Ed question please. Man city are being touted as being interested in our star striker, as well as psg. With the signings citeh have made and the signing pgs may make, wouldn't signing Sanchez put them both in breach of fair play rules and put at risk their champs league places. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It depends on who they sell and how they structure payments etc.. If they cannot justify the deal then, yes, it could become and issue next year. Both will be aware of this and will make provisions.}

Thanks ed, very interesting.

Qatar will pay Neymar to buy out his own contract, in exchange for being a spokesperson for their World Cup 2022. He will then move to PSG as a free agent. According to the latest news anyway.

Sickening isn't it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the same Qatar that already employs Barcelona as a spokesperson for their World Cup bid? They sponsor the club, so already get to use the players in adverts for both their airline and the World Cup. Be an odd thing to then upset the club they sponsor and have worked closely with over the last few years, just to get something they already have.....}

They will just sign some kind of new sponsorship deal with one of their owners companies and will get paid in millions.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that.}

I do think it sounds unlikely given Barcelona presumably want to hold onto Neymar, but this would be the perfect way to transfer an asset from one subsidiary to another.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is not how it works, football clubs are not seen as 'subsidiaries'.}

Eds I've a question regarding these far fetched posts I'm reading. Has a player to your knowledge ever moved clubs because of sponsors wanting it. Seems ridiculous to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not to my knowledge.}

Thanks ed. I thought it'll be unlikely. I remember when arsenal switched to puma people was saying so and so does advertising for puma so they want him at arsenal. Always seemed stupid rumours.

I read that as a sneer at my post D16, so allow me to clarify - PSG are owned by the Qatari royal family. Qatar do not own Barcelona, they just sponsor them. So they want to advance PSG's interests and see pissing off Barcelona as an acceptable risk if it can make PSG stroll Ligue 1 and have a better shot at winning the CL.

Again, not my view, but the view of the media.

I just find the whole thing stupid If I'm honest. Not you, bob mean no offence to you. Just the way the media feed us such nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if people weren't dumb enough to believe the tripe, then they wouldn't get fed it!}

That's very true Ed001. Sadly people do and always will. It's the exact reason i just don't buy any newspapers anymore. I used to enjoy sitting down and reading what is going on in the world but most of it especially the sports it's just nonsense. and then there's the sun obviously which makes all the others look honest and respectful 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know why people think PSG need another reason to buy Neymar other than he will increase their brand on and off the pitch. It is nothing to do with Qatar as such.}

He is a very good player for Seville, plays in a position which obviously suits him, and was quite instrumental in their strong run last year. However, he didn't quite make it previously in the premiership, and is pushing on a bit age wise, so i don't think he would ever be an option anyway. However, i do like his physique and would prefer we sign a DM of similar build.

I must admit, being a friendly he did commit plenty, was available for passes and scored albeit a badly defended goal, one perhaps WE might not have conceded had we someone who was competent in the DMF position.
A very underrated player who wouldn't cost a huge amount, has bags of experience in his position and in the country, he's played for stoke and Blackburn nearly 200 times.
Let's be honest.
United just laid out the guts of £40m for a guy who mourinho rates and who basically tackles and passes, which is pretty much what N'Zonzi does, but for half the price.
Can anyone recommend someone as experienced and as cost effective as him.
And I really dislike him to be honest he really is an anti footballer. The reason Wenger won't buy him. his ball skills are utter dump, my 5 year old might be better. But compare him to the likes of William Carvhalho, who would cost the same, maybe more, but let's be honest if Carvalho was world class wouldn't be even at Arsenal. he be at Madrid or Manchester dare I say it.
N'Zonzi for the right money. would be a good buy.

{Ed001's Note - you are being unfairly harsh on N'Zonzi, he just looks awkward, like Peter Crouch, rather than actually being poor. His control is a little loose, but he has long legs that just reach out and whip it away from a defender when they commit themselves to a challenge. Being gangly just makes him look like he is about to lose the ball, or trip over his own feet, but that moment never comes.}
