I have posted before and i have very good contact who knows staff that work for RWH Wenger isnt signing any players YET for a couple of reasons Arsene and the club run a very tight ship financially The wages are very structured and the whole staff budget is set, they know they have to increase every now again but thats basically inflation. Wenger isnt signing some of his targets because the "dead wood", whoever they may be, he does not want to keep on the wage structure because he doesnt feel he gets valu for money from the players he owns, he doesnt want to sell them. If he signs players it will mean they will make the "dead wood" decrease in value because it make them easier to spot and we will get less for them on the market We havnt had any real substantials offers for these players (and my contact didnt know who we class
as "dead wood").
Cahill is a real target and Arsenal have discussed this with Bolton but they arent going to wait until arsenal are ready, they just want the best price or to keep him.
A couple of Blackburn players are targets but no names.
Benzema has been enquired about but we dnt know if a bid has been made?
Landon Donavon was looked at along with Honda and Arteta
Nasri will stay as he is loyal to Wenger.
Wenger is monitoring Richards and Barry
Mata isnt speaking to anybody as he is away so we do not know who he would like to speak to when he is back and lots of clubs have enquired and have asked to speak to him. Both real and barcacheatlona are keen and he may want to stay in Spain (why wouldn't he).
Taarabat is likely to go to PSG or stay with QPR but Wenger likes him as back up to theo on the right wing, who will play through the middle next year and Van Persie will drop back behind him (contingency planning).
Schwatzer is still being discussed along with Sorenson as a "mentor type" goalkeeping signing.
Gervinho is signed
Some south american kids are being talked about who playing at the copa america are being watched heavily but i have no names.

I was struggling to find any FACTS in your long statement. It seems more like ' what I think' rather than any concrete information.
I have contacts too but nothing you said is 100% true. Even Gervinho is not signed yet...although we hope it can be done soon.

AW has said on the official Arsenal website that he is working very hard to add ONE OR TWO more additions Therefore I think we can forget Benzema and Mata etc If we are only looking at one or two then surely they will be defenders Once again I feel that sinking feeling in my stomach of complete dissapontment I really hoped we would go out amd show some intent with 4 or 5 additions, a mixture of positions but it looks as tho AW feels differently I hope he has been misquoted but this I'd the official Arsenal site not some dodgy reporter stirring things

Arsene always suprise us.. i also think that old man always trying to get things done quietly to avoid the price of the player that he want to explode when other big teams also inquire. thats what happen for sanchez to barca. i dont see other team are really interested in sanchez.
they just enter the transfer speculation to raise the deal for barca (who are really want him)... now it make barca likely to spend a lot of money to get sanchez. hopefully they are not buying cesc this summer.

Gervinho is ALREADY an Arsenal player. The only thing holding up an announcement is one of two things. "Work Permit" or "Bonuses clause".

Arsenal will not announce until every little detail's ironed out we know this. - But he IS already an AFC player.

Hey ed.....plz tell me what are the chances of wenger signing mertasacker or subotic?....and who do u think would be a better fit in our style of play at left wing......mata or hazard?....for me..hazard.... Djourou is more likely as DM cover. He played there a few seasons back. I might be mistaken, but it seems to me that TV5 started off his career there as well, so in a pinch that could work.

I think one of djourou/koscielny should be train as DM to back up for song if he go to ACN next year.. it also depend on the new CB.. if we can get 2CB then it's worth to convert one of them thou.

i prefer player that has great tackling and heading to be our new DM. so the idea of koscielny being DM is not bad if we can get 2 new CB. Song sometimes looks like he get tired after mid season.

ed why do people think we need to spend mega money on 1-2 players his to win the league this year i think get samba baines and the back 4 is sorted nasri to take fabregas role (could prob be attack mid better than fab) gervinho akes nasri role on the wing then sign a couple players who have won trophies and have experience they would be a big help for second part of the season i think motta would be great won trophies under jose who would you like to sign with limited funds ed ? {Ed014's Note - I would consider Parker from West Ham firstly, I think he could easily compensate for the leadership lost if Fabregas leaves, and would be available cheap as West Ham will want to offload him from their wage bill. On that basis, Upson could be considered also. Also Adel Taarabt would be feasable with a couple of younger players moving in the other diraction. Taye Taiwo from Marseille is a quality left back if you believe Gibbs isnt up to it. or Marcelo from Real Madrid, who have just purchased Fabio Coentrao. Samba, yes, good value. Veira on a free? Seydou keita & abidal sounds like a great bargain for arsenal. two players that has the winning experience and mentality to help the arsenal youngsters. do we have a chance to get them on cesc deal? will barca let them go?

Ed Is Gervhino actually going to sign or is he gonna be another one slips through the net?
Something has to be done with all this stalling and dragging out transfers it's just unforgiveable. If a player isn't pulling his weight he is gone accept at Arsenal. So Wenger and board not pulling their weight why they still there. I think enough is enough this transfer window is the opportunity to show his intent and yet nothing. The way Wenger is going every club on the land will point blank refuse to do business with Arsenal cause just not worth the hassle. Whoever is at fault for all this they should resign and bring in the person who can get the job done.

{Ed022's Note - I still expect Gervinho to sign but I must admit, I am starting to get frustrated now...its dragging!}

Instead of frustrated, i really hope this deal doesnt happen, not sure gervinho is up to pl standard.

Hi Ed, once I heard Karim Benzema's name being mentioned I couldn't help but take notice.. do you expect to see him at the Emirates and if so, what effect, if any would that have on our other signings? (Cahill, Samba, LB etc)
I think we obviously do need defensive help but I think that we simply CANNOT miss the opportunity to sign a proven scorer like Benzema, who's style of play would sync so nicely with ours..

Ed, When i watch Sky Sports News you always see reporters outside various premiership training grouds, like when the Modric sagas going on but never out side Arsenals. Especially with the Nasri situation up in the air, i assume he has returned for pre-season?

It is rumored that nasri is in london to discuss the contract with arsene...

COBBLERS GOONER here....... We have just been told to smarten up the Colney offices for a visit of high priority at 11am this morning, extra ground staff are in and all working hard. Rumour has it, that it is to do with the arrival of an Dutchman and a Spaniard who are expected for a tour of the complex, and talks with AW and "The Boss" Stan the Man, who is en-route from Aspen, and due to land anytime now. Dutchman ?? Spaniard ?? now who could they be ?? Also heard that Nasri has agreed (in principle) a new contract, there is one small point that needs ironing out, to do with bonuses, i hope this will be sorted by tomorrow and Nas will take his seat on the plane to Malaysia on Sunday. alot of people keep sayin there is no chance we will get hazard n mata n benzema at the same time... y not? k fair enough wenger never spends big, but this season is a completely different situation to any others, and wenger himself has said its goin to be a busy summer for arsenal.
the point is to improve the squad, not just the 1st XI, i feel we need replacements for arshavin(hazard), fabregas(mata), bendtner(benzema), denilson(vidal), diaby(frimpong), almunia(any1), squalacci(cahill), clichy(cissokho/baines), rosicky(jet/miyaichi)...
this will leave a squad of:
schezney, fabianski, new GK
sagna, jen, cahill, verm, djo, kos, gibbs, new LB
frimpong, ram, wil, song, vidal
walcott, mata, hazard, gervinho, ryo/jet
benz, rvp, cham, vela

unrealistic... YES but not impossible, u cn never say never especially when wenger's the manager

To be fair you're not a million miles off, but one thing that is for certain - we should keep Arshavin. Last season was a blip. He'll be back with a vengeance this season, terrorising everyone.

Gibbs, Verminator, Cahill, Sagna, Samba, Cissokho, Koscielny, Djourou, Eboue

Frimpong, Song, Wilshere, Ramsey, Nasri, Arshavin, Mata, Lansbury

Walcott, RVP, Gervinho, Chamakh, Vela, Benzema

That would be my ideal squad, I'd like to see Vela played more next season, not sold, and for me Eboue is awesome, I don't want him to go. Deffo keep Arshavin, and I reckon Nasri will stay.

That team would be absolutely brilliant mate :D ps. hope we keep chamakh, he is so under rated, Wenger and fans need to stop thinking Van Persie is god and see that Chamakh is actually pretty good :)
