rumours going round on twitter that utd have /or will sign nasri next couple days £23mill. please not be true

{Ed022's Note - Not gonna happen...}

Believable12 Unbelievable20

Never going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sell Nasri for £23m, Fabregas for £35m & Clichy for £10m, we will have approx £68m in our kitty. Is Gibbs any worse than Clichy? Can Wilshere replace Fab? Can Gervinho or Alvarez replace Nasri? The answer in all cases is yes. We can use the money raised to buy Cahill & Samba, with Vermaelen moving to left back & revert back to Wenger's successful 4-4-2 formation;

Szczesney
Sagna Cahill Samba Vermaelen
Walcott Song Wilshere Alvarez
Van Persie Gervinho

2nd team
Fabianski
Eboue Djourou Koscieney Gibbs
Rosicky Ramsey Abou Diaby Arshavin
Chamakh Vela

Taking into account more revenue raised by the probable sales of Bendtner & Denilson, together with approx £30m Wenger has at his disposal, we are still in a position to make signings to strenthen the squad further, with some £60 million to play with

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2011 22:36:18
To the person who said Song might be sold before Emirates cup are you crazy, Song was amazing last season and will only get better the more he plays.

for the rumours:

Cesc will stay for one last year if we fail to win again he will leave
Nasri is close to a new deal
Allan McGregor will be brought in for £6m with Bartley heading the other way for a season loan
Cahill is a divertion as Vertoghan (ajax) is Wengers man for defence

Believable12 Unbelievable18

Why would Cesc stay?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he'd like to win something with Arsenal - everyone knows that he'll end up back at Barca' but he has time on his side and for the moment the EPL is where it is at. Barca are skint and don't need him at this moment, why would he go?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, after reading articles from both Metro and Evening Standard I have become extremely confused and have devised a set of questions for you that many of this websites readers may be wondering as well as myself.

1)Will Fabregas leave?

People are convinced Fabregas is going.
However he says he will only go to Barca, yet in the papers it said Barca are getting Sanchez instead which means they cannot afford Fabregas. Also, say Barca don't buy Sanchez and bid for Fabregas, Real Madrid put in a bid of £45mil for him wheras Barca are currently only offering around £30mil. Will Arsenal get more money from Barca e.g. £50mil or will Arsenal drop to around £35mil.

2)Will Nasri leave?
There has been a lot of specualation that Nasri will leave, who are most likely to buy him? Also, considering he is advertising the new Arsenal Away kit for next season, does this mean that the rumours he may leave are false and that his future at Arsenal is secure?

3) What are the chances we get Mata?

He said that he wants to stay at Valencia and hopefully win a trophy. Also, bigger clubs are also rumoured to be interested e.g. Madrid and finally will Wenger risk offering more to ensure we get him e.g. £25mil

{Ed022's Note - Warning! The following opinion is solely mine and is in no-way a representation of anyone else. ANSWERS: 1) I think he will go. However, there are a lot of points that say he could stay. Barca are in massive debt. They have players in that position. Thiago Alacantra has just signed a new deal and is rated "better than Fabregas" by many at the Nou Camp. 2) I have said from day one Nasri will sign a four year deal worth around 100k a week. 3) I'd love Arsene to sign Mata, however, I pessimistically don't see it happening.}

hey iv been hearing/reading alot of rumours lately that Gervinho is favourite to sign for Spurs- as arsenal have not made a bid. also iv heard that a move for G.Cahill(15mil plus vela on loan) is almost done.
there have also been rumours that fabregas will be sold by the weekend giving arsenal time to buy their main targets which are believed to be hazard(20mil) (lille said if they recieve a good offer they are willing to let him go)
and a ST which could be either of Benzema/Falcoa(20-25mil), but only if real madrid get neymar and arsenal have sold bendtner...
these are not concrete but based upon the what iv heard and researched these seem highly probable, but you can never be sure with wenger( IN WENGER WE TRUST)

I am worried that most Arsenal fans are falling into the same trap that we did for Chamakh with Gervinho We all think he will be great, but he will let us down just as much However, 1st half of the season with Chamakh scoring 11 then 2nd with Gervinho scoring 11 Add that to RVPs 20 for 6 games played :) TBF though, I'm not sure that scoring goals was our downfall last season

Mong Out

{Ed022's Note - Goal scoring has never been an issue. I think im right in saying pretty much all 10 of our strongest starting line-up scored last season. We score for fun most of the time. Its at the back that is the real issue...}

Hello I have a question for ed.. I dont understand why would arsenal try to negotiate the sell of fabregas to barcelona, if last year hill-wood told that cesc price tag is 60m.. do u think arsenal will sell fabregas for the price that barca are willing to pay?

{Ed022's Note - Yes I think he will be sold this summer. I think a compromise will be found. I think £40-£45m will be the magic figures...}

Believable15 Unbelievable5

29 Jun 2011 21:22:40
i think 4 signings will be made in summer
cahil 16 mill
gervinho 12 mill
samba 10 mill
alvarez 12 mill
defensive midfield eg barton subotic with the money from nasri or fabregas
mata 20 mill
vidal or gotze 15 mill
70 million altogether
and fabs , clichy , squilaci, eboue, koscielny, djourou, bendtner, denilson, diaby
after selling all of them 60million
regards max

Believable6 Unbelievable20

Eboue, koscielny, djourou, denilson, diaby will all be there next season. Mata wont be signed and I think wenger will do his best to keep Cesc and Nasri, altho is is more likely that Fabregas will go

I love cesc he is by far and away our best player in recent years but I am now of the opinion that it could be a good thing for Arsenal to sell him aslong as we use the money we get for him in the right way It's easy for me to sit in seat at the emitlrates and talk about what wenger should do but if we get 35-40 mill we could then use that to get in players such as de Rossi and mata. De Rossi is in the last tear of his contract and could be sold for £15-£18m and by all accounts Mata could he sold for around £20mill Imagine a 3 man midfield of De Rossi, song and wilshere with Mata and Nasri either side of Rvp Then all wenger needs to do is address the defence. Some funds will be available from the sale of bendtner, rosicky denilson etc so Wenger may only have to add a bit more and the defence cab be strengthened Jags, Cahill, vergothen, samba to be honest I have my preferences but I think any of these would improve us I do believe we need 2 new CB's tho Would welcome ppls thoughts and comments on the above Cheers

"3 man midfield of De Rossi, song and wilshere with Mata and Nasri either side of Rvp"

I'd still rather Cesc any day. Why sell our best if we dont have to and settle for someone who isnt anywhere close to Cesc's level. The deadwood can go but even if we keep Cesc and Nasri Arsenal need to spend big this summer and get in a players of a very high standard. Chelsea, Man U and Man City are going to get better this season so we need major improvements but need to hold on to our tallent

Agree0 Disagree0

Like I say I love Cesc, but I think we need to face the fact that he is gone. HE WILL GO THIS SEASON. My point is lets face up to it, make sure we use the money properly and yes Cesc will not be in the midfield but do you not think the De Rossi , Song, Whilshere Mata and Nasri behind RVP would be capable of winning things? I do

I've seen a couple of videos of Gervinho online. Its difficult to tell from these compilation vids but he seemed to score quite a few shots from inside the area and looks to have some dribbling ability too. Hopefully he won't be afraid to take a shot or two from outside the box too. Looks like a reasonable signing, assumign it happens. Maybe a good replacement for vela.
What line up will we use with 3 strikers, especially if we want to give Walcott a chance up front.

Hey ed, Who do you think Arsenal Will sign and Who do you think Will go? Also do you think Fabregas or nasri Will go? {Ed022's Note - I can see Almunia, Bendtner, Rosicky, Denilson and Squillaci going. I can see us signing two defenders. Jagielka/Cahill and possibly a European cb like Sakho/Vertonghen. A striker/winger will come in and all roads lead to Gervinho. I see a big name coming in as I think Fabregas will go. As for who will come in, I honestly couldn't tell you but I feel it could be Hazard/Mata. Nasri will sign a four year deal.}

I personally do not think this Gervinho guy is the man to get us a reliable 20+ goals a season alongside RVP. We need a goal hanging box forward that keeps make running runs in behind. Defoe maybe an unpopular choice, but I think he would do well at Arsenal and score more goals than Chamack or Vela (For the same game time) and provide that cutting edge in front of goal. I reckon Defoe would jump at the chance to join us as he is out of favour at Spurs.

Ed:- What do you reckon to Defoe as a signing, and do you think Wenger is realistically looking at him as he was interested in him before? {Ed022's Note - Id have signed him before he went to Spurs personally as I think he's a good little poacher. However I don't think it'll happen now...}

Hi all and hi to the editor, you seem to make more sense than others. I have heard that Iker Muniain is all but am Arsenal player, have you heard anything about that? No goalkeepers will be signed, Szczesny is not only the future but the present, wouldn't you agree? Finally, i expect a massive signing on the 1st or 2nd July. It will be someone rarely mentioned and i'm sure the deal has been finalised already knowing AW. Ed, if i was to believe it was Ribery, would you be surprised?

GibGooner

{Ed022's Note - Honestly, I have not heard anything concrete other than interest in Muniain. All top clubs have been watching him since he scored his first league goal aged 16. With regards to Shezzy in goal. I would start with him as No:1 as I think hes got some ability and needs to be mentored by someone with experience (someone brought in as No:2) I do expect a signing on July 1st from Arsenal but would be suprised if it was Ribery. Not impossible but would be suprising.}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

I doubt Ribery signing after the issues between him and Nasri last world cup

Ive been told by a good friend who's in the youth set-up at Arsenal that Eto'o will be the surprise marquee signing around mid-end of July. Everything is Hush hush, they were waiting to see the fall out of the disiplinary hearing between Song, Eto'o and the Cameroonian FA to finalise the deal.. well, thats according to me mate like i said..

ed its not fair realy that man u have already bought two players
worth 36.6m together plus soon to be de gea so around 55m in 3 wks so ed really in this day and age in the top 6 80m is nothing im not even going to mention manc but we have got to be honest i would be so happy a massive emphasis on the so... if a rich Qatar prince came and took over the club and so would wenger one of the main reasons as to why he would probably end up at psg this time nest year if he does not preform.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Man U dont consistently spend big each year e.g. they didnt last year. They brought in £80m for Ronaldo previously to that, all of which hasnt been re-invested yet. You dont HAVE to attract oil money to be successful....just be willing to be brave in the transfer market, building on the success of previous years. Unfortunatley for gunners fans, Wenger seems incapable/afraid to build on the success he has had by investing in quality players using the funds at his disposal IMO {Ed022's Note -

To be announced and signed friday 1st. for £10.6m on a 4 year deal it took a while beacuse lille didnt want to get caught having to pay more on the payet deal.

Word has reached us that a player will be having a
medical at Arsenals training ground at London Colney "TODAY"

From what is being reported in L'Equipe, it is likely that this player is Gervinho. However there are rumours floating about that it could also be Gary Cahill.

Source: A blogger who is usually bang on about ins and outs of London Colney, he doesn't predict signings just reports goings on. Remember Medical NOT signing. It all seems well timed for July 1st, just a guess on my part but if AW has lined up his first few signings and is getting medicals out the way before completing. I would assume that AW would like to release a few signing at once as maybe a show of force and intent? up to you but a player is being assessed today at London Colney

Gervinho - will be announced on Friday
Cahill - In negotiations, ignore the Bendtner part of the deal, there is no way he will sign for Bolton
Samba - I doubt he will be signed if we get Cahill, as we have Vermaelen, Koscielny & Djourou, making 4 players for two places. We also have youngsters Miguel & Bartley. Hopefully Squilacci will depart.
Clichy & Nasri - Trying to thrash out deals. If either of them depart expect replacements to be brought in.
Fabregas - It looks increasingly likely that he will finally depart for Barca, assuming they can afford him.
Outs (definites) - Almunia, Denilson, Bendtner
Possibles - Nasri, Clichy, Fabregas, Arshavin, Eboue, Squilacci.

Ed is there any truth in these Defoe rumours? i bloody hope not. also Ed, who do you expect to be signed out of Gervinho, Alvarez, Cahill, Mata and Samba?

Cheers {Ed009's Note - I doubt Defoe will sign. Regardless of the Tottenham issue, he just isn't good enough. The only player of those I am almost certain will sign is Alvarez. Cahill and Gervinho are probably next most likely, with Mata the least, simply because of the amount of competition from others, such as Liverpool.}
