Think it's going to be a cracking atmosphere tonight at the Emirates.
How we progress in this competition is a mark how far we have come

Three points needed today lads and Sally - payback for Dyche`s first game in charge. Vieira ESR or Havertz with Odegaard and Rice? Strong midfield either way and expect Jesus to start COYG.

Having seen utd in a couple games, I was disappointed that at 90 minutes we were still drawing. I honestly expected us to rip them apart. Ecstatic that we won, and while I don't condone violence, the cherry on the cake was Keane getting nutted.

Could we utilise Mo Elneny further back if necessary?

So, just quick rant from me.
Firstly, there's noway that havertz is an upgrade on xhaka. maybe couple of seasons ago, but not in this current time. Secondly, why we're willing to let Tierney go is beyond madness.
Thirdly and most importantly, why is arteta continuing to play players out of position to accommodate players we've (in my mind) overspent on.
We were so close to city last season, and (although time will tell) I think we've gone backwards, the meddling of a solid back 4 has confused me, partey, one of the solid defensive midfielder's going right back, and havertz getting so many minutes in a midfield that's crying out for a smith-rowe or trossard.
Was really upbeat about the season ahead after the last one, but this overspending on players in positions we didn't need, and the tinkering has put things on a downer.
Again, a lot of you might disagree, just my opinion. Hope we turn things around. COYG.

Just watched the highlights and a Rice highlight on YouTube from the match. He looked solid and sensible on the ball. Plenty simple forward passes, winning duals and interceptions.
Anyone see him live and give a little more perspective? Really unlucky not to score which would have been a nice middle finger up to Souness
Can't find a highlight video of Kai - how did he do.

How bad was havertzs yesterday I’m not convinced by this signing I have to say, think the boss has made a big big mistake here especially for 65m there’s much better players out there for cheaper, hope he proves me wrong but by yesterdays performance I’m not too sure he just looked lost.

Dude it was his first game with brand new teammates, he made a cameo appearance second half after many changes/ substitutions with a few young-guns n a couple unwanted players coming on it changes the whole dynamic of the game which makes it more difficult to gel…this is what friendlies are about aren’t they? . to integrate new signings, scope the youth talent and get that match sharpness 🤷🏼♂️
Ofcourse it’s your entitled to your opinion VM, just for me it’s unfair to dig at a new signing after just playin your 1st half hour in a friendly match that’s all.

Bite-sized transfer window takes:
-Sign Raya and loan out Turner. Proper competition will surely be a good thing for both Raya, Ramsdale and the club.
-Sign cover/ competiotion for Zinchenko and sell Tierney. Tierney is a good player but simply too different to Zinchenko. Tierney doesn't seem particularly happy either. I suggested Cucurella earlier but apparently that was too crazy. Brighton's player of the year 21/ 22 is no fluke though, they were a quality team back then already. Struggling this season with Chelsea should not be a surprise given the mess they are currently in.
-Either sign a new cb for cover or promote Trusty. Sell Holding. No need for a super high-end cb if Kiwior can prove to be a viable option to Gabriel and Saliba.
-Sign Rice, keep Smith-Rowe and sell Xhaka. In Rice, Smith-Rowe, Partey and Jorginho i think we would have a good mix of midfield players for both DM and CM roles.
-Sign a top striker and sell either Nketiah or Jesus along with Balogun. I rate Balogun but have a feeling his attitude is quite not what Arteta wants. My preference is to keep Jesus but it depends on what other clubs are willing to offer. Evan Ferguson would be an exciting addition. Young and a bit inexperienced still, but Jesus would take some of that pressure off.
My team 23/ 24 (two players per position) :
GK: Raya, Ramsdale
RB: White, Tomiyasu
LB: Zinchenko, Cucurella
CB: Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Trusty
CM+DM: Rice, Smith-Rowe, Partey, Jorginho
RW: Saka, Nelson
LW: Martinelli, Trossard
AM: Odegaard, Vieira
ST: Jesus, Ferguson.

bored on a Friday so he is my (what I believe is gettable) 25-man squad for next season.
GK - Ramsdale
GK - Turner
LB - Zinchenko
LB - Kyle Walker-Peters - £15 mill
CB - Saliba
CB - Gabi
CB - Kiwor
CB - Guhei - £25 Mill
RB - White
RB - Tommy
DM - Rice - 90 mill
DM - Partey
CM - JWP - 35 mill
CM - Smith Row
AM - Odegaard
AM - Viera
LW - Martinelli
LW - Trossard
RW - Saka
RW - Diaby - 65 Mill
ST - Jesus
ST - Eddie
CM - Jorginho
ST - Daka - 20 Mill
MID - Elneny
£250 mill spend
we are likely to sell
Xhaka - 30 mill
Tierney - 30 mill
Balagon - 30 mill
so that would be a £160 next spend
** I appreciate there will be others sold but I was just using rough figures and the main 3 sellable assets.
