Hello ed. With both arsenal and dortmund in talks with lyon over lacazette, who do u actually see buying him?

Also in your opinion do u see sanchez staying or leaving (I know you have previously said arsenal do not want to sell but that does not always mean they won't sell)

The bellerin rumours are heating up again, do u see him staying at arsenal? I think that because oxlade chamberlain can play that position with the new formation, losing bellerin may not be that bad anymore?

And with szceney (however u spell it) and ospina supposedly leaving, do u think we will now push for Pickford, Butland or even that keeper u said in your last podcast (I forgot his name) .

Thanks ed, long message but your usually correct when u give your opinion mate, and thanks for replying to my last message.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea where Lacazette will end up but I have explained where there is interest. I would expect Sanchez to consider his options - Munich may be of serious interest to him. Arsenal will work hard to keep Bellerin but Barcelona are very keen indeed. The goalkeepers Arsenal have shown an interest in are:
Guillaume Hubert (Standard Liege GK – Arsenal are very keen)
Jordan Pickford (GK - has been looked at and may be an option if Sunderland are relegated – and home grown)
Bernt Leno (Bayer Leverkusen know of interest from several sides – would need to be first choice so a less likely option this summer)
Alban Lafont (still young but a lot is expected of the Toulouse goalkeeper)

Pickford would be nice, and he'd probably push for number one spot. However, I can't imaging he'd go somewhere where he isn't guaranteed to start most league matches - although I'm constantly surprised by how many decent keepers are happy to sit on the bench (e. g. Begovic at Chelsea)

"if Sunderland are relegated" Got some news for you mate.

{Ed002's Note - It is an old list put up again because someone asked.}

Ed 02 you ain't going to like this mate sorry.
I know if a player doesn't want to stay there's not a lot you can do and there's no point in trying to force the issue. But Man City! come on haven't we learnt anything?
If Sanchez wants to go let's do our upmost to make sure it's abroad not to a club that's in direct competition in this country.
Maybe Arsenal are. What do I know? . But haven't we been down this road in the past.
Help us out here mate please.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City and Bayern remain interested. Sanchez is the same as any other player - a transient employee of the club. I would think Bayern may be of more interest to him.}

If we sell him to City, I'm going to go ape. I'd rather he left as a free agent - he's already been worth his fee and more.

Well that would be a relief mate. If he is going I hope it's abroad. We don't need him doing his damage in the Premier League next season for a rival club. 👎.

what if he goes to man city on a free tho. i'd rather see them pay 50million for him. but I hope if he's of he goes to bayern or psg.

{Ed002's Note - PSG have moved on.}

09 Jun 2017 10:25:26
never said he was going to psg just stating places i'd like him to go. the auba deal for psg is a major coup. sanchez to bayern makes sense all round.

Would there be any chance we'd go for Diego Costa?

i hope so, might be hated but he is clinical!

You think that would be sensible? Great player on his day but wouldn't want him in our changing room. He's nearly had a fight with half our team.

I would much rather go for Douglas Costa from Bayern :)

Highly unlikely.

He isn't a team player.

More importantly, Wenger feels let down by the likes of Ozil and Sanchez He bought 2 big names for big money and neither have proven to be reliable.

Buying a big name just isn't going to happen.

Sanchez record is great. bargain he was.

And we need to keep him, ( Sanchez ) if Wenger had bought a top class striker last summer i'm sure that Sanchez and Ozil would be staying and we'd be in the champions league and had a much better run in the league.
All season you could see the frustration on Sanchez's face when the other strikers didn't close down the defenders thus making his efforts useless, then, when he gets the ball, having to practically go it alone because the other strikers, while being good, are not at his level ( or the level that we all deserve ) .
Wenger has been too loyal to his players for too long, its time to cut the serial under achievers loose.

And, if Sanchez does leave, we don't need one world class signing, because that will only put us in the same position as last year, if we want to have a better season, we will need two or three world class players.
Also, why do we always let players get to their last year of contract?
Are there no savvy businessmen at the club? what the f*** are they doing, ?
Every other club in Europe are getting 100m + for top class strikers, and we''ve let his contract run down and figures like 50m are being quoted ?
Get a grip guys, this happens far too often, tell him he signs a new contract, and we'll let him go ( at our valuation ) next summer if he's not happy, if he won't sign, he doesn't play for a year, !

Bring back David Dein. We all know Dein and Wenger were untouchable. Only way we get Dein back is if Stan sells up. That ain't happening anytime soon.

Colby, what you are complaining about is essentially what most gripes around Arsenal center on - the management. Wenger might have lots of control, but contracts are not solely his domain and the owner/ board are letting us down consistently.

no point holding onto a player. looks a berihinho and wba. pointless it was.

Ed,
You had said there was no interest in Lacazette, which was when it seemed done and dusted with Lyon. I'm asking because circumstances seem to have changed: likelihood of seeing him in Islington?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No, what I said is that BOTH Mbappe and Lacazette won't be joining. I have explained that Arsenal and Dortmund have been talking with Lyon.}

Has there been any success in our discussions with Lyon?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea how you would measure "success".}
