6m for Squillaci? I want what you are smoking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also no Wilshere? There is no way Wilshere will not be first team next year.

mhc503

Agree0 Disagree0

How are you expecting to get 6M for the damp squill when we only paid 5M and he's defo gotten worse?
Also a lot of people close to the club seem to be suggesting that Nasri will sign a new deal.
Don't figure we'll get both hazard & mata if either, tho hope I'm wrong about that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is Annan??

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill will cost 25mill
samba = 8 mill not a hope br will sell for that

Agree0 Disagree0

25 mil. for hazard and mata will be waste of 50mil. they are ones for the future they wont improve the current squad to the level required

Agree0 Disagree0

Wake up people , wenger wont pay over 20 million for any player, if fab and nasri leave expect VP to follow.

Agree0 Disagree0

No one will buy squillaci, I think Nasri will stay at arsenal. And Hazard will not leave lille

Ed, have you heard anything about a press conference because I have heard that it will be on : Tuesday 12:00 am , Wednesday 12:00 am, and Thursday 10:00 am

So do we have any genuine leads or sources as to when it may be ( if it really does exist) ??

Cheers

P.S. If it does exist I take it than signings will be announced ?

{Ed022's Note - There are officially no press conferences planned this week. No players will be unveiled. Sorry!}

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Do you realise 12am is midnight so that would never happen? I think you mean 12pm, either way it isn't happening.

ed anything in the marcelo rumours that are starting to surface? talk of a 10million deal which i think is very cheap as hes a player who i rate bigtime.. {Ed009's Note - I don't think he will leave Madrid this summer as, even though Coentrao has joined, Mourinho rates the player, and they need a squad. That is just based on my perception of course, no inside knowledge in this case.}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Marcelo is good going foward but a bad defender, a very bad..He has improved a lot since he signed for Madrid but for me it isnt enough, struggle a lot against good winger..

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2011 20:34:24
Ed have we bid for Benzema? And what other targets do you seem likely/realistic? {Ed009's Note - I am not sure that you have bid for Benzema, but Arsene has met with his representatives several times and it would appear he is a potential signing. Whether you will cough up the required funds is a different question. If Arsene wants him I would say he should move soon, before a more financially aggressive team gets involved.}

Believable12 Unbelievable3

What would worry me is that if real take an intrest in tevez then city mite do some kinda swap with benzema...anyone any thoughts on that..

ed what happened to gervinho? he was ment to sign ages ago ...is it still a done deal? {Ed009's Note - I don't think it is, or ever was a done deal - but near to. It remains that.}

Believable12 Unbelievable1

He's being unveiled sometime this week, it's done and dusted but not been 'officially announced yet' :-)

As per source close to the Arsenal, that Samir Nasri is set to sign a new contract with Arsenal this Thursday and Fabregas is set to leave for Barcelona with Maxwell coming the other way.

Gary Cahill & Samba is likely to sign for Arsenal before August.

Gervinho is will have medical on Thusday.

Arsenal is planning to sign Hazard & Tarabat after Fabregas exit.

Believable9 Unbelievable14

Was all going well, all believable, until you said about Taarabt.

PSG have bid 12m, which I don't think we're going to pay for someone with Championship experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

PSG have not yet bid for Taarabt. QPR youth coach Barcham said no club has yet bid for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt hazard will leave this season. next season maybe, but i think he's happy in champs league

Agree0 Disagree0

Reason is he isn't worth the money he is childish, unloyal, hard to manage and has a touchy personality, bit like mido, van hoojdonk (spelling) tevez and a few others, fill in the blanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Having read various posts and working closely with Arsenal FC over the past 2 years with a very close contact - these rumours seem the most genuine and are most likely to happen.

Believable5 Unbelievable19

Hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

Just got back from Ireland and the Doyle rumours are going around.

Agree0 Disagree0

I very much doubt it.............we are not tht desprate....A.A

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good player. Better than some of the so called big names being mentioned by others.

Agree0 Disagree0

Working in wolves atm and the doyle rumour has gotten stronger over last few days. not claiming any sources just what people have been talking about in general convos. really hope we dont go for doyle in all honesty

Agree0 Disagree0

Doyle has everything AW wants in a player
*epl experience
*good finisher
*loyal
*cheap wages
*good passer
*learns quickly
*priced well for the market

ed do you belive any of that rumour that that person posted who player golf with brady today?
mark wexford {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

Believable3 Unbelievable15

If that all came true i would be the happiest gooner alive I'd love to be optimistic that it was true but its very hard to believe. Getting Hazard and Benzema would be awesome tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see liam brady saying all these things because he lives in my building near the emirate stadium and told me Fabregas will go ages ago..he's a really nice and humble person

Agree0 Disagree0

I just hope he is not a manc having a laugh.
KJ

Agree0 Disagree0

My friend knows an arsenal coach whom he worked for at another club.....this Arsenal coach doesnt know a thing, i doubt chippy would talk out of turn and, or know all the comings and goings because he looks after the youth set up.The french guy who speaks on talk sport philip auclair says Hazard is not going any where coz two are being sold already.....what was bradys comment about this morn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not related to Dublin Gooner but iam sure Liam Brad knows few things about the transfers there..Each time i saw him in my building , we spoke about Arsenal. at the end of may, i ask him about Fabregas and he told me he was going..so i can see Brady giving someone information because he's a nice guy..

Arsenals new signings will be
-hazard for 20-25 million
-aly cissokho 10-15 million
-samba and cahill will also join
- benzema will also be bought if a fee is agreed.

REDMAN

Believable20 Unbelievable16

I cant see benzema joining us and hazard will probably signed by inter or real. Also only one if any of samba and cahill will be signed

dear edds have any forgein clubs inquired about nasri or bendtner or other players.
and also any edds wich list about clubs is more believable thought both do not include any debt. the forbes one which values clubs on what they were bought for and what they might be worth with arsenal at third or the deloitte one which is based on match day revenue, tv deals, sponsorship and merchandise sales with arsenal at either fifth or sixth {Ed002's Note - They use the same data set just that they both discard certain, and different information. Forbes, based on the results calculates a proposed value. They should be of little or no interest to fans.}

I can confirm the following:

1. that Arsenal have accepted a bid of £40 million and Maxwell (left back) for Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona. This deal will be finalised on friday.

2 that Sami Nasri has signed a new 5 year contract worth £100, 00 a week.

3. Denilson has agreed a deal to join Deportivo for
£3 million pounds.

All 3 of these deals were confirmed this morning after each of the 3 players and their representatives held discusions with Wenger this morning and argreements were reached.

I would personally like to thank Cesc Fabregas for all he has done for AFC. He has been an asset to the club and I wish him every success for the future.

A press conference will be held on thursday at 10am to make these announcments as well as introduce the one and only Gervinho who has been signed for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £10 million . Gervinho is said to be keen to meet his new teammates and is glad that the transfer saga has ended.

I can also confirm that Arsenal have put in a bid of £18 to sign Benzema from Real Madrid who are currently considering the offer. Note IT HAS NOT YET been rejected.

Arsene Wenger is aslo set to meet with David Moyes. Wenger apparently wishes to discuss deals for Jagielka and Baines. It is also believed that Bendtner may be used as part of the offer.

Finally, expect either hazard or mata to be signed as a direct replacment for Fabregas (with Nari moving to the middle). Max budget for this deal is £20 million pounds.

Believe me or not I don't really care. I played golf with Liam Brady ( whos has also hooked me up with passes to watch the Arsenal team train next week as part of 02's family day out experience) this morning in a charity event in Dublin and this is what he assured me he knows. None of these deals will come as a surprise to anybody as they have all been widely reported in the media over the past few weeks. Anyway, you will see yourself on thursday at the press conference. Personaly I will be throwing a few quid on benzema, jagielka and hazard joining the gunners.

We will take in 50 million in transfer revenue and spend it all and more over the coming weeks.

Arsenal are touring in Asia next week

Agree0 Disagree0

Blinding

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, cos life is just that good.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope this is true. They would be excellent signings. Imagine an attack with a mixture week in week out of Benzema, RVP, Nasri, Hazard, Gervinho, Arshavin and Theo. With Jack and Alex holding the midfield. Jags and Baines would be quality too.

Throw in a GK to compete with Scnzney and keep him on his toes and we're laughing.

Dublin Gooner for manager lol

Marc

Agree0 Disagree0

Please let this be true

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know if this is true but well put together makes sense

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope your right Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

You're talking absolute crap because Cesc was in the gym for about 2hrs then went home, as his hammy is tight.

Nasri isn't even back from hols in Las Vegas until tomorrow.

On top of that, Darren Dein is STILL in Manchester with Clichy and he is agent to both the above mentioned players, as well.

The whole thing about Gervinho for £10m? Bull. The fee is £12.5 and was completed Sunday night.

The Benzema offer was rejected out of hand on Thursday afternoon BUT they are coming in with an improved offer.

Hazard WILL NOT Come to Arsenal after we've already signed Gervinho from Lille who themselves said they would not sell BOTH players (At any price).

Sorry Dublin, I WORK At Highbury House in travel & hospitality and know you're typing out of your ar$e...

Agree0 Disagree0

I can only hope to god your talkin some truth one nervious gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Certainly is quite believable

Agree0 Disagree0

Wondering why my post which shows how none of this is true, was left out but several others are posted? {Ed007's Note - Sorry, I have no idea, unless it was offensive and wasn't along a repetitive strain it should have been posted. If you would like to post it again I am sure it will be posted}

Agree0 Disagree0

1: Cesc was having Solo training for a tight hammy today, so no speaking with AFC for him.

2: Nasri is still on Holiday until tomorrow, so no speaking with AFC for him.

3: Darren Dein who rep's both above players is STILL in Manchester, with Clichy.

Therefore those 2 deals, have NOT happened.

4: Gervinho has already been signed, fee is £12.5m NOT £10m.

5: Arsenal put a bid of £15m for Benzema and it was rejected out of hand... They MAY come in, with an £18m bid this week.

6: Hazard will not be sold, as Lille already let Gervinho go... This is common knowledge.

Sorry DG, don't believe you... I work at Highbury House.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great shout
love this to become true, and i agree with marc, why arnt you AFC manager ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

I want to believe you. I really really do but all of this involves Arsenal ultimately spending some money and for that reason I'm out

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes sense, but £18 for benzima-bargain lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I naturally think u r lying but u seemingly know what ur on about Unless youv'e done ur research

Agree0 Disagree0

No way is this true, Brady would not know all that information.
More like wishful thinking or a wind up.

A GOONER

Agree0 Disagree0

i wouldnt hold my breath

Agree0 Disagree0

If your commenst are true, Then you have made a sad and worried gooner very very happy, I will be praying you are right,
Ed can you confirm any of the information from your contacts within the club?? {Ed002's Note - I am sorry but I cannot confirm any of this.}

6: Hazard will not be sold, as Lille already let Gervinho go... This is common knowledge.

Agree0 Disagree0

We wish... But good fantasy team....

Agree0 Disagree0

Bulls**t.

Brady would never disclose any of that to you, getting any info out of Arsenal is realy hard, and believe me I have tried as I have done some work for them recently and boy did I ask questions, and all I got back was "sorry we can not talk about transfers"

Agree0 Disagree0

Dublin gooner here. Like I said I don't really care if people believe me or not. i spoke to Brady and I have absolutely no reason not to believe him considering he is on the payroll at Arsenal. Like I said, wait till thursday and you will see.

And to the person who 'works at highbury house hospitality', no offence mate but I'm going to take one of the coaches word over yours. By the sounds of you, you probably clean the toilets or something less important than that.

So in response to your comments:

1. You agree Cesc was at the club today (now I very much doubt you had the pleasure of following him around all day and can account for his movements while at the club)

2. Nasri may very well be on 'holiday' still but this simply means he is not due to report back for training. I guarantee he has signed a new contract. This is the same stunt as Rooney pulled last summer in order to get increased wages. And it works.

3. Darren Dein has finished his business with city last night. Do you think he is still up there holding Clichys hand and tucking him in to bed when he has a £40million deal to sort out.

4. As I said Gervinho's deal was undisclosed. Brady believed it to be around the 10mil mark but if you are adament that it was 12.5 then fair enough, i'll take your word on it. So dont get your knickers in a twist.

5. Like you say, Arsenal bid already for Benzema. So is it not possible that they came back with an improved offer of £18 mil? Again my point is proven.

6. Are you now the chairman of Lille as well as a cleaner? Lille is a tiny club who cannot afford to let a bid of 20 million go by without considering it. A bit like us with Cesc. Believe me on this.

Finally, the everton players. I agree that this one seems the least concrete. I firmly believe that we wont cough up enough cash to get both players if even one. However, if we can offload some of our fringe player then there is a deal there to be struck. Baines and Jags are targets. But nothing more at this stage. Everyone else I have mentioned, bids have been lodged.

Like I have said wait till thursday if you dont believe me then I dont really care.

Ive been as annoyed and frustrated as all of you gunners with the lack of activity so I decided to share what I have heard today because it certainly gave me hope.

Trust in Wenger, Trust in Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you so confident about what you have written?

Agree0 Disagree0

The Gervinho fee is 12 million euros, but that equates to the rough fee which Dublin Gooner quoted which is in the region of £10m. Not to say I believe him, but it's a well put together and a believable report.

Given the fact that we've heard all the stuff about Cahill and Samba and hardly anything from Jagielka, that's rather intriguing and seeing as AW plays his cards closest to his chest than anyone, it could be the most believable. I dont know whether Wenger would really commit to signing more than about 4 transfers, but the thing that most excites me about this proposed piece of news is the exchange for Maxwell and Nasri's contract.

I repeat, I don't necessarily believe him, but this is all really believable stuff and also probably the tonic that Arsenal need. Well played, son.

Hopeful Gunner.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see why arsenal would want maxwell and baines, when we have gibbs waiting int he wings...

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see liam brady saying all these things because he lives in my building near the emirate stadium and told me Fabregas will go ages ago..he's a really nice and humble person

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets all wait till thurs to slag the man off if its true then WAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY if ist not then we can slate the man then

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, the most responses I have ever seen on this site It's all very credible and even possible so, for one, am willing to wait until Thursday...Friday even If true, M. Wenger will be truly vindicatedand we'll be talking about the treble next season...with this squad, we'll bypass the League Cup However...if it proves to be false, the flagelation and you should be ashamed of yourself (smile).

Agree0 Disagree0

Just wondering why we need Maxwell and Baines? It would take at least £25million to take Hazard from Lille and Jagielka is a right footed version of TV5 so not what we need at all.....

Agree0 Disagree0

I desperately want to believe this and I have just read that there was a charity golf event set up by 'Dublin East Coast Golf Alliance' which took place today...

I can't see us signing baines and maxwell unless traore heads to everton as well as bendtner

Agree0 Disagree0

There was a charity golfing event today arranged by 'Dublin East Coast Golf Alliance' which certainly intrigues me...
Still can't see us going for maxwell & baines. Unless we were to offer traore as well as the big Dane.

Also no way we'd get Hazard or Mata for under 20m. Plus Hazard wants barca or Real and Mata was a Real youth product which leads me to believe that he'd be another cesc only it will be Real this time not barca once he's showcased himself in champs league with arsenal.

James the realist

Agree0 Disagree0

Just 1 thing i think the newly super rich PSG have put in a 25m bid for hazzard and it's been turned down and also read that he is not interested in leaving lille this season no disagreeing with the main post just adding rumours that i read so arsenal will have to spend big to get hazzard

so when you think most mid table teams have bigger transfer records than arsenal i can't see wenger paying that much for a player

Agree0 Disagree0

I am mainly curious about Brady. Wouldn't Brady be back already working with Wenger and the youth players who were back today?

mhc503

Agree0 Disagree0

Post a picture of the golf day

Agree0 Disagree0

So your saying cesc, nasri and denilson deals done in one morning, hard to believe. If darrin dein is cesc and nasris agent im confident he will do the upmost to keep nasri, like hes father David he is Arsenal mad.....i heard a rumour the weekend from a source that has given info about football on and of the pitch which has come true.....when he says 100% it normally comes off.....well he said arsenal have signed Frank Ribery and Cahill....deals done, yeah i know Ribery is far fenched but this guy has told me things in the past that i didnt think would happen, or be true.Fist of all hes contract in germany is 9m euros a year, and hes nearly 29....so who knows. One thing is for sure theres a lot of things going on behind closed doors and i think we might have a few nice surprises to look forward to.F@@k man utd and jones and Liverpool paying too much for their players. Its not about how much you spend but who you spend it on......remember veron 26m, wright philips 22m, robinio 34m, sevchenko 30m and all dog s**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

Google liam brady arsenal transfer rumours

reaffirms what I am saying

Dublin Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

You say deals were done this morning you then say i was playing golf with liam brady this morning ...does this mean that he was in contact with the club while you were playing golf with him???

Agree0 Disagree0

Spanish tv reporter roberto bonafont-and on his twitter : arsenal £47m signing of mata and eden hazard

Agree0 Disagree0

Because you surely couldn't have Googled those rumours yourself then and posted here, at all?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice try DG, 'cleaner'? HAH No... I handle all travel & hospitality at the club, 3rd floor Highbury House, next to Finance.

First and foremost, knowing Liam Brady for over 20yrs as I do (he and my Grandpa go way back) I know matter-of-factly, he may give opinions, he may say little 'hints' but he would NEVER inform anybody - Esp' someone he's "playing Golf with" of the FULL ins/outs... Besides he doesn't know half of them, himself.

**Dein travelled back at about 2-3pm today after finishing off some final legal documentation at Eastlands. ALL Training was over by then.

**Cesc literally went to the gym and left, Wenger was outside at training with the rest of the squad they met for a brief two minutes, shook hands and Cesc went in with his personal trainer recommended by Henry.

**Nasri and Dein would NEEDED to have been at the meeting as it is a face to face, with Arsene and Gazidis over the contract it has yet to be signed... The club is not so stupid with both Manc clubs and Milan's lurching for Nasri, as not to make this announcement already, had it happened.

Now I'm not saying he WON'T Sign, he will. 4-5yrs 100,000pw as AW pulled his finger out so you're almost spot on there; BUT he hasn't signed already.

**As for Hazard... Lille's Charman HIMSELF has outright said he would not let both Hazard & Gervinho go, at the same time in the same window. His exact words were he cannot afford to let them go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some quality information, making mebuzz for next season even more. Big respect for Dublin Gooner if all of this is remotely true.

Hopefull Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope what you say is true although i do not find any of the offers like cahill or Samba, when really need a CB, Thats when you have come up with a LB and CB situation at Everton, doubt both of them wld leave anyways i dont mind even waiting till the week ends till all this sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liam Brady doesnt even like golf

Agree0 Disagree0

Look im not stating that what Brady said is Gospel. Im just relaying what he said to us. 5 hours on a golf course is a long time to spend with someone so its not as if he told me in a 5 minute conversation. I really want to believe what he said and imagine it is all accurate.

Scezney

Sagna Jagielka Vermalen Baines

Song

Wilshere Nasri

RVP Hazard

Benzema

Subs: Fabinaski, Gibbs, Koscielney, Gervinho, Chamakh, Ramsey, Walcott.

Surely that team would challenge.

Looking forward to seeing this happen.

Dublin Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive actually seen Liam Brady playing golf loads of times so thats a lie that he doent like it. He's always playing celebrity events.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would just like to say that I don't care if this is true or not, the fact is that this one post appears to have lifted everyone's spirit's, even if it is just for a day or two. Given that most of what I have read on this site is a lot of fellow gooners down and very pessamistic (spelling?), it is like a breath of fresh air, like I said, even if it is just for a day or two. Thank you DG.

Sam the Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Well u seem to be right on one account Gervinho will be announced tomorrow by the looks of things.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gervinho. Hopefully just one of what Dublin Gooner predicted.

Well done Dublin Gooner, keep them coming

{Ed022's Note - Lets just remember that unless you've been living under a rock for the last month or so then anyone could have predicted Gervinho. Let's just see if the rest pans out...}

Has there been any recent talk about going for Izaguirre? He should be cheaper than Baines, and I feel would be as good, if not better than, Enrique. He seems to be a very adept defender and has ability to push forward, what do you guys think (Ed included)? {Ed009's Note - he is a very good player but you would perhaps face competition from Liverpool if he became available. What's more he has recently expressed a desire to stay with Celtic - not that I have any idea why.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Maybe ed because celtic are a good team ? {Ed007's Note - Exactly, why leave a team on the up to join one falling apart, money isn't everything to some footballers and Izaguirre could go to a big EPL team if and when he leaves CFC}

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he wants to stay at celtic and win things...... he, ll win nothing at arsenal .......whens the last time youse won a trophy {Ed009's Note - I don't support Arsenal mate but are you another one of those Celtic fans who'll claim they have more fans worldwide than Liverpool or something?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Frankly I'd have thought he might want to leave to improve the quality of his own play, simply by playing against, and with, players of a far higher standard week in, week out. And I say that as a Scot. celtic couldn't even beat a lame duck, frankly poor Rangers team last season, and as for Europe...... Sheesh.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2011 15:41:07
ed if we lose the players that i believe we will eg, fab, nasri, clichy{gone} would that mean that we may be forced to hold on to the dross that is denilson, bendtner etc?? surely if this happens were in BIG trouble?? {Ed009's Note - I do think we could see some of the players that were expected to leave stay a while longer, yes. At the same time though I think Wenger will do his best to replace the quality that leaves with quality.}

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Real Madrid are going to sign Fabio Coentrao from Benfica for £27million (30 million Euros). Does that mean Marcelo is available from Madrid, because under Jose he looked extremely strong defensively and he is brilliant going forward.
Tim Taylor {Ed009's Note - personally I think Marcelo will remain in Madrid this season.}

Arsenal are to make an improved bid for the highly rated Nottingham Forest Academy player Jamaal Lascelles.
Lasacelles ( Defender ) who has also been a target for Man City and Spurs, is expected to be high on the list for manager Arsen Wenger. Wenger has made no secret of how highly he rates Jamaal , only recentley saying "he could make the first team at Arsenal already" The bid is expected to be in the reigon of about 8 Million having previously seen a bid of 5 Million rejected. Lascelles is 17 and his current contract is due to end in the summer of 2013.

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Haven't heard AW speak about this person (Lasacelles?) Once...

Agree0 Disagree0

Even at 5 million he must be class to say he is still an acadeny player. not very often that Arsen gets it wrong with young players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard this story before, i think if you put his name in to google it comes up with the story when 5 million was rejected.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its embarrasing he thinks 10 mil is high for chamberlain then he goes and splahses 8 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

He has had loads of scouts looking at him . I don't think forest will realese him tho he will prob play get promoted with them and then get sold to us for some crazy money.

I googled his name and it is the second story down on thisisnottingham. it says arsenal were rejected with a bid of 5 million for the centre half. I say offer 10 million and get him he has people from all over watching him. For an academy player can u imagine how good he would be in 5 years with us?

HI Ed, Arsenal are being linked with a 13.2m bid for Kevin Doyle... What do you think of Doyle? I think he would be a great signing and its a real common sense signing, fair enough he has a modest record but he does play for Wolves, who dont exactly compliment him as well as Arsenal would, would really like to see this happen, fee is a bit high yes, but i reckon it will be an excellent move for both Doyle and Arsenal and HOPEFULLY will only benefit the Republic of ireland aswell... Last Irish born player to wear an Arsenal shirt, was Graham Barret i think... {Ed009's Note - I think he is a very good, hard working player. But whether he could make the step up to a team like Arsenal is debatable.}

No please no, dont let this be true.

Inter Milan have concluded the deal for Ricardo Alvarez. The club and player have both agreed terms.

Arsenal refused to up their bid by a matter of a few million.

typical Arsenal

Wozza

Believable19 Unbelievable15

Alonso all over again - pathetic

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the point of arsenal was to buy players in that price category...how much do we keep low balling that we loose out on every time?

the only player we possibly made a bid on is gervinho...and hes not signed yet.

steelkenburg wanted to play for arsenal..we wasted time..he agreed verbally to roma and then we tried to hijack him and he refused us...then alvarez wanted to play for us...but again we were not ready to stump up 12 million euros or whatever?

Reading this i can totally understand why clichy left...and why cesc and nasri want to leave...

you dont get paid that well at arsenal and you dont win anything either...nice career for a football player.

Arsenal are trying to maintain a 49% of revenue vs expense stat...to take home 51% earnings.

Never knew the day the club i supported for soo many year would finally turn into an educational system. Arsenal Vs harvard must be the 1st game of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is BS Media talk still as BOTH Clubs bid the same amount and Velez Sarsfield have left it up to the player to make his decision.

It's not on either Velez or Inter's page yet, as Alvarez has yet to make his official decision.

Agree0 Disagree0

You dont get paid that well at Arsenal , look at our wage bill, you have no idea who we have made a bid for , you believe all the media bs and react to that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to inform you... If it was directed at me. But yes, I do know who we've bid for.

Besides this information is PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE. Velez President said himself he'd accepted bids from both AFC/Inter and was letting Alvarez make the choice.

i posted on this site 3 weeks ago that we should buy more english players and got slated.
ED my point is loyalty over the period wenger has been in charge how many english players have done the dirty on the club compared to the imports.
if we were to buy
cahill
jagielka
baines
barton
bent
and maybe 2 imports like
mata
hazard
STEEL WE HAVE NONE AT THE MOMENT.
WHEN YOU HAVE YOUNG PLAYERS LIKE WE HAVE HAD FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS YOU NEED STEEL TO BLEED THEM WE HAVE MISSED THAT
trust me there is going to be a mass exodus at our club
is it greed from the players or are they just not happy with the way the club is being run?
is it wenger does he now know his plans to try and play total football has failed?
is it the board has the trouble in the board room affected the team?
is it lack of money, it cant be we have money we owe 130 million we have a new stadium were a success of the pitch
ONE THING IS FOR SURE LUCK DOES NOT LAST FOR EVER AND WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY 3 OUT OF THE LAST 4 SEASONS TO REACH THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE..
ED I KNOW YOU MAY THINK MY POST IS LIKE READING A BOOK WOULD LIKE YOUR OPINION THANKS
MARK WEXFORD {Ed009's Note - I do think a mix of foreign and domestic players is of paramount importance; the thing that Arsenal have lacked above all else these past few seasons is grit, a few destroyers who won't hide when the going gets tough.}

Believable13 Unbelievable5

For some time I have believed that the key to success for Arsenal is the right blend of British & foreign players. Players such as Samba & Cahill, which benefit us enormously in the domestic competitions, whereas in Europe Vermaelen & Koscielny are more suitable. In the past under Wenger we had such a blend with British players such as Keown, Adams & Parlour, as well as excellent foreign players such as Henry, Vieira & Pires. I think the balance isnt right at present, no doubt our defence would benefit enormously from the likes of Baines, Cahill & Samba.

Man City want to put a quick bid for Nasri befor Man U can, deal worth £25 million which would include Adabyor (spelling) and £12.5 million cash - Just what we would need, another ACN player

Man U offer to include Burba and £10 mill - AW more likely to talk about this one as Burba would fit in the Arsenal style well

Not saying ether will happen.

Now 'lightweight' Clichy has gone, I would like to see us sign Lyon's Aly Cissokho to replace him. With Cahill & Samba added to our defence as well.
We could then put out the following two defences;
Sagna Cahill Samba & Cissokho
Eboue Djourou Koscieny & Vermaelen

I would alternate these players using Vermaelen as an option at left-back, as well as at centre back.

I would not use Gibbs at left-back, as he is far more effective in midfield, either central or on the left hand side. Ideally in a 4-4-2 formation, where Gibbs, if selected could double up with thew left back defensively & offer attacking options as well.

Squad;
Szczesny Fabianski & ? (new young keeper)
Sagna Eboue & Jenkinson
Sissokho (*)Vermaelen
Samba Cahill
Koscielny Djourou & (*)Vermaelen
Walcott Wilshere
Song Ramsey Frimpong
Fellaini Abu Diaby
Hazzard Mata
Van Persie Chamakh
Gervinho Arshavin

With the funds raised from selling Clichy, Denilson, Fabregas, Nasri, Squillaci, Bendtner, Vela, etc...

{Ed022's Note - See this management malarky is easy!! Simples!!}

Believable10 Unbelievable16

See now a new player has been mentioned in the media, a person changes his team to accomodate that guy. cissokho was in nobodys team until mentioned by the media.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont believe it is easy for one minute. However, just signing Jenkinson & selling Clichy wont help our cause Cahill & Samba are purchasable, even at the inflated fees they may cost. Fellaini, may be a bit more difficult, but Im certain the player would jump at the chance of moving to Arsenal, living in the capital & playing CL football. Gervinho sounds like he is coming & with the money raised by selling Nasri & Fabregas, we can surely prise the likes of Hazzard & Mata away from their clubs. Voila its easy... The difficult part will be selling the prima donas, such as Bendtner & Denilson Selling Squilacci is nigh on impossible

Agree0 Disagree0

A few set backs with this plan
1.Szczeny and fabianski are poor goalkeepers
2.Vermaelen if he comes back from his injuries half the player he was at the start will become the CB with other players rotating with him and new club captian
3.looking at the way you set the squad out walcott is in midfield wrong theo being pushed up too being a striker for the las few seasons
4.mata has made it clear he is not moving this season
5.hazzard is only getting a transfer this season with a clause for a 1 year long deal with his present club
6.And when the HELL has arsene ever ever ever played a 442
Sorry try again

Agree0 Disagree0

I am amazed at the last response .
1) Both are decent keepers, especially the younger Pole
2) I agree Vermaelen should play at CB, but we can use him as cover at LB
3) Walcott has regularly played as an attacking right-sided midfield player. The argument is that he should now be played up front.
4) Mata - can be bought at the right price & package.
5) Hazzard can be bought at the right price & package
6) Wenger played 4-4-2 until 2005, with huge success.

Agree0 Disagree0

The young keeper is James Shea BTW (if you were a proper fan you would know our reserves and under 18 etc)
eboue is now used in LMF hense Jenkinson being bought.
Gibbs will start as LB and rotate with a new signing.
TV5 will start alongside a new CB, Kos is backup.
Ramsey and Wilshire are the new MF with Nasri playing AMF, Frimpong will play the DCM with Song and like EVERY1 HAS ALREADY SAID Walcott will be more advanced.

and signings are up to the boss (however much he is isolating himself from us we have to just hope he makes the right choices)

Agree0 Disagree0

Tevez wants to go back home to argentina. his price tag of 50 million is not something alot of teams can afford. And no real madrid will not pay that for a 27 year old.

Real are interested in Neymar and Aguero in that order. Most likely target will be neymar.

Aguero poised to head to Juventus and Tevez if he does go will head to italy..

Either way if City do lose Tevez, it will be another big name to replace him, so dont fool yourself into thinking arsenal can have him.

Agree0 Disagree0

As it was never your beloved , how can you say goodbye

Agree0 Disagree0

Supporters like you make me sick you support the team through the good years and the bad years. you don't know the meaning of the word supporter.

Agree0 Disagree0

The facts support my point, no point in getting all ratty with me, because I'm the only one on this site speaking the truth, you can post crap about us signing benzema and the like, but deep down you all know it'll never happen, they should have moved Wenger upstairs to take over the accounts department a few years ago, because thats all he's concerned about. when is someone gonna tell him you have to speculate to accumulate....

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're saying goodbye then why check the responses to your posting? I've supported this club through the last thirty plus years and seen a lot of players come and go as well as a lot of ups and downs but the one thing that's stayed constant is that the club is still here. I'd say there are only three clubs in the country that wouldn't want to swap places with us and given that we've had the financial constraints of the new stadium over the past few years our consistent top four finishes are remarkable. Yes, we're short of players and could do with some experience but that will come this summer and with the financial fairplay rules being implemented next year Arsenal will be in a very strong position. If you want to support a club who will spend money to achieve short term success then look at how it panned out for Leeds. I know how I would prefer the club I support to be run.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you should be a little more patient. Peopla say its all about trophies...the truth is its about more than that...its about longevity of a business through a tough time. I agree we need trophies but trophies dont ALONE allow for a self sustainable club, take a peak at the spending some of other clubs and how much debt they are in..and they have trophies yet no guarantee of sustainability.

When the New Uefa Club Financial rules come in these clubs will need to balance the books whilst we at arsenal will be in a rather stronger position.

We definately need to spend and we will closer to end of July. We need players to help us get through the final 3rd of the season..thats when we crumble every season..the final stretch..previous to that we were strong.

Just my Opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was reminded recently of one of Marc Overmars earliest games for us away to Spurs. The pace and atmosphere caught him out and he went hiding for 45 minutes. At half time, Tony Adams pinned him against the wall and demanded honour be shown to the Arsenal shirt. Come 2nd half, Overmars sets up 2 goals and we win 2-1. This is what is missing these days and it's not something that can be bought in the transfer market. RvP away to Blackpool came close when he absolutely tore into Diaby for his pure laziness. It's why I think Robin should be captain. I agree that strikers inherently do not make good captains but he is now the senior member of the footballing staff on the pitch and importantly, getting back to the way Tony Adams was, he genuinely cares about our club. The players that are leaving will weaken us in terms of individual quality (apart from Clichy that is), but that may be made up in simple work ethic and commitment, the very core that so many have accused us of lacking...

Which brings me to my main point. After what Clichy said, and what Scholes has said, I think it's time we buttoned in as a group collective, offering quiet restraint combined with sheer will power that we are Arsenal and no longer is anybody going to spend all season praising our style of football only to then take a dump on us at the end. It's about time we all got in this together, players playing with an absolute desire to be Arsenal and supporters supporting. I admit I've spent the last few weeks uncharacteristically panicking about everything connected with us but so many comments in the press and from friends have engendered a spirit of, 'You know what? Support your team and opine on your team but when it comes to us, go and **** yourself.'. Whether it be kind words or mocking statements, it's all irrelevant now. Regulars who have read my previous posts will know I'm far from blind to all the problems at our club, but the time has gone to exasperate it.

Let these players leave the club. I cannot think of more incentive to become a true team again. We are Arsenal and it's about time we remember it.

Ajeno.
