In Arsene I trust, not sure about you but i think AOC's one signing of 4 more to come. (oh yeah by the way i posted here yesterday saying that we will sign 4-5 players within 2 weeks. We got 1 in 1 day)

TomArsenal

Believable13 Unbelievable7

Cant see another 3 tbh, maybe one more defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish Barcelona would stop being such a bunch of pikeys and put their money where their huge gobs have been the last 3 years...

£40 Million for fabregas, get rid of him now along with Bendtner and Denilson.

Then we need Benzema and Jagielka, and perhaps one more defensive player and we are all set, and Nasri (even though everybody is slating him unfairly) will stay AS HE SAID HE WOULD if the club actually bothered to get behind the squad and bring in top quality rather than little nippers like AOC.

he will be amazing the same as Walcott will be EVENTUALLY but to be honest;

I have been patient for years, well I expect Arsenal to at least finish 2nd and win some type of cup ... Not that they look capable now, but they never do then surprise us all during the first 3/4 of the season ....

Only to fall apart in the last 1/4 because of a lack of bodies, so come on Wenger I have supported yuo through thick and thin ... Get off your garlicky French backside and SPEND on TOP QUALITY ADULTS now please.

We have plenty of awesome kids but as experience shows they win f*** all on their own, then get pissed off and want to leave.

In Arsene we trust, for the last year if you don't AT LEAST come 2nd and win something. Goes without saying that if Fab and Nasri leave, we won't be doing that either.

Good luck, hope it can work out and I can stop stressing - because ARSENAL is clearly the best football club on Earth regardles of this daft transfer bull.

Fab, Nasri, any players can leave or come I still love the Arsenal

That said I expect results this time it's been 6 long years

Agree0 Disagree0

If Cahill and my favourite choice Mata are on that list of players I'll be pretty happy with this window despite Arsene and Ivan messing us about, still think we need a beastly DM and ST (Benzema pls) but beggers can't be choosers.

Agree0 Disagree0

We got 1 in 1 day makes no sense, when's ur reference point? its not lyk wenger just began his attempt to sign AOC in 1 day... more lyk 1 in two/three transfer windows

Officially from Arsenal.com... Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is now an Arsenal player

Believable10 Unbelievable5

YAY great news, please forgive my enthusiasm as i am so overjoyed by our new "SUPER" player signing. I mean come on seriously just what we needed another brilliant prospect for the future I am so happy, shame we will not get any "SUPER PLAYERS" for the 1st team but i think the reserves will do brilliantly.

Gavsta

Agree0 Disagree0

Chamberlain may have the potential to be a special, special player in a few years but it's impossible for me to be excited about this signing. Wenger has to realize that his building for the future has not worked with this current group of players, why would it magically work in a couple years? Spending 12m on a 18 year old we don't need is absurd considering all the obvious holes in our first team. At least one new CB, experienced competition for Song, a confident striker to back up RVP (Chamakh looks to have lost all his heart). Sort these positions out before worrying about a few years from now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would people even click disagree lol

A contact of mine, a respected sports journalist, has told me that Arsenal are working to sign up to 3 players this week. They may not all happen but expect AOC and at least 1 defender of either Cahill or Samba to be an Arsenal player by Thursday.

Notatottenhamrioter

Believable15 Unbelievable9

Who is the third player?

JH.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on man we all know that's going on. You just majorly tried to cover your own a$$ there - we're all expecting AOC, and either Samba or Cahill, to be signed this week.

Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

Dude that is just common sense

AOC Sky have been chirping on about all day, so we know that...

A defender has been on the cards since Gallas went to the scum...

Who is this insider then? Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets just hope its Cahill and not Samba...

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not Cahill, Samba or Jagielka

100% it is a Defender from abroad

I have a couple of really good friends who know a thing or two and they are loyal, pro's. So they have only told me that the Defender is from abroad.

Good chance that we will know tomorrow morning. Wait and see before slating me....

JS

Agree0 Disagree0

Still think Jagielka is a better player for us, and against what is being said I am still hoping we get Jags, Samba I never rated whereas Cahill I do rate but just don't see it happening.

Come on Wenger nows your time to shine and prove the critics wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder if it is that guy from Shaktar Barcelona have been looking at :) LOL would love to steal a signing from them before sending them back Spain empty handed and telling Cesc to honour his contract lol

Agree0 Disagree0

If u think bout it this could be a good summer planing out.if at the end of it we sign:

Gervinho
Jenkinson
AOC
Cahil

and sell:

Almunia
clichy
Squillaci
bendtner

then thats a good summer....in my opinion

And sell:

admittedly i do not work for Arsenal I just turn up to as many games as possible when I am not working and I do not live near the stadium or London Colney but I have been told by my mate Alex McQuade that apparently Gary Cahill is going to head to Arsenal soon. Alex never tells me any rumours but he is in the youth team at Bolton and he just told me that they are the whispers going on up there. I don't know if this is true but it is just what I have been told

{Ed022's Note - A friend of mine told me that because England use London Colney to train and are there from today, don't be surprised if Cahill has an Arsenal medical before Wednesday...We shall see...}

Believable18 Unbelievable7

I would love to see Cahill arrive, at last a 6'2" CB & the end of the truly attrocious Squilacci. I would love to see Samba & Enrique signed, with Traore & Djourou departing, but that simply wont happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Samba is injured at the moment

{Ed022's Note - As "injured" as Fabregas "is" or Nasri? Or is that me being sceptical??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well nasri is listed on the arsenal website as muscular injury...with the other injured players.

Cesc is not listed...

Dont know about samba.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign Mertesacker 6ft 6 and QUALITY and only 6m and only 26.....

Agree0 Disagree0

I just want Arsenal to get some players in because as it stands now, we are only playing for 4th position

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not wait and get him in january and bolton wud take 5mill for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Samba looks more likely to join the scum. N Cesc isnt injured anymore Wenger just didnt deem him fit enough to play yet due to lackl of trainin and supposedly his head wasnt in the right place due to the possible imminent transfer. Glad to see we signed AOC even if we need cb's more.
BD

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertesacker is big, but not quaility- wenger doesn't rate him, so don't expect to see him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertesacker is Quality, he stopped Argentina in the WC, you apparently have not seen him play.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Mertesacker is a good player, he is quality but I wouldn't say he was any better than what we currently have for his position;

Kos and Vermaelen are far better players generally. Infact give Kos another full season and we shall see just how good this lad can be

18.14 For the three qualifying
rounds and the play-offs,
a club may register a
maximum of one new eligible player
on List A after the above-mentioned

Such

Believable7 Unbelievable4

I may be stupid but what does this mean? I'm not at all trying to be rude but I can't make sense of this. If someone can could they explain to me in a way that's easier to understand? what it means to Arsenal? Thanks

StEvE

Agree0 Disagree0

Me too.. You have me confused

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal must sign players by 11PM tonight to be eligible against Udinese except they can sign one more before next monday(15/8/11) 11pm.

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF Are you translating from Martian. It probably all makes sense inside your mind - problem is, no-one else has a clue wtf you are banging on about. Let's hope AFC know about the deadlines eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's trying to make the point that all players to play in the qualifying round in the champions league need to to be registered tonight, but in all honesty i think the reason we have not made more signings is due to the fact that are champions league status isn't guaranteed yet, or he is just displaying his 'copy and paste' talents.

Agree0 Disagree0

Basically anyone who is registered to this club by 11pm(uk time)tonight can play v Udinese, We can sign 1 more player before next monday who could also play. if you can't understand this i would give up reading the post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Basically this is the legal priciples that govern the way our transfer system slots into the eligibility of players for Europe, there will also be more for the prem and what makes a player cup tied etc. However im really not sure why it wasnt just posted in normal languaged rather than a copy n paste form that both baffles and bores everyone. Ps im a law student n even i couldnt be bothered with readin it.

to the guy who said that mata and chamberlain are having medicals today can you please tell me how you know this?

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Oxlade-Chamberlain's medical is being reported by BBC but nothing mentioned about Mata.

Agree0 Disagree0

AOC is all over the news he is 100% having a medical mata is speculation but AOC is happening right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chamberlain yes but just cant see the Mata deal happening until we are in the champions league for sure.....but i really hope i'm wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid that chamberlain is leaving saints for arsenal , he should stay cause he hasn't been proven in the championship yet he is taking the step up too quickly his dad has advised him poorly he should of listened to his mother and stayed .he won't be picked ahead of walcott and would not even make the bench for most games

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence, but that is daft, he is 17. He is securing a VERY bright future with us, and it isn't foolish for him at all. If anything, it's foolish that we are focusing on him and not say our defence or adult strikers or a Cesc+Nasri replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im watching Liverpool v Valencia right now in a friendly, not sure if live think it is and if so cant see Mata being in 2 places at once cause he is playing. But like I said not sure if live.

{Ed022's Note - Keep up mate. Liverpool played Valencia on Saturday. Therefore he isn't still in Liverpool!}

I'V heard that Wenger is splashing out 36 million this week for 4 Players. Chamberlain, Campbell, Cahill and Dann. Ill be over the moon if Wenger pulls this off. I Still Think we need a Player like Mata/Vertegohn/Mertasacker.

TomArsenal

Believable21 Unbelievable4

You shouldn't read all those dodgy websites that pretends to be "in the know"

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we need players that can get us goals because it has been six years now but we stick with wenger

Agree0 Disagree0

Mata would be a great signing, not sure if this will happen though unless Cesc, Nasri or both get sold really soon as in this week. I think we need a forward, watching Chamakh against Benfica was painful. To be honest I'd rather keep Bendtner and sell Chamakh. He had a great start last season but tailed off, it was said he wasn't prepared for the physicallity of the English game. I'm not sure if this is true, maybe he's a confidence player ot maybe he just isn't up to it. Who knows? Could try Arshavin or Theo up front, a bit of pace like Theo's tends to worry defenders and boy does Theo need the confidence of playing there & scoring goals. I am a bit concerned over this season but finger's crossed Arsene brings some players in and hopefully we can make the top 4, I'd prefer top 3, no one likes the qualifying round of the CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

If AW pulls these off this week we would have a nice little team, we dont need marquee signings we need consistant, strong, vibrant players they are there to do a job and not mess about we dont need flair we need unsung heros. I would like Barton to add to that list but it would be one hell of a punt for AW I would expect him to add clauses all over a contract about behaviour and twitter. On the field he is basically a proper pro now just his online outbusts are draggin him down again, but not once does he undermine the team during a current season FACT.

AOC - Sky Sports claim medical right now.
Dann - Dependable, young and strong, not afraid to get stuck in.
Cahill - BWFC board will see sense and sell him for £15m
Campbell - im hoping we have the another Strurrige (aka vintage Derby/City '95) this is exciting signing.

North Bank Elite

Agree0 Disagree0

Chambers will be our Mata,just watch this lad go.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this happened then I think we could certainly push on now we also have Gervhino. Nasri to leave and also Fabregas, doesnt matter how good these players are they will not put 100% in anyway.

Sky N, reporting AOC, having medical at this moment.

Cazza56

Agree0 Disagree0

Chamberlain is OFFICIALLY having a medical at Arsenal, Cheers for the heads up mate... And the two above you look like TITS now lads.

{Ed022's Note - Tits is putting it politely. Next time someone posts a rumour, give em a bloody chance before slagging them off. At least they have got something right...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just reported on SSN for chamberlain mata will only come in if fab goes nasri moves central and sign 5 year deal for £110k a week plus Gary cahill bid with fab money

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny how people are saying he's in dreamland when he is already right about Chamberlain. Not sure about Mata but i will believe you Kev until it is proved wrong.
South Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find AOC is having a medical at Arsenal. Ssn has reported it. Therefore you are wrong and the original poster is right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct n chamberlain. hope correct on the mata situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its amazing when some 1 puts up a good post you only get the usual people answering,but when some 1 puts up a rumour loads come on here to shoot the sender down without giving him chance to prove it.
well done gooner kev

Agree0 Disagree0

Because alot of posters on here want to slag everyone if they say anything positive about this club.

{Ed022's Note - Well it doesn't happen on my watch. I didn't let that reply through. People need to give people a chance on rumours. The original posters rumour had been up less than an hour before people jumped all over it and then...oh wait, yep, he's right about AOC... oh dear. Don't we look silly... Gutless people didn't add a name either...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Definately gona have to keep an eye out for more of your posts kev. got my fingers crossed for a double whammy on both chamberlain and mata.
BD

Agree0 Disagree0

If he is right about mata then he is a ledge lool

{Ed022's Note - If Mata comes off too then I think the posters who gave him stick need to come back on and personally apologise and leave their name.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I did put my name, I even sent a further reply which basically apologised to Gooner Kev and stated that my orginal comment was more related to Mata and not AOC, ok maybe I should've been more specific about which part of the rumour I doubted. Funny thing is though you decided not to publish the post where I apologised Romford Gunner.

{Ed022's Note - Funny thing Romford Gunner, its not a case of "not deciding to put your rumour up." I have only just started editing today and wasn't around when a) you slagged someone off and b) posted an apology. So we'l call this your apology. Everyone can move on and become excited about a signing! Might not be a CB yet but at least we're active. Look at Spurs. Nothing all summer apart from a 40yr old keeper in Friedel!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I was one of the guys who slagged him off...

so i will personally apologize to him if the mata bit is true. I will not apologize about the AOC bit as it was already speculated by andrew gardner about 8am this morning.

Jon

{Ed022's Note - I think the moral of all this here guys is we're all Arsenal fans. We're all looking for some signings. We're all feeling the frustrations of an as yet, quiet transfer window. Rather than slag each other off let's just try and keep things in perspective and realise we're all in the same boat. If a rumour gets posted give it a chance.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, yep you're right. I will endeavour in future to be more patient and give the rumour a chance before I put my foot in it. Apologies to Gooner Kev, do hope u are right about Mata though. Romford Gunner. {Ed022's Note - Mate we're all hoping he's right. We're all looking for that signing that lifts the frustration/spirit amongst a lot of Gooners out there. Let's hope Mata can be that signing sooner rather than later.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep the faith lads Arsenal for the League this year

{Ed022's Note - 10/1 to win the league. I whacked on a tenner in blind faith this morning.}

Agree0 Disagree0

AOC is a good signing for the future (again...), hopefully a defender before Saturday (Cahill? Mentioned in other rumours) but Mata will only happen if Cesc goes I believe (cash flow....)

Agree0 Disagree0

10/1 to win the league? so the bookies actually gave us better odds than last season Hehehe

s**t that made me laugh :) Hope we can, though I am not chucking money at it before end of October, look at the fixtures they are crazy

Arsenal for 2nd lol

campbell 1 mil- bargain
AOC 7 mil rising to 12- good buy
Cahill/Jagielka 15 mil
If wenger buys these, and holds on to cesc and samir, i will be one happy gooner. wouldnt mind benzema or vertonghen though.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Can someone please explain to me why AOC is a good buy for us? Please i'm begging for a decent response here.

StEvE

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we would all be extremely happy if this happened. but personally id prefer a second centre back than benzema.
BD

Agree0 Disagree0

I think most Gooners would be happy if we got The Cesc and Nasir to play for us next season along with Mata, Cahill/new CB, new LB. If the buys Cambell, I don't see us purchasing a striker. Boy looks good. These purchase would make us a stronger propect to challenge for the title.
Our squad looks thin, but it has been like this for about 6-8 seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Either nasri or Fabregas or even both will be gone by the end of this week.Its obvious they don't want to play for Arsenal anymore,we don't need players who don't want to play for us.Man city want Nasri this week,and we all know where Fabregas is off to.

Agree0 Disagree0

(Saints fan) He is better than Walcott was at the same age by a long way, AOC can cross a ball Walcott could not cross the road, he is far more physical, but having said that i have only seen him play in League 1.....I think Walcott is on his
way out to make way for AOC though

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure Walcott can cross the road as good as anyone with the standard look left, look right and left again technique.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gooners in trouble, Samir and Cesc off by this week which will destroy your midfield. Wenger pays £15m for a 17 year old who dont get me wrong is a player for the future but has only played in League 1. And he wont pay over the odds for an experienced proven Premier League player that will improve you for this season but for a 17 year who 'could' improve you in 3 more seasons.

I would be worried if I were an arsenal fan. What you guys think honestly ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw Ricky Alvarez playing for Inter milan against A C milan and he was the best player on the field.He looks like a taller version of robert pires only quicker and he runs at defences and also is twofooted.In the 1st half he played on the right and the 2nd half he played on the left,and if that was not enough he is a dead ball specialist.To me he looks like a 30 million pound player,well done mr gazides you are too slow and anyone else would have got this done quickly.

Believable15 Unbelievable7

I also agree with you on that. For 12mil I think he is a good signing.
-Hakeem-

Agree0 Disagree0

Too slow and too cheap, same bid as Milan almost but offering much worse personal terms

Agree0 Disagree0

True but at the end of the day there would have been no way to compete against Inter's finances and I think they would have got involved whatever happened since lots of clubs knew about him in him from the very start of the transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to our club, I believe Alvarez was always pinning for an offer from Inter. They have many Argentines and from his comments immediately after the transfer that seemed to be the major deciding factor.

Agree0 Disagree0

But When Alveraz They Still Coundnt Beat City A Team We Bet Easily Last Season

Agree0 Disagree0

I think as with most South american players coming to the EPL...visa is the main issue. Mainland Europe is not as tough.

He's not a full international is he? I dont remember seeing him playing for Argentina.

I dont think it was the fee that scared us...dont believe everything you read on the papers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know players wages suggest that Inter can offer much better wages to players but how is that? This is Arsenal, I wouldn't expect us to be wage competitive with Madrid or Barca but with Inter Milan surely we can match them.

{Ed022's Note - Considering they are apparently paying Sneijder £200,000 a week I think they are too out of our league unfortunately...}

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I've read and whats been reported Inters finances aren't in the best shape and they seem to be keen to get some big earners off the wage bill so how we couldn't compete with that i don't know

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have stepped up interest in Gary Cahill after Vermaalen injury and may make a bid early this week.
AOC looks set to join.
Finally Arsene spending, look at bids rejected this summer:
Jagielka-10-12 Million. Vital to Everton, not enough.
Samba- 8Million. Like that would be expected.

When will he realize that to buy players you need to give offers that will be difficult to refuse, not ridiculous offers like 35Million for Carrol but if you want players, dont look for bargains.
South Gooner

Believable16 Unbelievable8

What TV injury??

Agree0 Disagree0

He got a back injury playing against benfica on saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn are looking for a new defender. Reason told that to fill the gap left by jones. isnt that jones played as DM at blackburn before?
Is it a sign that samba will be sold?
-Hakeem-

Got slight knock against Benfica, like Gibbs and Van Persie, should be fit for Newcastle though.
