ARSENE WENGER is considering a bid for Celtic's Kenya midfielder Victor Wanyama. The Arsenal manager had the £10m-rated 21-year-old watched for the third time in eight days as Celtic drew 1-1 with Inter Milan yesterday as part of the Scottish champions' 125th anniversary celebrations.

Gooner Bill

Believable15 Unbelievable23

If use get wanyama for 10 mill lucky use great player easly be 1 of the best in epl in first season

Agree0 Disagree0

What wld be the point in buying back up for song when come january they will both be gone to ACN

Agree0 Disagree0

Overrated-Celtic not playing him in pre-season, don't want injuries as earmarked for early transfer to raise cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic didn't play him earlier because he was allowed another 2 weeks holiday because of World Cup Qualifiers with Kenya in June

Wenger is about to do deal on Van Persie £15m with Javier Hernández coming the other way - Brilliant!

Believable13 Unbelievable41

If only

Agree1 Disagree1

I don't really rate hernandez.

BgdGooner

Agree2 Disagree2

It's happening. Welcome to old Trafford rvp

Agree0 Disagree5

I think now you have a bit of time off school you should play with your x box.

Agree3 Disagree0

Chicharito is bob, Van Persie wont go United, no chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

Football Manager may accept this, reality won't.

Agree2 Disagree0

F-off hes never going to mans***e united

Agree1 Disagree0

Disgusting.. cant believe he's got the nerve to go to another english team, will lose what respect i had for him if this is true. man utd are direct competetor's with us in the top four

Agree1 Disagree0

SAF loves Hernandez too much for that, don't see it happening esp. With age, injury potential etc.,

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheer's robin.. can you please give me back the couple hundred quid for the shirts ive bought with your name on the back? hope you enjoy living up north. hope your kids grow up with divvy accent's

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldn't say its brilliant. Hernandez has a good first season but last season he didn't have the same impact

Tom the Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see this happening. United will sell Berbatov, and to bring in RVP by swapping Hernandes doesn't make sense. In Hernandes, they have a young proven goal poacher, who has the potential to get better. If RVP goes to united, it won't be with Hernandes going the opposite way.

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't believe this rumour. {Ed035's Note - finally someone with sense, this rumor is ridiculous

Agree2 Disagree1

I doubt it, if rvp goes there then he is more of a mercenary a*s than adebayor and nasri put together. i really don't like man city because of the way they bully wiv cash and over pay mediocre players just so that no-one else can hav them, but i really hate man utd more and so should every other true gooner, think van nistelrooy/red nose/howard webb and many other t***s that hav plied their trade there.

Agree1 Disagree0

But why would he go there ?

Man U are on the way down, Wenger is finally spending, I just don't get it

I remember Sheringham going there for medals and he got his timing perfect.

Just don't think RVP is making a the same perfect move.

Gonner spooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope. Never. Gonna. Happen.
Arsene doesn't do swaps. He has very specific requirements, and someone elses cast offs do not figure in his thinking.
Kickemon

Agree0 Disagree0

I love people who post stuff like this:

"Disgusting.. cant believe he's got the nerve to go to another english team"

"Cheer's robin.. can you please give me back the couple hundred quid for the shirts ive bought with your name on the back? "

You're getting your knickers in a twist over a rumour that has been invented by a friendless, mentally-challenged wind-up merchant.

Stop believing everything you read on this site, 99% of it is nonsense created by people with no connection to reality.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds,
If you admit this is a ridiculous rumour, then why post it to begin with? {Ed027's Note - its still someones rumour

Agree0 Disagree0

This is complete and utter nonsense- yes rvp may well end up at utd (god forbid), but certainly with no player coming the other way and especially not hernandez.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a united fan chicha won't be leaving if he was going to leave we would have cashed in last summer when Madrid were interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

This rumour is completely silly

Agree0 Disagree0

Think this would make a lot of sense - would be the 'fox in the box' AW been looking for long long time. I will boo RVP when next at Emirates.

This isnt as odd as it sounds, I heard this some time ago.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are going to sign another highly rated teenager from Southampton, this time 17 year-old full back Luke Shaw who has already been dubbed 'the new Gareth Bale.'

Tom the Gooner

Believable29 Unbelievable13

Gareth Bale is not a full back ;) {Ed027's Note - he was.......

Agree4 Disagree0

Hopefully he doesent dive as much as Bale.

Agree3 Disagree0

Luke shaw is great and will be massive but hopefully better than bale as bale is one of the most overrated players in football

Agree2 Disagree0

Not for sale, we are in the prem now so why would he leave? Try developing your own players maybe? {Ed035's Note - Champions league football, guaranteed PL football every season, I dunno mate it seems like a bit of a mystery to me why he might leave}

Agree1 Disagree1

He's not guaranteed first team football, after one season with Southampton with saints he is and has a long term contract, saints have already turned down several advances for him from Chelsea, if he was so desperate for first team champions league football he would have gone by now!

Agree2 Disagree1

You say guareenteed, ed but that means spend a year or 2 on the bench then maybe start getting a few games, or stick with saints and actually get played... wouldnt want to do another walcott, took him much longer to show his potential after he went to arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha...Try developing your own players? Good one mate. I forgot Wilshere was a Southampton product.

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi Ed.,
Yes,Shaw will want both and much more likely to get both at Saints (when he is ready) than at Arsenal. You obviously will not agree, but give it 2/3 years and you might have a surprise.
Now, let's get serious. About time we had Walcott back as Arsenal have failed to develop him properly. How much will it take-not too much after RVP has followed Fabregaz out the door?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Or another Chamberlain and get into the England squad at 18, that would be a disaster.

Agree0 Disagree0

Luke Shaw is going no where. Arsenal are declining while Southampton are getting stronger by the day. Southampton are no ones feeder club any more. I would have thought that buying a 17 year old for £15m when we were fresh out of League 1 would have clearly stated that we will not sell unless the right price is reached. What would be a fair price for possibly the best under 19 LB in the world - £25m?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed035 - With Chelsea, United and City also allegedly interested, it also seems a mystery to me why he would go to Arsenal. In fact, he won't be going anywhere in this window, at least. {Ed027's Note - why would he go to arsenal??, well ask Ramsey Walcott and Ox they will tell you, also for obvious reasons, more chances etc

Agree0 Disagree1

Wenger is hopeful that with the signings of cazorla and season long loan of sahin which are set to be confirmed in next 48 hours they will only need 1 more big signing to convince RVP to stay at arsenal

Believable25 Unbelievable24

If signing Cazorla, Sahin, Pods and Giroud cant convince him to stay....nothing will. Its just obviously about money then.

Marty

Agree3 Disagree0

Excellent news if true mate, forget about van persie, he obv didn't give a s**t about the club just money, don't want people like that in our club tbh... buzzin about the new season now. C'mon u gunners!!!!

CheetahChaz97

Agree3 Disagree0

Let Rvp go after the loyalty the clubs shown him through his continuous injury concerns and he has shown none in return am looking forward to seeing the back of him just remember this has been his best season and don't expect him to have another like it he'll be injured again soon enough

Agree1 Disagree1

Rvp only want the dosh now hes not interested in football anymore get him off the team

Agree1 Disagree0

Sadly i agree with all the above,i thought he was different but in the end he is after the cash and i think we are right to not sell unless our terms are met, we will be fine without him anyway, much better players have the arsenal and we always come good.I am very positive about the coming season and with a good start think we could possibly challenge
regarding cazorla and sahin, dont think it will happen

Agree1 Disagree0

This makes me laugh, if he signs a new contract and belts in a load of goals this will never b bought up to again, respect if he made the club sign some talent lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Stories in the papers today he prefers going to Man Utd United with wages around £220k same as shrek. Doubt united will be willing to give him that much.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why are you all hating on RVP so much?
He has not said once that he wants to leave he has just stated what all us gooners have been saying for years that AFC are showing no ambition and he will not sign a new contract as to put the s***s up the board so they buy some quality players and show some bo!ocks!
I can personally see him signing a new contract if Cazorla and another quality player is signed as he loves the club and does not want to settle for 4th or 3rd every season and we all feel the same.
The poor bloke has not won any medals whilst playing for us and he is getting to the last 3 or 4 years of his playing career and it would be a waist to have been at AFC 12 years and not win sod all so just think you would feel?
I think he has made AFC board buy some world class players with his comments so we should thank him as he does not want to leave, he just wants Arsenal to challenge and win some trophys.

Deano

Agree1 Disagree0

Listen Rvp is a part ofvlong list of arsenal players that may have left and yet we are still competitive...I am not interested in. Convincing ...do some of you suffer from self esteem issues that you wouldnt consider the fact that no player is bigger than a club. I am personally pleased with some of the transfer signings and dealings we are trying to make but it shouldn't be about trying to convince Rvp! He is not god nor has has he been consistent over the past 5 seasonst ...I am more concerned with us showing ambition for ourselves ....long life Afc

Agree0 Disagree0

I some what agree with deano and hope it is right. Wenger has to realise that to win things top class players have to be signed not top class in a few years.

DD

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope deano's right.

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^. AW and AFC wouldn't dictate there transfer targets and potential signings on what a arsenal "could of been legend" says!

Agree0 Disagree0

You bang on Deano, well said, was a bit annoyed at him myself, but you make it sound ok thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

All He Wanted Was More Money Than Arsenal Were Willing To Pay (130k) He Knew Arsenal Were Going To Spend This Summer And He Saw Who We Had Bought He Is Bang Out Of Order For Posting Such Things On The Internet How Have We Shown No Ambition When We Agreed To Sign To Players Before The Window Opened One Of Which Is A German International With 101 Caps And Is On 100k A Week. Ask Yourself What Effect His Comments Will Have On Current Players And Future Signings Get Your Heads Out Of Players Arse' And Support Your Club

Agree0 Disagree0

I am astounded with all this talk of the club not having ambition. I am even more astounded when I hear of RVP stating it as a reason for not wanting to sign a new contract - but I will get to that in a minute.

When will people realise the effect of the stadium on the clubs finances? Every year AFC pay £15 million in interest on loans on the stadium and as we know the loan is not interest only so we must be paying a large sum of the principle too, calculated guess would say another 10 million minimum. That's 25 million per year which we have to find over and above the wages and overheads. 25 million that will eventually go in the war chest every year. The fact that we are still competing is a marvel for which we have to thank AW for. To say we have no ambition just because we don't spend like Man City or Man utd or Chelsea or even liverpool and the spuds for that matter is plainly ridiculous. Do we reallly think that AFC don't have the ambition to win anything? I read on a post a couple of weeks ago that the board are taking money out of the club instead of spending on players ... what a load of cr*p. Its easy to think all we have to do is spend big and we will win, but hte reality is that is not the way it works! Many of us would have ambition to live in a big house and go on several holidays a year, and we could if we get a massive unsustainable mortgage and as many credit cards as we could get our hands on, but we are all sensible enough to know that we would risk bankruptcy if we did. And yet that is what we expect AFC to do every day on these sites.

As for RVP, he has been with us for 8 years seven of which he was on the treatment table or just making up the numbers. Now don't get me wrong I think he is a fantastic player if he gets a run as he did last season. But was he on the pitch by himself? apart from the goal against the spuds when he went around 3 or 4 of thier players, I don't remember him taking on entire oppositions to score all of his goals. Is he the only player we have on the books that can finish? Unfortunately we live in a world where players will manipulate situations for thier own gain. And that is all this is. He wants more money (and thats good for him) but to suggest he is leaving because Arsenal don't share his ambition? Well as somebody previously said he only has maybe 4 or 5 more years to go, and we've seen in scotland portsmouth etc what can happen if clubs only look at the next few years.

Rant over, and sorry if this is disjointed in the way it reads.

Rumours appearing about Wenger sending scouts to watch Hulk in the Olympics. If RVP flies off to Juve, then a possible £25m offer, with possible make-weight players such as Bendtner offered at a later date.

Believable9 Unbelievable34

Calling this one false as juve announced earlier this week that they are not going for rvp anymore

Agree0 Disagree1

Why would they sell hulk to us for almost half the amount chelsea were offering and had rejected? he's over rated anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hulk you are crazy Arsenal and Hulk that is imposible

Agree1 Disagree0

Exluding tbe transfer fee, I think he'd be great at the club! Wages too high though which is a shame.

Anyone else thinks Eisfeld deserves to be in the first team..? I've been really impressed with his development.. what's your opinion Ed?
♚Jeff

Believable41 Unbelievable15

Both Aneke and Eisfeld have looked impressive in pre-season. They have the technical ability and also seem very calm and self-assured.

With Wilshere and Rosicky being injured I think they'll be in with a chance of featuring for the first team.

Stezza.

Agree2 Disagree0

I wouldn't so much say I 'want to see him in the first team' in the sense that we pick him over better players, but like I said yday to me he looks like an on-form Ramsey which is very exciting. I hope we see him step this year, but I wouldn't to not make signings and have him as starter or anything.

Zar

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes. he's saved arsenal 2 times in pre season

Agree1 Disagree0

What are you basing your opinion on jeff?

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course they do, they have played the Arsenal way for 12 months or more, why spend millions on getting a so called superstar being paid stupid money

Agree0 Disagree0

It makes sense at this stage to remember they are just prospects, because we have had good success wth youngsters we shouldnt put unnecessary pressure on them, they sure seem hungry and eager to impress though and i would prefer someone willing to run themselves through a brick wall rather than another overpaid player. keep em young and hungry then reward them when they deserve it.....pre season is just about fitness....but it is good to see talented young players we may be able to call upon....Eisfield I think we should be honest and say we were disappointed to hear we were getting from Dortmund....after all we were expecting super mario...but he may turn out to be a better player if he gets the gametime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because Superstars Win Titles

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes. kid will be awesome, get him intergrated asap! next season we may not need, eriksen or gotze as he is similar in style and in quality! definately will be on par with them and at half a million.. what a deal. nail him down to a long term contract too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul.. he just reminds me alot of a pre superstar Iniesta when I used to watch him. he has an eye for a pass ..and has clever movement considering he hasn't had first team football. in a year or so you will see what I'm talking about. and as we've seen he has an eye for goal too.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a great talent but we have to wait for the right time, if wenger send him to first team now hemight crush under the pressure, so lets leae this to wenger

Agree0 Disagree0

I would give him a year out on loan and see how he gets on.. If he does well i would MOLED the team around him ( I dont care if hes 17 +) and Wilshere , to-b honest i see him as a ideal replacement for Cesc Fabregas..
he cost us £420.000 BARGAIN!

Good news for Arsenal fans as Squillaci told by the Arsenal board to look for a club as he is no longer part of Arsene Wenger's plans. This was the main reason he was left out of Arsenal's tour. Wenger is looking to create space in the squad for potential new signings.

Squad space has been a major stumbling block in terms of new signings for Arsenal since the new premier league squad regulations came into action and has caused various deals to be delayed.
More on this to follow as soon as I get it.

♚Jeff.

Believable30 Unbelievable7

The bad news is that as long as Squillaci has a contract on a salary above what any sane club would pay him, he aint going anywhere, and cannot be forced out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes ive heard hes on around 50k!!! every players different but i hope hes the kind thats willing to take a pay cut for first team football

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems he is out. On Arsenal.com Wenger is quoted for saying that we have defenders Mertesacher, Koscielny and Sagna left back home. No word about Squillaci.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal might have to agree to lump sum payoff to him to make up the loss of wages, a loss worth taking in my opinion.
