I Heard that Sahin is almost a done deal hope we keep song though he was good last season

Believable70 Unbelievable34

If Song want to leave, let him , no point keeping players that are not committed to the course. He was good last season because Arteta gave him the platform to play, not as good as Hleb, Keita, Yaya Toure, Mascherano hence will not get games. Good luck to him !

Agree0 Disagree1

I have a feeling he is staying at madrid or heading to another club, I felt this was a plan B for Cazorla... (I hope I am wrong).

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon he will stay at Madrid as well. He always said he wanted to stay and fight for his place. If he feels his form is good in pre-season he'll probably take his chances with jose mourinho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billybob
You hope he is coming to Arsenal. failing that he may stay at Madrid or move to another club.
You may well be right!

Now that the Santi Cazorla deal is finally announced, expect us to make a new bid for M'baye Niang. The bid will be around £6m plus add ons that could take it to £7.5m.

I am also informed by a friend that despite more talks the deal for Sahin is still off, and we are still on track to sign Yann M'Vila. Not sure how reliable this friend is but I suppose we'll see.

--Ryan

Believable18 Unbelievable74

I do not know with niang, but we probably wont sign mvila as wanyama is cheaper and as we already have made an offer for wanyama ncobtrast to mvila.

TF itk

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that Wanyama signed a new four year deal at Celtic? In which case he wouldn't be cheaper than M'Vila. The fee for the player and the personal terms are all agreed in principle already.

--Ryan

Agree1 Disagree0

Wenger blew the M'vila deal, trying to be smart and knock the price down, cos the player was "too big a personality off the pitch".

Arsenal's talks with Nuri Sahin have broken down and he is now likely to go to Liverpool. Wenger is eying Kaka as an alternative as he is also available for a similar price. Kaka has also been told by Mourinho that he is not needed at the Bernabeu.

Believable15 Unbelievable105

I believe that Sahin talks have broken down, we are definitely over-recruited in midfield already. Also Mourinho's relationship with Rodgers will help push him towards Liverpool.

However where is your source for Kaka? He wont want to come to England and we wont pay his wages, he'll end up somewhere in Italy or Brazil if he does move

Agree0 Disagree0

Looooool sahin to liverpool XD {Ed035's Note - My thoughts exactly

Agree1 Disagree0

Rubbish, two different types of players...milan are showing interest subject to wages....read the marca website....

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember the lazy Russians down the road

Exo

Agree0 Disagree0

How can this rumour have 6 agrees? It's laughable! Sahin to Liverpool? That club at the moment are trying to waste £15m of Joe Allen- talented player but that's about £6m too expensive for a lad who has literally achieved and won nothing and has never played on the world's greatest club stage. I rate Allen very highly indeed, however not £15-17m high like Liverpool are haggling over with Swansea, that's just a joke. Sahin talks have not broken down- it's just gone quiet, which means we're probably at the final stages of finalising the deal. That's just a guess but still. Why would we sign Kaka instead of Sahin? Two different positions no?

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaka is one of the top ten best paid players in the world, arsenal would not pay his wages

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish, does not like scouse land .loves gunners set up new recent sighnings, plus rvp may yet remain,as talks with utd broke down

Agree1 Disagree0

Could see this happening, anything but another mvila rumour!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sahin to liverpool.. ill tell that joke at work tomorrow.. will defo get some laughs!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sahin to Liverpool boys, it's gonna happen .... :)))

Agree0 Disagree0

What a stupid rumour! OP probably doesn't even know that Kaka's wages will bankrupt Arsenal....the guy earns a ridiculous amount which is precisely the reason deterring AC Milan (his favored destination were he to leave the Bernabeau) from re-signing him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have u ever even seen sahin play? different sort of player to kaka so u cant compare them or view kaka as an alternative, u been playin to much fm and fifa! and thr only reason sahin is available is he wants first team football, u think he will wal into our 11? whos place is he taking? kala deal...... ur dreaming mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

Another wind up merchant. Sahin loan is still on according to many reports. The deal had nothing to do with Song.

Serge Gnabry in arsenal squad 2 face cologne

Believable52 Unbelievable6

Who is that never herd of him

Agree0 Disagree1

Great prospect, just a bit young.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where does he play

Agree0 Disagree1

For Christ sake why don't you study the kids we have instead of looking at possible signings, this kid has been getting rave reviews for past 12 months, get em in that's why we have em surely, sorry for calling you Shirley

Agree3 Disagree0

All you have to do is Google him and you'll find that he's a youth player

Agree1 Disagree0

Squad not been announced yet so unless your arsene wenger how would you know??

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last post ^^^ Gnabry is with the squad in Cologne and will play a part against Koln FC, so stop getting narky and look it up before acting like a irritating little brat!

Deano

Agree0 Disagree0

LOOOOOL! ^^^^ Sorry for calling you Shirley.. BTW, Gnabry is posting photos all over the place because he is habing a blast with the squad. Hope AW shape this kid well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry to be a pain in the back side but could somebody just describe what sort of player and the standard this guy is capable of cause all the things ive read about him are very unspecific, i would like to hear the opinion of someone who has watched him and/or has followed him and his progress closely

He's one of our youth midfielders who recently signed professional terms with the club. A German Youth international and presumable future star, was excellent for the reserves I believe, at the end of the season. Maybe someone else can add.

Ask CrossRoss, he used to know EVERYTHING about the youth set up and players.

Believable21 Unbelievable51

Were a while ago . not sure now though. hope we do though

Agree0 Disagree0

Make ya mind up lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice, would be a good shout, I'm sure Man U were linked with him after they played in the CL last season. He is a good player. Can't see us forking out the no-doubt r*****ed fee that club will ask for, they think they're the European Santos! If it's in part-x for Bendtner then this could work very well though...Eds what's the chat on this?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a little while ago, did Ben say a Spanish Euro Cup winner was joining Arsenal?

Credit where it's due mate, well done on that one.

Nick.

Believable68 Unbelievable10

Actually a guy on Twitter said we would sign a Spanish Euro winner, however a week before that Ben said Wenger was keen on Cazorla....so he did well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, i remember that....and i add my congrats ...now what about sahin...please hear a rumour someone

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate...a spanish cup winner

Agree0 Disagree0

NOt tryingto ruin anyones day but the Cazorlalink appeared in January and resurfaced in August, however by reading this site alot i anyone would be spotonit would be BEn...

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep Ben was right!:)

Agree0 Disagree0

And if I remember rightly he got a lot of stick for that, so well done Ben and its humble pie For everybody else.

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember that too. Well done Ben.

cazorla to have number 13 shirt and podolski to have number 23 when arshavin is sold. Van persie will stay till at least january and wear captains arm band.

Believable13 Unbelievable50

They should give the verminator the capts armband as he wants to finish his career at arsenal.

Agree2 Disagree0

Who ever is to be sold next summer will have the armband it seems to happen every year. And also Podolski will get the 9 when park leaves

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the future captain defo n kos vice captain

Agree0 Disagree0

IN JAN HE CAN TALK TO CLUBS FREELY - no one in their right mind would bid for him then!

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Podolski was waiting for 9 or 10

Agree0 Disagree0

Arshavin ain't leaving dude. and rvp will hoepfully sign a new contract. so i think Poldi will get nr.9 from park.

Come jan he can think about free transfer

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way RVP should be captain, no way at all. He made his bed. Vermaelen is a far better on-field captain anyway and that is the most important thing. It doesn't matter about status or age, it's the impact you have on the team when you're on that pitch, and for me, it's Verminator hands down. So much so, he should be captain and vice captain at the same time . Jokes.

Metal Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it to Song. He will be next that wants to leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be a disgrace id RvP wears the arm band, just remember his statement...
The kid has opened his mouth and f**ked it and with watching the pure spirit and dedication of the Olympians, RvP just looks greedy to me.... GET RID

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't let RVP be capatian now...give it to Arteta, even though he hasn't been with us long, he is experienced, or to TV5.

Podolski is holding out for the number 10 shirt....

Agree0 Disagree0

Vermanator has already been named captain

Nuri Sahins agent Reza Fazzeli is in town for talks regarding the players future. He's dealing directly with Mr Happy (Not his real name, but close enough) who sorts out the contracts on behalf of Arsenal. I've been told by my friend that were not interested in a loan and would prefer a straight purchase for £10 million. A reliable source but don't kill me if we don't get him I'm just trying to pass on the little info I get. I work in the city among the larger legal firms and always wear an Arsenal badge or tie pin etc which usually sparks off a bit of chat with the Lawyers (mostly Man U fans, unsurprisingly). Would be a great addition to the squad especially if we can keep hold of RVP as his range of passes are immense. I did ask about Song but he said "nothing doing there and if anyone would know, we would"

Exo

Believable29 Unbelievable17

That is the players agent....who is the Arsenal man with the miserable face?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not an Arsenal man, he's the Lawyer who handles negotiations on behalf of Arsenal, when the deal gets nearer to Arsenals expectations than Mr Saving, Gazidis and Arsene are brought in to give final agreement and sign the deal off.

Exo

Agree0 Disagree0

A sahin purchase would be better than a loan option but hes contracted to real for another 5 yrs so i doubt 10mil would be enough, mayb 15-20mil

Eds, I am not a Gonner but a scouser, however i have a question in regard to RVP. Any chance he will now stay? IMO Aresnal have a pretty decent squad now and i think will be right up there next season, espically if they add some defense reinforcements. IMO they have a better squad this year than the scum. What are the chances he will stay due to the signficant investment Aresnal have made this summer?

The WiseRigglet {Ed002's Note - Of course he might stay.}

Believable31 Unbelievable5

We've always had a better team than the Spuds {Ed035's Note - I think the original poster was talking about man united.

Arsene, wants to sign Nuri Sahin, and also wants to sign a young striker prospect. " luke Shaw" young Southampton left back will sign in Jan. I know Arsene really likes Sakho the Psg centre back who is having a bad time at the moment, but that deal may have to wait for next summer.

Believable29 Unbelievable4

Vaan da wieel now and luke shaw in jan wud be good wen saints go down under.... mbaye niang will be the young striker...

Agree0 Disagree1

Not getting Luke Shaw lads!

Agree1 Disagree0

Arsenal have already been told Shaw is not for sale.
That doesn't mean maybe, perhaps or if you break down in tears and plead. It means

NO, HE IS NOT FOR SALE.

The same message has been given to Man.U., Chelsea and Man.City.

About time you started to show some respect and learn you don't get everything you ask for at Christmas!

Enjoy Alex-you will find he is the last youngster we develope for you. You will have to do that work yourselves in future.

ed, what's happening with m'vila? have we completely pulled out?

we have managed to register an interest, talk to, complete a medical and sign cazorla in relatively quick time.

why is there no news?

Well done to Arsene, and the board for getting in a world class player. From what i understand there is 2 more signings to come. Nuri sahin will be signed, and if Rvp leaves he will be replaced. As for the other signing i think it could be the Ajax fullback Van Der Wiel,as he can play as centre back as well.

Believable25 Unbelievable15

Coquelin is more than capable of covering for sagna, who is still a first choice rb IMO.

Add to that, coquelin will not play cm much if rumours of sahin etc are true.

Money would be better spent on sakho as
choice lb, rotating with Gibbs when sakho
covers cb
Drakey

Agree0 Disagree0

Thing is Coquelin is not a RB... We need to start playing players in position rather than relying on youngsters plugging holes. He is good at RB dont get me wrong but i would prefer him at his natural position.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2012 11:52:33
Few questions ed (or anyone else), cheers:

--Is it true Sahin only comes if Modric goes to RM?
--Any news on the Modric situation if so?
--Is Sahin good enough to plug our defensive problem with Wilshere out and Arteta/Song being overworked last season? Would RM sell him at all? {Ed002's Note - Sahin and Modric are unrelated and there are other clubs interested in Sahin. So nothing is for sure just yet.}

Believable15 Unbelievable2

I have a feeling Sahin will cover Arteta, more than Song, with Coquelin or Frimpong (when fit), more suited to the Song role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forward players complete, now...

-Versatile defensive midfielder
-A right back
-A left back

C'mon Arsene, you know you want to ;)

G95

Believable26 Unbelievable10

Cant see us getting a left and right back. We need someone who can play both sides, like Simpson of Newcastle.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why do ppl keen asking for a left back. we have TWO left backs now. SANTOS AND GIBBS. I believe both of them are of enough quality to play in the first team. However, on the right back atm we have ZERO players with sagna being injured (I dont count jenkinson - come on). What we need is a player who can play RB and CB to provide cover for SAGNA as well as VER/KOS/MER in the centre of defence (I dont count djurou and squilaci - come on again).

Agree0 Disagree1

I believe the only signing on the cards is Sahin.
If Fabianski or Van Persie depart then we will be in the market for replacements. Although in Van Persie's case I am not sure we will buy, as we already have two forwards for one position, in Giroud & Podolski, whilst Walcott could be played further forward, as could Gervinho.

Agree0 Disagree0

M'Vila or Toulalan
Lahm or Van Der Weil
Zhirkov or Baines

Agree0 Disagree0

Kos can play CB and RB, Santos was a panic buy and not a great LB at all! his more a LM or LW.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil Taylor (Swansea) looked ok in RB position in the Olympics. Plays LB for his club. Versatile, cheap(?), homegrown. What do others think?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we need a LB. A RB would be good though, Debuchy would be a great signing. On the cheap, around £5m and played beautifully for France

Agree0 Disagree0

Van da wieel who wants out and has a yr left seems like ajax are pushing for his exit to make cash to avoid losing him on the free, also luke shaw of saints in january wen they fail to do well in EPL UNLESS shaw has an unbelievable season and UTD steals him they need to replace evra after all

Agree0 Disagree0

Get neil taylor

Agree0 Disagree0

Milo.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that Coquelin will be used as the right back until Sagna has returned. Can't see a LB being signed when we have two in Santos and Gibbs and Verminator can play there too. I think we may see a CB come in next (hopefully get rid of Squid and Djourou)

NorthWest Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we need a LB at all - I wonder if we are still in for the Egyptian Milo? I think a good buy would be VDW from Ajax, as he can challenge (is that even possible) Sagna for RB and also fill in CB in required. That plus a DM would be all we need for next season. (Unless RVP leaves - in which case we may want to consider another forward).

Bentschke

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2012 11:18:46
all we need now is a defensive mid and we are sorted, be it a capoue mvilla or whoever just aslong as he defends we will be sorted. coquelin or yennaris could cover for sagna while he is out - the rest of the squad looks strong, maybe get niang if rvp leaves. sahin will be a luxury if we get him he is not a neccessity.

carzola podolski giroud top top signings COYG

GS

Believable26 Unbelievable3

I believe Wenger appears to be having a think about the DM role, hence the possible loan signing of Sahin. We have two excellent prospects in Coquelin & Frimpong, aged 21 & 20 respectively. I expect Frimpong to be loaned out to gain fitness & experience. Next season these players could well become first team regulars, so Sahin could fill in for a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great work arsene wenger you have at last signed 3 top quality players and if he can talk r.v.p into staying and add a better back up keeper and and maybe another left back. Arsenal will be a major threat this season to city, utd and chavski

ed plz can you tell me if arsenal clinch cazorla in these days wil wenger make more signings and what will be his priority in transfer market? {Ed002's Note - I suspect this is not the end. Much will depend on RvP.}

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Its official...go to arsenal.com!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you expect RVP to go? If so could you see him staying in the premiership with one of the Manc clubs?

Gilo {Ed035's Note - I really think he will stay at arsenal, with or without signing a new contract but I think he will be there next season. It just seems strange that after his statement was made he hasn't come out said he wants to join certain clubs and pushed for a transfer or handed in a transfer request. I might be completely wrong and I will be the first one to hold my hands up if he leaves but I have this feeling wenger was in on this from the start to unsettle the Manc clubs, look how much time they have wasted already with RVP and still no one has signed him, wenger can't out bid these clubs but he can definitely out think them!!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm just hoping that this signing from La Liga will convince Sahin to try life at the Emirates.

After the confirmation from Arsenal.com on Cazorla Wenger described Cazorla as a attacking midfielder so it looks like he will play more centrally than out on the wing.

49_unbeaten

Believable24 Unbelievable3

"attacking midfield player who can play comfortably on either side of the pitch or centrally"

Agree0 Disagree0

I am imagining our frontline being Walcott - Cazorla - Podolski behind either RVP or Giroud. Pretty enticing really, and we still have Ox and Gervinho! I am hopeful that Arteta and Song will be defensive enough to balance out an awesome midfield.

Believable32 Unbelievable6

Arsenal are after tello from barca fantastic talent hope the rumours are true

Believable11 Unbelievable34

Btw.. check arsenal.com :):):)

Agree0 Disagree0

Overrated. Honestly, Barca have a good academy, but the forwards they produce are getting overhyped. Tello and Cuenca, both good players, but they are never going to be world class.

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree, Tello has shown everytime he's played what a dnager he can be, given the choice i'd have him over Gervinho anyday. he can play as a winger or striker, give them song, get tello and spend a few quid on M'Vila.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can barca afford rvp or song? 15 mill for song with 3 years left on contract is no where near enough, 22n a half-25 minimum. as for rvp.. we want minimum 20, barca are skint, major debt, and still owe us money for fabregas. but maybe song has had his head turned now?!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2012 05:06:41
Mr Smooch Is Back

All I have to say is if we lose song that would be a bigger loss than fabregas he holds us together i think we need a creative midfielder and SAKHO we should be looking at throwing some cash at Lucas Moura, Ganso and getting rid of the rubish Djourou Chamakh Bendtner Arsharvin and so on its time to prove that we are a top club plus we need to get rid of player like RVP abroad full stop id sell him for 12mil to juventus rather than 25 at ManU it will come back to haunt us!!

Mr Smooch

Believable21 Unbelievable34

Lol at Song being a bigger loss then Fab, now ive heard it all. No chance at Lucas as they want over 30 million and we have a creative mid now with Cazorla.

Agree1 Disagree0

You lost me at "Song will be a bigger loss than Fabregas".
There have only been three times that I have been truly gutted to lose a player at Arsenal - Henry going to Barca, Bergkamp calling it quits and Fabregas going.
Paul

Agree1 Disagree0

The money they are quoting for Lucas Moura and Ganso is just not worth it - neither are proven in Europe - the club that own Ganso are asking for £40m - what i have seen so far in the Olympics (which Brazil are trying their hardest to win) Ganso looks no better than Ramsey

Agree0 Disagree0

Brillient post dude. i agree with every point!

joey

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a creative midfielder?? we just signed Santi Cazorla, prove we are a big club?? we also signed Podolski and Giroud!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Song is a better creative player than he is at the defensive side of a dm, the at the qpr away game from last season for prove of this, with all the creative flair and attacking players we could have by the start of the season surely a better dm and one who does that job effectively would be beneficial, I wouldn't be to gutted if song leaves as long as the replacement is a solid dm, maybe de Jong or capoue or m,villa.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Song is a brilliant player and doesnt get enough credit

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on guys you see abit of media bull and you jump on a players butt like he's the worse you have seen no wonder more and more players are walking out the door if we forget major players like song.
losing fab was a big loss but defensivly come onnnn! we can always create chances its the big guy in the centre of the park giving players the taps on the ankles that change the game cazorla give me strength the thing is when you have teams like barca and man city manu and real madrid (teams that want trophies) biting at your ankles for song persie sagna and so on then i think you need to think twice about getting rid for instance man city have become a complete team and it would have cost us a fraction of the price cos its our team lol plus with the players that we could have got for half the price man city got em for and we was like hmmmm too expensive YAYA TOURE for instance and olympics bloody andy murray bet federer and spain got thrashed and brazil got thrashed by crap teams couple of week back rooney was s***e in euros ashley young was messi aint exactly a god at the world cup so...... everybody raving about somebody and theres plenty to choose from and to me real madrid barca cast offs aint them

is there any chance we sign bosingwa on a free transfer? he has pl-experience and would be a great back up for sagna.

what do you think eds?

Believable17 Unbelievable35

Definatly should take a punt, depends what wages he wants tho, im guessing chelsea paid him quite a lot and for us he will oonly be cover so cat be giving him too much

joey

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont understand people wanting to sign our rival's rejects? Sure why dont we sign all players who are not good enough for weaker squads on a free. there is a reason they are on a free!

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't mind it for more than a backup. Bosingwa has a history of going forward in attack and getting left in the dust on the counter, which has been Arsenal's biggest weakness on defense these past 2 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

He isn't half the player he was back at Porto. No point.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he is terrible.

I was thinking the same thing myself, he showed at the end of the season he can actually defend and like you said EPL experience and is free, I would sign him up at 29 would be good cover for Sanga

Providing his wages are reasonable. I think it makes sense a really good right back would not be happy to be understudy to Sagna. We shouldn't not sign someone because he did not agree a new contract at Chelsea - If Van Persie does not sign a new contract, I'm pretty sure many of our rivals would be happy to sign him

True, he is terrible, but jenkinson is possibly the worst right back i have ever seen. six of the 8-2 defeat were his fault and nearly all of the goals on pre season tour are a result of him out of position.

Bosingwa... i wouldnt be happy!
