All this talk of belkerin going does not bother me at all. He's on a long contract and could well be our most valuable player as it stands. If Barcelona were to buy him then that would be fine in my eyes (providing they pay the price in one instalment, I'm sure Barcelona are the pay in bits type of club if they can) providing we stick to a back three and ox stays I think getting 40 plus million for him would be good business.

Only problem I have with that mate is squad depth, who fills in if Ox is injured, do you see someone else in the squad stepping into that rule.
Jenkinson and Debuchy will be off and neither good enough anyway.
I get what you're saying but it just makes us weaker. The Ox's injury record isn't that great.

Couldn't agree more with SLB. Anything north of £40m for bellerin is good wedge, especially if we actually reinvested that with Lacazette for only slightly (relative term) more.
Maitland Niles, is a fine prospect and can surely act as cover for The Ox who we simply MUST MUST re-contract.
I'd say its good news for us as Wenger can surely then persuade The Ox he has a "permanent" place and function in the team.
Don't get me wrong, I like Bellerin and a year ago would have wept at the prospect of him going back to Barcelona, but the price, the "replacement" and the new formation dictate otherwise now.

I'd forgotten about Maitland-Niles Max and he did look good in the games he played in, he's listed as right wing, RB and midfielder so a good prospect for that role.
Definitely want Ox to stay, I guess it's selling our better players that bugs me but if the money goes to better then there is no argument from me.

Why is paying in one installment so important to you?
The fact is that very, very few clubs and certainly not continental clubs will pay transfer fees in one lump sum.
It just doesn't happen.
Barca will pay about 10% first and then 60-70% over the length of the contract - normally 4-5 years and the rest will be in clauses.
This is how clubs pay.

{Ed002's Note - There have been discussions with Manchester City and Bayern Munich - PSG took another option.}

Care to elaborate on the other option?
Thanks.

Do I assume that arsenal are open to selling alexis then. I ask this as I keep seeing Arsene say alexis is going no where.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal want him to stay - this has been dealth with over and over.}

Sorry I know we want him to stay I just wasn't sure if we was open to selling him or keeping him a year to run down his contract as Arsene said. Apologies tho ed I should've searched. Thanks for replying tho 👍🏻.

Morning Eds.
I was just curious as to how much truth there is in the rumour Arsenal are bidding (or talking to) James Rodriguez?
I think I read elsewhere that he might go to Italy. Last time I asked on the Madrid page I was told Arsenal weren't after any Madrid players, has this changed?
Thank you.

With moves likely for Szczesny and Ospina is it likely we will make a move for Pickford or look to promote Martinez?
Thanks.

Not a transfer rumour - but a confir, ed update.
One of my contacts works in Infrustructure, mainly stadiums.
He is currently working on 2 London deals.
1. Tottenham
2. Arsenal.
Silent Stan is planning the following:
New box office
New Mega screens
New Pitch update
- Plan is to make it much easier to change surface so that NFL games can happen.
- Rationale is to potentially move one of his Franchise's to London and share the stadium.
Hence - Stan is not selling the club to anyone.

Stan owns one football team. In LA. It's not moving anywhere, as its transfer from St. Louis to LA boosted his net worth by $2B.

Interesting - perhaps what he meant then was that he was negotiating the franchise move with another team.

More likely is that his team will play 1-2 "home" games at Arsenal.
NFL games at Wembley and Twickenham have been very successful. And lucrative.
