I dont mean to be cynical or anything but isn't the M'vila situation look a bit of a fore gone conclusion,

m'vila who will cost a fortune and may rise after the euros, yet not really proven in a top league.

or de jong, will be cheap if not free, good player and not demanding first team football. tough and has a bit of grit the the arsenal team need.

wenger known for being a tad tight with purse strings to say the least. so which seems the most likely to join?

we seen last season wenger now wants players who have proven themselves or are english.

this looks to be the case this year with podolski, and now being strongly linked with powell.

anyways ed please place this in the rumours section for everyone to see, and let me know who you personally believe will sign this summer? {Ed027's Note - Afellay dont know why, and a solid cdm is needed and im 50/50 about this, GK if Fabianski leaves, and depending on what happens with Vela, Park, Bendthner, Chamakh, we wil sign a st

Believable25 Unbelievable4

I would like de jong at arsenal and jagielka to

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure that any transfer is a 'fore gone conclusion'- especially how, generally speaking, arsenal are with their transfer dealings.

it could be that everything is more or less in place, but some of the details of either payment to the club or the personal contract aren't quite complete or agreed upon.

Besides, isn't m'vila out of the euro's now?

I really doubt we will see anything in terms of firm transfers until after euros now... enjoy the euros and wait until july is what I'm doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't be signing more than half the players we're linked to and besides most are hyped up more than their worth so i'll put my trust in arsene and as long as rvp doesnt leave i think we'll win at least one title next season

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no real argument about him never playing in top league, everyone has to come from somehwere and if Ligue 1 isn't a 'top league' then neither is the Bundesliga (look at Ozil), so only Serie A, La Liga and Prem are top leagues an if he moves there it's opportunity missed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Javier Hernandes was playing in a big league when he signed for United, same for C Ronaldo, no? Come on, be serious. You want me to carry on? Papis Cisse? Cabaye? Sigursson? Anything else? Big leagues, huh?

Can't see Yann M'Vila joining now.....shame.

Gazidis will announce our buy them young, develop and sell them transfer policy on Wednesday. RVP and Walcott both to leave in the summer, £25 mill and £17.5 mill respectively.

Dannyboy

Believable24 Unbelievable35

Why post utter bs when you have don't have the slightest clue

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as I think that may pee off some Gooners unsure if this would be a cataclysm. Especially if we sell and replace early (with suitable quality) and even more so if we sell to a non PL team. Think that we will honestly have to wait until after our current commercial deals expire to have the same clout as the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and Citeh. Still need some high quality additions to simply stay in the Champions League.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he need to announce this when we ALREADY know this. Last summer proved it. Him announcing his resignation would be ideal.

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

M 'villa is 21.

Agree0 Disagree0

Which club are going to pay 17.5m for Walcott?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy them young? I don't know if you'd bothered to check arsenal the last summer window. Santos, Mert, Park, Arteta, Benayoun and Podlski are hardly what I would call young.

Fool, why even waste your time

CT

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point ct but look at the players we sold. Bought young and sold for profit. Just a shame they were our BEST players. And as for who we signed (in that last day panic) apart from arteta there was NO quality bought in

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

If LLorente rumors are true, it means one and only one thing, Robin wants out and that's y Wenger is steppin up on LLorente, Y Wld Wenger hav Poldi , RVP and LLorente up front ? its too ideal !

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe wenger is finally given the go ahead by the board to get a title under any circumstances..given the sponsorship deals loom

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2012 18:29:41
will arsenal move for llorente? do you think we could get m'villa/marvin martin or gourcuff?

Believable18 Unbelievable29

I think that Llorente will only be a target if Van Persie leaves, in terms of signing a CDM, we have Coquelin who will be exceptional. We seriously need an attacking playmaker like Gotze or Marvin Martin, also a new experienced LB to challenge Gibbs because lets face it, Santos cant defend lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gourcuff is terrible and im not really impressed with Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Get m'vila. people need to stop wanting us to buy martin as martin and gourcuff are both overrated and we need a strong midfielder not attacking ones. we have arteta and wilshere and song can push forward if we buy m'vila

Agree0 Disagree0

M'Vila is overrated as well.

Giroud, Afellay, Podoski will be our only big/known signings, expect Y Mbiwa n R Green and a few lesser known players... these are the people who arsenal have recetly stepped up interest in and the rest are rumours... credible source within the camp that is all

Ben X

Believable14 Unbelievable23

Hi, I'm not sure you know, but there is already someone on this site using the sign off Ben X. (Me). You could maybe use Ben _ First letter of your second name or something. Hope I didn't cause offence.

The real Ben X. {Ed022's Note - If you deem it as an issue us Eds can set up an identification for you that only we can see, and then delete any posers.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? Ben Fairthorne says he is an AFC player, no ifs, buts or maybes. Most likely a deal announced after the Euros. Ben X, you seem to just re-iterate all of the players we're linked with over the past week, and then pretend as if we'll sign them.

Row Z

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't really want to cause a fuss, but yeah, if you wouldn't mind Eds that would be brill. I'm just not quite sure in which way the poster used it. I had the same issue when I first started posting on this site, Ben and I had a little miss understanding lol.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Row Z, no, I have credible sources I use and I publish info too you guys, if my sources choose to make the information they receive public or not is their choice. I simply write what I know.

There are very few people that know exactly what happens behind closed doors, a lot of it is joining the dots. It's only your choice to believe what I write, I know what I know, it's not wrong of me for wanting to share it with others.

with vertonghen about to seal a move to spurs, who is wenger looking at to improve our back 4?

Believable6 Unbelievable17

One of our scouts was quoted saying we where looking at Mamadou Sakho, but we won't be buying another centre back until one of ours moves out. Bear in mind though, that if Squilaci or Djourou leftwe wouldn't be looking for a top notch player, someone that will accept playing only when other players are injured or tiring. So the likes of M'biwa, Sakho, Vertonghen would not be signed unless either TV5 Kos or Merts left.

Arsenal in talks with FC Dallas wonder kid Brek Shea. Shea has declared he would love to join Arsenal.
His Agent revealed that Arsenal have bidded an estimated 5 million on a 4 year contract.

Believable20 Unbelievable29

Shea isn't exactly a kid at 22 years of age.

As an American, I'm a fan of Shea, but he's not good enough for Arsenal. He's not even good enough for the US National team at present, and was not called into their squad for the current batch of friendlies due to poor form.

He even had a training stint/trial w Arsenal this past winter, and it was my understanding that he didn't exactly impress.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get where people come up with precise figures of 5 million on a four year deal etc, arsenal rarely state how long state the timescale of contracts offered

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga gooner, give it a rest mate

Agree0 Disagree0

If Arsenal are looking for answers within the US camp, Brek Shea ain't it.....he's not even in the US camp

Only 2 US players good enough for Arsenal are Dempsey and Tim Howard, and even with Dempsey that's a stretch

US Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen him play, and he ain't no wonderkid... Very poor player

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder kid? Stop right there.

Brek has impressed in the past but doesn't seem to have developed as everyone had hoped. Not gunners quality at the moment

West ham's co-owner David Gold confirms, Robert green will be leaving west ham for what he describes a "new challenge" A possible option as a back up to Shezza, will certainly be a new challenge for him personally

Believable22 Unbelievable20

We shud defiantly go for him hes on a free transfer

Agree0 Disagree0

Please God no.. much rather keep fabianski or Almunia.. still made mistakes for west ham at least almunia was once good despite a couple of mistakes was fab that made the majority..
Martinez for promotion ross turnbull/ schwarzer (twilight careers Backup?)

Agree0 Disagree0

We should get Gordon, not green, turnbull or Schwarzer

Agree0 Disagree0

Rob green would be perfect signing, hope your correct becoz soo much crap touted bout us,he,d be number 1 by xmas coz shezney is championship keeper at best

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you expecting for second choice gk? I'd definately take green as backup. Decent enough shotstopper and not bad on crosses either, he's also homegrown

andriy yarmolenko, mapou yanga-mbiwa, nick powell, seydou doumbia, olivier giround, stefan radu, joel pohjanpalo, ibrahim affelay, isaac cuenca, yoann gourcuff and marvin martin are believed to be transfer targets for arsene wenger. hope we get giround, affelay, martin and yanga-mbiwa.
CHIPS N GRAVY

Believable32 Unbelievable17

Wasn't yanga mbiwa part of France's preliminary squad before being excluded? Koscielny made it and looks like he is one of the first names on the team sheet as first choice CB, so no point in signing someone who isn't better than what we already have considering we already have the likes of djourou and squid boy

Agree0 Disagree0

He is also very verstaile can play flet n right back and young so he wud b good let quid n djourou go

Agree0 Disagree0

Dempsey is a beast

Agree0 Disagree0

For one, why are you talking about Dempsey if he'snot on here? And two, I found M'biwa on fifa before anyone was linked with him, so I personally think arsenal should get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't imagine either giroud or doumbia coming in without being our RvP replacement.

Personally I think Theo should finally make the transition to striker, isn't progressing as well as hoped on the wing

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2012 12:45:01
Chelsea's interest in Theo Walcott is very real. Swap deal involving Sturridge may be a possibility

Believable19 Unbelievable38

I think we will be keeping theo, much better than sturridge and i think theo will be a much better player this new season overall

Agree0 Disagree0

I Think Wenger Could Make Him A Star But On The Right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not gna happen unless they give m sturriage + kalou

Agree0 Disagree0

I would prefer Walcott to Sturridge any day, don't let Walcott leave and don't sign Sturridge!

Arsenal are set to sign Joel Pohjanpalo on a three year contract. It is believed to be in the region of 6 million. Wenger has agreed to send him back to Finnish team HJK Helsinki on a full season loan after pre-season.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

What is your source?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he good and what position is he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't believe a word of it, first of all, Wenger wouldn't buy a player for 6 million on only a three year deal, minimum contract would be 4 years. Also he wouldn't loan him out for the whole of next season as it would leave him with just 2 years to show his worth. However it seems a typical Arsene signing he spots talent when he see's it but not this time mate, good try.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is 17 year old i believe and yes hes being good so far in finnish "veikkauliiga" this season, but NO WAY at that price...

FINLAND gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

He's still unproven in finnish veikkausliiga. he has scored goals here but i don't know if he can keep it up for the whole season. but at the moment he's the biggest finnish talent, alongside jere uronen if you ask me.

Hi I have a few good EPL sources which I spoke to about targets. I don't support Arsenal (My brother does, I support your good rivals from SW6) but I received some very interesting news concerning Arsenal recently.
Firstly: Vertonghen to Spurs is all but complete but Arsenal still have a firm offer which may come into play. The tempt of CL may also be a big factor.
Secondly: M'Vila appears to have blown his Arsenal chance and Capoule looks more favourable. This could change post-Euros.
Thirdly: Hoilett is a possibility along with M'Bia, Dempsey and Suarez, but they are all second choices (Hazard was the only one I know who was in front of one of them, in front of Hoilett). A few other clubs also have interest, however.
Next: Giroud is very likely but his move depends on his price which may rise if he has a good Euros. Also unlikely to want to be benched, wants first choice striker role. Already confirmed of course is Podolski: Done deal, shrewd buy. Could easily star with the class around him.
Another striker reportedly wanted by Arsenal is Llorente, but his deal depends on RVP leaving for him to be signed. I know which one I'd rather go for.
Finally: Gotze is Almost certainly not coming to the EPL. arsenal had a derisory bid of 15 million euro and Bendtner rejected and were quoted a price 35 million euro plus. Shame really, I want to see him in the EPL, but a move to Spain (Barcalona? Replace Xavi in long term?) looks much more likely.

Take what you want from these rumours, but I have a feeling Arsenal might have another long window, with buys being late again. As for who stays and goes, depends on offers and contracts. Cheers for listening and good luck with next season; We can rule London again without the interruption of The Spuds.

Decent post. Your last statement tells a tale really. Arsenal's summers are always long and drawn out, no difference this year I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jog on to the Chel$ea page. Thank you.

It would be nice if people would resolve to only post NEW rumours and not simply regurgitate the same old stories that have been posted countless times before.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoilett has gone to gladbach.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotze and Xavi don't evenplay the same position...

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas is da one replacing Xavi, dey don need a 30M kid to come to da job wen they already hav a world class playa in Cesc !

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it's fair to blast him, I for one appreciate when someone summarises the window. Better than a lot of the tosh posted about how we're definitely going to get Hulk, or something

arsenals commercial deals with nike and emirates are ending in two years. dont arsenal see that to maximise these new upcoming deals, they need to spend relatively big now to seriously try to win trophies in the next two seasons to make us really attractive as a football club. simple logic..why can't they see this. :/

Believable26 Unbelievable13

I have a funny feeling the club and the people running the club know that, look at the financials.
What they can not do is compete with s**tty, Chelsea and Utd at present on fees and wages.
Clear the deadwood and use some of that money to pay RVP more and keep players like Theo.
Champions League is vital for sponsorship and TV - qualifying each year is good plus we need to build a worldwide band.
Look at the deal Liverpool signed on shirts all be it a transaction that is not strictly at arms length
SY4

Agree0 Disagree0

Silent stan wont spend big, infact i,d say arsenal will try to trim our wage bill on fringe players,if we buy big we,ll sell big ,the business will look healthy stan will cash in and sell to usmonov, coz whilst usmonov holds 30%,no other investors will buy,so you won,t get rich arab investors you,ll have usmonov, who lets face it is a pretty rich guy.wenger will take a back seat, arsenal will spend crazily and sponsorship deals will generate more income,i,d say this is the likely outcome of arsenal probably within a two year timespan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have a huge average attendance and have fans worldwide

whoever wants our kit and naming deal will have to really shell out, you're obtuse if you think otherwise. AFC is a big club, only people who think otherwise are spuds fans

Agree0 Disagree0

The new sponsor of the ground is being rumoured as an American firm heavily linked into the Lockheed Martin group - a hedge fund fronted by industrial companies much in the way Porsche did prior to buying options in VW. This almost certainly will trigger some speculation

Nike will continue to be kit supplier as there was an option two years ago to opt out and at the time AFC looked at Under Armour

Arenal are in talks with Blackburn Rovers over a possible 8 million bid for Hoilet

Believable18 Unbelievable34

8 million for some one that is free good business

Agree0 Disagree0

His fee'll be determined by a tribunal, right? Somewhere under 3m, I think.

Pakistan AFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoillet will be out-of-contract and available on a free.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would arsenal pay 8 million for hoillet when he is available on a free transfer? would love to know where you get your info from?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on a free mate. No say compensation would be 8 million...

Agree0 Disagree0

He is free

Agree0 Disagree0

8m for a free player? That's a lot of compensation!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we bid for him, when he is available on a free with a maximum of 4 million compensation for blackburn if he joins a UK club, when his contract expires this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoilet is on a free transfer out of contract

Agree0 Disagree0

It is true we will have to pay a tribunal nut not 8m, more in the region of 3-4m.

Does anyone know the clubs intentions towards Kyle Bartley? If as we all hope Djourou and Squillaci go, then we would have TV5, Kos, Per and BARTLEY so that would be the our central defence covered. My mate a Rangers Fan highly rates Bartley.

Believable22 Unbelievable7

I reckon Miquel is higher in the pecking order than Bartley

Agree0 Disagree0

Djourou is better then Bartley.

Agree0 Disagree0

We also have Miquel.

Agree0 Disagree0

The question was 'does anyone know the clubs intentions' and it was answered with opinion on which defender is better than the other. Smart guys. Smart.

And in Answer to the question, based on history and Wenger's position on centre Backs, there is no place at Arsenal for Bartley. Grimandi came out and said an area they were looking at, but not desperately because we have 4 - is the centre back position.

Agree0 Disagree0

He ,s crap

Agree0 Disagree0

In terms of the club's intentions, being shipped out to Rangers on loan in the first place doesn't bode well for Bartley's future at AFC. Rangers are hardly renowned for their silky skills and cerebral approach to the beautiful game and the SPL isn't exactly the ideal arena in which to hone your natural ability & flair. No, the whole thing smacks of a cash-strapped Rangers being the only club desperate enough to take him. AFC's view is probably that he's at least getting regular football. However, it's debatable as to whether being in the shop window will have done much good, as reports from North of the Border indicate he's been somewhat crap. Mind you, if Djourou & Squillaci are ahead of you in the pecking order, that much is obvious already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers season ticket holder , Bartley is awful and certainly not good enough for the Gooners , he is just a big poser who is a liability in the spl never mind the epl

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers and arsenal fan from Scotland here, bartley is no where near gunner class.. End of. As for arsenals intentions? Who knows, didn't he sign a long term deal last summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Your mate must be a celtic fan, bartley is crap!

According to the most recent reports regarding the Doumbia situation, apparently CSKA have lowered there asking to £15million plus add-ons. Seeing as Doumbia isn't part of the Euro's this could be great time for Wenger to make his move or at least table a reasonable bid for CSKA to mull over.

And with an injury to M'Vila will Wenger turn his attention to a different player maybe even putting in a bid for Axel Witsel a very good utility player who is capable of playing at left back as we saw against Chelsea or as the anchorman of the team as we saw against England. Probably worth a similar amount of money to M'Vila. Food for thought!

Believable22 Unbelievable5

Doumbia for 15 would be a steal. the man has power, pace, and can find the back of the net.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a steel if he was in his 20's like he claims to be... looks mid 30's to me!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be great, but another play who will go to the ACN?

Agree0 Disagree0

Witsel would leave us no better off than we are now. He holds the same defensive discipline as song. I like him but don't see the point of him.

Doumbia for 15mill would be almost as good a deal as the one we've got for podolski.

James

Agree0 Disagree0

We have a lot of strikers, so signing him would be good, but we would probably sell Gervinho to get him. Also, we have Podolski, Walcott and RVP so we could rotate between them, which is an added bonus.
