Liverpool have admitted defeat in the race to sign Alexis Sanchez, Barcelona received 2 £30m+ bids from Arsenal and Liverpool for he's services which both was accepted. He had the weekend to decide on his future and he now has chosen Arsenal as he wants he family to live in London. Luiz Suarez is not holding up the deal as Barcelona have already activated he's release clause, it's Puma who have put a hold on things as they think this will be a great marketing ploy when kit is released. 10th July this will be made public.

Reliable Spanish radio station RAC1 is reporting that Alexis Sanchez is close to moving to the Premier League, with Arsenal his main option. Fresh Arsenal understands the fee to be in the region of €40million (£32million). Liverpool have given up on signing the forward, which means if the player does indeed move to the Premier League, Arsenal will be the club who signs him.

Fresh Arsenal also understands that Luis Suarez has agreed to join Barcelona for around £75million. The deal is done and is just pending an official announcement. This will pave the way for Sanchez’s move to Arsenal to be completed. The only thing that could scupper a deal is a late big bid from Juventus. Arsenal are confident of completing the move though, with personal terms of around £140,000 per-week thought to have already been agreed in principle.

i just have a feeling juventus may get sanchez in the end the way things are moving lately. too long to sign one player IMO, the done deal bit has been going on for quite awhile

any truth in the Arsenal offer for Cuadrado being Rejected?

if so why are we going for another winger if we are trying for sanchez?

is that deal falling through or are we keeping a backup option ready?

Sanchez is being looked at as a Centre Forward rather than a wing option which is one of the reasons we (and to a lesser extent Juventus) have such a good chance of securing his services compared to others (he prefers this role and MC and MU would offer him a berth on the wings).

We very well may also be looking at another option on the wings especially if we are to offload Poldi or Santi. This is why the press are still mentioning us as interested in the likes of DiMaria and Cuadrado.

This comes from the same guy who told me about VP to Manchester United (actually posted on this site but never published!).
