In the summer I think we should try and bring Brendon Rogers in, the 39 year old Swansea manager who has been able to get his team to play attractive football. Just what Arsenal need someone who can motivate ordinary players to perform above there normal level. He might even improve Sqillaci a little bit so someone might actually buy him, what a start that would be.

Believable14 Unbelievable38

You Think Brendon Rogers Could HAve Made Henry...

Agree0 Disagree0

I've been preaching this to happen. Good someone else likes the idea as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

No i don't think he could but nor could AW now as he has lost his magic hat.

Agree0 Disagree0

There were reports of a 500k bid for Sq from Monaco which was turned down...

JW

Agree0 Disagree0

WOW!! How fickle.

Asking for wengers head, and to replace hime with sumeone who has had a good half season in the prem? I know wenger is not the best but at least give him credit enough not to jump on the hyp band wagon

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown for hull city did well in his first season do you want us to get him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Better idea... try bringing in some players that can kick a ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard something more idiotic....symptomatic of the glory chasers...Brendan as promising as he is has only just started in the league(aside being the youth coach if Chelsea sometime ago)...if u really really really want to replace one of the best managers in the world...wouldn't you do with managers that are young And hVe had more experience in top football?
EV

Agree0 Disagree0

Rogers is the real thing who speaks intelegently about football where as Brown was a singer who had a bit of luck for short while at Hull.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember the Hodgson Liverpool fiasco, some managers are just a class above, don't you think you might be throwing someone like Brendan Rogers in at the deep end?

Agree0 Disagree0

God no, Wenger is far better. I like Rodgers as a manager and his current team play some nice stuff.

Still though are you actually serious? He has absolutely no pedigree or experience in anything outside of Championship football and this seasons so-far over achievement in the league.

Wenger has been there and done it throughout Europe there are only about 3 managers in the entire world with more experience in managing a successful league team.

CS

Agree0 Disagree0

There are about 4/5 top managers that are capable of working under limited resources, able to develop and help maintain a strong youth academy system (whether you like it or not - that is what helps us being self sustaining...we can sell/loan young/able players at higher resale or promote them to the first team squad)...

Remi Garde, Jurgen Klopp, D Moyes, Dragan, Unai Emery, etc..

Before we plan his dismissal (AW) cant we just allow him to finish the season first and see where the chips may lie...is that too much to ask ?
(please no comments of the 'he has had 6 years blah blah blah..' - thats just narrow minded and simple in my humble opinion lol)
EV

Agree0 Disagree0

My original post was just assuming that we get knocked out of the FA Cup, Champions Leauge and don't get fourth place. Then the situation would be untenable for AW and i would hope that he would do the decent thing and resign rather than be pushed. We would then also be able to assess Rogers and the managers that you have suggested to see who would best fit the Arsenal set up.

Agree0 Disagree0

My comment stems from the fact that our performance is dependent on the plaer performance and availability...there are other things that need to change before you decide to throw away the Mgr (or 'falls on his sword' as you want him to )...
So irrespective of the Mgr you decide to bring in, it may be that whatever his prowess he may not do any beter unless some of these things are addressed which are more structural than just 'Oh it must ALL be THE manager's fault;
EV

Agree0 Disagree0

The manager is responsible for the way the players play and therefore the buck stop's with him. We as supporters are never going to be able to alter the structure of the club, the only thing we can do is voice our opinions about the shortcomings of AW and the board and hope they make the right descisions. Most of what's put on this site is hot air as that's how we take out our frustrations out with the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes. great idea. he's won loads. and you cant even spell his name right. well done.

Agree0 Disagree0

You idiot, if everyone had to spell correctly on this site it would be empty & numties like you would not feel the need to post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last year it was Owen coyle

I've heard from a couple of folks that Wenger is looking into the possibility of signing Antoine Greizmann, another kid at the age of 20. Plays at the youth national level for France, plays as a left winger and can also be used as a striker and currently plays for Real Socidedad. He's contracted until 2015 I believe but has a release clause of around 30 mil~

So far this year he's made 18 appearances scoring 3 and assisting 3.

He's french and he's young, so I thought it sounded convincing enough.

Believable2 Unbelievable19

He is very good. We've likely been watching him for a long time...

Had he stayed in France and not moved to a superior league in Spain, we'd be talking about him much more...

Arsenal have made preliminary moves to sign midfielder Claudio Yacob from Argentina's Racing Club, and could snap up the player on a free transfer in the summer.

And Arshavin is not going anywhere until the Summer :(

Believable18 Unbelievable6

This wouldnt be bad read it in the mirror this morning

If you was RVP would you stay at Arsenal next season?

Believable39 Unbelievable33

No, I would want to go to an ambitious club to try and win trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never ever!! van persie deserves more especially now that whatever contract he gets next may just be his last big contract...
iwarutis

Agree0 Disagree0

I would see who AW buys in the summer and if 2-3 bigs names are not brought in, id leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, as much as I love arsenal he deserves more. if we were close to the title then yes fair enough but were not even close to 4th! Just hope we can get a really good fee for him...

Agree0 Disagree0

No. I would be off at the first opportunity (just hope that he takes Walcott with him). Feeder club from now on !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol am I the only one who would stay until the end of my career? I have more than enough money and everything I want already; I can win trophies here just going through a bad patch...

What I would say if I was van Persie. I doubt he will leave yet.

CS

Agree0 Disagree0

I would stay because i'm a f**kin gunner.

In Arsene I Trust

Agree0 Disagree0

No Id be off. To be fair to the guy he has been a good player and good captain, he deserves a couple of years at Barcelona. To all the Spuds on here gloating, Modric will be off in the summer, if he was going to stay he'd sign the contract for 100k a week but he won't because he knows he can move where he wants if he runs his contract down a bit more. Adebayor won't sign for you due to wage disparity and I think bids will come in for Bale as well from the likes of Barca. You are doing well now but like Arsenal you have a low wage structure which means as soon as a bigger team comes in for one of your players you are f*****.

GoonerDan

Agree0 Disagree0

CS, does your bad patch have a time limit?
For me a bad batch is a few months. A six year bad patch with no end in sight is pushing the limits of reality

Agree0 Disagree0

If i was RVP i would stay.
But then again i know the meaning of loyalty!

The club stood by him when he had a court case, and when he has been sidelined for injury, every year since he's been here apart from the last.

So, if he has any pride in himself and not just greed, perhaps he should stand by us, now he has had a good season.

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP will not be there nxt season.100%

Agree0 Disagree0

We have only been doing badly enough to worry in the last 2 years. I never expected Arsenal to win trophies every year in 20 years of supporting Arsenal.

That's an unreasonable thing to expect of any team in fair competition. That's the whole point in sport to determine the winner.

CS

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP and Wenger will be on the same plane to Madrid.

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP will stay 100%

A GOONER

Agree0 Disagree0

Rvp is world class, no doubt about that, but how much longer can he carry you guys? If he doesnt score, no one else will! If i was rvp, i would leave, get more money and sunshine in madrid. I want my life to be happy, not playing next to wallcock

Yid army! {Ed027's Note - ey ey wallcock is my word

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol-sorry ed!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with above poster, this is the first full season we have had out of him, he on 90000 a week and this is 1st season he has really payed AFC back for it! Some loyalty from robin and being the main man here should be enough to see him stay! Gunner till i die!

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no loyalty in football. Football is about winning trophies in your short career not playing in a second rate no hope team

Agree0 Disagree0

I would expect every Arsenal Fan to understand if i requested to leave. With the knowledge that No Fan would claim i never played for the Team with Heart, Soul and Desire. Reality is Sport has, is and always will be about Achievements. Footballers want to Win League Titles and CL(Ala Henry, Fabregas, Hleb, Flamini..) irrespective of which part of the world they come from. If you think of it quite a few players left Arsenal to go on to achieve. For the time being we dont look good for any Honour, but we have to support the Team regardless.

Hope Ramsey gets dropped!
He slows the game down and gives the ball away constantly.
And as for his shooting......let'snot go there.
He is well over his injury now, so let's see the back of this average player

Believable28 Unbelievable34

He's slowing the pace...not creative enuf..still av much to learn..prefer rosicky better than him...Wenger shud replace him wit someone who more of creativity..

Agree0 Disagree0

I definitely don't want to see him dropped, he is playing very well for us at the moment.. The only problem I have with him is he can play negative football sometimes, likes to play it backwards a lot of the time instead of forwards. Obviously you can't play a constant forward game, but I just feel often he looks to offload the ball backwards rather than move it on up the pitch. Maybe it's a sign that he isn't 100% confident?

Agree0 Disagree0

Shouldn't be dropped?
What have you been watching.
Him and Walcott are our worse players

Agree0 Disagree0

With Ramsey this is his first full season. He still is only 21. It's not his fault he has to play almost every game, its Wenger's for not buying adequate players to rotate him with. The problem isn't the players we've got, it's Wenger's fault for not replacing the rubbish ones and buying to provide competition/respite for the inexperienced ones like Ramsey.

GoonerDan

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey and Walcott are great squad players. We however do not have a great squad! players who only show there class for 10 games a season are having to play all the time. but hey we are still in with a fighting chance for 4th, were in the FA Cup and Champions league so lets try and stay positive and hope the players do as well. at the end of August we all thought we was in a relegation fight!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey is just awful. Out Ramsey!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who will play behind rvp when wilshere is back? wilshere or ramsey? {Ed027's Note - whens wilshere back for a start

Agree0 Disagree0

?? Are you crazy!! Probably the best link up player we have left! Just need to rest him for a couple of games as he played in every game especially when Arteta got injured!

Agree0 Disagree0

You're mad.. Ramsey's been one of our top performers for us this season in general. He's had his bad games like everybody else but definitely not worth a drop. Watch some games.

Agree0 Disagree0

A specialist on foot injuries was on TV last nite and he said that wilsheres original injury has healed and that this is a stress fracture of the heel.He also said that some bones in the foot take longer to heal depending on the blood flow in the area.He then said that the blood flow to the heel is very good and that the heel is the quickest to recover.

6 years we have given wenger to build a team and he has failed.
what does every 1 want to do give him 7,8,9,10 years before you say enough?
YOUR OUT OF TIME WENGER.
EITHER COME OUT NOW AND SAY YOUR GOING TO BUY QUALITY PLAYERS IN THE SUMMER OR F*** OFF NOW
YOUR OUT OF TIME

Believable34 Unbelievable31

Well said

Agree0 Disagree0

I never get people who keep on about the 6 years without a trophy.

Look at the 6 years; Champions League final, 2 Carling cup finals, top 4 every year - for god's sake it's not like we have been that far off is it?

This season we have been as poor as I can remember for a long time, but if you look at how many games there are to play, who we have to come back and which competitions we are still in then things are not really as bad as many would have you believe.

I ask everyone who wants Wenger sacked this:-

Do you trust the board to bring in a decent replacement for him?

Do you believe that Peter Hillwood could replace Wenger with someone who could do better than he has done?

Agree0 Disagree0

Handome 1

It is all the more frustrating because each year we have been very close to winning and it has been obvious that we are close but never do win because we lack that extra quality. But wenger has never tired hard enough to get that extra quality. Infact he has sold/made to sell when ever players start reaching their peak. So he has to go.

The question for you is: will we win anything in the next 3-5 years if we keep going along this path? i dont think so, so at that point we would have been 9-12 years without a trophy because we show no ambition.

Where is the quality in the team ?

Ash

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will win the FA Cup this year, and will (if TV5, LK6, Sagna, Shezza, Song and Arteta...our spine, stay healthy) put a real run in for the Champions League

I'm being serious. I know I'll get ripped hard for this...
