Arsenal negotiating with Corinthians for the sale of former Milan striker, Alexandre Pato who returned to Brazil in Jan this year. A bid of bid of £10m with £5m in add-ons including appearances offered.

Arsenal have submitted a £13m offer Daniel De.Rossi of Roma which has been accepted, but player wants to remain in Italy.

I've heard this also from a member of Roma supporters club, but the fee believed to be 18 million Euros. Also told an enquiry has been made for Juves Chellini, don't think myself he would be available.

The only thing that made me think we would sign anyone else is the FACT that Wenger stated he was confident of signings because the players wanted to sign for Arsenal, Cabaye (not happening), we signed Flamini instead. FACT Both players wanted to sign for Arsenal. I am not sure anyone else will sign

Arsenal are waiting until deadline day to make a bid for Gareth"too slow" Barry, that's only if they fail to get Yohan Kebab.
They will also make deadline day bids for Michu and Sebastian Giovinco if they fail with bids for Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria.

Finally some good news, Arsenal in talks with Crystal Palace for the sale of Bendtner, reliable source telling me that Crystal Palace want around £5 million compensation.

I hear you ed and totally agree. its a roller coaster ride being a gooner. the problem is at this moment in time all of us want to "throw up over the side"

A bit of reality people - we've tried to sell him and he won't lower his wage demands. the world's greatest and Park are the only 2 players we've tried and failed to ship out. So on that front, we've had a successful transfer window. What AW was saying it is it unlikely he'll be sold now. But I don't EVER want to see Bendtner on the bench, let alone playing for our club again.

I still want to remain optimistic about transfers IN to the club - but I'm beginning to wane.

The fact is, Wenger has shipped out over 20 "deadwood" players, yet he brought most of them to the club - he may have initially been able to spot a future star, but clearly he has now lost it! What happens now is anybody's guess but the thought of Bendtner back in an Arsenal shirt is just making us a laughing stock.

This one is not really Wenger's fault, Bendtner is being a bit of a person and is quite hard to shift.

Bendtner is certainly not fit at the moment and he has issues to deal with. But if he finally gets his mind right and concentrate on his football career, I am sure he can be a massive player. I aggree he is not likely to be in the starting eleven, but still he is a good player - quite similar to Giroud. Also I can't understand why it has to be such a bad thing, that he once said he thought he was potentially one of the best forwards in the World. He clearly isn't that, but I would rather have a player who believes in himself than one who don't dare shoot being afraid to fail.

Wrong again. We've actually put a bid in for gender bender. But it's quite a long process and the signing won't officially go through until the January 2015.

Can speaking stop calling above average players world class. World class is RVP, Ronaldo, Messi etc. I wouldn't even call Rooney world class. For the record I think our team has 0 world class players.

Spuds are claiming they've signed 6 world class players this transfer window. No they haven't - they've signed 6 UEFA cup players.

Cazorla wouldn't walk anywhere near Real Madrid, damn he hardly walks into Spain.

World class is used too loosely now a days.

I admit Santi is close but we wouldn't walk into any of those teams. He would certainly get games for them. World class should mean a certain starter for pretty much any team (including international teams, possibly apart from Spain if they are a midfielder).

World class for me: Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Ramos, Thiago Silva, Lahm, Cesc, RVP, Alonso, Alba, Schweinsteger, Neuer, Falcao, Vidic, Pirlo, Alves, plus a few more.

If world class includes all these and more, they would by definition not be 'certain starters' in any team would they.

Urban Coeur - Duh! any real team. There can be more than 11 world class players. All of those players would be pretty much certain starters for any team bar Barca and Spain. that's my point.

Another potential definition (which would probably produce the same result) would be any player that would get into the either the world XXII (i.e best 22 players with 2 LBs, 2RBs, 4CBs, 2 GKs etc. )

I think you missed the point and then reiterate the same thing. To suggest that 'world class' only applies to the worlds best 22 or even 30 players is absurd.

I really don't think suggesting that only the worlds best 20-30 players can be classed as world class is absurd. Its far more absurd to suggest Torres is a world class player.

At the same time I'm not going to argue with anyone if they think Bale, Rooney, Cazorla, David Silva, Mata are world class. I'd say they are probably top 30 in the world so borderline.

If rvp is world class then what happens in 5 years time if there is 50 players playing at a better level than he is now. surely then there would be 50 world class players. limiting it is short sighted. it depends on what standard there is at any giving time to judge how many world class players there is.

I'm not saying there is a hard limit and yes standards do change slowly, but its hardly short sighted to say that to be considered one of the top players in the world (i.e world class) you have to be in the top 20-30 players. Top 50 odd is fine too. But please people need to stop saying someone is world class when they wouldn't make a top 100. Torres for example is probably not even in the top 20 strikers.

If my very rough guide for how I judge someone being world class is so crazy - please someone suggest better. Perhaps they play somewhere in the world,
? they know where the world is? They can spell "world class"? (that might catch some players out)

I take it there's been no interest in cardozo, ed? Not exactly the world class striker we was looking at, but he bangs them in for fun, albiet in a less competitive league than the bpl. Cheap and has a great record in europe as of late too. {Ed001's Note - there has been interest from Cardiff in the Prem, but not from Arsenal.}

Hi, just Heard on spanish radio program "Mundo Deportivo" in Catalunya, that following Kaka's comments on his desire to leave Madrid, that he has apparently been talking to AFC as his priobable next destination. Real Madrid are not going to hold the player, and a fee should be worked out fairly quickly. If that does't fall through, he'll then go to Brazilian football. Eds, any truth in this? {Ed001's Note - the issue is not the fee, it is his wages, which are massive. Madrid have been trying to offload him all summer.}

Do not be surprised to see Kaka in an Arsenal shirt this season. And this is not wishful thinking either No.11 shirt is ready.

He can't go to Brazil because the transfer window has shut there. Its going to be a move within Europe. I can see United possibly getting him, they need that CAM style player.
