Good news, Sahin and Cazorla too be announced in Monday. the board and wenger is hoping that v.persie pens a new 2 year deal following these signings.

Believable24 Unbelievable16

RVP to sign a one year extension? Why as that puts him at risk. That's as crazy as a 5 year deal.
RVP will get a 3 year extension if anything.
Any less is pointless for him, anything more is too big a risk for AFC.
I hope he signs once he sees our ambition.

Agree1 Disagree1

This is ridiculous but I like your optimism.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rvp signing a new contract? sure... if it's 220k a week. even if we sign messi FFS

According to the Evening Standard, Fulham are interested in buying Andrei Arshavin and Arsenal are apparently willing to let him leave for as little as £1m!

Tom the Gooner

Believable17 Unbelievable28

His On About 6m Yearly

Agree0 Disagree0

Should trade with Dembele or Dempsey along with 5-10 million

Agree1 Disagree1

Apparently Arsenal want closer to £5 million

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not understand this. So no Russian clubs want him? He's worth more than £1m no matter what. Why on EARTH would we pay his wages? We need him off the books, not on them! Jeez Arsenal, please don't let this be true. Are we paying Denilson's wages too?

Agree0 Disagree0

If we can get Dempsey for a few million plus the LazyArse Russian I'd see that as a great bit of business, but Wenger doesn't rate Dempsey enough, it's that he's not technically gifted enough apparently

Paul

Agree1 Disagree0

Basically forget Dempsey , its all about dembele who is technically gifted

Agree0 Disagree0

They could get almost 15 mill from zenit so why sell to fulham for 1

Agree0 Disagree0

No one is gonna pay a lot for Arshavin because he has high wages and he has 1 year left on his contract. Arsenal got £1m from Zenit when he was on loan at them last season.

Malaga agreed the Arsenal deal to transfer his player Santi Carzola,, with the £26 mill Fee.

GunnerForever

Believable13 Unbelievable15

It sound like a 2ru story

Agree0 Disagree0

Really 26 mill? or do u mean 16?

Agree1 Disagree0

Arsenal won't pay 26m. They could get someone better and younger for that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Could you mean 26mill euros? as that is nearer the £20mill they wanted for him?

Agree0 Disagree0

If thats true, it'll be 26 euros not pounds
Jersey Boi

Agree0 Disagree0

I'D SAY THAT WAS 26MILLION. . TALKSPORT'S SPANISH CORRESPONDENT SEEMED TO THINK GOOD CHANCE OF THIS DEAL GOING THROUGH. CAN ALWAYS HOPE....

Agree0 Disagree0

26mil and throw in bendtner would get goetze so doubt its 26

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance. I reckon they might get Santi' Cazorla though, for somewhere in the region of 17-20M
Chriss

Agree0 Disagree0

I am hoping you pressed the 2 before the 6 by accident!

Zar

Agree0 Disagree0

The new bid is supposedly 23 million euros...

Agree0 Disagree0

What they said was that they expected at least 26m. we just raised our bid from 20m to 23m euro

what source is telling us that arsene has upped his offer to 17.9 million?

Believable15 Unbelievable17

Spanish newspaper AS

I think this would be good business. I hope we get him.

Sahin is alot like Wilshere without the energy/buzz

Believable17 Unbelievable13

He's not like Wilshere...

Sahin is a lot like Arteta. sure, Arteta and Wilshere can play the same position but they are very different players. Arteta is much less eager to get forward and is very good at lying back deep in the midfield and connecting the team between attack and defense. same kind of role that Schweinsteiger and Xabi Alonso play. those are the kind of players where it's hard to appreciate how important and how good they really are because their role can be quite subtle. it becomes clear though that they're very important when they're injured/rested and the team becomes a disorganized mess.

Sahin is a very good player and his position does not call for "energy/buzz". But we do have Arteta in that spot and he was fantastic for us last season so the money should be spent elsewhere.

-Gooner Curmudgeon

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Gooner Curmudgeon although there would still be value in getting Sahin if only to cover for Arteta or in difficult away games to provide a more stable midfield base.

Had to google what Curmudgeon meant by the way!

Hackney Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Arteta is the the bomb, not only because of RVP, we finished in third place, but mikel is a major player for the AFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Sahin on loan as cover for arteta wen hes injuired and after a yr at arsenal if hes any good we shud buy him as arteta will be 30 by den

Agree0 Disagree0

And sahins quite slow

Remember hearing our transfer kitty was somthing like £25m excluding player sales. We've spent more or less that amount already and with Wenger's latest comments it sounds like there are players he wants (including contract extensions/improvements) but has to release some funds first. Example is once Vela was sold, Koscielny was given an extension. Could Song and Walcott's contracts and potential signings be hinging on the exits of Bedtner, Arshavin, Squillaci and freinds?

Can someone tell me if Afobe, Miquel, Aneke and Wilshere were coached by Steve Bold in the you teams, because i can imagine having a sumilar impact Guardiola had on the careers of Pedro and Busquets.

Lwi

Believable17 Unbelievable11

Come onn man where not that s*** fc we are arsenal fc

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes they were all coached through the youth and reserve teams so Bould should know each player inside out. Can't hurt really

ok, the journalist who told me about the possible gotze deal, now tells me that the deal is pretty much off after having a bid of bendtner+rosicky+20mil rejected.(rosicky being injured didnt help), but main reason being they wanted atleast 30mil in cash so they can build their team.

so i wanted to ask a few others some questions as im curious;
ben; what happened to the possible transfer of muller?
Malaga gooner; whats your news on the gotze front? and why would arsenal keep v.persie and then still sign neymar?
and ben x; whats the latest on mvila?
Thank you

waq, as i posted arsenal gave them a deadline on monday gone and i have heard on the situation hence as i posted ganso became the best option...rvp has been offered 2 year deal on £150k a week+bonus and will be not sold to any english club for less than £25mill..
do you think santos would prefer to business with 1 club for both players?
i am only passing on info...

I dont think we should be too downhearted from the Man City result. Dont forget our two main strikers were not present.

Believable22 Unbelievable7

Dude this was a friendly and we pkayed a lot of young players! Still we were the better team. I think no one will be down because of this result!:)

Agree0 Disagree0

I only caught second half but was very impressed and think we deserved more from the game, shame pod an giroud werent there tho

Agree0 Disagree0

We had more shots and more possession which is pretty good considering the team we had included no strikers

Agree0 Disagree0

Great arsenal performance with a reserve attack

Agree0 Disagree0

I think our main problem this season will be the fact we only have 1 decent full back at the club and he is injured at present. santos, gibbs and jenkinson are not good enough ans switch off at crucial times

Agree1 Disagree0

Easily deserved to win, atleast a draw. Chamberlain shot showed it just wasnt our day.

Agree0 Disagree0

Downhearted about what? a flaming friendly shows what you know about football.

Agree0 Disagree1

3 main strikers, RVP is still our player.

Spanish press, AS reveal that late last night a 23 million Euro offer for Santi Cazorla arrived in Malaga....from Arsenal? They also say that apparently Arsenal's offer would cover what they paid for him last summer as well as the money they owe Villarreal

sure it was villareal that they bought him off! so if they pay the same as Malaga paid for him that would cover the cost

The signing of Cazorla would offset the likely loss of Van Persie. Assuming we get £20m for Van Persie, then spending this amount on signing Cazorla would be understandable. Particularly as we have signed 2 international forwards reasonably.

Bad news on the Cazorla deal, it appears that Malaga rejecting an initial Arsenal bid was in order to buy time for the club making a decision. This is because Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani is now believed to have agreed to the cash injection the club require to get out of debt and avoid facing relegation.
I believe Cazorla has a buyout clause of around 45m Euros that Wenger will not pay.
It is true that Arsenal agreed personal details with the player, but Malaga will now refuse to sell if the money from Sheikh Al-Thani comes in.

These arabs are so filthy rich no wonder why the americans want that oil!

Agree0 Disagree0

But not as rich as usamanov bring him in!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2012 22:21:17
Keep Usmanov out.
They way those Sheikhs splash he cash he would be mad to let Malaga be relegated although it does seem as if he lost interest in the club or never had any to start with, maybe he just bought them for bragging rights ie the oil sheikh version of 'i own a race horse'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bs, they haven't even been paying players wages or the tax man so why would they all of a sudden put there hand in there pocket and pay now??

Ed, do you know anything about our apparent interest in Nuri Sahin?

I'm not convinced by this and i'm unsure why we need him.

Cheers,

G95 {Ed002's Note - A loan to an English club does not seem very likely to me. Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with AC Milan) or a return to Germany (with Bayern Munich) would come before any thoughts of a move to England - although there could well be interest from Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

Believable5 Unbelievable7

You ever read such crap. A.F.C wouldnt have made an improved bid for the player that works out at 23m' euros.
i think its more than safe to say Cazorla is as good as signed..
