Just heard from a mate who lives in spain, that juan mata is to relace arshavin who's heading back to russia in the summer, he siad its doing the rounds in spain, but i can't find anything on the web. anyone else heard this?

Stephen Defour"You are 2/ 3 right. . . Defour is on his way to United, but Vertonghen and Hazard are likely signings, and rumour has it that Subotic and Honda will be brought in to replace several players who will be cleared out this summer

Arsenal need to make 2 key signings this summer. They are the Belgian duo of Eden Hazard and Jan Vertonghen. Hazard is going to be world class and should be the long term replacement for Arshavin. Vertonghen is experienced, young, big and strong, and can play both DCM (competition for Song) and CB (Squillaci out), making him an incredibly versatile and useful player.
I think Rosicky should go, and we don't need to replace him thanks to the return of Rambo. We don't need to buy another striker as I believe Jay E-T has the potential step up to provide competition for Chamakh and Bendtner. Traore, Randall, Hoyte and Eastmond should also hit the road.
I hope Clichy signs a new deal, but if not, Gibbs is ready, plus Botelho will soon come back. We could play Vertonghen/ Djourou/ Koscielny at CB and move Vermaelen to LB. .
Denilson is another who has failed to impress. Diaby is an all-round better player. Lansbury can make the step up as can Henderson and Frimpong. Aneke is one season away from the first team, and Miyaichi will come in the summer.
Imagine Walcott and Miyaichi on the wings. .
