Ed, how do you rate the chances of arsenal signing benzema or higuain if real madrid secure the signing of neymar?
Also do you have any idea why Wenger is hanging back so much is such an important transfer window for the club, we need bug signings and he said himself that he wants to get most of his business done before the Emirates Cup, thats only a few weeks away and there isnt much signs that he is doing much

Thanks {Ed009's Note - I think Benzema is a lot more likely than Higuain and you were previously in negotiations with Madrid over the transfer.}

Believable8 Unbelievable10

I know it seems as he isnt doin much but I can guarantee that behind closed doors he has some real treats lined up for us soon ;) JUST BELIEVE..we have to ;)

Hi ed, would like to know any rumours about some players:

Mata
Gervinho
Cahill
Samba
Eto'o

Arsenal 4 life {Ed009's Note - Mata is apparently a possibility, and would be a very good signing. There is competition from Liverpool, Man City and Barcelona and if it gets into a direct bidding war I'm afraid I can't see Arsenal winning. Gervinho is a likely signing, provided terms are met. Cahill is a potential for centre back as he is just what Arsenal need and you have good relations with Bolton after Wilshere's loan. Vela could well go on loan as part of the deal. Samba is a similar situation, although less likely after Jones' exit. I really can't see Eto'o joining.}

Believable14 Unbelievable7

What legitimate source says there is interest from liverpool barcelona and man city for mata? someone on here saying it, doesnt mean its true.

likewise, liverpool are supposedly interested in charlie adam, but so are '2 other clubs' - who those 2 clubs are, nobody knows. brilliant. nobody knows anything tbh. {Ed001's Note - the 2 other clubs are Villa and Spurs, Stoke made an enquiry too.}

nasri off to city..fab off to barca.clichy off to city...this is so depressing....have arsenal become a feeder club in your opinion ed? how do you feel bout these players leavin...and two of them to our rivals?? {Ed009's Note - I am not an Arsenal fan, so you can take this as wholly unbiased. Arsenal are not a feeder club in the slightest but, unfortunately, the tendency to choke in the last few seasons may have cost you dear. Any player who would rather play for Man City does not deserve a place in your team, and you'd be better rebuilding anyway. There is interest in Benzema, Gervinho (of course) and Cahill, all of whom are very good players. If Cesc leaves, expect a replacement. Not that you need one with England's finest Wilshere on your team. Stay positive mate... hmmm maybe I DO support Arsenal? ;).}

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Clichy being fed to someone? he sucks. plus fab was always going to leave and nasri is a money grabber he wil go down hill at city just like kolo and adebayor lol if nasri leaves to city i will hate him and i wont be able to wait until he goes down hill lololol

Agree0 Disagree0

My sentimates exactly Ed009. Wilshire is completely capable of filling fabs boots and could even proove to be the better player in my eyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsene Wenger had already said at the start of last season that if they didn't win anything, he would have to change things around for the start of this season.Nasri had a good season, but we actually scored more goals when he wasn't playing, Clichy gives the ball away when put under pressure and Fabregas wants away to Barca.If Arsene is given the cash to improve the team, then there is no better manager in the world to do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I just read tjat city has made bid on nasri for 20 million £.. And that they have won the bidding over United. Is this true ed?:/ {Ed009's Note - the signing has not been made, but I am afraid to say that the two clubs are in negotiations.}

Believable9 Unbelievable7

No they aren't. This rumour began on the Bluemoon forum late last night, trickled onto Twitter and MCFC even said themselves BEFORE Sky Sports got hold of it they weren't in, for Nasri, Ed. {Ed001's Note - the clubs are in talks mate, no one is entirely sure who for, hence the rumours flying round regarding Nasri and Clichy, it is conjecture at the moment.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Has a rep from man city or arsenal come out and said they are in negotiation ? the sun newspaper is bathroom reading, not a starting point for transfer discussions on here. {Ed001's Note - I don't read that rag, no idea what they have said, but City and Arsenal have held talks and that was the reason for all the rumours flying about. People just guess as to what the talks were about, for all anyone knows it could have just been about that Next Gen tournament!}

Agree0 Disagree0

The talks are for Clichy. It's pretty much tied up already. A City Spokesperson confirmed this after the whole thing on SSN - But reiterated the non-story of Nasri.

Won't go into how I know because quite frankly it won't be believed on here either way (which I don't blame people for lol)

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri will go down hill at city just like adebayor.

An account on twitter (apparently Gael Clichy) has just posted this:

Signing for Manchester City. Everyone involved in Arsenal Football Club, thank you, your support was greatly appreciated and will be missed.

Now quite honestly I think that this is : UTTER BOLLOCKS

I am not saying that he has not signed, but it is soooo unprofessional to do that, what do you think Ed?

Brink on Gervinho and Cahill and role on th international transfer window {Ed001's Note - I can't see any real professional doing that, it has to be a fake account or a hacker.}

Believable3 Unbelievable6

It's been confirmed as fake by Yanni, the guy who does the AFC players cars.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clichy wil go down hill even more then he has, he sucks and city or any1 can have him

Agree0 Disagree0

Gael Clichy hasn't tweeted on his actual twitter account since Jan '10 so thats got to be a fake account. Think he is defo on his way though.

Jagielka supposedly going to arrive at The Emirates this summer
SOURCE: The Telegraph What do you think Ed? {Ed001's Note - very possible Wenger has wanted him for years.}

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Years? not wanted him that much - i think he said once that he is a good player. all of a sudden, we have wanted him for years? plz. {Ed001's Note - yes years, Arsenal bid for him last summer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No way will Jagielka go to Arsenal, a Club in decline. If he moves anywhere it will be to one of the Manchester teams or Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2011 20:09:00
Manchester City are confident that the Arsenal left-back Ga l Clichy will become their first signing of the summer, but they have distanced themselves from reports that they are also trying to persuade Arsenal into a £20m deal for Samir Nasri

(from the guardian)

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Manchester City interest was just an attempt to get more money from United

lille have just also signed pedretti, does this mean hazard might be on the move

Believable11 Unbelievable7

No this is wenger dont be silly he wont spend all that money

Agree0 Disagree0

Would imagine that Pedretti is a replacement for Cabaye (Newcastle) rather than Hazard.

Agree0 Disagree0

No. Pedretti is a straight replacement for Yoann Cabaye who has just joined Newcastle.

A midfield enforcer rather than an attacking winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pedretti is a DM and hazard is a lw so why wud it mean hazard is leaving pedretti isnt hazard replacement

i dont see these current rumours as so awful. first of all cesc. if we get 35 mil, which i assume we will or at least there abouts, isnt a huge sum, but its a good amount to add to the tranfer kitty. he clearly wants to go, and it seems more apparent this season than any other. we should let him go. ramsey and wilshere both seem desperate to step up to the plate, and with a solid older cm to help out with experience, someone in the enforcer role we've been lacking would be great.

as for clichy, he was prone to an error or 2 last season and is hardly irreplaceable. i think it's time gibbs, plus perhaps enrique for the 6/7 mil we'd get for clichy, would be a nice replacement. so no problems so far.

nasri. he wants more money. fair enough, he's had a good season and could be a v good replacement for the barca bound cesc. i hardly think that with such high ticket prices and our low spending in recent years plus cesc leaving (lower wage bill) that this should be too hard. so im not too worried by the rumours. it could be his agent trying to stir things up to get a better deal. not unheard of. and if he did go, 20 mil thank you very much. last yr of his contract - not too bad. thats a nice transfer kitty that could really sort the team from the defence upwards. might even get a player on exchange thrown in. adam johnson, bit arrogant, but would be v good. not afraid to shoot etc.

optimistic gooner

Believable13 Unbelievable7

If we get
35 mil for cesc
20 mil for nasri
7 mil for clichy
25 mil for the crap
13 mil war chest( ONLY)
can any 1 see arsenal spending 100 mil on new players?
This is what its going to say when we sign a player
UNDISCLOSED FEE
WERE A JOKE
GET REAL

Agree0 Disagree0

Could'nt agree more, if cesc don't wanna be there, take the money and get a midfielder who wants to play for us.We had the same problem with Patrick Vieira a few years ago, he should have gone two years earlier, and to this day we never replaced him with a creative/defensive midfielder.I think AW misses the backing of David Dein, we were buying top quality players in those good old days.I know we are in a new stadium and times are hard, but if you don't buy in quality, you don't win a lot.So what I say is sell Fabregas, nasri and clichy and bring in some quality players who want to play for us.IN ARSENE WE TRUST.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perfect post mate, promote gibbs and bring in a consistant LB for cover. Pay Nasri what he wants and sell cesc for £35m we are sick of it now. Play nasri thru the centre and let wiltshire and ramsey boss the mf. give TV5 the armband and just by a poacher for crying out loud cb no brainer someone needs to arrive if they dont he may as well sack himself

Let's be honest guys, our 3 best players are nasri, rvp and fabregas
We lose 2 of them .. Players are going to look at us twice before they sign What's people like rvp and verminator going to be thinking?
Only upside to this is if united and city are interested in nasri it could push him price up a little

Believable13 Unbelievable0

RVP is loyal he wont leave

Agree0 Disagree0

What about that young lad wilshere he's got to be considered 1 of your best players as for any player being loyal if there not supporters of the club then there is no loyalty and even then if there is bigger better clubs to go to then there off look at rooney with everton but you get players like gerrard who had is head turned by chelsea and stayed then there's giggs scholes neville who would never of asked to leave united i think if a club came in for van persie and the deal was good enough for him he'd be off

Agree0 Disagree0

Shut up m8 fabs is not the world beater yout hink he is or barca would pay £50m for him. Nasri and RVP are our links and wiltshire is who we should build our team around he wont leave as you can see he will see the end of AW and prob 2 more mangers in his time he will reture and arsenal man and captain of england he is our paul ince not fabs

Believable8 Unbelievable4

30 Jun 2011 19:01:22
Didn't Wenger insist Nasri wouldn't be sold to Man Utd. So why would he sell him to Man City?

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Because all the players we have sold to City do not perform like they did for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Money obviously

Agree0 Disagree0

Because wenger knows he will get more money and that nasri will go down hill at city like adebayor, veira

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Mata could potentially be one of the best signings ever made if we get him we need someone who will be direct, assist and get on the score sheet Like 5th in La Liga for assists behind only Barca and Madrid players Could be what we need. Cahill and Mata are musts

Hi ed, just heard on sky news man city av offered 20mill 4 nasri wth wages of 180,000 a week cheers

{Ed022's Note - It is appears thats the latest from SSN. It would double his eye watering £90k a week wages... What would you do?}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Sign for Man City....money talks

I'd be embarrassed if I accepted the money Man City are offering because although he can claim all he wants the move was to progress his career to try and save face but everyone would know he is a money grabbing greedy little s**t.

think of it as a positive guys.. if we dont come in the top 4 anymore and generally fail miserably and become condemned to mid table obscurity at least we'll be able to get to matches on a saturday at 3pm just like in the old days and the crowd (of about 22,000) will welcome wenger and the board with shouts of 'hurrah and huzzah'...(thats my rik mayall impersonation career over) ... i think overall, we should have never have left highbury (redevelopement would have been a better option) because all thats happened since the move is basically downwards... the board have got greedier, even selling out for profit, the team has got worse and now the top players we have left are jumping ship..i dont believe for one minute that players move on for trophies these days... its all about the pocket (connor wickam to sunderland is a prime example... there or liverpool? trophies or money?) all agents should be shot at dawn and players should try their best (for whatever club they sign for) i see Arsenal now as a club that the top pro's wont entertain purely on the basis of greed.. the English players are too expensive and frankly crap.. bar 1 or 2... the cheap imports at AFC are going to cost us dearly in the long run..poor results... higher prices (everything from tickets and food in the ground) will bring less and less people to the matches and eventually the 36,000 highbury limit will not even be reached..sad to say but im afraid unless theres a change of spending policy, ie silent stan chucking a few bob wengers way, the only silverware we'll see as fans is the candlesticks granny leaves us in her will

The Night Doctor

Believable12 Unbelievable7

What tosh this is, Redeveloping Highbury wasn't an option and moving to the Emirates was the best thing we ever did and will prove so in the coming years

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 100 percent as i have said in previous posts when we moved to the new stadium we were promised we would be able to compete with big clubs we have been lied to by the board.we fill the emirates week in week out and last year we had a profit of over 50million after everything had been paid..
i am waiting to see what happens in the transfer market before the start of the season i dont live in england any more but spend thousands each year on sky, setanta, espn, airline tickets match day tickets, every birthday and xmas its an arsenal shirt or dvd etc.and im just 1 fan.
NO MORE
any club with money flashes there cash and we crumble.
where is are 2 major shareholders who are worth billions to rescue us from this terrible situation which were in

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks mr gazidis... im sure you'll be pleased with the profits of the board ... of course the old stadium could have been developed... and i dont mean the housing .... just watch the spuds do it at WHL.. okay they'll have been forced into it but it'll show what could have been done.. also watch liverpool if they fail with the new ground...

The Night Doctor

Agree0 Disagree0

We are becoming a selling club..it makes me really sad..i live in ireland and have supported arsenal since i was 4...im 29 now..i spend a fortune on arsenal because i love the club so much, , now were selling our best players and not allways to forign clubs but to clubs that are our rivals...i feel a mix of anger and sadness now..what is goin to become of our reputation now as a team...oh the play nice football and are willing to sell there best players......

before we buy we need to clear the team
so ed is anyone intrested in rosicky

{Ed022's Note - Unfortunately no-one has come forward to take him off our hands and out of the treatment room...}

Believable11 Unbelievable0

I dunno if you've been watching the news but we're doing a good job of clearing our team already. when we lose fabregas, nasri and clichy, what incentive is there for Van persie, vermaelen, wilshere, ramsey and sagna to stay?

{Ed022's Note - Before this all kicked off this summer was touted as a "massive summer" with regards to transfers. I didn't expect most of the massive signings to be going the other way!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I will buy rosicky to clean my bog

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems you are all a little over-excited by all this talk. That is what it is, talk. Lets see what happens first.

As regards to Rosicky - wash your mouths out, he actually stayed injury free last year - he needs to re-learn how to shoot but is it that bad to have someone of his experience around the club as 2nd/3rd choice. Most clubs would give their right arm for that sort of depth who are content and loyal enough to play second fiddle.

{Ed022's Note - How many times??!?!?! Miyiachi isn't being granted a work permit!!!}

Believable13 Unbelievable10

I would rather have neither in the first team, neither are nearly good enough. then again with arsenals level of ambition we may as well play chamberlain and as soon as miyachi gets a work permit chuck him in the first team as well

I hope AW has some transfer ace's up his sleeve if the nasri deal goes through, perhaps we might get Richards + 20m, as we do need another good central defender.

{Ed022's Note - They've apparently bid £20m. Richards in the current market is worth £10m. Nasri is not worth £30m in the last year of his contract...}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

30 Jun 2011 18:05:56
LET THE BUGGERS GO If Nasri and Clichy can make more money elsewhere then they should if someone offered me twice as much cash to do my job i certainly would regardless of loyalty and so would you. Its now all about getting the best deals for ARSENAL, we will be here long after the autumn wonder is forgotten and Clichy is good but not irreplaceable. Sell Clichy for +7M, If thats to Manc City fair enough. If some pays in excess of 20M for Nasri then again cheers for the 3 months good work now do one. Personally if City is his destination then get Johnston and Kompany in the deal. If not sell abroard to the highest bidder.

Paul

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Paul mate thats the best description ive heard of our club too right, get rid of them and get most money, too many of them havent worked out that it was themselves who choked at end of season, nasri, 2 and a half good months, fabregas had a good season 2 years ago, gunners for life not just a summery month

Can you guys read wheres the quote from the player or agent
Iam "interested in sleeping with kelly brook"
Not gonna happen though is it
just another story from the media with nothing better to write about {Ed022's Note - I agree wholeheartedly with your statement. Unfortunately its the part about sleeping with Kelly Brook.}

Ed, is it true that Clichy is joining Man City, or is it just Sky Sports talking s**t. Also i don't think there is any chance at all of Nasri leaving for another English club (i think he will stay), but what do you think?

JH.

{Ed022's Note - You do realise that "Sky sources" could be bloody anyone! They have got things wrong before. However, I think there's something in this one with Clichy. Apparently he's very close to signing. Im not convinced by Nasri. I think and hope he will stay.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

I am a journalist and am more than aware that SSN make mistakes but they have gone pretty strong on this, i dont think they would go this heavy on a story without solid evidence.
However im watching SSN now and they say Clichy is close to joining whilst there is an interest in Nasri, of course theres an interest hes a good player, my Sunday League side are interested in Nasri ill assume but no one is getting worked up about that

30 Jun 2011 17:54:21
Dear clowns of the Arsenal board, you have everything to hand to stop this supposed exodus from the Emirates. You can't tell me there is no money to up Clichy's and Nasri's wages each week when your net spend on players, coupled with the highest ticket prices in the premiership must rake in a small fortune on a weekly basis. Everyone around us is spending, and when I say around us I really mean those teams vying for the fourth champions league place. The current board obviously have no ambitions to change things, so imdon't blame our top players wanting to join teams that show ambition. For one season spend some money to improve the areas we obviously need players defence, defence, defence

{Ed022's Note - This is become the frustrated view of a lot of fans..}

Believable19 Unbelievable0

30 Jun 2011 17:53:49

its going to be a sad evening or fortnight
we will lose clichy today

{Ed022's Note - We have once again signed a player and given them a platform to showcase his talents when no-one else was interested. He should be showing more loyalty. Disappointed!}

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Why so sad about losing clichy? He has been really bad this season, especially in the important matches. He makes to many mistakes and has on more than one occasion cost a goal. But i agree if no one else is brought in, then it sucks. On the other hand, If someone is brought in, then it is a win win

{Ed022's Note - Not so much Clichy, more a general statement. Aimed more at Nasri than Clichy. Wouldn't mind Clichy going but again, we need to sign someone. We cant rely on Gibbs..yet! Oh and I am not a fan of moving TV5 to left back. Just my opinion!}

Agree0 Disagree0

The club will be better off without Clichy, he is a liability and there is no point playing him at wing back when he CANNOT cross the ball or shoot. I'd imagine his stats in the final third are laughable. He is a hindrance to our play rather than a help. Always found wanting at the back which then means that the centre back has to come across to deal with the threat from the wing, leaving plenty of room in the box for the opposition to score. It has happened too many times now and is downright embarassing, this embarassment is only exceeded by Wenger's failure to notic it and ask Clichy not to venture beyond the half way line. I think we should sign Leighton Baines whatever the cost. {Ed022's Note - Agreed!}

Clichy = sucks

the only way we can avoid players like nasri and fabregas betraying us is if we have players that are arsenal fans

Believable11 Unbelievable4

They are not betraying us they are going to teams who are going to compete for things. We have become a selling club and a joke

Your board has betrayed you, not these players. For years now you are dropping well off the pace as your board expect silverware on a shoe string budget.

how about trying to get richards/de jong/(no hope with his wages but would love) yaya toure as part of the deal with city? if i remember there were rumours that city wanted dani alves... richards is by far most likely of the 3 but the others are just because i think they would do well for us. also on the subject of cesc's seemingly imminent departure, i think that it would be a good move for the club to sell him ONLY AT THE RIGHT PRICE who are barcelona that they can pay less than market value for a player especially one of cesc's calibre? he is our captain for god's sake... imo the right price £50million plus add ons of up to £10 million over the next 2 years... in an ideal world to replace cesc we would revert to a sort of 4 4 1 1 formation and sign vertonghen mata a new lb and falcao.... imagine a midfield of LM Mata CM Jack CM song RM Nasri (who i believe will stay)and RVP linking the midfield to attack with falcao to put away all those chances we consistently miss.13 year old Gooner

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Arsenal release Nasri to MCFC on the condition City drop all interest for Juan Mata..

No chance of swapping Nasri for the players you mention..

{Ed022's Note - That may keep City quiet. Who we selling to Liverpool to keep them out of the fight for Mata. Also, what makes you think he will sign for us even if we were the only club? Gazidis would probably cock it up in negotiations anyways...}

where did it all go wrong nasri to man city cesc to barcelona why cant we keep are best players why do all these players want to leave IS IT MONEY have they no loyalty.
HOW many players over the years have we sold for big money and ended up regretting there moves.
TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN FOR THESE TRAITORS AND I HOPE THEY FAIL.
TRUST ME THIS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
1-NASRI will get a big contract at a club and will relax and do nothing
2-cesc will get his dream move and will sit on the bench hes to injury prone
LOYALTY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN ANY WALK OF LIFE AND THESE TO HAVE NONE I DONT WANT PLAYERS LIKE THIS AT ARSENAL

Believable20 Unbelievable3

They are not traitors. would you move to do the same job for double the money? The clubs buying them are looking to win things i love arsenal but we are a sinking ship mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, Cesc is loyal to Barca

Agree0 Disagree0

Not everything is money, and stop with bs talks

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect the Arsenal captain to show loyalty to his club. He has not, he will not. It is his job to lead and provide an example.

This proud club deserves a great deal better. Refuse to sell, and explain to Mr Fabregas that he will spend his remaining contract as a reserve.

The results of the recent past are his responsibility too. Walk away, but never forget you let us down.

Disgusting, Revolting, Horrifying. So many words can be used to describe what's happened with Nasri. It's just hit me that we are a selling club. We sold Nasri, we're selling Fabregas, we sold Hleb, Flamini went, Henry left....it goes on. Nasri wanted to see what players we were going to sign, obviously not satisfied by what he found out and so he pushed them to let him leave. The board is a shambles, if he wants more money give it to him, if he wants a big name signing give it to him, we can not be seen as a vulnerable club. Would Utd sell us Rooney? Of course they wouldn't. And we all know we won't replace him, it'll be some un-known french 13 year old who we don't want. What a joke. Mid table next season.

If you don't know what i'm on about turn SSN on, City have had 20 million accepted for Nasri and Utd are interested as well.

In summary:

Out:
Nasri
Fabregas
clichy
RVP
Sagna
Walcott

im sorry but all this hype about fabregas leaving is just wrong and with the photo shoot business so what he wasn't in it but neither were half the team like rvp etc. We never really know whats going to happen however im sure fabregas did come out saying in a interview in madrid that he was happy where he is and that he wants to captain arsenal and win a trophy with them. He said this last week and all this hype about him coming is from the Spanish press that have said in the last 2 years that hes definitely moving in that year, so lets see what happens. He also said a couple of weeks ago to forget about the rumours so dont give up on him and expect him to go because you're believing the spanish press. In fabregas and Wenger we trust, also cahill, alvarez look imminent. No gk and a big signing hazard or mata maybe benzema if madrid sign another forward. Hopefully denilson and bendtner will leave, probs clichy as well x

{Ed022's Note - Cesc Fabregas will leave Arsenal before July 15th...}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Hey guys, as sad as I am to hear all the rumours that we may lose first class players such as Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy we shouldn't be to worried about rumours and publicity hungry tabloids and news sources. Many times it's the players' agent who spread these rumours so they can pressurise the clubs to give a higher salary to the player and an extra one-time fee to the agent. The agents are many times the root of all of this evil. For instance, as per my sources Wayne Roony never wanted to leave Manutd, but his agent started to spread this rumour andat the end of the day the agent received an additional one time payment of about 2mln USD. So to conclude, maybe Fabregas will leave, Nasri will stay and Clichy will also stay. Long live Arsenal and we'll have an amazing team next year and we will be rocking and win the league.

Gervinho will sign within the next week along with hopefully Alvarez too.
Mata is not 100% keen on playing for arsenal and is happy at Valencia I have heard.

Ed:... anything on Samba, has gone a bit quiet? {Ed022's Note - Personally I don't think Samba is AWs first choice. I think he prefers Cahill/Jagielka type defenders. I think Wenger wants Cahill signed first before turning his attentions to the second defender he wants}

Believable8 Unbelievable2

If Wenger isn't keen on Samba, as you say then why did he try to sign him in January? {Ed022's Note - Because other players like Cahill, Jags and others weren't available perhaps?}

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO Samba was always the fall-back if Cahill couldn't be secured. If we get Cahill expect Verthongen to be the next target. I hope someone will give us £7M for Clichy as the guy may be a great athlete but he is vulnerable to the ball played over him as he tucks in too far and at the other end his crossing is lamentable

to the guy that made this gr8 analysis and realistic team
---------------------------------------.....................scezsney
....sagna......cahill....TV........gibbs
..................ramsey/frimpong
........gervinho.....wilshere......nasri
.................walcott
..............................RVP

analysis of this team
sagna is the best right back in the league
cahill would most probably be bought i have got doubts probaly be bought for 17.5m with one player going the other way

TV im sure he will preform and he will most probably be a bit more attacking

gibbs would most probably make the step up to the first team
as will ramsey
he would be a holding midfielder or frimpong playing a defensive mid who in my mind is fab unfortunately he got injured if not he would have been playing alongside wilshere in every match FACT

gervinho would be a winger and would be great getting in alls to RVP he got more assists than hazard and more goals.

wilshere we all know is great and frimpong and him won the youth cup and are known friends

nasri if he stays would be a big asset as we saw in the first half of the season

walcott on numerous occasions has said he wants to play up front i beleive he would be great

if RVP is injury free we will have the premier leagues top scorer

if unfortunately he is injured gervinho would go upfront with Walcott and lansbury might play or another young gun

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Sadly you are only allowed 11 men in a football team

Nasri is not leaving He is on the front cover of the magazine. Also, he was in the away kit photo shoot. If U don't believe me, go to the arsenal website.

Believable17 Unbelievable3

OMG how stooopid is this thing that if they weren't photo'd in the new away strip they are leaving if they aint in the team photo for 11/12 then you know. Clichy is so desparate to leave so publically put him on the market and move on sell him to europe let him have no choice where he goes. Nasri will stay but we gotta shift him Lady Nina sed it perfectly he wants to leave so let him we wont get £50m for him and if his form dips this season we wont get £20m for him in Jan. AW has passed his sell by date time to go bring in Mark Hughes or someone, someone who understands how to build teams and change tactics to play different clubs. Plus he wouldn't dither on decisions he is a broad is the day is long. so what if he's ex manu he cut that tie when he joined city.

According to 'Caught offside' Arsenal are set to lose £62million trio to Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City. Barcelona stepping up there Fabregas bid and maybe bidding for Samir Nasri. Otherwise Manchester United want Nasri and City want Gael Clichy. In my opinion Arsene Wenger will not sell someone as big as Nasri to Man.U Whereas for Clichy all rumours have been linked to Liverpool and Roma.

Another rumour ive heard is Bentdner has been bidded £12million from Man U I hope its true, make United bit more worse. :P

I think if will get rid of Fabregas and Nasri, Arsenal really need to splash the cash if they want to stay in European football.

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Caught offside is one of the worst gossip sites, i wouldn't believe much on there, Nasri will not go to Utd or any other English side

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest, if Fabregas goes, i say, Thank You, and well done, If Nasri goes, Especially to Man Utd, he ll get the same treatment as adebay, but i still see Nasri signing a new contract, if clichy goes, so be it, Arsenal are bigger than all 3, and ALL will be easily replaced, Fab is a good player but hes not a great player, last season we done without him most of the season, Nasri, i think its hes greedy agent, more, but if he goes, then he shows no loyalty to Wenger, and we d be better off without him, Clichy, hes good at going forward, but defending, i dont rate him.So who would replace them, id get Baines, Gourcouff, mata, Alaresz, cahill, Make Verm as Captain, Bring in Viera as coach, to help song and diaby, T Adams as Assistant Manager.Anyway Fabregas, Thank You for your Service To The Red And White, We will cheer you when we face you in the Chamions league final, when you will lose

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a waste of all our lives, if we've learned anything about newspapers and websites like that its that they don't have a clue whats happening. The only question i have for you Ed is: How on earth are Barca even still allowed to bid for players (If rumours are true then they're bidding a combined £70Mil + for fabregas and sanchez at the moment, arn't they supposed to be like 300Mil in debt? Personally i think fab and nasri will stay at least one more year on the condition arsenal will spend some money on that creeky barn door we call our defence. Not bothered about clichey really, i think he's a bit overated.

Who I don't even know . . . . .

Independant online have broken a story saying that clichy is close to agreeing terms with city for a 7 million pound move Ed....if clichy does go do you think wenger is likely to buy a new Lb or play vermaelen there? {Ed001's Note - what about Gibbs, Traore or one of the other youngsters that can play there?}

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Not sure we would sell Clichy to City, this could be one of his agents. 7 million not enough to a team like city

Agree0 Disagree0

No point in chopping and changing if we have that kind of cash available that we have been told we have and also the cash form player sales will help aswell, moving Verminator there would be MENTAL He has previously played there yes, but with the likes of Baines (Available at the right price) and Jose Enrique (available ot the right price) it would be stupid not to go for either, plus Gibbs legs are more brittle that VPs, so i would not be confident going into a season with him and Traore as our main LBs

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbs is muck. Long way off where he needs to be to get into the first team. He should be loaned out.

Baines should be bought. Easily do a swap deal with Everton. Give them Bender, denilson and squallaci

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbs is too injury prone, Traore is simply not good enough. I think Vermaelen would give Arsenal more defensive solidarity at LB. Clichy was responsible for a lot of our leaked goals over the last 2-3 seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbs is not ready to play lots of games as he is injury prone, we need a quality replacement, we must not use TV there.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we keep relying on youngsters, we may as well settle for winning nothing for quite a few years yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't mean any offence Ed but that is the attitude that costs us all the time

Gibbs is still not ready..yet
Traore is a simply not good enough
Other youngsters aren't ready either.

Personally I'd sign Sakho :) play him in the middle, shift Vermaelen to LB then loan Gibbs to Bolton as part of Cahill transfer.

Meaning Sakho or Vermalen could play LB when needed. {Ed001's Note - I never said it didn't, I was merely pointing out my belief as to Wenger's intentions.}

Agree0 Disagree0

None of the youngsters are up to it yet, not the relentless weekin weekout games, the odd appearance maybe. If Wenger does not buy quality and experience for the back line we won't even be in the top 4 next season

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this will happen. Clichy has proved he is not strong enough defensively. If Arsenal are interested in both Cahill and Samba, get them and Squillaci leaves, Arsenal would have 5 centre backs. This could suggest that Vermaelen would be freed-up allowing him to alternative with Gibbs for the LB position and play CB and possibly even DM when required.
