philippe auclair :Told by @fredhermel that Arsenal FC are looking very closely indeed at Real Madrid's Esteban Granero, with a view to a move in January

Believable34 Unbelievable7

I like him, would do well,

Tommy P

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be a good signing,but he is a 100% Real Madrid fan,so it would have to be one hell of an offer.So more likely to be a loan deal,if it happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this is one of the more realistic rumours I've seen on here - Granero is an off-the bench player and Madrid have a big squad. I don't think we'd need to break the bank to get him

Hi Ed, Local media in Peru are saying Arsenal are chasing Peruvian ST/WG Jefferson Farfan from Schalke, any truth in that? Over the summer we heard a couple of times AW was interested in Jurado... {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard of any recent Arsenal interest in him.}

Believable8 Unbelievable16

We dont need them at all

it brings a tear to my eye to say adam johnson looks set to join liverpool after wenger has not shown any interest in him since august

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Nooooooooooo

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because the media does not write about it does not mean Arsene isn't keeping track...

Gilo

Agree0 Disagree0

Er, would this be as back up to the left winger Liverpool bought from Villa in the summer, Mr Stuart Downing?

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes sense that Liverpool would want him. Kenny has an obsession with British players and his over-priced British purchases so far have not been good enough.

If Liverpool wants him, they will undoubtedly get him ahead of Arsenal because of their new sugar-daddy owners. It's a shame too.... Adam Johnson is far too talented to play for a Liverpool team that is coached to play bland traditional English football. Johnson would be a much better fit at Arsenal. His talents will go to waste at Liverpool. {Ed001's Note - what is it with this nonsense you all keep spouting on here about Liverpool's football. Try watching them and you will see a totally different team from this 'bland' rubbish you are talking about. There are no sugar daddy owners either, I have no idea where that particular idea came from. Liverpool is a very profitable club and the money being spent has to be accounted for, it is not a gift from the owners at all. It is embarrassing how you lot all whine about how the media lies about your club but then swallow its lies about other clubs!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bravo Ed001!
i think that was well said,
majority people here are biased to Arsenal obviously (me including)
... i think us rumour junkies need to broaden or horizons {Ed001's Note - I should point out that the all I mentioned referred to all the sites. It is the same on every site on here, United, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Rangers, Celtic etc, the fans all moan about every lie in the media but then lap up every lie told about another team! It amazes me how fickle people are really. I refuse to even read a newspaper myself, if I want to form an opinion on a team or player, I find games to watch and watch them for myself.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be nice to see him in an Arsenal shirt,he would get regular games and he scores goals too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't have any problems with Liverpool's style of play (except when Carroll is on the field) but to suggest they paid market prices instead of grossly inflated bumper fees and add in that they had net spending of much more than 50m and methinks it's not far off to suggest they will not price us out of buying Johnson--they will use him to good effect, however. Downing on one wing, Johnson on the other sounds pretty lethal. Works great in a 4-5-1

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool need to strengthen defensively, they dont need another winger. Arsenal dont need johnson either, we need someone more central

Ed, do you reckon there is any chance whatsoever of Arsenal grabbing Adam Johnson in the future? He's such a class act, cannot see why he's not an England starter and I think he's possibly the most underrated player in the Premier League. Would pay top dollar for this guy.

GM7 {Ed001's Note - there is every chance he will leave City, Mancini doesn't want him and is actively seeking a replacement. I have no idea where he will end up though.}

Believable34 Unbelievable7

I'd LOVE to see Adam Johnson sign for us: I think he is brilliant and seriously underplayed, even at Citeh's billionaires plaything$. A half decent effort by The Double A against Bolton does not make up for a season and a half of mediocrity and lack of effort. Let him go back to Russia (for 'football reasons, not money' like Eto'o!) for £10m and spend £25m on Johnson. Lob in Vertonghen and MMM for another £35m, recoup most of that by ditching all the usual suspects (for the record, Bendtner, Djourou, Almunia, Squillaci, Rosicky, Lansbury, Chamakh, (I'd rather keep Lansbury but it wouldn't appear AW has same opinion and he does know better than me) Benayoun, which might scarpe £15m, £20m tops and there we have a squad worthy of our name for the additional transfer fees of £30m (which by todays standards is cheap.) There are plenty of other squad players who could go too, to cut back on salaries. I'd even let Theo go unless he bucks his ideas up. Heresy to some, no doubt, but we have The Ox, Gervinho, Ryo and (if we bought him) Adam Johnson, and up front we have RVP, Park, Vela, Ryo, (plus Luke Freeman, Wellington Boot, Campbell for next season).

Johnson 25m might as well go for m'villa johnspn is 15-20m

Agree0 Disagree0

Well what do either of us know about the value of players? £25m? £20m? £15m? Whatever his price - and it could easily be anywhere within that range - i feel he'd be worth it. M'Villa is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT type of player. Specious argument. You may as well comment that Benzema may - or may not - cost as much, the same or more as Johnson. Availability of money isn't really the issue with Arsenal. For one we have a squad laden with players we could sell and free up the cash from their salaries to pay others, plus we'd make a bit from their sales value and for two we just need to have the desire to spend it and this is where either a combination of the Board and AW or either seperately, differ from your average Joe (like me) who craves an injection of success. Personally I think we only need a back up 'keeper (Graig Gordon), Jan Vertongen and Adama Johnson (I have also supported the purchase of MMM, but I'm unsure this is necessary) and ditch all the hangers-on, the might-have-beens and the never-will-be's to free up space and cash in the first team squad. Thin it down, get three real first teamers/first team challengers in and let the rest go. Incidentally I think Citeh WOULD look for £25m for Johnson, due to (a) crazy prices these days (b) they have the power to hang on and don't need to sell on the cheap and (c) it's my humble opinion only!

^there's always someone. What relevance is Johnson to M'Villa?

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't Lansbury Just sign a long term deal with us? So that would imply that he is in Wengers plans?

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Johnson in an arsenal shirt, i feel he would really add another dimension to our game, especially since hes a left-footed winger, makes a change to all of our right-footers and we would deffo take advantage of that

Colney Bandit

Agree0 Disagree0

Lansbury plays well in an England shirt and has been inspirational for Norwich last season and West Ham this season. However it is a stretch to say he is worth playing immediately. The issue is that he wants first team football, which we can't really offer him just yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mancini wants johnson because he is class so that is pathetic {Ed001's Note - no he doesn't, he never bought him, he doesn't like his attitude.}

Believable44 Unbelievable4
