Arsene wenger admits Micheal Essien moving to Arsenal this summer is a possibilty as the midfield ace will be available on the free.
Gonzalo Higuain is also linked with a move to the Emirates aswell but they will face stiff competition to land the Argentine's Signature with fellow Rivals Tottenham also intrested in the striker.

Well that's a lie RE: Essien b/c AW didn't say any such thing and considering his contract at CFC doesn't run out until 2015 I can't see him going anywhere 'on a free'.

Heard a rumour a couple weeks back that bayern will push to sign koscielny, pep was a keen admirer at the end of last season and now this rumour seems to be gathering pace. Reported price up to 18-21million.
Good price but personally I hope we don't sell, he is possibly one of the best defenders in the world, very under-rated and so fast at covering back.
If arsenal were to sign a strong powerful cb such as subotic, hummels or badstuber my preferred choices we could look at an amazing partnership for the next 5 years.
And let's face it vermaelan hasn't been up to scratch, mertesacker is a tad too slow and prone to mistakes however I do admit he is having a good season but then we don't really have anyone, Miguel isn't quite there yet, squillaci isn't what we expected and djourou wants to stay at hamburg.
Eds have any ideas of any potential defensive targets?

I agree with everything you have said, kos is class, and has been our best defender over 2 years, his tackling is perfect, and is good on the ball. I would rather hummels, because he is young and a bit better than subotic

Just a thought guys. with news coming out that Galatasaray are refusing to pay the £5.4m for Felipe Melo to make his loan deal permanent wouldn't this be worth a punt as use to be one of our main targets. Tough DM and at 29 would offer that bit more maturity to the youngsters??

Few years ago I was desperate for Melo to replace Gilberto but not anymore he has declined very quickly and IMO is not worth £5m

Galatasaray are looking to bring in Podolski or Gervinho for 12-15 million
Wenger has come out and said he can see Podolski playing up front possibly and he will play there for remaining 3 games. A good sign of intent to keep the striker for those fearing we'll sell him so soon. Another topic, Arjen Robben is likely to leave Bayern with new manager Pep Guardiola coming in rated 12-15 million.
