Hello guys, I bought forward the news of the Bender bid, but it looks like a no-go.

The latest movement looks towards none other than Man City's Micah Richards.

He does not look to be in Mancini's plans for this season, and we are looking at a fee of around £9 million.

To the person who asked about michel bastos contract, no i dont believe he is, but he is one of the players lyon are looking to sell so they can try to strengthen their team in other areas as well.

I think he'd be a good signing, even if he is 29. Experienced signings offered us a lot last season, e.g. Arteta, Yossi, and even Rosicky stepped it up. A bit of experience wouldnt be bad imo.

Guys you obviously haven't seen muc of bastos if you think he's quality, he used to be descent but he really isn't very good very left footed and hit and miss kinda player

Lyon bought him for about 20+mil so i doubt they'd sell him for less than 14mil.

Who in their right mind would pay £8m for Walcott in January, when they can get him to sign a pre contract agreement then.
By January, he will have played in the Champ League and worth nothing to a big team.

He has been on trial at the club for the last 2 weeks. He has impressed everyone. He is an u19 International with great presence in the box calm on crosses (already taking the ball on the rise not on the fall aka Mannone!) Good distribution and excellent reflexes. Iliev was released by FK Belasica Strumica in March so we probably won't have to pay the 300k training fee!

Just because we sign youngsters at 17 this lad will be home grown by the time he his 21!

We also have a small goalkeeper crisis at this moment in time in the youth ranks with a number of injuries.

Chamakh, Park and Bendtner were not at practice.

Park apparently left with 2 big suitcases. Apparently off to Celta Vigo. One of the mode head scratching moves in recent years for AFC. Park hasn't looked half bad when he did play, and certainly looked better than Chamakh after Chamakh lost his confidence.

Bendtner is supposedly off to Juve. Giovinco is the perfect partner for Bendtner, 2 completely different type of players. There also isn't any competition for Bendtner if he goes there, as none of Juve's CFs/Strikers seem to be rated above Bendtner at this point.

No idea where Chamakh is headed.

Also, Arsenal have once again renewed their interest in van der Wiel. I don't rate him, and think he has been underwhelming past couple years. But as a backup to Sagna, I guess you can't do worse. He is a technically sound player offensively, but like most Arsenal players, loves bombing forward, and then gets caught out of position when it's time to track back. This is a guy who still has potential, and was slated to go to Barca, Chelsea, etc before his fall into mediocrity. Perhaps he needs a change of scenery?

I simply cannot believe that AW needs Steve Rowley's opinion on Clint Dempsey to know if we should consider signing him ie will he fit into our system? Will he complement what we have already? AW has seen Dempsey almost as much as Jol, Sparky, Coleman et al. He is probably the foremost student of the game in the world and spends every waking moment watching DVDs of players and studying their profiles. Rowley may advise on players we might scout from other leagues but not an established EPL player, surely?

I agree with the last post. It's fine getting your house in order and AW is dealing in real life, not the hungry wish lists of us punters, but what the flip more does he need to know? Also why is it that we would leave everything to the last 36 hours? It just doesn't compute with the received image that everything else is so meticulously planned and researched and ordered at Arsenal (last summers' last transfer window day aside when we has to respond to the Old Trafford debacle). I wouldnt mind dempsey. got 23 goals for fulham last year.. imagen what he could do with service from cazorla, and pod etc.. he knows where the back of the net is, works hard, is tryed and tested in prem and not overly exspensive.. would defo want others in aswell tho, he would be good but still hopefull of this so called marquee signing aswell!

Know nothing about this, but I could see Arsenal swooping in opportunistically here, especially as we've lacked cutting edge to start the season. Dempsey hasn't gone about leaving Fulham the right way, but he's 29 and this will be his last chance at a big move. His ambition is to play at a CL club and he's willing to prove himself from the bench if necessary. Perhaps he's not someone Arsenal targeted but as the Liverpool move did not materialize, he could definitely help Arsenal at the right price. To those saying he couldn't help - who had the best record in the league over the past couple of years among these: Dempsey, Arshavin, Chamakh, Bendtner, Gervinho?

Dempsey would be a great edition. He brings that passion we hardly see from our players, besides hanging their heads. Hes 29 years old an he knows his time is running out. I dont see why you can blame him for wanting to join a club that is always in the CL.
