He's good on fifa

I agree, he scored 11 goals in 11 games for me on fifa and can play as a midfielder.

The prospect of Seeing Victor Valdes at Arsenal has become stronger.

In short I have a mate who works in Barcelona at the FC.

He is not in any negotiation team or on some panel. however he did mention to me that the rumours around are that Arsenal have made progress in buying Valdes.

This again is a rumour from him. However the fact that he has heard it on his end. must mean there should be atleast 10% more chance of us landing Valdes.

FYI negotiations normally don't end up in the public strata. however considering Barca would like a bidding war its quite likely they would like to show some interest from a top club to get a auction price.

lets hope it does not get down to that.

Don't rate Valdes all that highly and think Scez has been unfairly become a scapegoat for the fans for a dodgy defence. Even if WS leaves, there are better replacements than VV from Barca (whose brilliance in attack does not cover an average defence themselves).

I am not a fan of shortish keepers & Valdes at 6ft, comes into this category. I would continue with Fabianski until the end of the season & see how he goes. I have been very impressed with his recent performances. With Szczesny as back up & Martinez as 3rd choice. I would definitely let the woeful Mannone depart.

Agree2 Disagree0

Fair enuf. I don't make the trades. i'm just supplying a bit of info. as I said could be a ploy to get clubs to start bidding for him.

i know arsenal used to do it. so perhaps they are pulling the same trick now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Definatly don't want valdes don't rate him any better than fabianski all ego

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope this is not true. all of our goalkeepers are better than him. This would be a shame. I don't want to see him in an Arsenal shirt.

I'd rather play Arsene Wenger in goal than Valdes, do not rate him at all. Continue to play Shez, he will improve with time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a mate at barca who we a swapping teams. opps sounds to much like rubbish like your talking

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Jorge Campos he was tiny. I think there is a tendency to underrate Valdes just because he is Barcelona's keeper.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id rather keep scez and fabianski and build in other areas.
Scez has been great and like others said made a scapegoat. though fabianski has been pretty solid but is that just the defense balancing things out? hard to tell. same thing for valdes as what he has in front of him leaves him little to do (and I mean attack and mid keeping the ball away from defence)

Agree0 Disagree0

"must mean there should be atleast 10% more chance of us landing Valdes"

What because your mate told you so? Good one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol the poster who said the is tendercy to underrate Valdes because he play for Barca? WTF?
He is so overrated because he play for Barca, he win the best keeper in Spain for I think 4 straight years now in front of casillas.
Seriously in front of good defence still leak goals for fun with his individual errors.

Ins:

N'Koulou: Young center back. Expressed a desire to leave Marseille, Wenger a long term admirer. Face a bidding war from other clubs though

Wanyama: Exactly the type of midfielder Arsenal need. Could depend on CL qualification though, something he is already guarantueed at Celtic pretty much

Jovetic: Natural finisher brought in to partner Giroud upfront. Interest from City and Juventus has cooled. Could all depend on CL qualification again

Outs:

Sagna: Talks over a new deal have apparently stalled, PSG reported to be monitering his situation

Vermaelan: Apparently Barcelona are interested

Djourou: has already made it very clear that he wishes to move away permanently. Permanent deal to Hamburg

Bendtner: looks to be finally getting his wish of leaving. Apparently Anzhi and Zenit are both interested

I know that there are also rumours about Corchia joining, I personally believe Wenger will stick with Jenkinson, with Yennaris and Bellarin as back-up. No new keeper either, Szczesny is expected to keep fighting for his place, Fabianski looking good and Mannone on the books as well

Believable30 Unbelievable17

This post is just so wrong in general. Wanyama and Jovetic are possible, so is N'kolou. But there are even more to come and far more to go. Fabianski's contract ends. So either we will buy a new GK or he will sign a new contract, what I don't believe. So we will need to buy a new GK as well. Squillacy AND Djourou will be gone. So we are left with 3 cb. A young cb like N'koulou will be a good aquisition, but we will buy someone with more expirience as well at that position. Vermaelen won't leave, this is ridiculous. And Sagna will probably leave, and Jenkinson isa great rb. But having two youngsters like yennaris and jenkinson in the a squad will just not happen dude. arshavin's contract ends as well and Frimpong's contract is over too. so your list is just wrong dude:D

Oh, and Mannone contract will end in summer 2014, and I don't think he will stay either, so we will definaetly get a new GK this summer. Chamakh's contract will end in the summer 2014 as well and Park's contract even this summer. so we have a lot more players who will leave this transfer window. Hope Rosicky signs a new deal. his contract ends next summer as well:/

AustrianGunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you honestly saying that we will allow 2 out of 3 of our keepers to leave? I think Fabianski certainly deserves to stay, he's been playing well recently. Do we really need a Valdes or Reina (who are both towards the tail-end of their careers, both liabilities as well)?. I excluded anyone who's contracts weren't expiring at any point soon, as I saw it as a given that they were leaving, perhaps with the exception of Rosicky and Fabianski. 2 cb's could be brought in, but I can't see us getting someone with more experience. Who would there be? Jagielka? A. Williams? Both unlikely to end up at the Emirates. There's every chance Vermaelan can leave, especially if we're dropping his captaincy next season. And yes, there's a big possibility of that. Was is not that long ago where are LB options was a young Ashley Cole, with an even younger Clichy? It's realistic, Wenger might alter the spine of the team, but I can't see him changing a huge amount to the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not changing a huge amount of the squad, but he is replacing players who are not strong enough with good ones. And Sagna's contract ends soon as well, so why did u post him there but not players who even have a shorter contract? And I didn't say, that I believe 2 of our GK are leaving, but that their contracts run out soon and there was absolutely no intention from both sides to prolong these contracts. I mean I never heard a word about Fabianski's contract in the media, but it's over THIS summer. so there is a high possibility. And where did I ask for Reina or Valdes? I don't like them, they are weak and completely useless and old. There are more GKs out there than Valdes or Reina. and why in hell shouldn't we buy 2 center backs? In your post u wrote, that we will loose Djourou and Vermaelen, Squillacy is gone as well and u really think we will sell 3 cb and just buy a young french man? seriously? you really can't believe this, do you :D? we would have per, koscielny and N#Koulou then! just think a bit before you write this stuff.

AustrianGunner

Agree0 Disagree0

I said Sagna because he has a more promenant role in the team, some of the other's who have contracts running out don't. Probably should have mentioned Rosicky though, even though I believe he'll stay. Who do you believe Arsenal should bring in as a keeper then? I personally believe goalkeepers are the one area Arsenal really don't need improving on. Even if Fabianksi goes, WS and Mannone are still there, both for at least another season, that would be good enough by my books, not every club has 3 keepers. I think so, at the very least one. I'm also not expecting Wenger to completely scrap his youth policy, I reckon Miquel will get a fair amount of playing time next season. So that would make 4 cb's. It's more then plausible
