just read a magazine and it said in it arsenal were looking at Demba Ba, is there any truth in this ed

VP.10 {Ed022's Note - No.}

Believable10 Unbelievable15

Why not any truth in it he would be a great signing {Ed022's Note - Demba Ba is a ticking time bomb, and his career could end at any moment due to his knee injury. It isn't going to go away, and it will end his career early. The question is when, not if. Arsenal know this and aren't willing to take a risk.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet well buy him for 20 million and his knee will blow up on the first day of training

Agree0 Disagree0

Ur an person to want that to happen
to any player or club.. stupid post

Ed if ars do not qualify for champions league.what do you think about the future of wenger and new signings {Ed022's Note - I'd say the quality in signing would decrease certainly, and I'd say it'd affect whether RVP would stay or leave.}

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Lol you guys are silly. I dunno why the quality of the signings would change at all, because Arsenal NEVER sign champions league players. The people we buy, often dont even have europa league football.....and seeing as podolski is already signed, I doubt we will see many more coming regardless of final position.

Agree0 Disagree0

It wouldnt effect r.v.p he just wants to win trophies with the club. he like any player that loves the club would wait till they qualify next season. {Ed022's Note - So not having CL football wouldn't bother RVP?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rvp is gone regardless of this years final position.

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP is gone £250,000 a week at city who would say no {Ed022's Note - I would... I wouldn't want to get 1 million pounds per month, it would make me so very sad.}

Agree0 Disagree0

In fairness, its not like we miss champs lge on a regular basis. This could be the first time in 15 yrs or whatever. So I'm not that fussed. People seem to forget that van Perdue has only had a good 18 months. The guy was forever injured and getting sent off regularly. I think he owes us for not flogging him when he was doing nothing for the club. I really don't think u can say how u wouldn't blame him for leaving. I would. How can u as a gooner be happy with a guy for jumping ship just when ur manager convinces u your a world class striker. And atsene was right !!

Goonerdazza

Agree0 Disagree0

Without Champion League football, Arsenal will need Wenger more than ever. If we are not in the CL, the quality of player we can attract is sure to decrease, so Wenger's sharp eye for diamonds in the rough will be all the more necessary.

See how more dangerous we were when we went 4-4-2? Ive had enough of this possession 4-2-3-1 formation keeping the ball alot doesnt mean we'll score goals fgs.

Alot of players were extremely below par today, cant say much else apart from that.

ramsey's tracking back to defend was disgraceful. He was playing along side song and meant to track back...numerous times you see him jogging back when norwich has a fast break counter attack....you think viera woould have just jogged back like that?? NO , HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SPRINTING SO FAST THAT THE NORWICH GUY WOULD BE s**tTING HIS PANTS WITH THE THOUGHT OF GETTING A HARSH TACKLE....soft players like ramsey do not put any sort of fear into the opposition...its ok to be a soft player if you have incredible skill to make up for it but im sorry ramsey is just way way way below par...i have no idea why wenger keeps starting him

Believable13 Unbelievable10

Hes Not A Dm Though the Person To Blame Was Song

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this is why we need a proper dm like viera, it is vital we get mvila

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree to an extent but you clearly have a prejudice towards Ramsey as he was by no means the only one. I don't think I've ever seen song sprint anywhere.
joeml

Agree0 Disagree0

Why people can't open their eyes is beyond me, song was NOT playing DM today Ramsey was, just watch the game Ramsey was consistently behind song that was for a reason. The pre-conceived idea that the midfield is always the same is wrong. Song i repeat was not playing DM today.

Bermy Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

The quality in the game went up when ramsey came off and Ox came on 100% improvment

Agree0 Disagree0

Against 'weaker' sides Wenger rotates the midfield three to maximise their attacking energy going forward, with rosicky predominately playing highest. one 'of the many' problems problems today was that norwich played with two in centre mids, who ramsey and rosicky covered.. so song pushed out from the achour role to press the game, then norwich hit long and the ball often ended up in the whole where song is usually positioned. time and again hoolahan escaped from rosicky or ramsey to end up in space, with the ball, where song would have previously been.

The problem with system today was that song often pressed the ball rosicky should have been pressing, and then rosicky who was marking a midfielder did not have the legs to cover the ground back. really rosicky should have been pressing but wasn't and there fitness told in that battle.
btw i am not fully blaming rosicky other players were at fault.. notably the reason why he couldnt cover the ground was because we were to stretched all over the park for larger periods.

CB

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end of the day...the point of that post was to explain how s**t Ramsey is....you would be a fool to say Ramsey is Top 4 material!! Everytime I watch him...he gives the ball away.....he is s**t!! My cousin is a Chelsea player and has started to watch Ramsey to see if what I was saying is true and he also believes Ramsey is Arsenal's Kalou...OUT OF PLACE!! J x

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey is such a weak link in our squad right now? He just doesn™t play the same kind of football. Arsenal are an attacking team and NEED to play FAST & FORWARD! And yet every time Ramsey™s on the ball he slows down play and more often than not goes backwards. It™s detrimental to our style and he needs to either buck his ideas up or get shipped out, sooner rather than later.
It™s no coincidence that our poor form as of late has mainly been in the games where he™s started.

wenger on ramsey:

He is going through a difficult period at the moment. But he will come off that stronger.

Believable15 Unbelievable13

Why is he still picking him then one player isn't worth the risk to finish 5th.

Agree0 Disagree0

So are the rest of your team Wenger. You created the dross. You don't deserve to be in the CL if you can't beat the likes of Wigan & Norwich at home. Take it on the chin, you created this apathy..

just listening to a lot of radio shows, and a lot of fans were blaming the ref....

Yes he was shocking for not awarding the pen, but honestly blaming the ref is clutching at straws....

norwich should of had a pen, ramsey was lucky not to have a second yellow, yossi kicked out at one of their players....

it wasnt the ref in defence for us. players are 100% to blame for this..

i take my hat off to holt and ruddy. I thought they were top draw!

Believable21 Unbelievable4

Well said. You can blame the ref all day long, but ultimately you need to learn to defend, and that with 5 minutes to go there is no need for our full backs to bomb forward. Where the f*** was Gibbs for the 3rd goal?

Agree0 Disagree0

You can blame him for not giving penalty he must be blind to not give 1 there was 3 very good claims for them in second half plus 1 for norwich 2

Wenger is the best manager in the league. We have the best squad in the league. We have plenty of players that can come off the bench and make a huge impact, almost never any injuries. Many big signings every summer. All the best players are so in love with Wenger that they always sign a new contract. ..Or? :)

Also proof that we need another EXP keeper. Shez will be awesome but the hype may be going to his head.

First goal was poor from him, 2nd was back luck, 3rd was a good finish but his starting position was shocking.

This is our worst defensive record ever in the prem. Surely bringing Adams in to shake up the defence isnt a bad thing?

For me personally that was one of the most painful arsenal games to watch. Everyone knew how much was riding on our run in and we dropped points to QPR, Wigan, Stoke and now Norwich. Why does our performance level change so much. If we don't get third it wont be down purely to this match the Wigan and QPR games for me were the main problems if we got 2 draws in those games 3rd would still be ours. Todays performance was disgraceful. Vermaelaen was terrible jackson made he was too aggressive and possitionally poor for the 3rd and holt bullied are defense. The referee was appalling Norwich should of had a pen and could of had another. But we should have definatley had two. How he missed the push on Van Persie i don't know his performance should be reviewed. It could have cost us Champs League and the funding that goes with it. Also now i feel Podolski will probably end up as a replacement for Van Persie.

I do understand people defending ramsey hes one of our own, young and he might regain his confidence and form but we always look sluggish with him on. We looked more direct when Chamberlain came on. (SHOULD HAVE STARTED, ONE OF OUR BEST PLAYERS YET NEVER GETS PLAYED)

Sczesney was bad today he looks so vulnerable when he kicks it out. Too many times he tries playing it out when he should just put his foot through it.

Gervinhio played like the player i thought he would be beating his man getting crosses in and creating chances but that final ball and shot is still lacking.

We could have won the game, They could have one the game. It was open fast paced. We were lucky and unlucky. It was a great game in terms of representing the Premier league and the neutral but it always seems to be us who is involved in these games shows we lack balance. Our attack is strong if we keep Van the man and with the addition of podolski we would be even more threatening.

I still think we need another couple of players a bk up GK ,a cb, a cdm, and a creative midfield backup. Then we would be a true force.

My personal picks.
GK : ? (Back up)
CB: Vertonghen
CDM : For me Fellaini but more likely M'villa
Another attacking option (sell bendter, chamakh,Vela) : Dempsey or Siggurdson or Sessegnon

I know most of these won't happen its just what i would like to happen and believe would make us great again.

This game just shows how badly we needed Arteta.
Nick.

Believable24 Unbelievable2

We should be in a position if a player is injured we can fill that position with some form of quality.
Wenger eventually gets one area right then another is weak, use to be are GK, then defense then up front then midfield.
Ever Since the invincibles we've always had one part of the team that is weak.

It's not the refs fault it's our shocking defending, that is why we will never be champions until we learn to defend properly. Don't expect any more signings wenger has hinted he will not be signing any one. No champs league and no RVP mid table next season lads if wenger don't spend. He should get rid of ay least nine of the squad but he won't, he keeps a player like diaby who will never play a full season for us.We won't win another trophy till we have a manager who is more interested in winning trophies than playing good football. I believe this should be wenger last season if he doesn't spend this summer but the wenger lovers are quite happy to never win atrophy again.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Easy tiger, wasn't everyone saying we would be mid-table this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical Arsenal article after laughing how Spurs lost an 11 point lead only to now realise the last laugh was on you. Spurs will certainly win their remaining fixtures against Aston Villa and Fulham and dont write off Newcastle who seem like a team in fire at the moment. Chelsea will then lose to Bayern in the Final and lets all hope Newcastle will join Spurs in the Champions League.

Arsenal have played brilliantly this season under Wenger with the limited squad they have. Robin Van Persie has been absolutely superb along with Szczesney, Vermaelen, Arteta & Sagna, but the rest of the team looks below Champions league level. Until Arsenal fans stop allowing the club to sell all theirs stars and waste the proceeds on mediocrity, the club will decline further over the next few years. Players like Squillacci, Koscielny, Diaby, Almunia, Rosicky, Santos, Djourou, Jenkinson, Frimpong, Gibbs, Mertesaker, Chamakh, Gervinho & Coquelin are simply not the level required to compete.

Congratulation to the board for the new stadium, but with the Top 4 Premiership finishes, Champions League campaigns, massive increased revenue from extra ticket capacity, the sale of highbury, the sponsorship revenue from Emirates and the the sale of over £100m of players in the last few years you have to expect more. If you actually follow the revenue streams for Arsenal FC since 2009/2010 you have sold Clichy £7m, Thomas £1.5m, Fabregas £35m, Eboue £4m, Nasri £22m, Traore £1.5m, Eduardo £6m, Simpson £1.2m, Adebayor £25m & Toure £16m. Infact the club has recieved over £40m more than it has invested in players and has also wasted significant money on average talent like Koscielney £10m, Mertesaker £10m, Gervinho £10.6m, Squillacci £4m & Santos £6.3m.

This is what happens if you trim £40m from players transfers, bank £45m from the premiership position over that period, Bank £60m from Champions league runs not to mention the revenue from tickets and sponsorship deal. In summary Arsenal FC have betrayed the supporters and are on the brink of a major disaster. With the short contract term left on Van Persie, the resale value will be tumbling each week. Should the unthinkable happen and Arsenal fail to achieve champions League football then you can expect a player of his ability to want to move which I think we would all hand on heart agree would be reasonable.

Be angry, be sad, be disappointed as you have been sold to the vultures. Wenger has proven he is simply an amazing manager with the resources the board has restricted him to, sadly he will probably become the scapegoat for the powers that be, and that will then be your darkest hour.

Good luck Arsenal and just hope the magpies don't steal your jewelry !!

The Oracle

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger should have been sacked two years ago. What a liability the man now is. The team can't defend and the squad is laughable inn terms of talent. Let him clear off to Real Madrid or some such club, where he would drag them down to our level. In all my 50 or so years of supporting Arsenal, I have never felt so frustrated as now.People like Song and his ilk should never ever have worn the shirt. I am really depressed and the next game up is the cup final, which of course our glorious leader treats with distain. At least the morose one has got the scousers something to cheer about, even if he is not my cup of tea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate if we continue to make excuses for Wenger with playing good football we wont get trohies with that. Its not a question of giving up its the fact

Agree0 Disagree0

Well it's lucky we have the board we do then isn't it? Wenger will be manager for years to come yet and when he does choose to leave he will make a short list for the board the choose from.

It's not all about spending big. Guardiola got it half right at barcalona, we have the other half right here. Only problem is Josep took over an already top side with all the players he could dream of waiting at his disposal. Once we can lure players in with days like 04 we can be the best.

What a game that was. I just hope it hasn't cost us too badly.

Shezza has a poor game, but we can't forget, he's only young, it's his first full season in the first team. He's not got years and years of first team experiance. So please don't slate him.

Ramsey didn't play to his potential so in hindsight hambo should have started, with Gerv on the left and Benayoun and Rosicky BOTH a head of Song this would have forced there midfield to sit further back allowing Song to have more space to pick a pass. Our two defensive mids (Song and Ramsey) were going nowhere together, we needed Song to sit deep and cover for the full backs and occasionally venture forward, with Rosicky and Benayoun sitting a head of him and if things get clogged, they can drop back to get the ball they also needed to work a lot harder to get back and defend (someting neither of them did).

Kosh played well I felt, even though the back four where quite shakey. Coquelin was brill after coming on and if Sanga had a niggle, Coquelin should have started anyway. Chamack was also very good when he came on, came close with two headers and played a few neat passes. Second half when we played with more attacking mids the whole game opened up and we where massively unlucky not to come out with a win.

Very entertaining match, but as I said, I just hope it doesn't cost us. I can see City winning/drawing with Newcastle but I fear Spuds will win agains Villa, but then drop points against Fulham.

We NEED 3 points against West Brom. Otherwise, well... We all know what will happen. Don't start bitching when we need your support most, get behind the team! COYG!

Fuming!
The reffere may have cost us a Champions League place. Robin Van Persie 30 goals in a league season (will talk more about that later), open goal a yard out. The ball heading towards his feet. No change in the path of the ball but somehow Van Persie ends up on the floor and the ball has not been touched by anyone. My Grandmother doesn't understand football, as well as losing her eyesight rapidly. She screamed Penalty at the top of her voice, yet a bald man, who presumably should have good eyesight and is employed by the FA to make at the majority of the time simple decisions. How much more simplistic does a decision have to be? It is like realising that the ball has gone out and for a throw in to be given. Yes, Norwich should have had a penalty which just shows how bad the Ref and his officials were. To be employed as a referee by the FA must be the easiest interview you will ever have. Fifa need to bring in video technology so that decisions like them can be reviewed immediately and cut out from our game.
Nevertheless Norwich played well today. Their first half was impressive with the combination between Jackson and Holt. This was more or less complicated by poor defending by Vermaelen and Koscielny. It wasn't just them two who had a poor first half. The midifield was nowhere, offering very little options for the man with the ball. Ramsey, yet again showed that he is not good enough to wear an Arsenal shirt let alone any team from the Premier Leagues shirt. Gervinho was wasteful in the first 45 minutes. With the lack of chances being created Van Persie dropped deeper and deeper leaving no option up top. Solution to this. Go back to the old 4-4-2 formation. Give Van Persie freedom to drift with one target man up there. Benayoun was excellent in the first half.
Second half we showed more intensity but Szezsney was poor. Oh so very poor. It was an Almunia-esque performance today. His confidence was knocked by the first goal which was a simple save for a Keeper of his quality. The backline infront of him was vulnerable and they probably looked better attackers than they did Defenders. The Midifield wanted the ball and with the introduction of Oxlade Chamberlain there was more of a threat to our attack. His injection of pace lifted the likes of Gervinho and Rosicky. Norwich began to sit deeper and deeper and chances became more frequent. This was how we should have started the game! Keeping the pressure on as soon as Benayoun's curling shot nestled in that far corner.
Overall I thought we showed fighting spirit in the Second Half but we were poor. We got lucky and we were unlucky. Does it level its self out. Now, I would say no. Biased? Maybe. Come the final whistle of the West Brom game next week (or even worse, the final whistle of the Bayern vs Chelsea game) my opinion might change. For the next 26 and a bit hours I will become a Villa and Manchester City fan. Despite all the stick we give Nasri I pray to God he does us a favour tomorrow.

F**king Sh1te! Why can't this season just end!

Europa League is looming large now. Jack better get his check book out because he's given 3k to charity. They will finish above is now, we have to accept it.

If we're in the Europa, it's bye bye VanPersie. Need to try and beat West Brom, then hope ManCity and Bayern can do us a favour.

Argued all year that we need more than 2 or 3 signings. It's quite clear that team needs a good 80-90 million spent on it.

All we can do now is hope for the best!

Believable9 Unbelievable5

We can't give up now. If we do, it's the whole season wasted. We need to get behind the team and show our full support. All we have to do is beat West Brom. Now I really understand why podolski has been signed. He would've put those chances away.
Van Persie as good as ever, everyone played well, even chamakh had a decent game.
We got robbed, should've had the three points.
But what really surprised me was norwich's bad sportsmanship. They were time wasting, angry little f***wits who really got on my nerves and pretty much all the respect I have for them is gone.
We won't finish third, all those annoying fans who think we have had third wrapped up for weeks, that's what happens when you get cocky and take your foot off the pedal.
Europa league next season, all we can do now is hope and pray that bayern munich beat Chelsea in the CL final.
Whatever happens I'll support arsenal, and hopefully you all do too.

Norwich were incredible, they also had penalty decisions go against them, and they were the more fresh side for 90 minutes. Im an Arsenal fan aswell, but there is no point in blatantly lying just because your frustrated with the result.

Im sure wenger had something to say about it, but his timid touchline displays are starting to irk me. Storming off down the tunnel at the end of the game isnt the message the players need, its him screaming at them at 80 minutes when the game is ours to win.

we have good defenders and yet time after time we produce that sort of awful defending , why? our style of play is always going to leave us vulnerable but we need a holding midfielder badly! gilberto has never been replaced apart from briefly by flamini , song is meant to be that player but is usually the furthest forward midfielder! as his constant assists ( and again today ) prove , not saying song shouldnt play as i think he makes a good attacking midfielder , but hes no holding midfielder and we end up getting over run on the break , we should make our priority a holding midfielder in the summer or maybe coquelin is the answer? , and on another note with cl qualification out of are hands now we cant expect rvp to stay iff were not in the cl next season , worried gooner wayne.

Can anyone explain why we never play until the second half? It has cost us Champions League football. Arsenal only have ourselves to blame, whilst we played well in the second half we didn't play as well as we can or should for 90 minutes. Song/Ramsey for their second goal didn't even look like they cared!

Personally I give players benefit of the doubt but we always look far better when Ramsey goes off, I really can't remember any contribution from him than slowing down our attack and forcing our players to turn back just collect his pass! I've backed him to come good until now but now I question why Arsene can't see what everybody else is seeing.

Cannot understand how the Ox didn't start today. Again it comes down to this nonsense 'seniority' complex of Wenger's. If it makes sense that in order to improve our attacking play, we had to take Ramsey off and bring on the Ox, then surely it is equally as logical that our standard of attacking play will be better of he started in the first place? He tracks back better too...

Show all that it's noisy fortress and a place for big names to play, sign up and become legends for current and future Gooners!!

Right now this is shocking. The fans are great but Norwich could be 6-1 up right now, this is a disgrace.

Well you got the amount of goals right! We need a man city win tomorrow or we can say bye bye to champions league football, robin van persie and any future big signings
