Matias Suarez has died down a bit, maybe a 1-off rumour like Jadson was but apparently he friend is a "ITK" kinda guy on twitter. TBH buying him and selling arshavin for the same price would be money well spent imo. Suarez reminds me alot of Eduardo, great technique, knows when to pass and how to score, just a winger version aha.

We just have to wait until things are official mate. One guy says Suarez will sign, SSN saying we are very interested in Kalou. Some, if not all, have to be talking BS because it is highly unlikely we will sign Suarez, Kalou and Henry in one window.

The reporter who broke the Suarez story said there wouldn't be much action with the deal over the weekend. Apparently he will be having an interview with Suarez tomorrow though. Here's the reporter's twitter page: https://twitter.com/#!/JavierPerez108

The "ITK" isn't a friend or some guy. He's a very reputable reporter who is backed up by Philippe Auclair (recall him from the Nasri saga?)
His name is Javier Perez and he is hardly ever wrong according to most people.

RVP is my favourite player and i model my own game on him...also have a running joke with my boys as I always get told I look like him..I just say his left foot looks like mine

I would do this deal in an instant! It would set us up for a few years and RVP is getting on a bit..I think it would be a great deal! Never gonna happen though!

Everybody should be now (in theory) love Van Persie's left peg as much as I do. that said we have no room for emotion, and with that in mind the two options are both good:
Van Persie stays on until the end of his career GREAT no complaints.
Van Persie moves on in favour of Benzema GREAT sad seeing the lad go but this is football after all.
It doesn't make you a bad man, remember - hate the game not the player :) Higuain doesn't really do it for me the same way Benzema will and Van Persie has done for years!
In a perfect world we would have RvP and Benzema but I am just daydreaming now... Lol shame though that is exactly what the league and Arsenal need

This is likely the most absurd post I've ever read. I am now dumber than I was 30 seconds ago.
But as long as bizarro rules are in effect, perhaps we can ask them to throw in di maria, ozil and and a couple penelope cruz dry humps....

Absurd though it may be, somebody crowed a while back we would be signing Squillacci and I was the first person shooting that rumour down in flames.

I'm gonna go ahead and categorically guarantee this will never happen. It's likelier we bring back Sylvain Wiltord to partner Henry than any of this happening.

Higuain is a class striker he has 2 hattricks so far this season i think, also his positoning is amazing

2 hattricks in spain is not much to shout about there are prob a dozen players in EPL that would do just as well and better it has to be to most boring predictable league there is just like the scottish leauge there are only ever going to be 2 winners every year what is the point real and barca have easy games most weeks put them in the EPL they may do well for a while but they would get worn down after a while playing back to back hard games

Oh, and Man City is not a surprise to me. Any team with Yaya, Silva and Aguero in the attack ought to be taken seriously. And when they get Cavani in about 6 mos...they'll potentially be a juggernaut
Based on summer arguments, not sure how City winning is possible as they aren't bring in English talent. Someone ought to tell them to look at Downing, Upson, Dann and company....look at Liverpool, set up to be mid table for a decade....God I love consistency

you're smarter than this, c'mon....
You had a hunch we were looking to bring in a marginal defender to make up squad numbers, and now you use that to suggest we could bring in not one, but 2 of the hottest 5 strikers on the planet for one player.....4yrs older with a shoddy fitness history
Ok, done w/ this thread...but really, this is all too absurd

Had same argument in summer RE: Arteta/Benayoun and looks like I won that.
Kalou isn't suited to CFC's style of play, more suited to AFC's. He's being misused (or not used at all) at the Chavs and AW would revive his career.

The Kalou I am familiar with is rapid, takes players on, and knows how to find the back of the net. Rosicky has some good qualities but he doesn't skin people down the flanks and can't score to save his life. Arshavin on form is better than Kalou but I don't think his form is coming back. I've always though Kalou, like Yossi, is wasted at Chelsea, would love to have him at Arsenal.

I love a good rumour as much as the next guy but these rumours are getting stupid. Constantly goetze, hazard, benzema. Talk of 30, 40m transfers. Come on guys really? We all know wenger is never going to pay that much and it gets a little boring, hearing none stop dead end rumours. Don't get me wrong I love the rumours hotting up but just tired of being disappointed. Let's try stick to more realistic deal like this suarez kid that seems more likely than us payin stupid about for someone when we all deep down no we won't.
Don't get me wrong if we ever did get goetze or hazard I'd proberly wet my self, but I'm just bored of people keep sayin we are going to buy them wen we really not. And as for wenger being great in the French market he missed a trick wit cabaye the Newcastle lad for 4m?

We don't actually talk very much about Goetze, Hazard, Benzema outside our dream teams.
I don't think there is a single person on this site that actually believes we are going to sign either one of those players...

100% with Spanner we had no intention of signing a single one of those players it was blatantly simply to make it LOOK like we had, so as to appear to be trying. They knew deep down they would never sign any of the players they made these tiny bids for. 13m or something for Mata first time round and we got told to do one, same with all the above, same with Cahill, and basically everyone. Doesn't mean we were wrong necessarily, because Cahill is no way near worth anything more than about 8m max, but the point is we 'wanted' these players but wouldn't cough up.

It makes us a bit of a joke that Areta had to take a pay cut to join us,

Germans like playing in germany, and not many of them leave their country. the keeper that went to munich when he could have gone literally anywhere in the world is another example. Ozil yeh, he went to madrid, but he is turkish tbh.
Agree5

Yeah besides Mertesacker who wanted a new challenge and Ozil/Khedira who are technically Turkish there is not many Top German internationals that play outside of the German Clubs.
Gilo
Agree6
Disagree0
But does that rule Podolski out from coming to us?
Agree0
Disagree3
The difference with Podi though is that he has such a strong link with Koln and had such a torrid time at Bayern that when he moves it will be abroad.
Gilo
Agree4
Disagree0
I know its a side point but....how are ozil and khedira 'technically turkish'? they were born and grew up in Germany. their parents may be immigrants but they are German. 'Khedira' is an Arabic name so I am not sure his background is even Turkish. It is incorrect to suggest that their background makes them un-German.
This affects the argument as it does give examples of Germans moving abroad for better football. But considering they are both at Real, it would seem that the better German players want good financial oppotunities to move abroad. We could attract players like Podolski but we would need to fork out a bit. It must also be remembered that many Germans have quite good English so may be more open to moving to the PL.
As far as Reus is concerned, I agree that it would be difficult for us to pry him away from the advances of his hometown team, this may have been a deciding factor.

I would add that they may wait til end of season to see if they are in CL next season...first time in a while it looks shaky- you know how cautious they are about spending and its not the mentally to spend to try and ensure 4th or better for fear of finsihing 5th and left with more over paid players... thats my view.

I think Wenger does just not like doing any business in Januray, he has only gone for Henry on loan out of nessecity to cover loss of Gervinho and Chamakh on ACN. He will also possibly get a LB on loan that will be it.
He is maybe hoping Chamakh will gain some confidence back from playing some internationls in ACN with the pressure off and to get some goals under his belt. I think he is a decent player still just lacking cofidence. I never though of him as a naturel goalscorer (or Gervinho for that matter) that will get you 20+ goals a season more of a provider/link player. What we really need is a greedy on the last man box playing striker.
It is always difficult to do major deals in Januray. Also there is the added issue this year with the Euro's., in that Players although would like to move are reluctant to do so as the time taking to re-adapt and settle into a new team in a new legue may cost you a place in the Euro squads.
Agree3
Disagree2
It's funny mate, people come on her and say 'could you do a better job? No, so shut it!' etc, comments of that ilk.... but we actually have the best view of every game and we can see what AW can't. We see the performance from outside the box e.g Theo is shocking... as well as from inside e.g. 'Theo's put a few good balls across today on that wing (Arsene's thinking). We can always see when the players are shattered etc. So sometimes, yeah, I do think we could do a better job. When the respectable pundits, commentators and the majority of the fans are saying the same thing, why does that not make us right just because we didn't chose what AW did?
And yes, when it comes to transfers and talent, sometimes I really DO feel like I could do a job! Elia is someone I have been watching for a long time. Arteta was one for years. IMO we signed him 3 years too late, we should have piked him from Everton years ago. Elia we should have grabbed after the last WC. Ozil is obvious. Ba is another one I watched specially all of last season because I knew he had what it takes to play for a top side and he could, easily. Have you seen him shoot from range? He has a piledriver. Most of us on here have found cheap, young, top talent who we think would add something to the team and it seems the only person who can't/wont is AW...I don't mean any of this arrogantly but just because I am not a footy manage doesn't mean I can't tell the difference between a quality winger and a weak one for example...and how often do we sit here saying FGS Wenger why didn't you sign X or Y, now look at them?!

Nah im sorry dont agree with that bro.
theres so much we dont know about, we all only have speculation as sources unless one of us is actually stan the man himself, then no one really knows the truth and we have no right to pass judgement on speculation. although we can pass judgement on results but at the end of the season (19 games, fa cup and champions league run) but like arsene said "judge us at the end of the season"
+you'd be great at scouting and recruiting players maybe. but do you really think you could manage, train and improve 25+ players. as well as have them all look up to you in the tactics department? motivate and inspire them at a premier league standard??

just think all we need is one player maybe, just suarez even (who i think is VERY interesting prospect). yet just coz i dont think landing kaka or hazard is the end of the world, its deemed unambitious. yet look where chelsea's ambition got em... torres. wenger would lose his job disgracefully if he had signed him for that much, same with andy caroll.
if anyone wants arsene to keep his job/reputation its arsene. so im sure there will be something between now and summer + what our youth is capable of, that will wet our trophy appetite.

GunnerzBoy {Ed002's Note - No, I don't think so.
