edoo2 do we have an interest in a brazilian forward?

champagne charlie {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao remains of interest to several clubs including Spurs, Arsenal, PSG, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan and Juventus. Lyon and Barcelona seem to have dropped any interest they had in the player. January 2013 may be a likely time to move. The summer saw rejected bids from Spurs and PSG. Inter, Roma or Juventus may force a move - and these remain the most likely destinations right now. His club value him at an unrealistic 60M euro and don't want to sell. The player says wants to move to Chelsea but their interest would only be there if other targets were not achievable.}

Ed i'm after hearing tonight that we have made a bid for him.

there was no mention of price.

champagne charlie {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any bid at this time.}

Like most people 2 months ago I was almost drooling ant the Wilshire, Carzola, Arteta combination, and you will see every one els get the blame on these pages but the problems are starting with these three. They seem to be taking turns at cracking defences in the same way three men would digging a hole with one spade. They also seem unsure of their defensive duties. Most teams in this league are happy to come away with a draw against Arsenal so they are just patiently waiting for our defence to take the attacking responsibility and then counter attack. Swansea looked to have the blue print just right on the weekend, any managers from any other club would be crazy not to copy. Those three need to start creating more problems for defences and bring other players into the game.

I agree the problem is midfield arteta looks asleep lately, carzola is playing to deep but the biggest problem is defo ramsey he aint fit to ware the shirt, he gives the ball away 9/10 the guy cant pass he has no vision nor can he tackle. but anyhow the game is lost in midfield to many safe passes and no vision to attack they have lost the will to win. we are in rubbish...............BIG TIME

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with reply, Ramsey is not the same since leg break, brings nothing to the team, thinks he can play anywhere, never defends. Santi gets tackled, throws his arms up to say, where is my back up, Arteta, someone tell me what he does, simple passes, never goes forward, never shoots, doesnt take free kicks, Wiltshire not 100% and needs more games BUT basically midfield trio does not work, Arteta DM do mo a favour, to slow, can't tackle, in our box 99% time nearly gives away a penalty, we need DM like song... get buying wenger for Fksake... our back up players not good enough... On agood note young left back Jernade Meade played well Tue... Francis Coquelin jury is out...

Good post - two things the players are not doing:

1) hunting in packs - the barca midfield might be the most talented ever (TM) but the reason they do so well is because they have 3 midfielders who re hardly ever more than 20 yards away from each other. There is always a pass on, they hardly have to go looking for one but in the rare occasion they do, they usually do it with some mindblowing piece of video-game control. But the point is the 3 come as a unit that works as one. Our midfield is just a collection of 2 payers who look like they have no idea what they're supposed to do when they get the ball and one guy who is dead from overcompensating. Barca mids play in a pack and defend in a pack.

2) Playing between the lines. I have said this so many times now - 433 makes the 3 forwards hang off the defenders - nobody is playing between the lines. The midfielders are scared to commit to attack and nobody plays between the lines. Swansea was a classic example. So many massive holes on the pitch which there should have been one arsenal player waiting to receive and another close by running off that man.

Every game is the same, no playing between the lines. Arshavin, Cesc, Nasri, Fabregas, they all used to do this. It's not even special play it's common sense, if you are being marked, move into space!

Totally disagree! Jack and Mikel are working their socks off to break up play and win the ball back. the problem is,the lack of movement ahead of them. Our front three are static and Cazorla is usually surrounded by three men. As for Ramsey,he needs shooting!

We need to revert to Wengers original style of two giant driving holding central midfield players with hardworking technical players on the flanks. Hence... Wilshere, Fellaini, Abu Diaby & Cazorla. Back up/options - Oxlade, Arteta, M'Vila & Gervinho.

The Henry loan deal has apparently been agreed in principle.
So if anyone had hoped for that apparent £30m kitty to be dipped into, prepare to be disappointed.

In other news, Stan Kroenke announces plans to build £29,999,999 mansion to be built on his ranch grounds.

The remaining £1 is to be used to offer Theo Walcott a improvement on his current deal.

Do you not that Henry id past it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I....I don't understand what you mean mate.

If your asking if I know Thierry is past it, then yes, I'm not endorsing the deal, just saying its apparently happening.
If Henry joined us on a free, or as a staff member, I'd welcome him with open arms.

But as our possibly only signing, when we need a DM and a permanent forward, then I'm not impressed.

edd is it true united want lewandowski for around 12mil if true we should try and sign him {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski was watched last year by Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who were concerned about losing Welliton), Juventus and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund, but Dortmund certainly do not want to sell him to BM. The other more viable options are Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus (albeit he is now far from first choice for them as they are closing in elsewhere). Chelsea have considered Lewandowski but I don't know of any bid being made and there would not have been a bid anywhere close to the 35M euro Dortmund valued him at. At present Dortmund and the player have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't. There is no agreement in place for him to join any other club in January and a summer move is more likely.}

Ed- Do u think Dennis Praet or Kevin Strootman will join Arsenal in January? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool had someone watching Praet in the recent Champions League game between Anderlecht and Zenit Saint Petersburg. Ajax are also showing an interest in the player and a number of other clubs have taken a look. Manchester United and Liverpool took a look at Kevin Strootman last season but tentative enquiries were met by a reluctance to sell so soon after arriving. His performances have attracted further interest from Manchester United, Valencia, AC Milan, Schalke 04 and Hamburg. I expect him to move to Manchester United or Milan in the summer.}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Dennis Praet would be a good player.
Imagine him with Eisfeld and Gnabry

twitter talks right now are saying arsenal are in for or interested in mbiwa from league 1. ed how true please? {Ed002's Note - Mbiwa had been of serious interest to AC Milan, Lille and Fenerbahce but having signed a new deal at Montpellier he will not be going anywhere for a while. Twitter is not the best source of information.}

i have it on good authority that Theo feels let down by the club and is now ready to leave due to the long drawn out contract talks, which he believes AFC are the cause in their refusal to talk and also with him being left off the calendar - another player the board have messed around

MB

Believable22 Unbelievable14

I'm sorry, Theo has been free to sign a contract for some months now - the club is not "messing him arround" by making him an offer which does not meet his ludicrous demands. Theo somehow expects to demand where he plays, and wages more appropriate to somebody with several trophies and a long career under their belt.
Let him rot in midtable obscurity with Liverbore if thats what he considers a step up.

Agree0 Disagree0

He only want 100k a week - about average for a good prem player - let me remind you chamakh is on 60k arshavin 75k squillaci 50k yohan 50k fab 50k daiby 65k rosikcy 85k thats 435k approx a week from 7 players that dont play score or create any assists for AFC (maybe a bit harsh on TR) where as Theo score approx 10 a season and assists about 11 a season and is improving on these stats
MB

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him leave, he's so inconsistent. Doesn't make the cut IMO nd i don't really know what the fuss is about

Chris waddle made a good point about walcott....no football brain.....spot on.....never uses his pace,doesnt play with any confidence but thinks he is undervalued......he was crap against Swansea.....one good game out of every 8 games is not enough....when was the last time he gave a left back a roasting..the whole game....remind me please.......bye theo.....and take your agent with you....im sure he tells you how wonderful you are.km

Agree1 Disagree0

"Let him rot in midtable obscurity with Liverbore if thats what he considers a step up."

It wouldn't suprise me if they finish above us to be honest. Also Walcott is our best player so he should be on the £100k.

Agree0 Disagree0

Theo has 10 games and 7 assists this season and we are not even half way through. If you guys want to lose our most efficient player who has set up most of Giroud's goals then you will definately be supporting a mid table soon this year. Walcott is better than every other attacker we have.

I agree with every negative thing said here about him, and his refusal to sign for a rumoured 75k smacks of self-delusion. And Walcott's the best attacker we have?! Really?? Podolski is streets ahead in terms of all round intelligence of play, and on a good day even Gervinho is a better all round player. I've been saying this for 3 years now... Get. Rid.

arsenal look favourites to sign sterling from liverpool if he cant agree contract terms with liverpool he is also good mates with the ox watch this space

Believable15 Unbelievable35

Perhaps some sort of swop deal, with Reina & Sterling coming to Arsenal & Walcott going to Liverpool?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sterling who is totally unproven and making ridiculous wage demands? No thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Define totally unproven? He's set the premier league alight in a way we could only dream the Ox had last season...I think that is proof. What do you want a world cup? He's 17ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

WE DON'T WANT HIM!!! we need proven players, I'm talking Huntelaar, Baines, Reina...
