I hear rumours that Arsenal have agreed a fee of £6.9 million to sign Mapou Yanga - Mbiwa and that he will link up with the squad on 1st January. Can anyone confirm if this rumour is true?

Ed could you give us an input in this {Ed027's Note - well i know were interested we have been for a while, weve been in talks with Montpellier since the summer, i brought you the info that we's asked about someone, it cam out to be Giroud, but we aslo asked about Belhanda and Mbiwa, but nothing came of it, Belhanda wont happen now we have Santi, Mbiwa is really possible, Milan are his first choice

Hi Ed, do you hope to see Basta at Arsenal? {Ed002's Note - I am indifferent to the entire matter. However, I am indifferent to many, many things: British politics, most sports, cauliflower, public transportation, French cars, pop music after 1970, etc..}

Load of rubbish why would they sell for 4m I am sure they would rather let him go for free at the end of the season

Spanner

Sounds interesting if we pull it off will most def add goals but he needs to be feed service so do we need to find a number 9 striker or would you try and mould walcott into that

Ed is it true that Arsenal are interested in Diame and Ba?

Thanks

Invincible49 {Ed002's Note - The only confirmed interest I am aware in Diame of is from Newcastle and Espanyol. I understand that Newcastle are still likely to get an offer for Demba Ba from Galatasaray and that there may be interest from Anzhi Makhachkala. It is possible he will move but he would look for a Champions League side. And he could be expensive to buy for a non-CL side.}

The diame rumour might go away now as hes out for 12 weeks

Hi Ed, which players do you honestly believe arsenal are looking at and have a chance of signing in January or this coming summer? {Ed002's Note - Try search on Basta.}

Who do the eds believe is the most likely striker to be brought into the club in January, if any? Thanks.
Flybo {Ed001's Note - I personally don't expect a striker in January for the first team anyway, there is always a chance of academy players coming in.}

Just a talking point really:

Ray Parlour recent interview:

"Back when I was playing fro Arsenal, when we were training, Arsene Wenger would get infuriated with us because we couldn't execute the plans properly, some players would show up in poor conditions or late, people would be pranking eachother or messing around, and generally we wouldn't listen or change our ways. However, come matchday, it all came together and we would put in a good performance.

He seems to have the opposite now.

Wenger insists he now has the best group of players he has ever had. In training they are sharp, quick, disciplined and everything you'd expect from a Wenger team. But come matchday, they play like strangers."

I'm not sure what to make of this. Comparing two different squads is always difficult. It seems like a confidence issue. The average age is lower now, perhaps that's something to do with it.
