Is it true were in talks to sign vardy eds.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - apparently stephen..

03 Jun 2016 23:45:54
Be nice if we got him.

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Jun 2016 01:53:10
Where would arsene play him? He is a counter attack player not a front player he's not going to get Arsenal 24 goals a season being in constant contact with the ball yes he is a proven goal scorer what formation would him ozil and Sanchez work?

Agree3 Disagree1

04 Jun 2016 10:17:30
I think we will use Vardy exactly as we tried to use Theo so it won't be difficult to fit him in at alk, Vardy has all the qualities of Theo but none of the weaknesses, the more I think about it the more exciting the move becomes.

04 Jun 2016 13:15:18
I am pretty mixed about this. There will be huge expectations on him to deliver.

On the one hand he is a fighter, on the other does he have the technical ability to compliment our players?

Hello ed. It is claimed that arsenal want to get the vardy deal done within 24hours before he goes to France. Is this true please? Thank u in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think that will be difficult apex but it can still be done without him being around mate, his leeches (agents) will sort it mate..

04 Jun 2016 13:57:06
Thanks ed, i can't believe that we want him. But will a deal fot vardy finish any interest in signing morata?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not at all apex, morata is still very much on the radar and only them wanting silly money will rule it out mate..

04 Jun 2016 16:12:21
If both Vardy and Morata arrive does that spell the end for Giroud?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2016 19:02:49
BillyBob, he sure has more technical ability playing as a striker than Theo, who has none whatsoever.

04 Jun 2016 14:38:03
I heard they want something around 50million, not sure if its true. But what would u think about the signing of vardy ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think he would be a good signing apex, and if the money being talked about is correct a bit of a steal mate..

04 Jun 2016 18:18:35
Thanks for the reply ed. I think arsenal might change their formation next season.

Question for the Ed's (and anybody) .

Just read that a release clause can only be activated by a club who have qualified for Champion's League.

For example, Arsenal can trigger Vardy's release clause, but not Liverpool.

Do you know if this is correct?
(I'm possibly assuming this is maybe not a stipulation in all contracts) .

Believable0 Unbelievable1

03 Jun 2016 22:21:37
I know release clauses in the UK mean nothing and are more of a gentleman's agreement. Then there's the buy out clause which as far as I'm aware is a situation where a player can buy himself out of his contract. I believe he has to be over a certain age and be in the final two years of his contract.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just ignore them.}

03 Jun 2016 23:01:18
Well yea they're not really something I think about. Especially after the Suarez situation a couple of years ago. He couldn't even get a court to enforce the so called 'release clause', so frankly what's the point in having them?

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Jun 2016 23:36:26
With suarez it was always a case of liverpool will only consider a bid, they had every right to refuse. When Suarez got into that contract media were all over it stating how pointless that clause was.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2016 03:08:40
No gunns4ever. That's why he took them to court. But as has been said before, they're not legally enforceable over here. So really its pointless and none of us should worry about it.

03 Jun 2016 21:51:56
So you boys are in talks with vardy, 20 million would be one of the buys of the season . I'd love him at my club to link up with dags mate Harry Kane. It looks like wengers going to spend big this summer if it pays off happy days but if it doesn't he will be gone come next may.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he will go because he wants to raver..

03 Jun 2016 22:25:02
He wants to come to arsenal Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i was talking about arsene CS...sorry for the confusion..

03 Jun 2016 22:58:24
Ah sorry.

You can always sign Ibrahimovic.

Can we all just celebrate the fact that Ed002 responded to an Arsenal rumour!

03 Jun 2016 20:36:16
It seems we have triggered Jamie Vardy's release clause. A steal at £20m. I wonder if Wenger really is going to open the chequebook. Vardy and Morata would be a statement of intent, no?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Jun 2016 20:44:33
Well, that what sky sports is saying but I still want morata too. Not too sure if vardy suits our game plan, saying that vardy still will be a great addition to any team.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jun 2016 20:55:21
The release cluases aren't applicable in the premier league.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear - this is another misunderstanding about "clauses". I am not interested about going in to detail but you need to step back from worrying about "clauses" and "finances". I will say that there is interest in Vardy from Arsenal.}

03 Jun 2016 21:08:38
Thanks for coming back ed.

03 Jun 2016 21:20:26

Welcome back Ed02

Not sure I want Vardy but if we sell Gibbs and Ox - we need some home grown talent.

Lets hope this doesn't drag on all through the summer and is sorted quickly. No 20 mil and a pound offers. If he's our target then get him.

I am personally cautious about the Vardy interest. I'm not sure how he'd do in our system. Would much rather see us move for Lukaku.

03 Jun 2016 19:36:01
Hello

Is there any truth to these rumors that Arsenal has triggered Vardy's release clause?

Spanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jun 2016 23:04:32
Well first thing to say is sky sports can't really be trusted. They have which I'm sure when they release rumours has an increase in takings on bets on certain players moving. Also, a couple of years ago they released a ' ' article about Fellaini being in talks with and on the verge of signing with Arsenal. That turned out to be untrue fortunately. But goes to prove they don't necessarily publish the truth, like most media outlets.

03 Jun 2016 16:40:20
Eds, what's your view on the whole arsene Wenger debate, do you think he's still the man to take the club forward or he should resign at the end of next season? I can imagine Wenger stepping down if another unsuccseful season happens again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - hes stepping down anyway alam, he wanted to go at the end of last season but was persuaded to stay for 1 more year mate..

03 Jun 2016 18:30:55
The debate needs to stop it can only be damaging he is going end of next year and that's that.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2016 19:01:06
I agree with Sanogo let's stop the Arsene debate and concentrate of the season ahead, if we win the league or get extremely close after a long sustained challenge that gets to game 37 with us well in the running we would all be happy for him to continue and if he doesn't his contract is up and there's nothing left to say on the subject.
Let's all wait and see and maybe if we're lucky we will all be Arsene in this time next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2016 19:55:43
Ed025, this might sound a bit silly but still, does last season means the season that has just ended?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yes mate..

03 Jun 2016 21:45:36
Hiya, Liverpool supporter here, just being nosey. Do you think Arsene will retire or go to another club? I love him personally, understand how Arsenal supporters get frustrated with him, but he's a gentleman, and a damn site more personable than some of the arse-hat managers out there. He'll be a loss to the EPL imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you on that one super, he is expected to retire at the end of next season mate..

04 Jun 2016 19:19:48
hi all, i strongly believe wenger leaving would be bad for us. he has just started buying players as arsenal have only truly started spending in the last 3 years. for all wenger haters out there, we would be like villa now if he left us when so many other big clubs came calling for him. i also believe that without his constant qualification for champions league we would not have been able to pay the loans for the emirates project off in the manner we have. all of this achieved when we were selling our top talent when the big clubs came calling. for what? all to make arsenal from a normal club into a BIG club. i strongly believe that if wenger was allowed he would have bought players in the past but due to financial hurdles and shitty general staff he wasn't able to get the players he wanted. i think wenger should bring on a strong assistant manager and better (YOUNGER) general staff who will kick the players ass to keep them on their toes as he's too old IMO to deal with the younger players. another thing that is important is that the players need not just respect but also relate to their managers and since wenger doesn't really have that kind of personality and he always stands up for his players even when they lose. i believe someone like berkamp would be an awesome choice to come in as AM to keep the lads hungry and at their best (example: zidane at madrid) and maybe take over one day from wenger. on another note positive signs seeing wenger with dein at ENG vs POR, oooo how i wish he dein never left : (.

in conclusion wenger leaving is going to leave a crater in arsenal so i don't know why all fans are asking for his immediate exit. the man hasn't delivered in the last 10 years but he is also the man who has given us the only golden league trophy in the games history and a style of play that resembles what johan cruyff left at Barcelona and see where they are today. i will never stop respecting the man as he is truly a legend and someone who will be credited with arsenal future glories because of what he did for our club just like johan cruyff is credited for barcelona.

of course this is all open for debate and opinions are more than welcome if they are civil :)

Hey ed01. Is jeison murillo still the most likely cb signing? Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - never was the most likely signing, just right at the top of the wanted list. The most likely is one of the Valencia pair of Mustafi or Musacchio, as both are available for sale. Difficult to put a real likelihood on anyone until the club actually makes a serious move to seal a deal. Though Wenger will no doubt surprise us all with someone unknown 20 year old French player instead anyway!}

03 Jun 2016 14:21:24
Musacchio is a top player, surprising Barce haven't made a move for him since he seems perfect for them! His only negative is that he's had a few injuries over the last 2-3 seasons. Mustafi is also a great player but would most likely cost a bit more than Musacchio.
