Ed's note - I do agree with you, I think we see things in a very similar way, Eboue is definitely a symptom rather than a cause of your malaise.}

True, but he still irritates the h*ck out of me.

NW4 Gunner

Hi, you are spot on, especially with regards ro the Villa situation. Cesc did come out and say the 1 player he would like to see at Arsenal was Villa and at that time probably would of been affordable as valencia were in deep financial s* *.
He is no doubt the player we have missed since wrighty.

It is wishful thinking about Cesc though, you could open a bidding war with Real, Barca and Man C but he would only sign for barca so it would be a waste of time and AW knows that.
Unfortunatley though, i believe the time to impress and keep Cesc is past, which is a major shame, he won us several games last year single handed, we would not of finished third without him.
IKE.

Looks like three top signings from Wenger this summer. Whilst letting go of Sylvestre who was a decent pro, but simply not good enough anymore. Gallas who is in his 34th year & had become injury prone. Campbell who is almost 36 & has come back overweight from the summer break. Senderos who unfortunately never lived up to the promise he showed when he was a teenager. Eduardo who was never the same player after his terrible injury. Abu Diaby has settled in well in a holding role alongside the excellent Song. Hopefully, we will get Van Persie & Bentner back soon, Nasri has already resumed training & may be ready for the next Premiership match against Bolton. With regard to the goalkeeping situation, although I am not a fan of Almunia, is Scwarzer at nearly 38 years of age any better? Remember Fulham finished 12th last season & conceeded 46 goals in the premiership. I recall Lehmann expalining that keepers at Arsenal are under more pressure, because we defend a high line, whereas teams like Mourinho's Chelsea defend the 18 yard box, making life much more difficult for strikers. I don't like our current formation, which in my opinion leaves a huge space in front of the full backs when we attack, allowing the opposition to counter attack in the space. Have a look at the goal we conceeded in Blackburn match last Saturday, as a perfect example. I prefer Wengers more successfull interchangable, not rigid, 4-4-2. So far this season I am extremely happy with the performances & the results.
