ed has said not to hold our breath over interest in icardi.

he reckons we will look at cavani but does not see the monetary terms being favourable to arsenal.

so it looks like we will buy no one or do a loan deal at best.

Eds,
Lots of changes since your big AFC transfer update and little time to go..
Is it possible to tell us what you know and what you think could possibly happen between now and when the window shuts.
Sorry for the question as I know it annoys you but we love the glimmers of hope!
Thanks for the great site and insight

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal's priority remains a striker and they may make an effort for Cavani - but as I have explained, they will likely be concerned about the price given the age of the player. Also, the player may have reservations knowing that Benzema was clearly first choice, and Higuain probably first option to that.

Carvalho was a prime target and got injured - I explained the club would need to decide to wait or not - and I suspect they will.

I understand that the manager has said he has interest in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez but I know nothing of it, and he doesn't strike me as a walk in for the first team. Whilst an approach has been made to the agent of Yarmolenko, he seems to have spent the summer screwing everyone around and there is now considerable pressure from Dynamo Kyiv for him to stay where he is and sign a new deal. I don't know if anything can be done or if Arsenal will push harder.

Other clear targets (e.g. Fekir) were not available and the club will not sign players just for the sake of it.}

Thanks Ed. Respect.

{Ed002's Note - I expect a lot of business to be done by English sides still - Manchester City has already got there business done with de Bruyne. And that might force Bayern to look again at the market - they wanted him for next summer. There will still be a few random players changing hands to plug a few holes in squads as well. I think Valencia may be done now. Zenit certainly aren't and the leading Italian sides are still working on a number of transfers. There will be some movement in Spain today as well. So edge of the seat stuff for another 33 and one half hours for you.}

Eds so you see gotze leaving? Big rumours he's been told he can leave if a bid comes in.

Coman to Bayern is a strange one. Good player for his age though but didn't see that coming

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich offered Goetze as part of a deal for Gundogan but nothing came of it. They have spoken to his agent about a couple of issues with his constant bitching and whining. An enquiry from Juventus led to them being told that they would have to agree to pay at least his €37M realease clause before there could be any discussions.}

Hello Eds. As the transfer window for all top European leagues except English closes today, would it be safe to assume that the deals involving other leagues would have to be completed today and tomorrow it would be just between the English clubs?
Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - No.}
