So, we have just received £96.5m for last years 3rd place and TV rights.

Not too shabby.

Btw thanks ed for your earlier reply. But back to big things, Petr Cech? Reports today claim Chelsea have said he can move to any team if the price is right. So do you have any updates boss?

Agree0 Disagree1

Really don't want that to be true. Not an admirer of him and if the supposed fee been reported is correct I would throw up my insides

Would you prefer us to spend that value on a defensive midfielder though? Even though we have had a young player emerge in that position who statistically has proved to be the most effective player in the league in the DM role.

Coquelin has been a revelation, and his emergence has given us much needed balance in that area of the field. Now looking at our squad it should be obvious that where our team lacks is a clinical goal scorer, that should be the priority not a luxury.

I must admit I've been banging on about another DM - Kondogbia is my preferred choice, but Schniederlin would do I guess, - but if we didn't go and buy one with the emergence of Le Coq, we could do worse than get Krystian Bielik to have as much pre-season game time as possible.I know he's "only a young lad" and it might be a gamble to rely on him yet if Le Coq was injured/suspended against a high level Champions League opponent or Chelski or Citeh, but you cannot legislate for every eventuality and he is alleged to be mustard.
Spend £25m on Varane, and £35m on Benzema, have Cech if we can - I just can't see Chelsea letting him come here no matter what is said that "he can choose with our blessing" from Roman's PR machine and chop out all those who have been endlessly listed before and Robert is your Father's brother.

Totally agree max heard good things about Bielik aswell. The days of austerity are over at arsenal so there's no reason why we can't buy right through the middle

So just to clarify Ed, what your saying is the things you have no knowledge of you don't actually know?
Is that me up to speed or have I missed something :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - spot on G62..

05 Jun 2015 21:29:22
Cheers Ed thanks for clearing that up :-)
On another note completely I know your not exactly excited by signing Cleverly and I totally understand why but its suddenly dawned on me that the first two signings of the summer are both moving to Merseyside teams and both on a free but also both have premier league winners medals.
Will they both shock everyone by turning out to be brilliant signings come next May?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - in a word mate...NO..

Ed's do you know what the likelihood of arsenal looking at Stephen El shaarawy? I know wenger has shown interest before and likes the player. I know he's been injured and not had the run he had in 2013 but when I saw him against Torino last month it just reminded me of how amazing he could be and in a team like Arsenal and wengers guidance he could and should be a world beater ( and wouldn't cost the world )

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Borussia Dortmund, Genoa and Roma would like to strike a deal with Milan at some point for El Shaarawy but Milan have no intention of selling unless a very significant offer is made. Arsenal and PSG were previously interested but his agent has made no secret of his preference to leave Italy after an average couple of years playing a few games and scoring very few goals. To me it makes little sense.}

Thanks Ed.. At a big fee it wouldn't make much sense. Them 2 goals he scored prob put 15mil on his price tag
