike force

Believable16 Unbelievable9

I strong agree I prefer us playing 433 with van persie in the middle and now I beleive we have enought strength in depth for the wings and attack, I would much rather put the 25m towards Cahil and his wages and get a DM. I will however say if Van Persie has another injury hit season, then I would consider another world class striker, but that is what January is for. Also if defence is wengers priority how can be get Gevinho and maybe Mata before a solid CB. ( dont get me wrong im happy with both signings if Mata happens) but would sort out the necessary first. Fix the problems and then get the a accessories.
danny boiii

{Ed022's Note - I would just like to point out that the January transfer window is a terrible time to buy a "world class striker". There are so many reluctant clubs who do not wish to lose their best player. Also, if the player is world class he would surely be playing in the Champions League or worst case, Europa league meaning he would be cup tied for his new club. Personally, I would say, get them in over the summer and avoid all the issues.}

Agree0 Disagree0

True didnt take in to account being cup tied however if we were to say try benezma in january we could try get him on loans and focus van persie on champions league as gives him longer to rest and less games less strains ( less risk of injury). Also we could get an inform strike instead of taking a punt on one. Yeah will cost more and Arsenal being Arsenal and dont like spending but you see my point. Just to add aswell may lift team spirit as usually after january the team seems to dip so new big faces around that time may give a boost
dannyboiii

{Ed022's Note - I hear what you're saying but imagine bringing in Benzema now and being top of the league by Christmas and into the latter stages of the champions league by then? Not dip then. We'd be buzzing! Having Benzema available in the CL would surely be required?}

Agree0 Disagree0

True but image being able to rest stars for a champion league game and still be able to start with benezma. That would be lethal especially as you would not have to prioritise champions league over premiership. But see what you saying also means the two would be split alot and harder to form a partnership. But still im looking at it form a grey cloud silver lining point of view.
dannyboiii

{Ed022's Note - I just said Benzema would be able to play in the CL if we signed him now. Not January. You originally said "sign a world class striker" in January which would mean he would be cup tied and unavailable. Now you're agreeing with me! Make your mind up!}

Agree0 Disagree0

While being a great signing not sure his and Riberys off field problems would be welcome at Arsenal

Paul B

Agree0 Disagree0

What I am saying is that yes i am agreeing with you but worse case scenrio we get him in january, and we have Milian in the quarters on the wednesday and wigan at the weekend before we would obviously rest players for the milian game, however we would still be able to start with benzema up front. wouldnt that be great resting players but yet still being able to start with a player like Benzema.

listening to Graham Hunter (journo based in Spain) on talksport right now- said juan mata has a buy clause for 25mil euro's and he is talking with an english club...said his father , who is also his agent stopped taking his calls a few days ago- he reads into that as being that they are in negotiations... he strongly suspects mata will sign for arsenal- he added that he will fit so well into the arsenal style of play(apparently he is an admirer) , very talented and will 'light the premiership up'. We will see if this happens, but sounds very promising.

Im in two minds about this signing, it might be what arsenal are looking for attacking-wise, but say he does sign, and wenger makes him a bigger star, man city or barca will want to get him, but hopefully if that does happen, arsenal will be able get another like him? ..

{Ed022's Note - Wenger signs him for £15m (for example). He plays well. We win trophies. He attracts attention. He stays loyal or we sell him for £40m + (given current inflation and prices). Thats the way it'll be. The club signs someone else and moves on...}

JaytheGooner

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Ed, what do you think about Fabregas leaving? Thiago played pretty well in the AUDI cup for Barca and a lot of Spanish newspapers are saying that Barca might not need Fabregas anymore?

{Ed022's Note - I did say in reply to someone suggesting we'd get Thiago in exchange for Fabregas that staff and players and Barcelona actually rate Thiago higher than Cesc Fabregas. I also suggested that Barcelona would like to make their long-term midfield of Fabregas and Thiago when Xavi and Iniesta wind their careers down. Just because Thiago is showing signs of real quality does not mean they wont go for Fab. Its become an obsession with them to "get Cesc home". It may mean Thiagos emergence cools their interest for a season...?}

I really can't see Wenger spending 25mil on ANY player yet. No "major" strikers will be brought, as Vela will be given his chance to prove his worth this term. He should be, IMO. Chamakh's there as well and he will get his central role up front this time, as Wenger rates him highly. We have enough attacking options now, and Mata would fit in just well - i'm sure Arsene will try to sign him in the next couple of weeks, 'cause Walcott is very injury prone - that's clear now. As for defenders - we will buy ONLY ONE first team player and it will be either CB or LB (i would like to see a good LB rather than a CB).
Nasri will be staying for sure, at least for one more year, although I would like to see him go (with a replacement brought) if these rumours about renewing his contract are true. No need to keep cocky players around here. Fabs is staying, too.
So, thanks for reading

The Standard are now running with the Mata story, claiming the deal will be worth as little as £13.5m. I take the point that there is no material proof behind these claims, but even sports journalists rarely blag with this degree of certainty unless they have vaguely valid sources. The deal is not done yet though and, as said below, the only full proof we can get is a club announcement.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I believe 13.5 is the initial up front cash fee to a larger total. So 13.5m straight away with the rest being broken up after apperances and other bonuses, bit like a deposit on your Mortgage

The reason these rumours seem to come out of "nowhere" is because, as Gazidis said, Arsenal do all of their transfer business behind closed doors. That is why you will not hear of a signing until it is on the website. Just because you are not hearing anything concrete, doesnt mean nothing is happening.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

This rumour of mata joining has come from an article published in the Spanish sport paper of Marca. Marca are the equivalent of a gossip paper. The English papers then cottoned on and have now all run the story. The story has gathered pace but is built on hardly any substance. Even quotes from Valencia say no one has made any bids. Until proper quotes come out of Valencia saying they've accepted a bid, or have actually had any contact with arsenal at all I won't believe it. As for this whole we don't hear anything till it is on the website. That's complete rubbish. We all knew about Gervinho sgning way before Arsene said we have an agreement. We all knew about players like vermaelen, koscielny, chamakh, and jenkinson all before they were announce on the website. This is because allthough arsenal stay stum, other clubs don't and it's other the player or that clubs chairman that usually says he going to arsenal about 2 weeks before it's actually announce on the website. Like I said, these mata reports have no substance and actually conflict with actual quotes coming from Valencia. I wish he'd sign, I really do, but I won't believe anything until I hear someone from Valencia actually say he's coming.

Any ideas on who will be leaving, Nasri? Cesc? Chamakh?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you are correct

Agree0 Disagree0

Which "sports management company"?

Agree0 Disagree0

There has been no offer for Mata. We will not sign Mata even if both Nasri and Cesc stay. Expect one unknown cheap center-half come in and that's it.

My source: Arsene Wenger's behaviour in the transfer market in the last 10 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesc is leaving.

Nasri staying.

Chamkh will stay for another season. The reason he had such a poor second half to the season by the way was because sex scandal story. While on holiday in Las Vegas last sumemr with friends, some, lets just say, indecent photographs were taken and then used to blackmail Chamakh for cash. He is extremely religious and was worried about the effect of these photos on his reputation and family. A gaging order was sought and thankfully the Giggs affair took the light away from him. Hopefully it is all behind him now and he can fulfill the promise he showed at the beginning of last season.

My source is one of the leading Irish Professional Golfers manager who has his own sports management company.

Dublin Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the info pal. I do believe Chamakh is a strict muslim so that basically confirms what u have said about his religious views.

Do you think Benzema is worth signing? no doubt hes a quality centre forward but with having Van Persie, Chamakh, Gervinho and even Walcott who can play up there, are we not better suited in using that money to secure a new left back? A double bid for Jagielka and Baines would be nice.

I explained it in my post that you didnt publish.

Graema Mc Dowell's manager is C.R He owns his own sports management company called Horizon Management who have close affiliations with many other sports managment around europe as they are always looking to sign European talent.

I post a while ago than Ivan Gazidis said Arsenal will be spending big this summer and proving we have the backing to be a big club...

I not saying this is definate but promising that we are being linked with and inquiring about these plays

Mata (Nasris Replacement) 13.5 mil raising to 17.5

Benzema (according to my sport news websites and papers) 25 mil bid to be made

Hazard We are going to ask if he is available

Samba 15 million he basically asked for Arsenal to come get him

This is looking good I was worried at first but with Mata, Benzema and Hazard or others of simular statue looks like we will have quality next season

Believable6 Unbelievable8

As much as I do want all this to happen, didnt samba rubbish the Arsenal rumours today on SSN? I'd rather jags or cahill over samba. I think Hazard is not for sale at any price.... we'll see tho.

Benzima and RVP up front = awesome

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

It's well documented that only one of Gervinho/Hazard would be allowed to leave.
Mata isn't going to be signed to replace Nasri as Nasri is going nowhere.
And the other poster is correct on the Samba SSN point.
Must try harder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything you are saying has been in the papers, we all read them here and can work that any of those transfers might happen...gazidis talks about a big transfer budget every year and the papers always report that- I think you're hoping this will happen, not heard that it will the same as any of us-

Agree0 Disagree0

Theres no way we will sign hazard mata and benzema, with gervinho also already signed. mata signing is all down to cesc leaving.. which then frees up the left side as nasri moves down the middle.. all the cb rumours are just press speculation and Samba is a true professional he wouldnt disrespect blackburn like that

Barcelon are not interested in signing Cesc for any where near 30 million they have ctr midfielders a plenty and will wait at least another year if not 2 as Cescs contract wont have long to run.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Fabregas's contract still has 4 years to run & in effect Barcelona will only be able to force the issue when tit has 1, possibly 2 years to go. By which time prices may have risen & Arsenal may still want a hefty fee. I believe he will depart if Barcelona can stump up what Arsenal want. Hence, the sudden interest in Mata.

Agree0 Disagree0

He signed a 4 year contract. So i think he'll be at arsenal which ends in 2015 or 14 so if we don't get the price and he don't want to play for arsenal let him rot on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon he'll be in a Barca shirt at the start of the season and it'll probably be for only £33m

Rob

I got slated yesterday for saying I thought we would hold onto Nasri and sell him in Jan by people saying he can sign a pre contract from the first day of the season. I was confused so have looked into this

Nasri would NOT be able to sign a precontract with any English club until a month before his Arsenal Contract was up, He would be able to sign a precontract for a European club from Jan 1st

So on that note Like Wenger, I would risk the precontract with a Euro club and try to sell him in Jan to the EPL if he will still not sign a new contract

Mong Out

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Wenger is playing a canny game. I feel he will see if Fabregas departs & it looks like he is trying to sign Mata, so things appear to be getting close. If Fabregas goes & Mata signs, then Wenger will try to convince Nasri to sign a new contract. If that fails I believe Wenger will sell him, rather than losing £20 million + sale fee. This is despite Wenger's protestation to the opposite.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of both of them. Bad apples. We need players that mean it when they kiss the badge, not mercenaries and home sick puppies. Everyone is saying that Fabregas is being professional about it all. Well maybe he should man up , grow a pair and publicly declare his intentions and put an end to a situation which quite frankly is getting really boring. The answer is sell them both, move on and concentrate on what we have, and what we can get with the significant amount of cash they would generate from sales. Wenger is a prize Bell end if he takes a gamble on Nasri signing. There are reportedly 160,000 reasons why he won't sign for us, and whilst the club lets these two clowns tarnish the Arsenal name, we cannot attract new blood. Noone is bigger than the club. Get rid, end of rant...

Believable11 Unbelievable5

We should definitely loan him out for at least 6 months. I am not denying that he has bags of potential, but from what I have seen of him he is still a bit away from Arsenal quality. I dont know what to read if you google search Mata Contract buyout...he has a clause of 60 mill euros.

I think the reports are incorrect. I do think Mata will come...more likely than not after all this noise...the same noise we had for gervinho...the financial terms should be closer to 20 million than it is to 15...

Maybe arsenal have given into Barca's 33 mill offer...and possible future variables for add ons.

I want this saga over.

and nasri too....im sure some italian team wants him...or even man city...i dont mind as long as its not utd...

i dont see why city cant offload tevez and take back sneijder...pair him up with nasri and silva...that way man utd dont get sneijder and they dont get nasri...

and it will piss all the utd fans...and we can remain underdogs and creep up on those morons and win..

Agree0 Disagree0

This makes sense as it is obvious that Fabregas is departing & Mata would be an excellent addition to the squad. I have a feeling once this is done, Wenger will try to tempt Nasri into signing an extension by moving him into Fabregas's role, paying a signing fee & increasing his wages, possibly even offering him the captaincy, although this might upset Van Persie. If Nasri doesnt sign, then I believe Wenger will sell him, rather than losing £20+ million, despite stating that he will keep him. Wenger clearly didnt want to be put in the awkward position of losing both players without signing anyone, the Mata signing would change things.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't Mata a winger? I would think if this specualtion is true, that he is a replacement for Nasri. I for one would much rather Fabregas stay and Nasri piss off.

If he has the same start to this season as he did last he will easily win back the fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumours going around that Mata is on his way in regardless Nasri never said he wouldnt sign and never said anything about wanting to leave. I think he will sign a new contract and is just waiting for some fresh talent top come in to bolster the club. I think a Mata deal and a new defender like jags, cahill will see Nasri sign his new contract.

Rob, love your optimism but 200 grand a week is a huge incentive to move. If he were going to sign he'd have done so by now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri should be shipped, How dare he hold us to ransom for 4 exceptional months in three years

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri has said nothing , it is all paper talk. What does he have to apologise for. Some people believe all the bs in the paper then ctriticise the player or the club on the basis of the bs.

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't cheer 1 goal nasri scores for us no matter how important it is unless he signs a contract stuff him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah agree- I have gone right off nasri, he looked like a sulky child in maylasia- let him go and if the rumours turn out to be true, we could get a really good squad this season- would love him to leave then arsenal win something.

Agree0 Disagree0

The stupidity of some people is staggering. This is a rumours site not a site to see how stupid you can make yourself look. Nasri has never said he is going anywhere. He has not refused to sign a new contract. He has done nothing other than to say on his Twitter (07/07/11) "I just want tell you dont listen the newspaper and the rumours i will let you know if something happen."
If and when Cesc departs Nasri is the most creative and talented player we have in the squad. The original poster is a muppet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri is hanging to see if cesc stays or goes.
If cesc goes, nas will stay. He has spent his Arsenal career playing out of position, he wants to play in the middle.
Could someone please remind me exactly what we have won with Fab.regas in the team

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest Guys, do you blame Nasri wanting to go, Nasri said himself he already earns alot of money he just wants to win something in his career. He the has ambition, he wants to see decent signings like we all do. I do feel if we managed to pull off getting Mata, Benzema and a decent CB he would sign a new deal with us

Lol nasri's saga has dragged on for almost a month now BLIMEY can you imagine if it went on for 3 years................oh wait FABREGAS Ben's "source" i just pictured this wizzomed man dressed in black giving him "INSIDE" information........oh hang on that was the milk tray man.

Nasri has conducted himself perfectly he hasnt said of a boyhood ambition to to return to a club he turned his back on when he was 16 furthing rumours that he will go back to Barca at some point. Nasri just hasn't signed a contract, he wants AW to buy the right players and he will sign FACT any person would tell you if AW bought 4 ideal players SN would sign he is doing what CF should've done before he signed his 6 year contract and then decided "cesc fab phone home"

Hi Ed, Is there any truth that Kyle Bartley is going to Bolton on loan to make weight for Cahill deal?

Believable13 Unbelievable11

There is talk of a contract extension for Bartley and then a loan to a premiership club. What better club than Bolton where Jack did so well?

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a great move for the lad. Bolton have not just helped jack, but look at daniel sturridge now. I wish vela had of gone there instead of WBA.

Agree0 Disagree0

COMING BACK TO RANGERS ON LOAN AGAIN CONFIRMED IN NEXT 72 HOURS. A BETTER MOVE THAN BOLTON GUYS PLUS YOU STILL HAVE HIM CONTRACTED. SUPER PROSPECT FOR YOU.

arsenal have stepped up their interest in marvin martin, the french playmaker who currently topped ligue 1 assists, assisting 17 times last season. a fee of about 6m is prepared to be made. thats a bargain in my eyes, very good player with alot of vision and a great pass, can play on the wings or in a advanced central role, and is being tipped to be the new "zidane"

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Every decent French prospect has been labelled the 'new Zidane'. Seriously how many have there been? Nasri, Gourcuff, Adele taraabt was at one point labelled, feghouli, Ben arfa, Ribery. I mean even players such as anthony le tallec got that label. Even non French players such as Eden hazard and Ganso are now being labelled as this. There will never ever ever be a new zidane.

Agree0 Disagree0

The club president shut the door for martin when sluralex was after him before Arsene. He did have some choices of the words .. something like " I am not a vendor, if I say no the door remains shut ". So very little chance 6m would do anything ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't gervinho the highest in the assist count last season?

Aussie Gunnah

Agree0 Disagree0

No one mentions anything about Martin for weeks after the columns shut up. Then someone posts asking about any news on Martin and someone miraclously has some "inside information" about AW making a move.

In summary complete lie.
