just thought i'd share a few things I've been hearing;
firstly higuain is a done deal, fee, personal terms and apparently the medical have been completed, it will/should be announced on wed I hear.
another thing I've heard is that we are going to make a second bid for grenier, around the 10mil mark, should also be reported some time next week (offer (maybe signing also)).
mattias ginter is being looked at for CB, hence why coquelin was sent there on loan to try and ease the deal I guess.
a wide forward is also being looked at, and jovetic was mentioned as a target.
the cm/cdm position is an uncertain area, apparently wenger wants a arteta style player hence his admiration of gundogan. this is why an out and out dm hasn't been signed. targets are rumoured to be illaramendi, bender (ofcourse), Gustavo, pogba and surprisingly cesc.
not saying this is going to happen, but next few weeks should reveal the truth or just rumour.

Go along with Higuian and Grenier and both next week would be fine.
Ginter looks promising, but very young and I still think we might be pleasantly surprised at Miquel yet.
Bender and Pogba will not be available and Illaramendi is off to Madrid.

Mate
Staff and players at the club don't know this s***!!
Who are you the fly on the wall? Or a rubbishter?

FM like I said, I'm not sure if any of it is true, but the person who told me this is training as a sports journalist and has certain links. Don't think it's directly with the club, but does get certain information.
Try reading before replying mate.

Nice post Waq. you seem to have a credible source for this info (although we all know that journalists can make a lot of stuff up lol) certainly seems more realistic than the usual; my friend's, brother's aunt's ex-husband's dog and the I bumped into Rooney etc. stories we get.
I hope this is true. I certainly believe that Higuain will be announced this week at some point and would like to see Grenier follow him to the Emirates shortly after.

I personnally think we should try to sign Illaramendi before Hig, rather than pay for Hig first thus giving RM the funds to make the purchase. Get Illamendi on board first. Brill player and exactly what our great club needs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Illaramendi would be a great signing, shame that he seems to be en route to Madrid.

ppl keep calm about higuian he will sign next week madrid just trying get a bit more money out of arsenal but nearlly there

Believable55 Unbelievable26

100% agree

this will get done i'm sure we just need another million here or there.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's getting that stingy manager of ours to part with that extra million though!

Kent Gooner

Agree0 Disagree3

It's not our side that the problem has been caused from it's Madrid's. Florentino Perez is apparently wanting 30m Euro's now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pay the damn money. The club wanted 24m for RVP, Manchester United coughed up. Why can't we do the same?

Agree1 Disagree0

The spurs don't seem to have any problems
Wrapping up a deal for a player
Arsenal need a kick up the arse to get things done

Agree1 Disagree0

Wenger just pay the extra few million and get the lad on board before he is signed up by someone else.

I don't know why he is so worried, he will make the extra money back in a matter of days when Arsenal products have Higuain's name all over them!

Agree1 Disagree0

City are close to buying Negredo for £20 million plus, Real Madrid are saying if Negredo is worth that then Higuain is worth much more.

Gervinho on his way to OM. Who will be bought into his place? Maybe Grenier?

Believable53 Unbelievable14

Podolski plays there so can ramsey.

Agree0 Disagree1

Playing Ramsey there is a poor choice. Podolski played more games than Gervinho last year so the addition of Grenier to replace Gervinho as another attacking option makes sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

We got at least 3 people that can play that position. 2 off the bench at any given time.
I'd hate to see him go because he is one of the few players that actually try's to take someone on instead of passing it back to the cb's.

Agree1 Disagree0

Chamberlain, Walcott even Poldolski do that with a better end product. He can leave and we have Gnarby who can feature mee in the first team now

Agree1 Disagree0

I really hope this is true. We need world class players and he just isn't!
Dee guns.

Agree0 Disagree0

Theres a lot of options from the academy that could move up to replace him, and can probably do it at his level.

eisfeld, gnabry, ansah or akpom would be nice to see.

Agree1 Disagree0

Please let Gerv leave. Him and his giant forehead are terrible and he is hindering the development of the Ox.

Not stating its true but the Guardian are reporting Higuain is after all set to complete. He is now reporting the Higuain deal is done 3 years 100k per week. At this rate though 'who knows' but Lowe is good.

(Sid Lowe) reliable journo.

It was posted by the Guardian at 11:30pm. Another twist.

Saw Sid Lowe on espn press pass friday night saying RM want a little more money but deal will be done soon.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd doubt we'd sign a player of his quality on a 3 year deal, because if we did we'd have to renew his contract next summer under our new contract policy

Agree1 Disagree2

I agree, if it is in the Guardian, then it is worth repeating.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Higuain was going to sign for Arsenal it would have been done already.

Agree1 Disagree4

I do believe he will sign but its just typical arsenal dragging their feet. I just find it strange that no other clubs are in for him leading me to believe that the deal has been done but just not announced. Either that or it's just not going to happen and arsene wenger is being a complete a*** nal

Kent Gooner

To the poster who said about signing a player on a three year contract.

We got Theo to sign a three year contract in January.

Obviously you'd want Higuain on a long term (5 year) contract but wouldn't you rather he just signed?!

If it is for three years then we renegotiate next summer after he's banged goals in for fun and won us a trophy. We then raise his salary from £100k to say £115-£125k a week when we are even stronger financially and in line with FFP.

Bottom line. Just get him on board!

Greeny

Agree3 Disagree0

Fully agree with Greeny as long as we get the player signed up we can give him a new improved contract when we want. He will sign though we should just wait and be patient, any deals to be done i. e. Fellaini, Grenier, Higuain and Cesar will be sped up to try and have these players in the first team before our tour. Wenger wants his new additions to have a full pre-season with the club and their new teammates.

Agree0 Disagree0

We didn't pay 23 million for theo though surely we won't pay all that transfer fee for just a 3 year contract
