Francois Pinet reporting that we will sign alexis sanchez and Schneiderlin for a combined fee of 42 mil, now that's good news . What are your thoughts on this eds?

I know its only a rumour, but I would be over the moon with Sanchez, I don't watch a lot of European football, but I thought he was outstanding yesterday against Brazil, by far the best player on the pitch, but on the down side, that performance could have added £10 - £15m to his asking price,!

It seems the big- gigantic!- flaw with scouting at the world cup.

A bizarre idea in the first place, where huge players are concerned, as if 3-7 games should prove decisive for players who often have hundreds of games under their belts; but of far more importance if that the price can't fail to rise sharply if they do well- and then there's the billionaires to worry about who I'd imagine are apt after a brilliant performance everyone's talking about to go 'me want. get me'

Our best chance of getting established greats is if their current clubs are ludicrously well stocked with stars or have just acquired yet another one, but if said player is shining on the biggest stage the advantage for us seems likely to disappear- either they keep him, or someone even richer gets the shot in the arm and pays up big

But hey, hopefully the scouting thing is more a media invention than anything else.

Ed you said we had made a bid for Aurier, what happened with that?

Also have me made a bid for Sanchez or Schneiderlin?

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has approached Toulouse about Serge Aurier and there is interest from Marseille, QPR, Swansea, Monaco and PSG. Toulouse will look to hang on to the player. Whilst there is no agreed deal with Toulouse, they have an offer from Arsenal which may be acceptable. Again, whilst Aurier is not first choice for PSG, there remains a good chance they will be making an offer. l'OM stepped back from any transfer for the player. This will probably go on for a while.}

A friend of mine at the Emirates who I spoke to Friday told me that the Balotelli deal could be back on, just could be.
No guarantees though. Something went on recently so keep your fingers crossed.

Goldboy, your man in the know seems to be about 24 hours behind the internet news. Is he ITK or just reads the net? No offence meant as I enjoy your posts - just questioning as so many people think they are ITK.

SY4. Mate am I supposed to jump on here every time someone says something.? Read my post it was FRIDAY I heard this about 9.30 am. Unfortunately I was busy burying my friend otherwise I may of been available to spread what I heard as it was so important! Jeez!

Tuttosport saying Sanchez has all but signed for Juve. Hoping it isn't true though.
