It sounds like we are close to agreeing to sign Ashley Williams, which will be an excellent signing for a reported £8-10M, plus wages of approx £60,000 per week. He is an experienced player, who is used to playing in the Premiership. I have a feeling Vermaelen may depart as he had a poor season, maybe the injuies he sustained have taken their toll. However, I cannot believe we will only receive the reported £5m, for him. If he stays & Williams signs, we will have 4 decent options for the center back positions. We have 2 quality left backs & of Sagna stays we have 2 right backs. So the defence is sorted.

Would be good to have vermallen, williams, kos and mertsacker, now that's amazing: none of them are egos either and wouldn't mind staying on the bench - it will give us serious depth in the central defence department - winning EPL is about consistency and having an arsenal of centre backs is a good start

Swansea chairman has denied it, saying there has been no contact with arsenal.

Maybe he has, but (apparently) there have been two rounds of talks with Williams' representatives.

Arsenal are likely to secure him for between 8 and 12 million

Waste of money in my opinion :)

Will only happen if TV leaves. can't see us spending that money to have 4 CBs all of who can only play CB and all of who are 28 ish. They won't be happy with the squad. If TV stays, we are more liekly to get a young CB or a RB that can fill in there. I'd actually like to keep Sagna cause he's actually quite a good CB.

Vermaelen will not go, unless a 15 mill plus offer come's in, defo not 5m. The man has had a bad season Holiday plus pre-season he will be back, hopefully not as captain though

Sagna is not an option!
