Ed, do you think samba would be good for arsenal {ed's note - possibly, he would give you strength and power but he is not technically good enough for the system Arsene employs.}

Well arsenal beat Chelsea but there's still some work to be done. They'll probably win the Carling Cup as the only teams left in the semi-finals are Ipswich, Birmingham and West Ham.

As Arsenal looks to push for the title, they need to be consistent. No title winning team leaves their team unchanged at the end of the season into the next. They strengthen it especially when people look to be on their way out.

There's only two signings that we know that are 100 percent for sure and that is:

Ryo Miyaichi 100% (Already done - Arsenal.com)
Wellington Silva 100% (Already done, needs work permit - Arsenal.com)

Knowing Wenger, he's going think this is enough in the Jan transfer window. But he has said if something opens up then he will take it.

*What people don't get is that he's easy on the money because he loves Arsenal FC and doesn't want to see what happened to Portsmouth or what is happening to Man United with their debt problems.

If anything, he'll MAYBE sign a defender if we're lucky like Samba, the only reason is because he's big and strong and reminds him of previous defenders like the ones of the Invincibles, or Mertesacker.

When this season is over though, I think there will be a few big names being looked at.

-Fabregas may leave, sad to say yes even though I was one of the few who knew he wasn't leaving before this season. I think we owe it to him to fulfill his childhood dream since he has done so much for us for 7 years.
-Denilson looks to be having troubles with Wenger and with starting, maybe on his way out.
-Rosicky is getting old and MIGHT go, small chance though, he loves Arsenal and might want to retire at
the Emerates.
-Bendtner is having trouble not starting in many games but does very good in cup games and off the bench. (Best sub record last season in the league)
-Clichy see below.

IN
-Benzema. Real Madrid have been chasing Clichy (along with Barcelona) and with Benzema coming this way and a great player like Gibbs to replace Clichy it might make a good move. (Benzema has already said he would like to play for Arsenal when he turned down chelsea).
-Hazard looks like a very good signing especially to put depth in the wing positions with Arshavin going up and down in form and Van Persie moving to center forward. (Hazard too has expressed his want to play for Arsenal previously).
-Mertesacker is one of the stars of World Cup 2010 and would be a great buy as his contract with Werder Bremen will be running out in the summer and would put depth in defense.

Don't expect to see a new GK as Szczęsny has impressed Wenger. A new midfielder (or two) can be expected if Cesc and Denilson leave.

I'm not saying all of this will happen (although it would be great for the club) but it will all be considered. I'm expecting only 25%-50% of what I have written to actually happen.
