Hi, followed the rumours on here for a while now. Thought I'd sign up and put in my ten pence.
I'm really excited about the coming season. I was a huge Wenger fan and have huge respect for the man. However, the change was long overdue.
I am praying that Ramsey signs a new contract and is given the captaincy. I really think he and the team can go from strength to strength.

The question from me is. Given the new and potential (realistic) signings, what do you people think will be next seasons strongest starting 11?

With little over a month to go, it will be interesting to see who else we sign, as Gazidis has stated that there will be more signings.
It appears that Torreira is on his way after the Wolrd Cup.
The positions that seem to be targets to improve are:
CB; Possibly Mustafi out and a replacement signed.
LB: Reports that Montreal may be sold and a replacement signed.
Wide attacking player: to be signed.
Creative midfield player to be signed.
Thoughts?

Further reports that we are negotiating for Caglar Soyuncu, who looks a quality young defender. Assuming we sigh him and Sokratis, it looks likely Mustafi will depart.
I would like to see us sign Banega and Fellaini, although I doubt he will join us.

Leno
Bellerin Sokratis Soyuncu Kolasinac
Torreira
Mkhitaryan Fellaini Xhaka Aubameyang
Lacazette

Cech
Lichtsteiner Holding Mavropanos Monreal
Maitland-Niles
Ozil Banega Ramsey Perez
Welbeck

I am not at all sure Ramsey and Welbeck will stay.

This looks like our most likely incomings with Leno and Lichsteiner confirmed wouldn't mind Golovin and a winger and another cb Pavard or diallo

Leno
Lichsteiner
Sokratis
Terreira

Out
Cech
Wilshere
Mertesacker
Carzola
Mustafi/ Chambers
Ozil maybe if we can sign a world class player.

Assuming the four transfers will complete: Leno, Lichtsteiner, Sokratis and Torreira, we still appear to possibly require the following:
A further CB, if Mustafi departs, unless Emery retains and utilises Chambers, Mavropanos and Holding. Koscileny may be available in January 2019.
A further DM, unless Emery uses Xhaka, Elneny and Maitland-Niles, as well as Torreira.
Attacking midfield lacks in depth, if Wilshere and Ramsey depart. We will have Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Iwobi. We could play strikers such as Welbeck (if he stays) and Aubameyang wide in the attacking midfield trio.
We really need to sort out where we stand with Ramsey and Welbeck, perhaps this explains rumours regarding Banega.
Emery has done a considerable amount to sort out such a weak and unbalanced sqaud. It will be interesting to see how so many new players knit together, whilst using new tactics and training methods. From a fan's perspective iexciting times ahead.

In the past 12 months, Walcott, Giroud, Cazorla, Wilshere, Coquelin, Gibbs? Ox, Mertesacker, Debuchy, Sanchez all gone. I didn't actually realize how many previous 'first teamers' had been been moved on! Credit where its due, this team needed a major overhaul and the cosy club mentality needed to change. Its beginning to look in a lot better shape.

Seeing as we struggle for wingers and people don't like the fact that Laca or Pea would be left out the squad, what do people think of trying a 4-1-2-1-2?
We haven't really experimented with 2 strikers (unless moving them out wide) since the days of Henry and Bergkamp and that seemed to work pretty well. Arsenal like to play through the middle and in behind so this formation would suit us pretty nicely imo.

Leno
Bellerin, Soyuncu, Sokratis, Kolasinac,
Torreira
Xhaka, Ramsey
Ozil (Mkhi)
Aubameyang, Lacazette.

We still need to sign a keeper, possibly another CB, another DM and a wide player.
Who should be sold or moved on to fund the purchases and create space in the squad?
My own choices would be:
Chambers - Reports that Fulham want him and if we could achieve close to te £16m we paid it would be ideal.
Ospina
Mustafi - If the signing of Sokratis is confirmed and we sign Soyuncu or another CB.
Campbell - I believe he has left
Akpom
Perez - Reports that a couple of PL teams are interested.

Bellerin - He needs to learn to tackle and needs work on his defensive positional sense. Perhaps, if we can get £35m+ then move him on and sign a replacement, such as Klostermann.

If we cannot extend the deals of Ramsey and Welbeck, who only have a year to go, then clearly we have to sell.

Morning Chaps!

Looking at this realistically, what line up would we all like to see next season? For me:

Leno
Bellerin, Mavropanos, Sokratis, Kolasinac
Ramsey, Pellegrini,
Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Aubameyang
Lacazette

Personally i'm still not convinced by that squad either but its a realistic possibility.
Aubameyang shouldn't be played on the wing in my opinion but I can't see us playing 2 up top. It's not Emery's style.
I would also rather see a quality defensive midfield player to really strengthen the squad rather than more attacking players. Pellegrini and Seri are good players going forward but not so much on the defensive side of the game. Not something we need tbh! Interested to see what you other boys think?
