Hi Ed, lots of outlets saying arsenal will sign Gabriel Magalhães. You previously said we need to sell before we buy, is this still the case or could he be signing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have at least 8 first team centre backs already - two are new this year, one has returned from inury and one has just been given a new contract. The club are is a really serious financial mess and right now three players from Kia are being pushed in via Edu. The club is a complete shambles. One assumes the "lots of outlets" have recearched and proven this story - so I am not the one to ask I am afraid. It is tiresome answering the same things over and over.}

Sorry Ed.

The media outlets all feed off each others click bait now days DG mate, they've even become to lazy to invent their own fantasy headlines.
If you want to know what's really happening you have to be patient and wait for trusted sources to tell you what they KNOW! Of course for those who simply can't wait for reality to happen there are lots and lots of outlets ready to feed your desire for false news being better than no news and it's available 24/ 7 too :-)

Ed,
If you have the time could you please clarify the clubs position, to the best of your knowledge, on where they are focusing in strengthening the squad and what players they are targeting please?
Your insight would be great for us to be able to understand the extent of the current poor practice going on within the clubs hierarchy.
Realistically we need a powerful dynamic CM and someone who can play between the lines in an attacking midfield role. Outside of that I feel we have cover in every position if we retain the majority of the squad for at least one more season and see if Arteta can continue to get improvement out of them.
Being linked with Willian and Fernandez and some of these other players is a major concern right now considering we have Saka/ Martinelli/ Pepe etc.
Signings like Willian will do one of two things, stunt the young players or lead to another Ozil situation where our resources are hit for years to come.
This Willian thing smacks of buddy back scratching and that our club is being taken for a ride. It's almost like Stan's lack of presence is getting exploited by opportunism where this agent is concerned.
More and more I am questioning whether Edu is completely naive here or whether he is consciously threatening the long term stability of the club on and off the pitch.
As always your input would be appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - The links to Willian and Fernandes, and the recruitment of Luiz the push for Kurzawa and the discussions over Coutinho are all down to Kia Joorabchian who is indeed, via Edu, taking the club (his club) for a ride. The total cost for David Luiz for the initial one year deal was £24M. I have explained this since last summer when David Luiz joined (and he is not even David's agent). As I have explained elsewhere about Reguilon, if Arsenal lost Tierney he would be offered up.

I will provide a list of players who Arsenal still maintain an interest in when time allows later this week.}

Thanks Ed.
This is shocking from a club of our size and reputation that it is resorting to player recruitment not through need of suitability but consulting one intermediary who’s motivation lies in the financial reward he stands to attain by facilitating the moves.
Absolutely shocking to think that this guy can declare himself an Arsenal fan and have a reputation for back door dealings and those criteria are the only things he needs to get Edus trust with regards to recruiting players. I can only conclude that Edu is knowingly complicit in this ongoing filtering of Arsenals funds to his mate.
I suppose the next question is, how is this misappropriation of the clubs finances being missed or overlooked by the Kroenkes
Surely this type of dodgy dealing would see Edu removed from his position once the details of the Luiz deal alone were investigated?
Thanks for your reply ed.

{Ed002's Note - This is not misappropriation of funds, just a very badly run club. This has been done to death.}

I was under the impression Luiz was represented by an agency that Joorabchian is a partner in. But yes, we are letting ourselves become an agent's plaything, presumably with the reasoning that it let's us compete for better players or whatever. Makes me feel a bit ill.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Kia acted as a third party to assist DL’s agents - both were paid very well.}

04 Aug 2020 17:48:59
If arsenal lost Tierney! I have to assume to injury as they'd be mad to sell him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No, I have explained that under certain circumstances there will eb interest.}

04 Aug 2020 18:46:43
For ages Ed02 has said we were poorly run and I just thought it was incompetence. Now it seems much darker than that . Let’s just hope those circumstances don’t arrive and we sell Tierney . Best pure defender we’ve had in years COYG PS did this Joorabchian agent cause Mislintat to leave? If so unforgivable.

* Don’t 👀👀 ( sell Tierney) COYG.

05 Aug 2020 00:39:59
Why would you assume that Sussex? Seems like nonsense to me. I thought the reasons Mislintat left were very well documented and were due to a power struggle at the very top prior to Edu even arriving at the club.

My understanding was Sanlehi moved us towards buying players via network of connections eg Dennis Suarez ( remember him from Barcelona) rather than recommendations from Mislintat. This would annoy anyone. It’s a short step to appointing Edu and utilising his contacts too very closed outlook. Regardless the current situation is a concern COYG.

Even if Chelsea big Chilwell and Leicester come knocking for Tierney there is no way that deal happens.
Tierney epitomises what we need and has achieved a certain level of cult status already amongst fans, his name is the most printed in sales of the new shirt.
It would take a few larger than the one Leicester would get for Chilwell to tempt Arteta who clearly is a fan.
Not worried about a Tierney sale.
I’d sooner loose Auba.

Hi Ed, do you expect arsenal to sign Willian? And if he does sign, does it spell the end for Reis Nelson?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is every chance that Kia will get the three year deal for a 32 that Willian wants but Chelsea won't give him.}

04 Aug 2020 11:08:39
Ed, I’m sure you are aware, arsenal supporters always voice their anger at the owner (Stan Kroenke) . You previously said that the structure has nothing to do with the owner with edu and other senior management creating a mess with responsibilities, which ultimately led to Sven Mislintat leaving the club. I must say when I hear that Chelsea are getting Havertz, United getting Sancho, I must admit I am jealous. Are those who can change the structure even trying to change it? And if the structure was correct, what does that ultimately change within the club? Is it transfers and targets? Vision? Thanks. sorry for the long message.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It needs someone to come in from outside. Last summer was a financial disaster when the club committed money put aside fro not being in Europe. It is a complete shambles and it is getting worse with Kia doing what he is doing. Does giving a three year contract to someone who will be 32 this coming weekend make sense. Does £24M for the one year deal for DL make sense. Does vastly overpaying for Pepe make sense?}

04 Aug 2020 11:22:20
But why? Just because Kia says 3 years why do Arsenal feel the need to say yes to that? I just don't understand why they would accept something that is blatantly ridiculous without good reason. It's madness.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Because Willian is not an option to Arsenal otherwise.}

04 Aug 2020 14:37:27
I know it’s all stupid Ed, it’s just annoying when your saying it and they aren’t planning on fixing it. Makes everything seem hopeless.

04 Aug 2020 14:58:10
Exactly, so then you move on. Or do they not realise that you can actually walk away if someone doesn't accept your terms? I appreciate that matters involving Arsenal and transfers in general are way more complicated than any of us will understand but it doesn't take a genius to understand when something is bad for business. Sorry Ed, it's just frustrating.
