My source tells me that we are in talks with a German Midfielder
89'gooner

Believable23 Unbelievable11

Probably Holtby But I'd Want More.

Agree0 Disagree0

You sources have never been right, so this is just more BS!

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

Its Lewis Holtby!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed ^^
BR

Agree0 Disagree0

Jupp Heynkes says he is flattered by our interest

Agree0 Disagree0

Youve heard Holtbys interview on talk sport and now you have posted that so if he does sign you can say i told u so

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt happen to beLewis holtby?

Wouldn't happen to be when he was interviewed by talk sport?

Don't tell you're source I know, he might not tell you anything again.
If your going to plaugerize other sites/peoples/shows material, at least admit it

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Holtby was talking on Talk Sh*te yesterday. Another player who feels 'flattered' to be linked to a big PL club.
That is all I've heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

I watched Holtby 2 years ago. really good player at that age. more or less like Wilshere

Agree0 Disagree0

There hasnt been any contact just an interview on talksport where his word were twisted by adrian dumbdumb
still wouldnt mind him!
bs18

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah probably some more bs, but likely to be lewis holtby but doubt we are in talks he's only holiday, but could also be goetze you never know

Agree0 Disagree0

Is your source German as well? Is he called Heinz?
AYoungGunner

Agree0 Disagree0

IT IS HOLTBY. HE'S BIGGED UP ARSENAL

Arsenal are in contact with Aymen Abdennour. If everything goes according to plan, a deal will be announced after the Euro's. Fee rumoured to be around £10m and wages of £45k.

Ben X.

Believable11 Unbelievable17

What your source?
Yes we where after him till he signed a new deal

Agree0 Disagree0

10 mil for a player from Toulouse? I doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Abdennour is quality, strong, reads the game well, good in the air, good on the ball, only 22 years old and plays in a defence that are consistently difficult to score against.

We paid approaching 10million for Koscielny so I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for around that price.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

My source, I'm not so sure they would like to be named on the Internet.

I wasn't informed of his new contract so it can't be a big deal, probably a performance based pay rise.

It doesn't matter where the player is from, a club will demand what they deem a fair.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would the Euros effect the timing of his signing?... he's Tunisian.

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal will be announced when Arsenal feel it's the right time to do so, I was told it will be after the Euro's do that's what I will belive. But, if the contents of the deal are made public by various respectable sources then it will probably be announced around then, note the Podolski deal.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can he play all across the back?
Ibster

Agree0 Disagree0

What does dis mean for gibbs n santos?

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player, made team of the year in France. !0mln sounds about right, as he was valued clsoer to 5mln about 6 months ago.

However, will Wenger pay 10mln for this player...

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Abdennour's best position is centre back but he can play left back too. He'll be providing cover for Gibbs and Santos rather than directly challenging them for a place in the team.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Djourou out. this guy in. thats it

Agree0 Disagree0

We have Koscielny, Vermaelen, Santos & Gibbs who all play on the left hand side of the defence, so I doubt very much that we would consider signing yet another left-sided player, the same went for Vertonghen. It is far more likely that we will try & sign a right-sided defensive player, to replace want-away Djourou and provide cover at right back whilst Sagna is out injured & as back up for Mertesacker on the right-hand side of the CB pairing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather have yanga-mbiwa than him but he'll be ok i suppose.

Sebastian Giovinco to replace the outgoing Arshavin

Believable23 Unbelievable23

Apparently we've been interested in him for ages, since he was about 21, I wanted him to join before his move to Parma on co-ownership, he's had a great season though, and I'd be happy if he joined!

But doesn't being co-owned complicate things?

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be great but might not happen as D said due to co-ownership

Agree0 Disagree0

If a player is joint owned, you need to make an offer to both clubs and for them to both accept it, before he can move anywhere. I know its common sense, but I thought hey, post anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's simply not built for the premier league.
AG

Agree0 Disagree0

Aside from the joint ownership thing, Giovinco's price tag would be way too high. Barca are said to be interested and Giovinco wants to move to Camp Nou so even if we did fork over the money for this guy, the Catalan buzzards would be circling from day one.

No way this will happen.

-Gooner Curmudgeon

Agree0 Disagree0

Podolski is our new lw so why would wenger buy another?? i can deffo put this one to bed. he isnt coming.

Agree0 Disagree0

Football is rarely common sense, for your proposal to happen, giovinco is worth about 15-20 million, say we offer 15m, both teams will get a percent equal to the amount they own in the player, do if they both have 50% then they'll get 7.5, but If it works out at...say 75/25 then one team will get 11.25m the other gets 3.25m, which would never be worth the sale, and if what you say is right, they'll just refuse and deal over, you'll find it usually involves the club which owned the player INITIALLY, will either have and exercise a clause to buy back the players rights, or they will sell out-right to the other club, for a pre-arranged, or to be arranged fee, the club that then owns the player outright has the ability to sell the player on.

There was a rumour that juve were going to buy his rights back off of Parma and then use him for either:

A: keep him to replace del Piero

B: sell him now he's hit his prime

C: use him in a swap deal for RVP as we're interested in the "atomic ant"

A+B I read over t'internet, C is one of those I read on a not so trustworthy source, a whole ago, but it got me thinking!

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Giovinco probably wants to come back to Juve pretty bad after the season they've had, and almost certainly would prefer not to leave Italy. In the event he is sold, his preference would definitely be Spain, especially if Barca is involved.

I can see his co-ownership being cleared up this summer, but I really can't see him moving to the Premier league under any reasonable circumstances.

Also, I think he's a bit of a luxury and would break the balance of the midfield three, being more of an Italian style trequartista/inside forward than a creative midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

^clearly not a fan of the premier league. Delusional pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

apparently arsenal have made a bid for pedro according to someone @ justarsenal. would be good but doubt it's true

Believable13 Unbelievable28

I really do hope this is true

Agree0 Disagree0

Great player, would love him at Arsenal. somehow I doubt Barcelona would sell him, unless it involves a swop.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is looking followers.. Plus the website just arsenal isnt very good

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Vilanova would willingly sell anyone who understands the old system so well, given that he'll most likely want to transition in a slow and structured way from Pep's blueprint. Pedro is too important to the squad and Barca have too many other urgent positional priorities to be replacing wide forwards this summer.

I think a move for Keita, Adriano, or Affellay is much more likely as their roles in the system are in flux and better or cheaper replacements are plentiful. On that note, we could really do with Affellay and I hope that deal comes good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just arsenal link 10 players a day with arsenal so don't believe what you read on there

Just a note about the recent RVP rumours regarding Juventus.

As far as I'm concerned when asked about Juventus he rightly responded they are a "great team".

How else would he respond if asked directly about any other top European side?

The amount of speculation this has caused is laughable. Put simply, no one knows what will happen bar RVP, Wenger and Gazidis - and even then I think it is still up for negotiation.

But the uncertainty involved means we get daily rumours from all sports pages who simply know as much as we do at this stage - nothing

I am hopeful that he resigns. Gazidis has pledged to try and make this a productive window so for us Arsenal fans lets hope he is true to his word.

rGoon

Believable23 Unbelievable8

I hope you mean re-signs (as in signs again) rather than resigns which in everyday parlance means quits the job.

Small point but a vital difference.

CLOCKENDCLOCKENDGIVEUSAWAVE

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha^ I was gonna say the same.

As for gazidis, he said last year that he would be making steps to improve arsenal over a productive summer. The first things he did was sell clichy nasri and cesc. Then we loaned out bendtner and retained chamack.

Do you really want to wait untill deadline day to see who we bring in? believe me, thats what is going to happen again.

Agree0 Disagree0

He said the same last summer

Agree0 Disagree0

I was in Sicily last week. All the talk was about the match fixing, the Italian Euro squad and ... Juve hoping to sign RvP ... was on all the sports stations (Rai, Sky etc.) and in all the papers ... they really are trying to lure him ... guys I spoke to in the bar thought he will sign for Juve after the Euro's ... I hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL you are right - i did mean re-sign not resign

rGoon

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed - if you have a sec can you change "resigns" to "re-signs"

I have learnt from my mistake :)
rGoon

Agree0 Disagree0

North bank, north bank give us a wave

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think Gazidis & Arsenal are leaving it till late to anounce RvPs dicission so us season ticket holders renew before they tell us they are selling RvP

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course. Same with cesc.

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP to re-sign & Gazidis to resign = Perfect summer!

N.Wales Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

No, i don't think its about selling season tickets, have you seen the waiting list for them

Ashman

Agree0 Disagree0

I personly think RVP will go. Silence is the reason, If he was staying it would give us all a lift, season tickets would be renewed and future signings would be keen to come. What is there to gain from not announcing it? apart from maybe strikers fees being lower if they beleive they are coming to Arsenal to play with RVP rather than as a replacement, AJT

Is there any chance of Pastore coming to arsenal? I would love to see him at the gunners {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Joined psg last summer so unlikely to move

Agree0 Disagree0

Too expensive. there are similar players out there with lower price. wenger wont buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

People keep saying both park and chamakh should be sold but i think selling chamakh is a better option. Think about park played 6 games in the past season, we won't know about his quality unless he plays at least 25-30 games in the next season. having said that I think keeping chamakh too is a possiblity, give him up to january and move on then, who knows he may decide to turn up to pre-season to change his arsenal career rather than smoke shisha whilst his team mates are working hard trying to get results

Believable13 Unbelievable16

Have a word mate? They're both s**t and the quicker they're kicked out of arsenal the better. Over 100 grand a week in wages for a pair of strikers that couldn't hit a barn door! Good riddance ASAP!!

Agree0 Disagree0

You havent thought about that it might be a reason park only got 5-6 games last season? chamakh may be good enough but park isnt, preseason will decide their future

Agree0 Disagree0

In case you didnt know park has to be sold cause he has to go back to his country to join the army
its a law they have that every guy from there has to do at least 2 years in the service so he has to go unfortunetly

Agree0 Disagree0

^^ I think you'll find Park has been allowed to put off his service for 10 years. Please correct if I am wrong. So he doesn't have to be sold.

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

@kermit, you're not wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^^
You are partially correct, he has been allowed to defer his national service, but not too sure as to the length of time!

Agree0 Disagree0

@kermit fair enough your right im wrong id love to see him play more he looks like a proper good talent

Agree0 Disagree0

Park has already deferred his service, which made him look very bad in Korea and was part of the reason - aside from his lack of appearances - that he can't get a call up to the national team.

There's a rumor that any SK Olympian who wins a medal will be excused from service, but the chances of Park getting into the Olympic team was ruined by his invisibility this season. For that reason alone he should be sold - he had every reason to push for playing time and excel this season but still couldn't adjust, and now that he has been burned bad by his choice to walk away from Lille next season his bitterness and indifference could make him a completely useless squad member. As a fan I can only pray that he is miraculously picked for London and then SK pull a legendary silver medal out of their collective nether regions.

Agree0 Disagree0

25-30 games for Park? Just so after that you can realise that he is completely average? I dont mind keeping him or Chamakh as long as they are backup and are not actaully going to figure in the first team. We should definetily sell one of them though, at least!

Arsenal are in talks with Argentina midfielder Lucas Biglia but face stiff compition with Real Madrid with a fee around £8million

Believable19 Unbelievable15

We already know that thanks mate

yoo yoo guys,
I am a arsenal academy U16 player and yesterday afternoon i went to the treatment room and saw Bacary Sagna. He told me that RvP is happy at Arsenal but will listen to offers. Also he is in contact with M'villa and Grouid. M'villa said to him that he is happy were he is. However, Grouid is hoping arsenal up their offer because he would love the chance to play for us. He also told me that he would love to see Gotze and Affelay come!!
What do You think Ed?? {Ed022's Note - M'Vila and Giroud are interesting Arsenal as we have discussed for some time now.}

Believable20 Unbelievable18

He is in Dubaï so how did you talk to him yesterday?

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL - this is simply not true... Good try though. :)

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Bacary and his wife are on holliday in Dubai.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah whatever

Agree0 Disagree0

I see half term is upon us. Go outside and play, it's better for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bacary sagna is in dubai

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol ed take note of the ip its clearly a lie, as Bacary is in Dubai...

Agree0 Disagree0

Bac is getting treatment in dubai, you muppet, you can't have spoken to him directly anyway that is

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I can confirm this. My cousin's boyfriend's sister's auntie's father's dog is actually a friend of Bacary Sagna, and Bac has told him as well!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bacary is on holiday m8, nice try though

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on his holiday's mate,so I don't know who you were talking to.
Braintreegooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty good effort and creative

Agree0 Disagree0

Though Bacary was in Dubai!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats interesting as sagna is in dubai right now

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol so much s**t M'Vila is done deal all but confermed why are you talking crap

Agree0 Disagree0

This is lies i played for the arsenal academy as a youngster and the 1st team have there own Areas (gym, pool, treatment room) so there is no chance that you went in there as they are very strict about it
dan

Agree0 Disagree0

M vila is not a done deal he wont go arsenal

this is my first rumour, saloman kalou is very close to signing, he is van persie old strike partner at feyenord and good friend off the pitch, also yann m'vila is very close too.

catalan gooner

Believable19 Unbelievable26

Kalou is gone to schalke

Agree0 Disagree0

Shalke already sighned him

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasn't he is in discussions with Arsenal, spurs and schalke

Agree0 Disagree0

Well guys if you really believe he has sighned for Schalke then i suggest you gather every penny you can muster up and have a bet on sky bet because Arsenal are 1/1 fav to sign him and Schalke are 3/1 so if you really believe this and know this then go and make some easy money. I personally like Kalou and hope he does sign for us never given a chance at Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bs, kalou is close to schalke

Agree0 Disagree0

He played for chelsea end of season and was awful as always

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you Cesc Fabregas!?!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2012 02:13:25
I have a reliable source which says that Arsenal have almost completed the signing of Yann M'Vila. It won't be announced until after the Euros. On French TV after the France vs Estonia Game, Wenger said this about M'Vila: our defensive midfielders at Arsenal are attacking midfielders.

Ed, are Arsenal in talks with any other team? And is it true that we had a bid rejected for Mario Gotze? {Ed002's Note - Are Arsenal in talks about any other team about what? My opinion on Goetze has been shared enough already.}

Believable18 Unbelievable11

Ed you need to stop being so harsh on people's posts {Ed022's Note - How was that being harsh? 002 gets asked this question on a daily basis and it can be extremely frustrating mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta agree with wenger, song and wilshere are both more attacking minded players, the number of assists song gave last season was amazing considering where he plays, we need a proper cdm, m'vila is the man, playing him along side wilshere/song can allow one of them to push on and attack as they like, knowing they have cover in m'vila. As usual wenger very discreet in what he says, so we can only hope

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard from a journo mate M'Vila was "very keen" to join Arsenal a month or so ago even when our CL qualification was in doubt. I watched him in a France friendly. He reminded me a LOT of Diaby, but a fit version.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Arsenal fans Robin Van Persie is on his way out to Italy which the club is Juventus and Robin said that Juventus are great and I would love to move there true story

Agree0 Disagree0

We have to accept that while we are still at the front of the queue - there is nothing stopping audacious late bids from Real/Man City/Milan, etc....

This is always the risk of buying players after a big competition; they get more attention and their prices are inflated.

I will happily settle for Capoue instead of a 30mln fee for M'Vila (just to beat out Man City)!

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

According to sources in manchester, m'villa was set on joining arsenal but man utd have tabled an offer unexpectedly and its now between the emirates and old trafford for him next year with his agent favoring a move to man utd

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^ed, can you please ban these juve fans from posting?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2012 02:03:26
Out of every realistic transfer that arsenal has been linked with who do you lot think is the most likely & the one you hope would go through?

For me its Afellay & Llorente, I see m'vila as more & more unlikely

Believable10 Unbelievable15

Afellay has just come back from injury so will surely want to prove himself at Barcelona before considering leaving and Llorente I don't believe will leave Spain. If he does it certainly won't be for arsenal. Despite having a year left on his contract he will be too expensive.

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

Llorente is much more unlikely than M'villa mate, if we're getting another striker, which is doubtful unless RVP goes, I'll bet on it being Giroud.

D

Agree0 Disagree0

M'Villa
Afellay
Mbwia

*But I think we will get 2 of the 3 listed above

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with u mate. M'villa is not cumming = if he does we will lose song!! sum fans underestimate song but when he goes we will realise wat we have let go

Agree0 Disagree0

Llorente not coming

Agree0 Disagree0
