Am I the only one worried about gervinho don't no if it's just me but I didn't see much & seemed to be dispossesed very easily?

NO. He scored twice on his debut and had an assist today, i'd say thats pretty impressive, give the guy a chance he only just moved to arsenal

I suppose he is yet to be proven in England, and could turn out to be a flop, but so far the omens are good. Plus can you imagine the pressure or playing in your new home stadium for the first time? I'd say it is very very difficult

He is something different someone who will take players on and has shown already the potential he has im suprised you could not see how impressive he was in his first 2 games

The first 10 mins or the game everyone was a little shaky, but when we got into it he was brilliant, good assist too

Gervinho is a dynamo, i think he's a great addition. Get mata on the other wing and nasri in the centre and we'll be unstoppable

expect mata to be signed by monday, barcelona have been given untill the end of sunday for the transfer of fabregas- they have been told to either pay 40mil or leave him alone, as it is creating alot of distress both for fabregas and arsenal.
arsenal's no.1 target to replace fabregas is hazard, although his signing will only be determined on whether he wants to leave or not, as lille had said an offer of 25mil euros could be tempting.
jagielka's transfer is on a knife's edge, as everton are stalling on a decision of a new bid of about 14/15mil, as they need the money to improve the squad but will also be losing a key player.
cahill is the 2nd choice but a major doubt as bolton's valuation is considered too pricey.
that will conlcude the signings- hence only 2 signings will be made if fabregas stays i.e. mata and jag/cahill.. and 3 if fabregas is sold i.e. hazard or any other replacement if hazard doesnt become available.
expect the departures of the obvious- bendtner, almunia, denilson(done), possibly squallaci as wenger is getting impatient with his constant mistakes and poor performances.
eboue is likely to stay as is arshavin and unfortunately diaby(liabilty) however could change if decent offers came in.

Wenger has said Eboue is on the verge of a move....

I have been a gunners fan my whole life and one player I highly rate in today's team is diaby. I can not understand where people get their information or stats from to claim Diaby is a liability. He is a fantastic player with his skill, close control attacking and tackling. There are a few criticised players that will shine this season or next. This includes Diaby along with Walcott, Arshavin and Frimpong an don't be surprised if Rosicky rolls back the years.

Can not see anyone taking almunia atletioc have got the new chelsea keeper (courtois?) on loan, we have szecsney, fabianski, mannone and almunia can we not just terminate his contract and be done with it?

doubt we will sign mata if fab stays if the mata rumours are to be believed then fab must be expected to go but still epxect a deal closer to 35m not the 40m arsenal are holding out for. very poor that nasri will leave for free to a prem league rival in a year hope he puts a shift in this season if not better to sell for 10m in jan but again he holds all the cards.

Nasri won't go for free - that is just Wenger playing his poker hand - it's his way of saying 'he's that important to us so if you want him now then talk serious money'. He has already made it abundantly clear in recent months that there is no way on earth he is letting anyone go on a free who has star quality. Just him making moves.

ed who do you see mata going too? i was confident we were going to sign him but now tottenham are interfering im becoming anxious that we may miss out again on a quality player. {Ed002's Note - I suspect there maybe one or two more parties showing an interest before the week is out. Spurs have no champions league to offer which may see them off.}

well it looks like spurs want mata, doubt we'll be getting him now im wondering if we've actually made any enquiry into him or shown any interest in him. arsenal are such a disappionment

Cant see him moving to anyone unless they play champions league football, no matter how much they offer. spurs are effectively a step down from valencia this season. more likely to sign for arsenal than spurs

Todays spanish press is saying that Barcelonas priority is to sign Nemanja Vidic.
I don't belive it will ever happen but that info is confirming my suspicion that Barca has problem with defence and certainly will have to spend money on defender.
Considering Barcelona's financial problems I AM QUITE SURE THEY HAVE NO CHANCE TO SIGN FABREGAS.
Certainly, the way how Thiago Alacantra is playing there is less posibility Barcelona will insist of Fabregas.

Great, squillaci and djourou just showed they are nowhere near good enough to play for us. getting cahill/samba/jagielka would help but the way we defend it will not be a quickfire solution

FRIMPONG IS fab he has showed he is better thaan ramsey as he has not lost a pass everytime he has the ball he keeps it and his passes get to who they are meant to go to ramsey scored but he just made us concede

They play diffrent postions so how can u compare them

What match were you watching? Frimpong can't pass to save his life He's good at tackling but can't pass at all. He's like a young alex song.. I hated song till about 2yrs ago because his passing was just not arsenal standard. Ramsey is a much better player at the moment.

I think Frimpong is the most exciting player on the pitch. Of course Gervinho looks brilliant and Wilsh has improved even more, but Frimpong shows exactly the sort of steel that we have been lacking. Not bad on the ball either.

Jenkinson just runs around alot, crosses too deep every time and gets caught napping, not good. I agree with Frimpong looking class though.

Traore left the back door open all day long, one time a goal resulted, he would look silly against EPL competition

My dad is the ceo of company called red and white, owned by Usmanov, who has around a third of the shares in arsenal. My dad told me that he requested a meeting with Stan Kreonke to discuss Usmanov giving transfer funds to Kreonke to buy a defender. Kreonke rejected the proposal, as in he didn't even meet him. I think this is ridiculous since he need two defenders right now, not one. Also, does what Wenger said about Mata yesterday mean he hasn't bid for him?

Does anyone else think stan kronke is the wrong owner for arsenal. Usmanov should be the owner, he has more money and he would have brought david dein back, wenger and dein together are a formidable force . Wenger is doing too much.

Also Usmanov is a genuine fan. When Kronke got majority shares apparently they said to him we should just buy a different club, and he refused because he would only buy arsenal as it's his favourite.

Kroenke has more experience in running sports teams sure, but he runs them with eyes on making a profit not winning championships/trophies. Usmanov has at least come out and shown some ambition to invest in the squad.

Kronke will end up being hated like hicks and gillet but hopefully for not financially ruining the club but actually making too much money

If only Kroenke understood that if we won things then we would be more profitable. Last time I checked coming 4th in the league, semis of the champs league, and not winning any trophies does not pay as much as winning the league and the champs league.

My latest info on Arsenal is that Mata will sign which will then give Fabregas the all clear to leave for around 40m. Barcelona are thought to be offering 26m + installments. A previous Barcelona offer offered 20m + 10m installments + 1 Senior Player from Maxwell, Jeffren or Milito + 1 Youth from Muniesa, Espinosa or Montoya. This was not an official bid but a deal that was propositioned by the Barca officials. Anyway onto some rumours. AW will make a last bid for Jagielka for 17 million. If rejected he will turn to Cahill or Samba. Jags is his number 1 target but he will not pay over the odds. An interesting deal that could be resurrected is the one for Douglas Costa. Whilst Lucas Biglia has been mooted, don't be surprised to see Costa come in this window or Jan. Hazard and Benzema both remain targets of Wengers as well as Marvin Martin. Benzema may still come in but its a very, very small chance. Mourinho wants three strikers, Tevez, Neymar and Adebayor but is finding hard to depart with Benzema who has hit great form and Higuain who is a proven scorer. Benzema is the most likely and Wenger could swoop in. But may have to wait until next year for any deal for Benzema to happen.

Such rubbish, Mata is going to Spurs, we can't pay the full transfer fee in one go, we want to pay in instalments. I still can't work that out though, we hardly ever sign anyone then when we try we can't pay for him so Spurs beat us to it. Typical Arsenal, typical Wenger. Sack him & get someone in that can actually do a deal.

Why would Mata even want to move to Spurs? They don't have Champs League and are unlikely to get into top 4 this year. Would be a backwards move from Valencia.

According to a very good source Mata has agreed to join Spurs, it will be announced on Monday. £22 million, plus £140 grand a week. Mata's agent (his Dad has said Arsenal couldn't offer him enough in wages and Spurs are a better bet at the moment as their long term plans are far better than Arsenal's). i have been in spain for the last 2 weeks and i happened to see ray parlour , the lad is still very much connected to the club and he said the signing of mata , jags and enrique will be completed within the next few days , also said that wenger is more interested in getting his main man ( mata ) so he can exite fans in the emirates cup. He is very interested in jags and enrique but will work on a deal to deal basis and wont be signing anyone before we get mata even if that means going to deadline day

i dont think arsenal will sign a defensive midfielder because most of the ones linked with us have joined differnt teams.

Forgot to add- mata apparently likes our style of play and would be his 1st choice. Also we have CL football over the spuds, which is a biggie for a lot of players, especially of his class.
