Ok Ben,whatever you say mate.

Ben you just see rumours on other web pages like goonernews.com and post what you read like you have inside info!

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did your info come from?

As I said before...

These 'talks' are ongoing from Koln giving us permission back in January before they negated because our price was too low.

It's literally us just walking back in the door.

=Miss Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Miss Arsenal is usually a very good source...

But from what I am hearing, nothing has been finalised with the player or club yet. Deal is far from done and dusted.

Ed / Miss Arsenal / Anyone - can you clarify?

Agree0 Disagree0

Essentially it's similar to when we signed chamakh, if you remember we offered Bordeaux 3m for him before getting him on a free, wenger offered a low fee to koln in January and it was turned down, however the difference here is it was low, not insulting like chamakh, koln are willing to let Lukas speak to WHOEVER he wishes, this includes schalke who are willing to offer more money than us, AC Milan are reported to be keen and I'm sure the likes of Anzhi, Zenit and CSKA would take a look at him, however a lot of German footballing figures believe he would benefit from Messir Wengers experience and are hinting to him wenger would get the best out of him, remember poldi is a weird case where he's always great in internationals, but struggled when he got his big move to Bayern Munich, sources close to him have said arsenal are his favoured destination, but I think ifvAc Milan/juventus made their interest concrete it'd turn heads, don't be shocked if lazio turned up with a cheeky bid, he's definitely be attracted to playing with klose again, of course that last bit is all if bits and maybes, I just doubt it's that easy, a wenger transfer never is

Agree0 Disagree0

Well well well... he wants england more than any other league... he does not want to stay in germany schalke out of the race!

its just about going abroad so its arsenal or another club and arsenal is his favourite destination!

come on u gooners!

what i think we should (and could) do in the summer:

in:
rosicky (renewal)
benayoun (permanent)
drogba (free)
jaaskelainen (free)
podolski (seems quite done)
a world class am (goetze, eriksen, honda, gourcuff, hazard etc)

that's six players (although two of them are already playing for us). and then some more experience. drogba could teach a thing or two for the likes of walcott, afobe and campbell. jaaskelainen can guide szczesny who isn't flawless (watch milan first goal, he gives the ball away in the first place). podolski can be a back-up for rvp but also play at the same time on the left.

then clear out the usual suspects like squillaci, fabianski, mannone, arshavin etc. although i understand it may be hard (who wants to pay their wages?).

Rene Alder on the free is so much better than Jussi

Agree0 Disagree0

Gourcuff is not world class.

Agree0 Disagree0

For those 6 players coming in you would need to show 6 out.

GK - we have good cover in our youth options. Much wiser than inflting the wage bill.

Drogba - NO THANKS! He will surely end up in China/Russia/US leagues - we would not pay his crazy wages.

Podolski - Possibility, but not finalised.

CAM - If yossi and Diaby leave - there is the possibility of one more midfielder coming in. I suspect it will be someone far more affordable than Hazard. Gotze is not going anywhere.

Billybob452

Agree0 Disagree0

Drogba's wages are too high

Agree0 Disagree0

I put jaaskelainen there because of his huge pl experience. i also think he would be a good mentor to szczesny. but i would'nt mind if we signed adler over jussi. both would do for me. fabianski and mannone are probably both going so getting one in alongside szczesny and almunia is vital. youth options should be loaned.

and gourcuff is world class. he's france international. but he's not my favorite to be signed tbh, with his injury record.

and yes, drogba would need a pay-cut. he'd be more like a sub coming in when our game isn't going but could also be a good starter if we get injuries. he's ideal for me. chelsea look only his age but he still has it. i think wages wouldn't be a problem, he never seemed like a guy doing this for money.

iceman

Agree0 Disagree0

TBH - if Chamakh, Park, Arshavin go

I would be happy with Podolski, Miyachi, Joel Campbell as replacements.

We would have the following 7 competing for 3 places.
RVP
Podolski
Theo
Gervinho
Ox
Miyachi
Joel Campbell

This would free up more cash to be spent on a world class CAM. Gourcuff for me as not shown consistency. at Bordeuax he was definitely world class, but has failed to reach those heights.

Frankly we need someone who can play like Rosicky did week-in, week-out.

Is The Podolski Deal TRUE!??

TomArsenal

Believable30 Unbelievable5

As Ben claims to have exclusively predicted it then I would say NO. ala Goetze.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice one anon! Douche.

Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Podolski would be great. But we need to be careful not to be hi jacked like we were for mata, whom was a ideal gunner style player IMO.

Let's be optimistic, we have money and wenger knows we need to remove some players and strengthen the squad to keep the likes of rvp and song...

Agree0 Disagree0

No one on here knows Tom

Agree0 Disagree0

We all thought Wenger new Almunia was not suitable no 1. turns out he did not realise for 4 years. we all thought Wenger new we needed to sign 4/5 players at the end of last season, to keep Fab and Nasri. turned out he did not and then panic bought on last day. lets just wait and see if Wenger actually does what is needed. judging by Djourou getting a 1 year exstension to a contract that still had 2 years to run. it would seem he does not. Baines and Podolski would be a good start. If Wenger bought Baines it would show that he realised that Gibbs is made of bolser wood!!

ed i just seen on ssn teletext that bendtners a free agent in the summer is that true because i have seen posts that people expect us to get money for him?
dave.w {Ed007's Note - His contract with Arsenal runs until summer 2014.}

Believable9 Unbelievable3

People keep saying that we will get a striker because Chamakh must be leaving, don't be stupid guys. Bendtner is leaving, he has promised never to play at Arsenal again, he has a huge ego and i assume we wouldn't want him anymore, hence Matias Suarez, Podolski and all those rumours.
Chamakh is going anywhere so hold your horses, he will be a decent sub if he gets back into the form he had when he first came, but if we get a 10 mil offer we should take it and run, 10 mil plus a bit of extra cash = PODOLSKI!
Nick.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

A bizarre post from you Nick. Yeah we all know Bendtner's leaving and what he said about the club. But we also all know that Chamakh has no future here too, that Bordeaux are practically falling over themselves to get him (or were) and that he is considering his options, as he publicly stated in January. Chamakh will be leaving for first team football back in france. Which is why we're interested in more than one attacking player. SUarez and Podolski are likely to come together. Ryo will be the left sided player and Podolski will be more of a striker than a wide player if this happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not think we will get Saurez and Podolski - one or the other.

If Chamakh and park leave - I suspect Wenger will try to promote Afobe or bring back Joel Campbell.

Next year's possible options for the attacking 3:

RVP
Podolski
Theo
Gervinho
Ox
Miyachi
Joel

Not bad...

HE WILL NOT BE A USEFUL SUB HE IS 'USE'LESS, him out Podolski in end of

Edd, how reliable is the info from the telegraph and bild that podolski has agreed a provisional agreement with arsenal, but we haven't agreed a fee with koln yet?
Hampshiregooner {Ed001's Note - the only definitely correct thing is that no deal has been agreed with Koln yet. There does seem to have been talks held over a move between Arsenal and Podolski. But I have been unable to find out if they really have led to an agreement so far.}

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Its not an agreement Ed, in terms of a legal agreement as Podolski is still contracted to Koln for over a year more, so arsenal would be in breach of the contract without permission from the club.

The rumour is that An arsenal negotiator had a verbal chat with Podolski and his confirmed interest in arsenal, the response from the player was positive as he sees a move to the EPL as the next step forward and arsenal are the only big club after him, so he will shun offers from the likes of shalke.

As it has been said podolski will head arsenal's way pending the fee we produce to get him, the personal terms was just a way of saying he is willing to play for the 80-90 k they would be giving him rather then say he has sorted out his contract and now wants to be sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

This all sounds great! Poldolski is an awesome player... 15gls and 4 assists in the league this season
HampshireGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Spoke with a colleague this morning - It's not a "Pre-Agreement". As the person above said he would be in breach of contract if that were the case...

Arsenal already have permission from Koln to speak with Podolski over personal terms as they'd already agreed in principle to sell him to us in January but at the time the fee (I believe was 8m) was refused by Koln. Then Podolski got that injury literally a day later so Arsenal did not go back in with another bid.

The case here is we've simply spoken with Podolski again on personal terms and he is seemingly happy with what AFC are offering him.

Apparantly Van persie pulled out of a training session with holland last night. He has a groin injury from the sp*ds game. The dutch manager said he should be ok to play tonite. He should not play as i can see that he will make it worse and this will screw us up!

Believable13 Unbelievable1

RVP wants to play unfortunately and thats on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

It wouldn't be the first time that RVP has made an injury worse by playing an International match.

hi ed has arsenal made any approach or shown any interest in players like hazard ,mvilla,gotze,ventongen, are any off these speculations true plus if are true which target do you see arsenal to succeed with ? {Ed001's Note - Arsenal have shown interest in all those players, I don't think they are likely to sign any of them right now though. But you never know, summer is a long way away.}

hi ed with all this hazard speculation do you see arsenal buying him better that have we put in any interest at all {Ed001's Note - I really have no idea where he will end up, I would not put money on it being Arsenal though.}
