Interesting to see how Giroud has split opinions okay.

I thought he played well up front today and helped out all over the pitch.

The extremes were - lovely lay off to Rambo who should have scored Vs a stupid shot when we were holding on with minutes to go when he should have either gotten into a better goal scoring position or held up play to waste time.

A good first season from him and if we can add a fast goal threat up front then some excellent options next season.

Honestly I sticked a long time with him, saying he has to adapt to the pl and so on, BUT I always take an exact look at his performances: they are awefull really often. He is not just wasting his own chances in an enourmous amount he is also killing dozens of chances with loosing the ball to easily or making awefull passes. Don't get me wrong, I like him and he has his great moments, but he is just too bad for a first choice striker for such a big club.

I don't know if its just because i'm an arsenal fan, but I like him. he has moments of brilliance, for example the goal against reading that is seriously hard to do. and wenger pulls off these bargains. and I think he will be better next season. also seems to be involved with the build up a lot, gets quite a few assists. I think a few winger is needed and podolski to move upfront to provide competition.

but then sometimes I think. how did you miss that, Francis geffers would have scored that back in the day, and that's saying something! he seems to be missing more than he puts in and its worrying sometimes.

i'll stick with him, risk being ridiculed. but I think he will get better as time goes on.

I like the guy - first season is difficult in this league, especially for a forward -
i remember Drogba's first season, man he was toss - but damn once he found his feet he was unplayable.

I'd say he's had a good season and I think he will only get better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not a fan of giroud because he makes absolutely no effort for the team unless the ball is played to his feet. no defending or tracking back, and no pressure on defenders. He is basically a spectator for large amounts of a game, and against a top side like man utd, he is nowhere near good enough. I noticed that unless the ball is outwide being crossed in, he doesn't like to recieve the ball. he is always looking to pass the ball to someone, when another striker would look for a shot (like van persie).

Decent first season. but we need better.

Agree0 Disagree2

A for effort but C- for goals scored. I'm old school - I judge a striker by how often he hits the back of the net. Reminds me of Kuyt for Liverpool - lots of huffing and puffing, but no end product.

Agree1 Disagree0

Daniel I think your reply is ridiculous. no effort? you have watched obviously the wrong player. have you seen how he goes to aerial duels? he's not the fastest player but he does block lines to put pressure on defenders and for me he's good at anticipating passes.

his link up play is brilliant yet you think it's a negative thing. do you remember podolski's goal against montpellier? or gibbs against swansea? bet you wanted him to turn and have a go rather than providing a perfect assist. come on if he likes to pass with the first touch it doesn't mean he doesn't like to receive the ball.

one thing you're right he's quite anonymous against big teams. but then again it's his first season.

Agree1 Disagree0

All this slating of Giroud, for me, is wholly unnecessary. The guy has scored 16 goals in all competitions (that's more than Tevez, Ba and Aguero) and when he's not scoring himself, he is virtually always in a position to help someone else. It's his first season in an Arsenal shirt and I defy anyone to come into this squad with Van Persie's shadow looming over them and do a better job.

Ed why on earth did we not sign M'baye Niang? We had him on trial ib the summer and as far as I know he impressd. He was available for pretty cheap and he's done very well this year for Milan for someone so young.

Cheers {Ed029's Note - It is simple. A number of clubs were interested and he wanted to go elsewhere.}

He has major attitude problem.

That's the difference between football manager and managing a football club.

Wenger didn't want him its simple as that.

Agree1 Disagree0

I thought he rejected us, am I wrong there Ed?

Agree2 Disagree0

More chance of winning things at Milan, even though they are in debt (and lots of it)

if its true wenger didn't want him there's a reason, and its probably a good one.

maybe yaya sanogo is coming in and he sees more potential there.
